The Australasian Delegation's leader Patrick Dorahy he hastily given documents consisting of reports of the recent happenings within the City in which the Peace Summit is being held

 

"Delegates, it seems as our economists predicted, we're facing a worldwide depression, not seen for over a century now, I'll be advising the Government of the Federation to pull out of South America as we will not be able to sustain war there for much longer. If war continues the cost will be more than just current human life, but the lives of those in future. I urge the Caliphate's delegation to make peace with the African Delegates, as you are the one completely in the wrong in this war, as you did break a treaty as you like to say the British did. Its not one rule for your nation and another for others. Withdraw immediately and we can all work together to rebuild the economy."

 

Patrick is given documents concerning the use of chemical weapons in North Africa

 

"We strongly condemn this action, an act of barbarism. These weapons are not meant to be used in warfare. I would like to remind the Caliphate that the African Delegates are not responsible for this attack as their fronts are in the South. They are not responsible for these acts so do not hold them to be responsible."

The Japanese Solar Empire

 

 

Japanese men and women watched the stock markets of the world crash in horror, as the government quickly issued out loans to banks and protections for those hit the hardest, while also moving to consolidate the various banking companies into Yamato Banking, Korea United Banks, The Bank of Taiwan, and the Southeast Asian Banking Corporation, bulking up the companies with whatever the Empire could spare to save their economy.

 

That wasn't enough, but Japan had one thing going for it many other nations had already fixed; tens of smoking, rubbled cities courtesy of its many wars over the decades. To create quick jobs, public works projects begin in the Greater Tokyo Area, South Korea, and Indonesia, where cities had become either slums or abandoned. The cities would be cleaned up, repaired, and made habitable again.

 

They needed more, though. The Japanese-Asian Moon Base had a population of 11,500 Japanese alone in its massive complex, but the Moon was known to be the product of Earth being hit by an asteroid. With this in mind, Japan sends large amounts of engineers and workers to the Moon, Mars, and Callisto, where it is hoped their jobs (previously in industry) could contribute to a more stable resource market.

 

The Japanese elite had trillions more yen than that of the now faltering poor. That money, it was decided, would be forced to circulate by the government. 50% of each elite of Japan's savings and income is mandated to be invested in farming or space endeavors, namely in the backwards, jungle-covered but massive islands of Southeast Asia.

The Yuki-Tennō took over 13 years to build, but it wasn't the time that made it powerful - it was the sheer amount of effort put in by Japan on a single ship. Unlike other space-faring nations that had built a multitude of ships, Japan had used all of its facilities for the entirety of the time building the mechanical giant that was its flagship. Called the Space Yamato by many, it is perhaps the single most powerful ship currently fielded by any Earth nation - but it is still just one ship, and that was the weakness the Japanese failed to think of. Other navies had tens of ships, meaning that even with the largest amount of guns and thickest armor in the galaxy, it would have no backup until more ships were built.

The Japanese government declares that it will not launch an attack against the Reclaimers unless provoked greatly.

South American Federation

 

The South American Federation government watched in horror as the stock market plummeted then crashed so suddenly they couldn't prepare for it properly, they soon watch their own people get fired from jobs that couldn't support the workers; Smaller companies disappearing and shutting down their services to everyone as they ran out of money. Frantically they start to try and help some of the larger companies by providing some of the money that they had gave them before the Queen herself asks that the more wealthier people of the Federation share their wealth for the benefit of the entire nation for if they do not they will loss their wealth possibly in the near future. Some of the troops at the front line are pulled back home worrying of possible angry civilians, after these orders are sent out the people at the front line are ordered to entrench their positions and defend it from any possible attacks while the government tries sorting things out at home. Grudgingly the SAF government sends a peace offering to the Andean government asking for a truce but declares they give the SA Federation a part of taken land from the war effort.

The marriage proposal is actually a bit of a surprise from the Australian government, the queen certainly flattered as she looks over the proposal not expecting this would happen before they right their agreement to this. Victoria - The Queen of the SAF would marry the Australian King to better their relationships, Invitations are sent to the British Imperium, CSA and some family members along with friends to attend the wedding.

The research on Fusion Engines is thankfully finished but has not been put into production along with the Space Fighter now named LWSS Renault Mark One and the first few would be equipped with miniature Fusion Cannons fitted on the wings and the front of the hull while some flares are set up on the shuttle. The Capital shield is planned to hold a massive Fusion Engine and will be named the HMS Royal. The Capital ship is also redesigned slightly to hold four large fusion cannon turrets while the rest is outfitted with smaller designs of fusion cannons all using VI as the priority control but with a flick of a switch and a key card from the captain can instantly disable this and make it manually controlled.

The Republic of India

The day the Stock Markets crashed and the world economy was sent into a recession was the India had been knocked off its economic pedeal stool.

