Flagships

Panther Class Carrier

Level 1 Authorization Required

The Panther is the result of Orion Avionic's first venture into ships that could compete with the flagships of various rising fleets. The result: A powerful framework that could be built far faster than any of its competitors while still massive enough to easily compete with the flagships of other nations such as the HMS Windsor's Wrath or the Yuki-Tennō. The Panther can be easily adapted to fit a variety of roles during its construction depending on what exactly the buyer needs. The Panther has three main variants.

 

The Flagship Variant produces a ship that can fill about any given role. The Flagship varient sports a variety of heavy armaments that allow it to strike heavily against other ships, though it lacks the forward-facing main cannon installed on many other Orion ships. However, its rotary turrets and heavy batteries on either flank of the hull allow it to pound any ship exposed to the Panthers powerful broadside. In addition to this powerful ship-to-ship armament, the Panther Flagship carries two hangars. One carries a host of 48 Orion Starfighters, the other dedicated to ground deployment capabilities. It holds a large host of military equipment including Orion MAPs and several coming vehicles in addition to the drop ships needed to get them to surface. Of course, these hangars may be outfitted with a nation's own hardware.

 

While the Starcraft Carrier and Ground Assault Carrier variants still carry significant anti-ship capabilities, the ships sacrifice some of it to hold two additional hangars. All four hangars are dedicated to the variants respective specialization. 

Cougar Class Battlecruiser

Level 1 Authorization Required

The Cougar is the close follower of the Panther to Orion's available ships to contend among humanities flagships. As far as mass goes, the Cougar is fully capable of standing toe-to-toe to the national flagships it contends with. Unlike the Panther, the Cougar isn't build for versatility. It's made for two purposes: spearhead the formations of allies fleets and destroy the formations of the enemy's.

 

On its stern the Cougar is armed with a pair of primary plasma cannon; one standard anti-ship cannon found on most Orion ships, and a larger PASP-Mk.III, a hyrbid plasma-based weapon that acts more like a large rail-gun. This weapon allows the Cougar to open combat at longer ranges than most of humanity's ships. Along either of the Cougar's flanks is a broadside just as deadly as the primary armament. Though lacking the top-and-bottomside rotary turrets most Orion ships carry, the Cougar carries a broadside of 36 MASP Ballistic Batteries on either flank in addition to a large host of lighter turrets to mow down enemy fighters and frigates.

Capital Ships

Bobcat Light Cruiser/Freighter

The Bobcat was initially developed with the intention of it filling a heavy frigate's role, but after then project was plagued with multiple redesigns and changes, it became apparent that its size and structure would be better suited to a simple freighter or a support cruiser - so that's exactly what Orion built. The Bobcat only has two variants. Primarily, it's a freighter, able to carry significantly more than a cargo Jaguar, though it lacks much armament at all. Secondly, the Bobcat can be outfitted with a real armament to partake in combat. It mostly carries light turrets to act as a shield against small craft, though it also carries a pair of rotary turrets allowing it to capably engage hostile frigates and lighter capital ships.

Jaguar Class Multi-Role Support Cruiser

The Jaguar is Orion Avionic's most popular hull, which can be fitted with various modules to serve a roll anywhere from a support frigate to a stasis refrigerator. These ships are a reliable choice for any nation who chooses to use them, often proving to be as or more effective than government-constructed starships, if less custom. The Jaguar can be bought with any two of the following modules:

Jaguar-II Multi-Role Heavy Cruiser

Level 2 Authorization Required

The Jaguar-II is built on a heavier frame than its Jaguar-I predecessor. Equipped with the latest in Orion's cold-fusion propulsion systems and other aerospace tech, the Jaguar-II is able to carry more armor and heavier armaments than its younger brother, which in turn allows it to fill the role of a heavy cruiser or battlecruiser. The Jaguar-II is of course a general purpose hull, and as such can be equipped with the same modules as the Jaguar-I, save three premium modules. The Jguar-II carries three modules, save the poremium modules, which occupy the entire ship.

 

-Jaguar-II Heavy Combat System-

The Heavy Combat System prepares a Jaguar-II for almost any situation the ship could encounter. specifically built around destroying enemy capital ships. The HCS equips a Jaguar-II with an impressive array of three main cannons on its stern, giving it a notable capability to decimate an enemy formation from long range before it gets into the gritty-close combat scenarios of space combat. Either side of the hull is then lined with a row of 12 heavy plasma batteries and 24 rotary dual-barreled turrets, giving it close range capabilities against most threats. The top and bottom of the ship are armed with an array of 36 tri-barreled rotary turrets to defend against fighters and other small craft.