Tandon had a plan however. Captialism was highly unstable, therefore government intervention was needed, especially in recessions, Tandon planned spend massive amounts of money on public works, which would create new jobs, expand demand, and rebuild consumer confidence. Yes, government would need to run large deficits, but economic stability was reward. If the current government planners could manage aggregate demand through public works, the boom-bust business cycle could be flattened and economic development could be managed in the national interest. Effectivly ending their depression, this would take time however.

As Indian officials walked out of the the board meeting, the Indian's succeeded in effectively buying out the Kalashnikov company. Their factories would immediately move the Indian Republic, this would help create new jobs for the Indian people. Factories in countries were effectively shut down. (Pok approved!)

Former Russian companies are contacted about a buy out much like the Kalashnikov deal.

In space, The Indian moon base is completed, construction of heavy defenses begins. Tandon is slightly outraged with the Orion company using the ships, he paid for to fight against his friends. But is forgiven in return for them constructing a facility to help with the Indian Recession.

Orion Avionics, Engineering, and Mechanical Manufacturing

The owner of Orion Avionics himself, Lucas Messer, appears publicly to apologize to India for their use of ships due for turnover, stating the the need to combat the Reclaimers is dire to Orion's security. Orion now turns the control of the two carriers promised to them over to the Indian government, the OCS Troy and the OCS Stoic Revenge, once the latter is finished with repairs (1 page). The ships are stationed over Mars awaiting orders from Indian command.

Over Mars, the coalition fleet has been refitted with shiny new cold fusion engines and reactors.

A ceremony is held at Polaris Cosmodrome to commemorate the crew on board the OCS Gallipoli, destroyed in action while combatting the Reclaimer Corps.

To do its fair share to relieve the world recession, Orion begins large construction projects in several nations and on Mars with the money accumulated through its sale of recent ships. In India, construction begins on the Pandora Cosmodrome, a 400 square kilometer project provided the local labor force with a huge amount of jobs (16 pages). In Greece Orion begins construction on the standard 200 km Castillo Cosmodrome (10 pages). Expansion of the Polaris Cosmodrome begins in Brittania, building an external construction facility covering the Clackmannanshire county with a small-town of construction centers. (8 turns.) On Mars, jobs are promised to any legal persons who emigrate from Earth to Mars Colony Alpha seeking to find sustainable income. People who would wish to leave Earth for Mars who need financial support would be offered low-interest loans from Orion to afford transport. They would be put to work alongside the current citizenry in expanding the Ursa Cosmodrome to triple its construction capacity, as well as to expand the colony's population capacity. EDIT: Now receiving government subsidies from Britain, Ehtiopia, Japan, and Porto, Orion also begins the construction of standard cosmodromes in Porto, Japan, and Ethiopia. (10 pages)

New Marketed Ships

Orion now offers a new version of the Jaguar, the Jaguar-II, to level 2 authorized buyers. The Jaguar-II is a bigger, faster, heavier, an much meaner version of its younger brother.

The Jaguar-II is equipped with far more armor and armament than its smaller predecessor, allowing it to step into the heavy cruiser role that Orion had left empty until now. In addition, the Jaguar-II is equipped with the latest in capital propulsion systems, now powered by cold fusion reactors and engines, allowing it to reach speeds previously not feasible with ships half its size. The Jaguar-II can be fitted with the same modules as its younger brother, though it carries a third rather than the two, and has access to premium modules that take up all three slots.

-Jaguar-II Heavy Combat System-

The Heavy Combat System prepares a Jaguar-II for almost any situation the ship could encounter. specifically built around destroying enemy capital ships. The HCS equips a Jaguar-II with an impressive array of three main cannons on its stern, giving it a notable capability to decimate an enemy formation from long range before it gets into the gritty-close combat scenarios of space combat. Either side of the hull is then lined with a row of 12 heavy plasma batteries and 24 rotary dual-barreled turrets, giving it close range capabilities against most threats. The top and bottom of the ship are armed with an array of 36 tri-barreled rotary turrets to defend against fighters and other small craft.

-Jaguar-II Heavy Anti-Ship Platform-

The HASP is all about delivering as much punch as possible at all ranges, and taking just as much. It sports the same three-cannon array as the Heavy Combat System, but now carries four smaller secondary plasma cannons on the top and bottom of the ship, allowing it to rip apart any ship broadside to it at close range. Either side is armed with an array of repeating batteries to pepper close enemy ships with a barrage of plasma and armor piercing shells.

-Jaguar-II Mining Barge-

The mining module on the Jaguar is fairly self-explanatory. The Jaguar sacrifices most of its armament to afford a large amount of cargo storage and mining equipment. While it isn't self-sustaining, it can carry on a mission and support a crew for a rather long time and take the spoils back to a base.

Furthermore, Orion has announced the Panther Class Multirole Carrier available for purchase to level 1 authorized buyers. While it doesn't quite dwarf the smaller Mammoth carrier, it's certainly significantly larger.

The nature of the Panther has led Orion to offer it only to closely trusted buyers. The Panther is a ship designed for lead roles, whether it be the actual flagship or a linchpin part of a strategy, the Panther is a contender with the other large ships of humanity, though it won't be the biggest by any measure. The Panther can be built, as with all Orion products, in a number of variants (short on time, so tl;dr on variants for now). The Panther can be built specifically to be a flagship, balancing between inter-ship combat capability, ground deployment capability, and spacecraft transport and deployment capability. In addition, the carrier can be designed to specialize in an actual carrier role to either deploy to ground, space, or a balance between both, as the buyer needs.

Princely State of Porto

 

 

With a new british land lease the government of Porto decided to show it’s comfortable money pillow by making a grand complex of gardens in the city. Huge marble statues of religious figures, poets, kings, presidents all adorn the gardens, each statue with it’s own little place, filled with trees and fountains. But the crown Jewel of the grand gardens now called “The Garden of Prosperity” was a big statue of the sermon in the mountain. Jesus on top with many people below him. On the bottom of this holy representation it was written on a granite panel “Com a graça de Deus, nós somos prósperos!” And in the below the portuguese it was written in english. “With the grace of God, we are prosperous!”

 

With all this the land prices and taxation of companies were cut. New land opened as well as space for some minor industry. With this major companies are almost free to buy any land they wish as long as it does not dislocate the natives. This is made to attract big companies that are finding it hard to establish good headquarters seeing how taxation would go up in other countries. A new stock market in Porto is establish. Now not dependent on the London stock market.

 

 

A new high rise is starting to be built. Again, to show how stable the country is ((Btw this is all an IC façade)), this will house offices, apartments and will have a mall installed in the crown of the building.

 

Gifts of jewels are also sent to Britain, Germany and the American empire, once again to show wealth.

To Britain a highly ornate, mostly made of pure gold, an Eucharistic Adoration for the faithful Empress of the British Empire.

To Germany, a new golden crown, rubies and pearls adorn the beautiful piece of jewelry, truly fit for a German Kaiser.

To the American president, the hand of justice, a symbol of their place in the world stage.

 

Of course everything would go live, and media (at least most) would be sure to mention which state delivered each gifts.

 

With all of this, the Princely State is attempting to make themselves prominent in a world stage, and to attract the most wealthiest corporations.

THE IMPERIUM BRITANNIA

 

 

The Imperium Britannia had suffered a series of incredible blows as of late.

 

The first of these blows was the occupation of Europa Atlantis. The second was the defeat of the British fleet at what is now called The Battle of Gamma 652, the name of the cubic quadrant of space in which the Reclaimers attacked the Anglo-Orion fleet. But the third and fourth blows were almost too much for Britannia to bear...

 

 

The crash of the stock market had crippled British investments, and nearly 14% of the total population of all the territories and provinces within the Imperium were unemployed. Welfare programs were overladen, and there simply were not enough benefits to be spread about the Imperium...

 

The British Socialist Party saw an opportunity. And they seized it by the horns.

 

 

The House of Commons is overrun in the 2070 elections. Just a year before, the Traditionalist-Catholic Coalition had held an undisputed 3/4ths majority of the Commons. Now they merely held 1/3rd of the seats in the House, losing the undisputed majority that they had held in the Commons for the first time in almost 40 years.

 

 

Of course, the powerful House of Lords was still almost exclusively Traditionalist. For they knew the hand that fed them, and that hand was the Crown, which obviously wanted to maintain a Traditionalist Britain.

 

They also controlled much of the local government in Britannia and they in fact represented the richest and most influential citizens in Britannia. Although many of the lords did not actually own the Imperium's land, as most of the House of Lords was made up of rich businessmen or prestigious influential officials granted titles and responsibilities by the Empress in their respective honorary countries over certain regions of their influence, but that didn't matter. What mattered was that they were in a position to combat the House of Commons and prevent them from instituting their radical socialist policies, which they do.

 

The Dame Ashley Philip had been given the title of Baroness so that she might remain Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and by extension the head of the Conservative Party.

 

After much bickering and debate at an emergency session of the Imperial Parliament, delegates from the Kingdoms of Iberia and Great Britain, as well as financial geniuses representing Hong Kong, finally agree on a course of action to take.