 

-Jaguar-II Heavy Anti-Ship Platform-

The HASP is all about delivering as much punch as possible at all ranges, and taking just as much. It sports the same three-cannon array as the Heavy Combat System, but now carries four smaller secondary plasma cannons on the top and bottom of the ship, allowing it to rip apart any ship broadside to it at close range. Either side is armed with an array of repeating batteries to pepper close enemy ships with a barrage of plasma and armor piercing shells.

 

-Jaguar-II Mining Barge-

The mining module on the Jaguar is fairly self-explanatory. The Jaguar sacrifices most of its armament to afford a large amount of cargo storage and mining equipment. While it isn't self-sustaining, it can carry on a mission and support a crew for a rather long time and take the spoils back to a base.

Mammoth Spacecraft Carrier

The role of the Mammoth Spacecraft Carrier should be one that is apparent, though it can be outfitted to carry cargo rather than craft. The three hangars may carry Lynxes from planet to planet, or carry a host of 72 Orion starfighters. In addition, the Mammoth may carry a Leopard frigate on its underside. Save this ability, it is outdone by the Panther in every way, though it is constructed faster, cheaper, and doesn't require special authorization. Though it has plenty of armor, the Mammoth's point defense capabilities aren't enough to reliably protect itself against other ships, and thus it relies on its starfighter and Leopard compliment.

Tiger Class Fast-Attack Destroyer

The Tiger Class Destroyer is little more than a floating weapons system. The Tiger is designed to move quickly about the large ships it follows into combat, using its single main cannon to quickly dispatch hostile frigates and cruisers and blow through the armor of heavier ships. Other than its main cannon, the Tiger is armed with only a few phalanx turrets to ward off enemy fighters. The Tiger is built to quickly dart about the field harassing the enemy fleet at key points. It's light frame and powerful engines give it supreme speed and maneuverability, which allows it to easily stay out of the danger posed by heavy anti-ship weaponry, though it should be kept out of combat with a ship's close-ranged point defense. 

Leopard Frigates

Level 1 Authorization Required for Leopard-IIs, Leopard-I available publicly.

The Leopard-I and Leopard-II serve a role that the Lynx cannot due to its lack of interplanetary capability. Leopards act as small maneuverable frigates to defend the bigger ships from small craft and fighters and to support capital ships during an attack. The Leopards are notable for a couple of qualities; firstly, they can dock on the underside of a Mammoth and be transported by the mothership, and likely other nations could dock them on their own ships. Secondly, they act as a hybrid between HALOs and Starships in that they can enter atmosphere and descend to a low altitude for a short period of time - they cannot stop to hover or land without special solid boosters.

 

The variations of the Leopard-II are identical to the Leopard-I. The difference comes on the Leopard-II's use of LIONs and LIONIIs, as well as cold fusion reactors and engines.

 

All Frigates are armed with an additional 16 small miniguns for combat enemy fighters and missiles.

 

Leopard Support Frigate

 

Support Frigates are armed with versatility in mind. Central on the hull on top and bottom are four dual-barreled batteries firing plasma rounds at a decent rate of fire with a velocity high enough to reliably hit small and maneuverable craft, but not fighters. They can also reliably cause damage to most capital ships, but it would be no keystone in a fight. Additionally, the frigate is armed with a pair of tri-barreled rotary turrets firing smaller metal rounds at a quicker pace. Primarily, these turrets are to target space bombers and small starships.

 

Leopard Assault Frigate

 

For a pretty penny, the Leopard-I Support Frigate can be upgraded to the Assault Frigate. The difference here lies in the primary armament. The two topside turrets are moved farther back on the hull and a main cannon takes their original spot. This fires large plasma rounds that give it an edge against capital ships and in long-range combat. It lacks the same stopping power as the guns on a true destroyer, but it's a suitable replacement for those who cannot afford a destroyer. Additionally, four extra tri-barreled turrets are added to the ship's stern to protect its vulnerable engines.