 

To appease the Socialists, a number of social programs would be instituted throughout the Imperium. In every major city in Britannia (London, Lauria, St. John, Dublin, Rouen, Hong Kong, Bastia, and a number of others), architects are commissioned to build grand, towering statues of the human personification of the Imperium, Britannia. ((Mod Please))

 

However, at the same time, an investment plan is layed out by the government to appease the Traditionalists, who plan to invest in rising and small businesses in order to attempt to stabilize the economy and create new jobs. ((Mod Please))

 

A project to expand the Orion Cosmodrome in Scotland is also commissioned and subsidized, and is expected to provide tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of jobs to British workers, and heavily increase construction capacity in space.

Orion's colony had never been under British control. Yes, it had been subject to British laws and customs, but the British had left them to their own. They were a British company, and it was assumed that they would retain their allegiance to the nation out of which they were based. And they did.

 

Orion was their greatest ally in space, and in fact produced quite a few of their ships. Assuming they would join the British Commonwealth of Nations alongside their English-speaking brothers and continue to swear allegiance to Empress Laura Windsor as their honorary Head of State and monarch, they would in fact be willing to acknowledge Orion's space possessions' political independence from the Imperium Britannia as a Commonwealth Realm, although their company would still be bound by international and British law on Earth.

 

However, this would be the absolute last realm that would achieve such easy independence from the Imperium Britannia; the Imperium would not stand for its provinces blindly rebelling against them, only to be reconquered by far nastier entities.

The British fleet was now armed with the cold fusion engines and generators created jointly by the British government and Orion. This would be sure to increase the power of their energy-based weapons and help to drastically cut the time needed to traverse space.

 

 

As for the Battle above Mars, there was much confusion that had been recently resolved. There had, in fact, not been a fleet of Caliphate ships in orbit around Mars. Just a single cruiser which had fled after doing what it had set out to do.

 

And the OCS Stoic Revenge had not, in fact, been destroyed. It had simply had it's battle transponder falter during the attack, an unusual occurance and an understandable error on the part of the Admiralty's staff.

 

Stoic Revenge had taken some moderate damage, but was still, indeed, well-afloat. As for the destroyed communications beacon(s), they are quickly replaced by ships in the fleet, as they are carried aboard them as standard equipment.

 

Planetary defenses and the fleet's defensive grid remain vigilant against foreign or Reclaimer attack.

 

((Mod confusion; thought that Caliphate had a fleet of ships and not a single cruiser. Zandrew and I discussed a compromise to the battle, but if you want me to change this up Pok or simply refuse for some reason to allow this compromise for the situation and this reasoning to proceed, I'll edit this part of the post later.))

 

The British counter invasion force would disembark from their clocked shuttles and garrison themselves at the Orion Mars Colony, awaiting repairs from their escort ships. The shuttles themselves begin to use their cloaking devices to safely ferry materials and people back and forth between Mars and Earth.

 

The British Mars Base, however, had been very heavily damaged, rendered uninhabitable by the Caliphate cruiser. It would take some time to repair...

 

But life had given the British Empress lemons, and she intended to make lemonade as she pushed through both houses of the Imperial Parliament a commission to construct a new colony on Mars by the name of Maranis Utopia, intending to invest in Mars so as to replace Europa Atlantis as the main resource "cash cow" of the Imperium Britannia until such time as they were prepared to launch a counter-invasion of the moon.

 

Swiss colonists would also be scheduled to be ferried to the colony, as per a deal made with the Swiss government which was funding the colony's construction. Switzerland and Britannia would both have a say in the colony's governance, although the British would be responsible for the colony's defense, maintainment, and protection, and would be able to set up mining and military operations there. Therefore, the colony would be considered as part of the British Empire, although the Swiss would have a major say in the colony's affairs as well. Expansion is planned for later so that the Swiss and the British will have an easier time managing their respective regions of the colony.

Britannia reaches out to Porto and Switzerland, hoping that these nations that had remained relatively afloat during the financial crisis would be willing to provide financial aid packages to Britannia to help restore it's economy through a series of pinpoint government investments and keep it afloat in the war against the Caliphate, which was becoming rather unpopular in the United Kingdom. Britannia reminds these two small, yet rich, nations of the expensive favors that they have performed for them in the past, and implore them to return these favors through the granting of these said packages.

A new clone army has just been raised in German Guiana. However, as most of the other, previous clones had been slaughtered in the deadly gas attack against the Caliphate, they simply replace the old clone army.

 

Speaking of which, Normandy, Iberia, and the United Kingdom all mourn for their diseased loved ones who had been slaughtered in the German biological attack. Most were professional soldiers, and unfortunently, constituted almost half of the professional British army.

 

Protests and riots break out across the United Kingdom. Anti-German sentiment is common.

 

Who would sacrifice the lives of their own soldiers and those of her allies in such a manner...?

 

 

This only helps to fuel the rising British Socialist Party, which supports withdrawal from the Greater Imperium of Europa, withdrawal from the war, and the severing of diplomatic ties with Germany, royal marriage or no.

 

However, the Empress makes it clear that this will not be tolerated. They would remain with Greater Europa and continue the war in which the British had already invested so much. However, the German Kaiser is warned by the Imperial Parliament of Britannia that if he or his troops dare to pull such a move and misuse British trust in their German brothers and sisters again, the political consequences might be... less than pleasant. And their beloved Empress would be unable to stop them.

 

In the meantime, various Home Guard units are rallied in Iberia, calling upon 350,000 unemployed men and women to commence regular training and guard the Iberian-Morrocan border at Iberia's coastal border fortresses; the British could not pay them much, but they would provide to them 3 meals a day, warm bunks, and enough money (less than minimum wage) to supplement their welfare checks and keep their families alive back at home. British Home Guard units also begin regular training, the British government fearing that they may soon have to deploy these regional armies in defense of the Empire.

 

 

200,000 regular troops spearheaded by the newly revived 2nd Knights Division, meanwhile, along with appropriate supplies and vehicles to support them, make their way to Crete in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, preparing for something...

 

All regular units are equipped with the new quantum suits, which have oxygen tanks built into them for chemical, extraterrestrial, underwater, and biological warfare. Those without these suits continue to use their regular body armor and H.ARM suits, which combined with newly issued gas masks should protect them from the biological weapon unleashed by the Germans.

 

The remaining 334,000 troops in North Africa, spearheaded by elements of the 1st Knights Division, prepare to march with the American survivors to wherever they are to attack next after they are issued the said new body armor and gas masks, although the British government continuously debates withdrawal amongst itself as public opinion of the war steadily declines.

Despite all that has been going on, the Empress and her husband, King Joao of Iberia, do attend the wedding of the Queen of Argentina and the King of Australia, as she is on very good terms with both monarchs and the King is her traditional vassal.

 

After the ceremony, she personally presents two historical gifts to the newly married monarchs.

 

The first is that of a golden frog, an artifact acquired by the Spanish National Museum that was reminiscent of pre-Columbian Argentina. The King of Iberia presents this to the Queen of the Argentines as a symbol of good will from House Windsor towards the newlyweds.

 

 

The Empress of Britannia, at the same time, presents an ordinary-looking, albeit old, spyglass to the King of Australia.

 

With a warm smile, she explains to the King,

 

"This belonged to the very first European man who first sighted Australia, John. Captain James Cook. Although his... descendant... held it in secretly and in high regard as a family heirloom for many years, he agreed that it would be much more admired by the people of Australia than by a British family who kept such a valuable article in their attic. Treasure it, and guard it well."

 

 

Afterwards, the Empress and the King would state to the newlyweds in private that they would like to arrange a marriage alliance between their two families. They suggest a betrothalment between their grandson, Prince Peter, the second-born son of the German Kaiserin Victoria II and her husband the Kaiser of Germany, and their firstborn daughter, if they have one. However, if they do not have a daughter and have only a son, they could reverse the marriage proposal. It is a topic for further discussion to be brought up again in about 20 or so years, obviously, but still one that House Windsor wishes to pursue.

 

The Empress of Britannia also wants to discuss how she is viewed in Australia with the King of Australia, which would be done in private and out of sight from the media.

Finally, the city of Lauria has been completed, as well as the new Victoria Station II!

 

 

As envisioned, Victoria Station II is a powerful and grand bastion of British ingenuity. Once again, the British own the largest and most advanced space station in all of space. Designed to hold a complement of almost 400 assorted Churchill and Sabre Starfighters and with three ship dry-docks near it and compatible docking ports installed on it, Victoria Station II is soon advertised as "The Gateway to the Stars" as it promises commercial travel opportunities across Earth's various space possessions.

 

Victoria Station II is armored to the teeth with all sorts of defensive platforms and weapons installed on and around it, and manual VI shutoffs are installed in both engineering and in station operations so as to prevent a VI takeover or malfunction as had happened to the original Victoria Station. It is also armed with cold fusion generators, which power the huge station's immense functions.

 

 

As for the shining Imperial City of Lauria in the Azores, it is expected to attract hundreds of thousands, if not at least one or two million, of new immigrants all across the Imperium Britannia. It is expected that this new city shall provide countless jobs to the Empire's people, and it's population will elevate the Azores from territorial to provincial status.

The Crash

 

This day had been not only the day where the markets crashed, but the day so many committed suicide as a result of the crash. The war in Africa had strained the market for too long, the response of the Federations public is not to blame the corporations or the government of their home nation, rather a lot of resentment is given to The Caliphate and European Imperium due to the offensive war being conducted. The Federations free press suggests to the public that the Caliphate intended to steamroll Africa and take it within a year, it had been a decade since the war started and neither side showed any sign of budging, they report what was supposed to be a quick victory turned into ten years of war.