 

Leopard Phalanx Frigate

 

Alternatively, one could order a Leopard-I Phalanx. This variant trades in all turrets and batteries for sixteen fast firing tetra-barreled turrets firing plasma slugs. Though lacking the muzzle velocity of other guns, this turret can still pack a punch in projectile quantity, especially when it comes into combat with other frigates, fighters, bombers, gunboats, or other small enemy craft in close range. When up close, it can do considerable harm to capital ships by targeting vulnerable areas, but shouldn't be depended on in a prolonged fight with capital ships.

 

 

 

The cloaking tech from Brightsword is installed on all Coalition Fleet ships, and all repairs are completed. The fleet remains in orbit above Mars until final preparations for the offensive are finished.

 

Shortly after the raid on the Red Skies Project in the USSR, a number files are received at Polaris Cosmodrome. Somebody has sent Orion the schematics for a module to produce an energy shield encompassing large ships. Somebody has made Dr. Messer a very happy man. Installation of these modules begins on the under-construction Panther and standing Coalition Fleet ships. (USSR Approved)

 

At the offer of work from Orion, workers from all regions flock in an attempt to join up at Orion dockyards, hoping for a chance to start over and earn a decent living on Mars. Orion is forced to stem the flow of immigrants aboard Orion and British shuttles, but the Mars Colony Alpha continues to expand to accomodate the extra workers, including a pair of new cold-fusion reactors to add energy to the system. The wealth of additional labor significantly speeds up the Ursa Cosmodrome expansion. (12 pages)

 

Two Endeavor-Class Destroyers are finished for Britain and handed over to their command, though they are requested to stay on station on earth until the Panther is finished. The resources dedicated to their construction is immediately changed to contribute to the Panther under construction, reducing the construction time to just a few months. (1 page.)

The ICC was silent for a long while, trying to preserve its booming economic and political state as most countries succumb to disorder. The economic crash was a remarkable force to be reckoned with for the Psuedo-Socialist economy of the ICC, but communism proved very worthy in these situations. As most capitalist industries either raise prices higher to cope with the weakened economy or lower them whilst sacrificing their budget, the communist industry of the ICC remained to have a solid budget and demand inland. Its natural cheap price, attractive in foreign countries as well.

 

 

The investment bank and Industrial Union made the Communist economic blob solid, although more dependant on Comintern members. State-owned enterprises started to buy collapsing manufacturers and then move the industry towards the less Industrialized Laos and Thailand. Forcing European conglomerates to buy Communist goods, increasing the influence of the ICC within Europe. Nguyen, wanted nothing else.

 

 

To cope with the loss of budget, the ICC increases the salary with 12% to cope with the inflation and excessive quantity of goods so that the spending culture remained strong, this would result into higher prices towards Canada as they produced their weaponry for them. The fragile world economy cornered the ICC as they could not afford funding communist parties overseas. The days of ICC's excessive spending were over.

 

 

With the Tunh snipers and Minh submarines in mass production alongside the Railgun and LION weaponry from the USAC era, the ICC gladly received Charles-grade Armour and T-84 rifles from the UK.   Meanwhile, the ICC military makes some commissions:

The outrageous acts by North Korea set a shameful precedent for Communism throughout the world. It was within Nguyen's interests to ensure that North Korea was tamed whilst following the Communist guidelines of conduct. The UK was a despised, but essential partner. The eventual collapse would do serious harm to the ICC. Thus, Nguyen spoke to the Comintern about North Korea:

The United Kingdom, unlike many governments, provides the correct institutions and tools for those that disagree with the government to change it through legal means. Instead of attempting to compromise, rebels wish to collapse the very foundations of the rather hollow icon of European civility.  Rather hollow, than hostile. These violent collectives are being supported by a state, that is proving to be a violent collective itself. Something like that is simply intolerable.

 

The DPRK is going to retract its support towards the rebel factions in the United Kingdom, the DPRK will seek membership within the Comintern so that it can reform itself to a proper Communist Country, or it shall relive its existential threat again. "

The Rise of a Rebellion

 

The populist seems to grow more and more divided every day. Communist and Nationalist collide in protest, these seem to turn more and more deadly as they arise, riots break out in certain areas of the cities and in out lying villages.

Several arrests have already been made, some lower ranking officers were publicly executed for Treason. While the source and organizing of such malcontents is still being investigated one can only speculate some higher official is at hand behind such things.