 

It is a near miss for the Australasian Federations reigning Conservative Party, they managed to avoid getting the blame and the Socialist Labour Party which had sought long to rid the Conservatives from power and drastically reform the Government couldn't muster the popular support that it is the fault of the reigning Government due to the fact all the problems can be traced back to the African War which many in the private sector had invested in and not seen a return due to the length of the war. However this doesn't mean the Federations Government won't react, they use the vast reserves saved up over a long period of time to reinvest in the nation, they start with the miners of the nation, paying their full pensions for when they retire to get them back working. Then money is put into small businesses to encourage growth, MP's Salaries are frozen along with bankers bonuses, money is invested in agriculture to support farmers to keep them working. Manufacturing is heavily invested in, namely automotive companies which have factories in Australia so that they can keep their factories open. Construction projects begin in Sydney to facade the crash.

 

In the Federation

 

Unemployment had just hit a rise to 10% being just over 6 million people in the Federations entirety, the miners keep their jobs but many small businesses and stores shut down, along with the financial sector taking a huge hit, despite their best efforts many factories shut down. Cuts hit Foreign Aid and a few other Government departments but they mostly try to avoid austerity with rebuilding the economy. Price freezes hit basic things like Milk, Bread, Water and certain types of crops and meat so farmers make profit and they stay affordable for the working citizen. Regulations are put on lenders, loans would be harder to get if you have a bad credit history, spending of money is encouraged to encourage general growth.

 

The Military is hit with no cuts, however higher ranking officers have their pay cut slightly and those who have other incomes that exceed their officers salaries are surrendered as they don't need them. The King of Australia himself pays for his own wedding stating it comes from his personal wealth rather than that of the public, this news receives mixed reactions some believe it to be good for him to rely on his own amassed wealth rather than tax money, others feel disgusted that he is so rich that he can afford this, although the latter is a small minority of hardline leftists. The Invasion in the Andean Federation grinds to a halt, the army stay in Santa Helena and begin to join the South American Federation in negotiating terms with the Andeans.

 

As a result of the market crash and unemployment those from poorer backgrounds turn to crime, quickly being swallowed up by Organized Crime that had been in Australia for a long time, Italian-Australians form Mafia type organizations in Melbourn, in Sydney Irish-Australians form their own variation of the Irish Mob, Chinese-Australians form their own Triad Organizations in Sydney, Melbourn and in the Gold Coast. It looks as if a new era of Organized Crime is about to hit, even with some Nobles forming their own organizations to compete with the Mafia, Mob and Triads. The Japanese Yakuza still however has no presence in Australia as of yet. 

 

The Royal Wedding

 

The Wedding between John of Australia and Victoria of Argentina was set to be the most expensive Royal Wedding in history, all paid for by John Dorahy the King of Australia and his vast wealth in mining, private military and augmentation. Invitations are sent to all leaders across the globe, as a Country of Neutrality all leaders of the nation are expected to conduct themselves accordingly regardless of the war. With an elaborate ceremony set up in Sydney with a reception planned in the Royal Palace just outside the city grounds. 

 

The Moon

 

The Australasian Federation as a show that they are still able to advance ever onward's despite the economic depression start up their own Moon Base, using one of their Flagships to transport the Colony Parts, it is a success as the Federation has set up a Colony on Titan, the moon was nothing. Their base is far away from Japans base to ensure not to upset their allies, within a few months the first mining operations begin.

The protests

Tension grew at the mining site of Aberpergywm. In the midst a few protesters arrived at the estimated time of around 11:30, these claimed to be the 'Welsh Separatist Faction' a group claiming to be heavily focused upon the independence of Wales due to scarce resources being ripped from one of the last remaining mines at Aberpergwym by the imperium brittainia. The protesters demand that the mines be free'd from Britannia's iron fist.

 

 

 

Uprising

The protests soon dispersed around 18:15. Reports of violence began in the West-Midlands in the metropolis of Birmingham, groups of masked, armed rioters sporting the welsh flag were seen at around 19:50, these rioters seemed to be armed heavily, with weapons ranging from machetes to improvised grenades. These rioters began to lay waste to the central area of Dudley, causing numerous civilian injuries and multiple casualties.

 

 

 

Request for Aid

The Welsh separatist faction reach out towards the Caliphate and towards the eastern empire for assistance in their cause. The faction require advanced weaponry and vehicular units, in the promise that success will cause us to drop out of the current War, weakening the Imperium Brittainia further.

Almost every nation was shocked. The Stock Market had crashed, and their economies along with it. Nations would soon find that just creating jobs and investing money will not work.  They had to make money to spend it. At the rate most are going, their revenue was barely enough to fund their research and army. Let alone having enough to invest, nations armies would start to deteriorate. They had simple choices, cut down spending and still go through their worst depression, or spiral ever downwards...