 

All throughout Russia and Indochina posters and graffiti arise within lower parts of the cities and government buildings!

In response to the riots in the USSR, Orion operatives at Andromeda Cosmodrome keep a closer watch on the facility's walls, all Orion employee's and USSR officials working with them are advised to stay within the complex as much as possible. Given the important nature of the construction inside, the gates remain closed to most visitors and security is kept at maximum for now.

THE IMPERIUM BRITANNIA

The Prime Minister is disappointed in the failed investment initiatives by the British government.

In Parliament, she reminds both parties on behalf of the Empress that the Americans had constructed many great monuments during the Great Depression. Yes, factories needed to be built as well to supplement the growing British infastructure, but the statues would continue as planned.

The Empress, secretly, also had plans for these monumental statues of Britannia when completed... ((5 turns until completion))

Construction on the Mars colony goes surprisingly well. It should be ready within two and a half years, creating quite a few industrial jobs. ((6 Turns)) There is one thing that both parties agree on: Space was vital to the Imperium's survival as a major power, and also vital to political prestige and elections leverage.

The unemployment rate, due to the new construction of the magnificent Imperial City of Lauria and the Victoria Station II, has dropped by one percent to only 13%. Not a large drop, but a sizable notice.

But more had to be done...

The Traditionalists bluntly refuse to institute full government work control; they were rich businessmen, and this would be a very dangerous move indeed for them. However, they were willing to work with the Socialists and with the Empress to draft a NEW plan for the crisis, refusing to invest what money they had into a faltering economy.

And so they did.

New factories all across the Imperium Britannia are built in Iberia, France, Newfoundland, and England especially. They are expected to increase British materials and war production, although they are also geared towards peacetime production as well.

Upon release, these factories will be used to create materials designed to make a profit, yet are practical. Such as farming/mining supplies and the likes.

Attempts would also be made to modernize the Iberian countryside, and install a cold fusion/renewable energy power grid across all of Britannian Europe similar to that of the United Kingdom's. This would provide many new jobs and help to appease the socialists in Parliament, as well as bolster the economy in the process.

It seemed as though the Welsh movement was unwilling to even consider the very prospect of peace.

Therefore, they are classified by rebels publicly over BBC World News, and the Welsh attacks are caught up to by 30,000 of battle hardened professional soldiers, as well as 60,000 Home Guardsmen, set on defending England from the vagabonds.

As the armed group travels to the North, they are given a final chance to surrender their arms and peacefully discuss their separation peacefully. But it soon becomes apparent that the Welsh Parliament is not supporting this group...

Dalton Gunships begin to circle the armed rioters, their LION II repeating plasma weapons and their chainguns always trained on the vagabonds. However, they have been given strict orders not to fire upon them unless fired upon first.

Instead, the Imperium and armored police forces attempt to expertly encircle the armed group en route to Manchester, 5,000 of the professional soldiers standing before them and 5,000 of the armored policemen and fairly trained English Home Guardsmen behind them as they enter the city's outskirts. The rest are held in reserve, ready to step in to assist if need be. The young men are told to stand down and go home whilst their elders discuss the matter of Welsh independence

civilly. If they did not, the soldiers and armored policemen would move to arrest the young men, no matter the cost.

Notably, the British are armed with quantum suits, LIONCUB rifles, tear gas, sleeping gas, and EMU mechs, as well as tanks, whereas the rioters are armed with rudimentary weapons and makeshift vehicles. They are unbelievably outgunned.

Part of the gathered force of soldiers is delegated to the North near Scotland in case riots break out, upon rumors of the Scottish Purity Party attempting to turn Scottish Home Guardsmen against them! The entire English Home Guard is now rallied to combat the separatists, and the British prepare to withdraw from the war against the Caliphate at any moment to combat the separatist factions.

Immediately, the Scottish Home Guardsmen are deactivated, with military police and MI6 agents inserted amongst the units. Many of the lords wouldn't dare rebel against the Empress anyways; they know the hand that feeds the mouth. Those that were founding to be considering it would be stripped of their commands and the weapons in said units would be seized.

English Home Guardsmen are immediately mobilized across the entire country, the only trained militia that could be trusted. They begin training each and every day, and prepare for the worst: to have to defend the United Kingdom.

More and more naval ships would be recalled; in fact, all that can be spared yet still maintain naval dominance in the Mediterranean. They would assume a similar policy as has been adopted with Wales, patrolling the Scottish coastline and boarding cargo ships bound for Scotland. Marines would board foreign ships, seize shipments of military equipment as they found them and escorting the ships out of British waters.

The Cosmodrome in Southern Scotland is patrolled by almost 5,000 peacekeeping English Home Guard, armored police, and Regular Troops, providing security for the English company's facility, which is vital to the BSM's efforts in the war against ReclaimerCo.

Negotiations begin with the separatists. Wales and Scotland are offered further devolved parliaments, free to make their own domestic decisions over their respective areas of land within the United Kingdom. The voices of the peoples in parliament had been heard, and there was no need for violence... yet.

"Beth, I don't know. I just don't know. Over the years I've reported a lot of wars to the British public, but a war of succession between the United Kingdom and Wales and Scotland, who just last year were singing the praises of her majesty the Empress, and of the Third British Empire?

Unimaginable! Unthinkable! There hasn't been this much of a chance of succession since the 2010s! I think her majesty has her work cut out for her... And I think the government believes that this war will interfere too much in resolving the situation here. Not to mention the economic uproar around the world."

"And what do you think will happen with the succession movements, James?"

America is told of the withdrawal, and apologies are made. Although they are asked to provide possible support should it come to it in stifling the separatism in the United Kingdom should it come to it, they understand if they must continue fighting the war against the Caliphate.

The British too shall continue to fight against the Caliphate in the air and at sea, but they must gradually withdraw from the war. Until then, the allied forces are free to use the British soldiers in North Africa as need be, though reckless decisions would not be obeyed.

The Australasian Federation

 

The War in South America

 

The Australasian Federation had managed to get Ecuador to surrender on fair terms with Government figures not being arrested, although many are under investigation for corruption. Neighboring Columbia has seen Cocaine run through the Country for the past century through illegal means. The Ecuador National Police force is put under heavy investigation while the occupation continues as it has been well known they are very corrupt, it can be assumed that many from Ecuador see this as a positive move, the invaders not interfering with the democratic process whatsoever.

 

Hundreds of Police Officers and Officials are put under arrest pending trial with the judges and jury chosen carefully by the occupiers to ensure that no bias is shown against them at they will be judged accordingly based on the facts. The Australasian Federation sends a missive to officials in the armed forces based in Peru and the local Governments of Peru to surrender to the Federation to finally bring the Andean Confederation and unite most of South America under the Argentine South American Federation. 

 

The Guerrilla War on Titan 

 

The Federation had switched to irregular warfare, they were outnumbered on the moon of Titan but if they used strategy carefully they wouldn't be outgunned. Using extensive tunnel networks around their Titan Territory they'd ambush Neo-Russian Patrols on the Roads built there, shipments of fuel would go missing from the Colony and be given to the Guerrilla fighters, due to the Tunnel Network the Neo-Russians would be uncertain where the Australasian Forces were operating from. This was standard defense methods that is approved as part of Federation Military Doctrine, with a smaller force strike fast and retreat basing a lot of this from extracts from the Art of War namely the line "He who tries to defend everything, defends nothing." with a flexible force and knowledge of the terrain the Russians were in for a costly occupation. 

 

In the Federation 

 

Things seemed to be working at the least, the economy was getting back on track, all nations had been hit quite hard, although the newer, younger industrialized nations were hit harder than those already established. It had so far cost the Federation half of its gold reserve it had been saving for half a century to drive up the prices, with the mines re-opened the miners satisfied their pensions are safe and paid for already. The Financial Institutions were recovering the Nobility and the general aristocracy who had amassed their wealth were bailing them out taking many shares with them. 

 

The Australasian Federation agree's to open up relations with the Democratic Peoples Republic of North Korea, allowing them to set up an embassy in Sydney. No further agreements are made with the North Koreans as of yet as their international motives are still unknown, they Prime Minister and Foreign Ministry wishes to exercise Caution, the Kim Dynasty was proving to continue strong in their hermit kingdom. 