 

Britain and any other nation doing a different tact would be sorely disappointed. They could not persuade their rich elite to invest in them, or to generally part with any money. They wanted to stay rich, and not throw money into a tanking economy. The British house of lords would be outraged at this new approach. They might even start to lean towards the socialist...

 

In Britannia, the socialist clamored for more. They argued building large towers to 'personify' their glory was useless. They wanted full government employment, that would create a multitude of jobs for everyone. Let us work on bridges and factories, not sky scrapers they cried! As for the traditionalist, they would not invest in a tanking economy. Repairs on the American space station were slowed, them using a foreign station to repair their entire fleet (Done on page 95.)

 

The Japanese would find making a plasma canon to expensive with low economies now-a-days.

 

Porto was rich and small, a perfect state to avoid large term crashes. However their stock market would be slow to start due to the sheer amount of disinterest in stocks now. However some small and even medium sized companies begin to move in. Porto may not be rich thanks to the crash, but they were riding high above the others.

 

The Islamic Caliphate, American Empire, Germany, Britannia, Japan, and India would heavily feel economic strain. With such a large army disposition, they had to pay a lot of men. It didn't help that the Caliphate's African land was war torn and contested, blocking off nearly half of the their lands taxes. They would have to think of a solution, or win the damned war already. 

 

​The Welsh Separatist would gain some headway, but the people wanted government, not anarchy. They wanted to try for a peaceful exit from the Imperium. Instead their youth is running around causing havoc and getting killed. Take a more moderate approach was their motto. They would also be disgusted with the Welsh resistance leaders wanting Islamic and Asian help. They were still technically in the Imperium, they have had Welshmen slaughtered by those brutes. The Separatist were walking on a tight-rope, with the Imperium to one side, the Asians/Muslims to the other, and their own people under them...

A Response to the Welsh Movements

In 1997, Hong Kong had been politically stolen, against their will, from the United Kingdom by China. This had marked the climax of the British Empire's bone-chilling decline.

Now large portions of Western Europe, as well as countless overseas provinces and territories, were under the democratic dominion of the great Imperium Britannia. Their culture was at the top of the world. And the British government had taken a vow: ​not one inch of land would be lost. After all, the influx of independence referendums in the late 20th century had nearly lead to the United Kingdom being toppled from the world's stage.

Now even Ireland was united with the United Kingdom; but apparently, the Welsh separatists had other ideas... To do such a thing would have been utterly unacceptable during the times of the most tranquil peace. But during a world war, the THIRD World War...? This was utterly unacceptable.

The Welsh separatists were being selfish and greedy. For hundreds of years, Wales had sworn allegiance to England and the United Kingdom. And it had chosen now to make its move.

"Separatist scum," growled Major General Lord Henry Greenwich to one of his Colonels as he and his army of mostly moderately-trained Scottish and English Home Guardsmen mobilized at the eastern border of Wales.

"They shall pay for their insolence, and for their anti-nationalism. The sun never sets on the British Empire... except on its' traitors, of course."

30,000 professional soldiers, along with 60 tanks, 40 SPGs, 75 EMU mechs and 50 Churchill fighters are prepared to be recalled from Crete, accompanied by a number of Royal Navy ships, although a number small enough that their removal would not affect naval dominance nor operations in the Mediterranean.

The ships in the returning task force and in the Mediterranean would move to board any foreign ship that enters Welsh waters or is bound for Wales without their consent. Every ship would be carefully boarded and carefully checked by marines; if any had weapons or war supplies laden upon them, they would be confiscated and the ships would be escorted out of British waters. A missive is sent out to all nations, stating quite firmly that to aid the Welsh Separatists would be quite suicidal towards their relations with the Imperium Britannia. Their movement is illegal and corrupt, as it seems to promote violence and Islam rather than moderatism and threatens the security of the United Kingdom and, by extension, the Imperium Britannia.

Meanwhile, almost 70,000 reserve British Home Guardsmen along with support from vehicles, armored police units, and air support prepare to impose martial law in the rioting areas of Wales along with the recalled professional troops recalled from the front so as to suppress the riots at Dudley and at Alberpergywm.

Wellington dropships and the Royal Postal Service begin to deliver/drop propaganda posters into Wales, attempting to win the population to their side of the conflict. They read:

The financial crisis, already, is slowly being resolved by the Imperial Parliament; is it really worth it, to rebel against one of the most prestigiously powerful nations on Earth, just to become a destitute, meaningless country that wields little power and respect amongst the international community?

And at what cost to your own people will you attempt to achieve this 'independence'?" he air quotes. "I air quote 'independence' because believe it or not, YOU ALREADY WEILD IT! The United Kingdom is not only made up of England and Scotland, but of all English speaking British isles and cultural factions, including the Welsh, Cornwallish, and Irish! We are all equal, and wield as much power amongst ourselves as is proportional to our political power and size!