 

The Australasian Federation sends four platoons of Lancelot Mechs to assist the Imperium Britannia, complete with Pilots, these units would be put under British Command until such a time they are recalled or released from British service. The Imperium Britannia is asked if they wished to have the support of REX Knights if the conflict escalates. The Australasian Federation decides to speak up about the Welsh and Scottish Separatist Organizations "In this day and age, nations that would be like Scotland and Wales are simply not strong enough to survive, the Australasian Federation was formed for that reason, we had to take the smaller nations of Oceania and Polynesia and invite them to join in on our idea to make a strong nation united together. The British Isles must remain united for them to remain prosperous especially in this economic and Political Climate."

The Welsh Separatist faction accept the United Kingdoms offer of further devolved parliaments on the conditions that the current rioters are free to return to Aberpergwm without arrest or delay. With this the Welsh Separatist Faction wish to own the Southern part of Wales (Past the area of Aberystwyth) as a seperate nation to the imperium Brittainia, the coastal town of Swansea becoming its capital. With this the Faction are free to own their own military and that the home-guard residing in Southern Wales shall be installed in the new Welsh Separatist Marine Force which shall be funded by the imperium Brittainia. With this the Welsh Separatist Faction agree to a mutual defence pact along with the ability to become a member of the Commonwealth of Nations.

 

 

 

If these terms then the riots will continue, with improved technology acquired by air support from the North Korean Faction, the riots will become more frequent and attacks will take places in the more populated cities of England until the Welsh Separatists Factions demands are met.

The Ethiopian line would begin to push forward, with their allies in St. George, into Sudan. Economic Crisis

 

The economic recession had hurt Ethiopia. Millions of men and women lost their jobs, and had taken to the streets in anger. Ezekias was determined to resolve this issue as quickly as he could.

 

Already a deal had been made with Orion Avionics, with a 200 square kilometer area being allotted to create a facility for the company. The land would be located in Dire Dawa. Millions of workers from the local area would help in creating this facility, providing jobs that the country desperately needed. In return, the nation would pay for half of the facility’s building cost.

 

Along with the Orion facility, builders were being hired to rebuild the war torn areas of Ethiopia, and restore the country’s natural beauty. Ezekias also ordered for the construction of a grand cathedral to be built in Addis Ababa, yet again providing millions of jobs to unemployed men and women. ((Mod needed for pages))

 

He would also issue an order, stating that multiple government agencies were to be formed, rewarding people for any work they have done. Miners that presented precious metals or gems to their local government jeweler would be paid for their goods, and offered a job mining for the government.

 

The recession would also bring about an increased crowd at military recruitment centers. With millions of men across the country looking to get work, the government would use this opportunity to put up propaganda, inviting people to sign up for the army, and to fight in the Crusade against the Caliphate. In response to the Separatist movements within the British Imperium, Ezekias would send a letter to the empress herself. Hopefully, she would read it.

 

“Your Imperial Majesty,

On behalf of the people of Ethiopia, I wish to show my gratitude for your aid in this Crusade. Your soldiers have made quite the difference in North Africa, and only God knows where we would be without your support. I wish to offer Ethiopian support in your war against the Separatists. I cannot guarantee ground support, but I can guarantee monetary supplies and air support, should you need it.”

 

Copies of this letter would be sent to the nations within the Coalition against the Caliphate, each addressing the leaders of their respective countries. This would include the American Empire, the German Empire, and the Republic of Africa.

 

Research was doing well. The scientists working for the government had just discovered a breakthrough in their development of a nuclear weapon. It wouldn’t be long now before Africa had itself a nuke. ((1 page left!!!))

War was hell. But losing was death and Hera would not die. When It had finally come back online there had been blood coating the sands - Turk blood. What had previously been a weak grasp on a line centered on Ankara had been transformed into a mighty push, miles had fallen each day until the ancient city of Antioch was reached.  That itself had offered little resistance when faced with the might of the combined Hellenic forces. The troops had then swivelled around to face the Syrian border; attacking Aleppo. Fighting around the city as tough and it had still not fallen to the approaching forces.

 

The time however had finally arrived for the release of the Herodatus Station. It was, in the broad sense of the term, an orbital weapons satellite akin to the ones the Indians deployed. This was however no city leveller, not the type of weapon to destroy armies. It was a  weapon with advanced aiming, able to hit specific locations, easily reloadable through space ship transportations and equipped with missiles, rockets and lasers. Its first deployment is in the siege of Aleppo, firing the entire salvo at all defensive and fortified locations in the city in one huge attempt to break down the city's defences. After such is fired, it is handed over to Hera.