Who will you turn to for money and weapons? The Caliphate? China? Japan? I would hate to break it to you, but the Caliphate has no weapons to spare, nor ships or trading routes to send them to you. Besides; much of Wales is Christian. Would you dare to risk excommunication by the Pope and betrayal of Jesus Christ in this Holy Crusade to vanquish evil? And the Easterners, currently, are attempting to avoid conflict with Britannia in the current war. Would they break their neutrality in favor of you?

Everyone else would much rather support their major ally, Britannia, rather than a small, insignificant faction within Wales.

So in conclusion, I say to the loyalist citizens of Wales, 'Keep loyal, and keep united'. Our welsh brothers have been with us for years, and we hope for them to remain with us as partners for many more years in our equal imperial, yet democratic, federation of realms. We love the Welsh people, and wish to peacefully come to terms with them... Therefore, delegates from the Imperial government will attempt to reason with your Parliament. Hopefully, our leaders can help to save the day."

Britannia calls to order an Emergency Council of Greater Europa with delegates from the United American Empire as guests, detailing the new Welsh movement. They secretly declare it a threat to Britannia and to Greater Europa itself at the council, and ask for sanctions and military support against the Welsh Separatists should more of their population join the radicalist movement. They also appeal to the Princedom of Porto and the Order of St. George to prepare to send aid and military support from Iberia to crush the separatist movement should the Welsh be reported to be turning towards the Caliphate and their allies.

Welsh soldiers in the British Imperial Legionary Force are carefully watched by Military Intelligence, and are prepared to be removed from duty and be detained at a moment's notice should they begin to speak of rebelling against the United Kingdom or the Imperium to which they are sworn.

Delegates from the Imperial government would be willing to meet with the Welsh parliament to discuss the possibility of granting further devolved parliamentary powers to them, or even granting them self-governing provincial or dominion status, or possibly even realm status after a number of decades. But full and immediate republican independence would be completely and totally out of the question for the British government, and violent succession was certainly beyond tolerance.

They immediately begin to manufacture the machines and design games of their own to release to the world stage and further boost the already powerful influence of their culture across the world. Dcomba could not have had such a financial crisis hit him at a better time.

 

What were already large scale reforms were made more extreme with the insecurity of recent years. Precious metals like Gold were now ignored, and left in the ground, many miners rallying against the corporations that they worked for. The unions that marched against the corporations did so in vain: Nothing could change the plummeting prices. The government soon intervened, making public almost all corporations, taking their work forces, and marching them to where they were needed. Money was quickly replaced with payment in resources, and with a great deal of the workforce now employed by the government, had their pays first put towards their taxes, then towards benefits and the rest, and then largely payed for with ration-esque cards that would secure them food, furniture, or the rest.

 

With people now becoming unemployed, this becomes a boon for the military: recruitment drives now find themselves with more potential, and factories are built to create more arms. Competitions are held to secure a spot in Elonisburg, on Mars, but its very hard to determine who will go: With its population now nearing 45 000 after only a few years, it is apparent that a break may need to be taken so that more land surrounding can be terraformed.

 

Dcomba points out often that there is no need for currency on Mars, and if the African people are to consider it the way to the future, they should embrace the change of payment. It is hoped this drive will see Africa have a low unemployment rate, and maintain a great production (Mod please).

 

International Affairs

 

Japan is offered the use of Africa's advanced terraforming technology to repair the land it has lost in recent disasters, if they pull out of the war immediately, at least against Africa.

 

It asks for India and China to approach it as well, so that terms can be established to get them off of African land.

 

Another call is made for men to reinforce Lagos immediately.

A video transmission would be received from the Welsh separatists, it would interrupt the BBC news as the self-proclaimed 'liberator' would sit masked at a table, the welsh flag strung across the wall behind him, he'd begin to speak.

 

"For too long now have we been ignored, our protests were in vain so we have decided to act. You strip our resources from our mines, you take what is rightfully ours with force and ignorance, you spit on our culture and stamp out our right of freedom, what you call democracy is what we call corruption and enslavement, so I say this. Allow us to be free, allow us to rid the oppressors from our great Wales!

 

And to the people of Wales, I speak solely to you! Your prince of Wales, who has been held up to you as a shining example of patriarchy and royalty, he is none of this, he is the puppet of Brittainia, a great oppressor! You have been supplied with him to prevent you from tearing down the corrupt foundations of Brittainia! Do you wish to suffer in his chains for all your lives? I'd assume not, so Brittainia! Rid our land of your deceit and corruption, for a new age has begun.. withdraw your forces, withdraw your puppets and oppressors and we shall stop these so called 'attacks' in the name of peace." The transmission would cut off, leaving only the tattered flag of Wales representative of the Welsh seperatists.