 

With these new breakthroughs in military technology, it is expected that Hera will advance much further than before, a final goal of the southern Israeli border is set for this next push.

 

With the final annexation of the Italian parts of the LHS, the Hellenic Republic is a great state. The Italian troops are immediately pulled out of North Africa at an astounding rate, retreating half of their forces to Tunis while the other move to garrison Jewish Cyprus. The troops there are then placed beneath overall Heran command in an amphibious assault on the Lebanon's coastal border - accompanied by attack drones and tanks.

 

The economic crash had been bad for the Greeks, but not as bad as it could have potentially been. With the Islamic genocide having occurred all unemployed are put on re-inhabiting and rebuilding towns and cities that were previously almost 100% Muslim, the new taxes of these regions and industry that is now being conquered moving to restoring this. However, many are put out of unemployment and the sale of nationalised art works and statues found in Italy is arranged to provide a secondary income stream.

 

The annexation of Italy also reveals another goal; the unification of the Schismatic sides of Orthodox and Catholic. Following 'talks' with the Papal court a compromise is reached. A new Patriarch is appointed, raised from the ranks of the Hellenic Cabinet, and ruling from a new seat in Olympia. The seats of Constantinople and Rome are declared equal, along with the one of Antioch and the soon to be reclaimed bases of Jerusalem and Alexandria. This change promises equality for this new, Christian faith, and the nations of Europe are all invited to perform the necessary new conversions or be declared heretical by the greater Christian religion.

 

A final missive is delivered, to the nation of Britain:

 

".. Following the successful annexation of the Turkish states, Antioch, and soon to be Syria, we find ourselves holding a different standpoint upon the existence of the Jewish Cypriot state. We are perfectly content with its existence, however it being as a British protectorate when a former state of the Hellenes is something we desire. Talks are acceptable, however our goal currently is to see the gradual transfer of the protectorate to maintaining some sort of Hellenic control and advisory body."

The Islamic Caliphate

 

 

 

The Caliph had been convinced the war was winnable. The Germans had wiped out their allies and most of their army in their bid to destroy the Caliphate's northern forces, and in the south Kenya had fallen under Muslim rule, and Lagos was due to fall shortly. His enemies suffered from the same war exhaustion that he did, and desired a lasting peace eventually. And so he maintained his composure as the plague ravaged Egypt, as he instituted quarantines and begged forgiveness for the sin of burning infected corpses. The subsaharan armies fought on, while the remaining soldiers in North Africa spread out and cleared as many infected areas as possible.

 

His will remained iron as Cairo became a cesspool of disease, as he was forced to quarantine himself and his court inside the palace. Outside, the STU was brutally maintaining some semblance of order, but the city was a shadow of what it had been just weeks before.

 

But all that vanished now, as he stood looking through the glass of the palace hospital's clean room. Inside, coughing blood onto immaculate white sheets, was his first wife, Fatima. For three days Ahmed had not left this spot. He remembered the day they had first met: she had been given to him by his father after the takeover of Arabia, and today was possibly the last remaining member of the House of Saud. He remembered the night he had removed her veil, to reveal the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes upon. There was pain in her eyes: Caliph Ibrahim had had her father and her father's father executed just days before. But she smiled weakly, all the same.

 

The marriage was not consummated that night, nor the night after. But the two of them spoke at length, and eventually whatever ill will she held towards her husband vanished. Helplessly in love, Ahmed treated his wife as the queen she would one day be, and behind closed doors she had increasingly helped him to fulfill his duties to the realm and to his family.

 

He remembered when the time had come to assume the throne, how even as he prepared to have his incapable father assassinated, she argued against it, fighting him to preserve the life of the man who had slaughtered her family. When he went through with it anyway, the new queen could only accept it, but her disappointment was so palpable that Ahmed never had an enemy of the state surreptitiously assassinated again.

 

He remembered so many things, so many images: her bathing in the Nile, her gardening through the day with the slaves, and the birth of his first son, the look of pure joy on her face as she saw her child. She was Fatima, his first and his favorite wife.

 

But all these memories only seem bitter to the Caliph now, as she lays suffering and just out of reach. She had caught the disease from a servant who had snuck out of the palace quarantine and brought it back with her, and since then she has only gotten worse. Her hacking coughs now come every few seconds, and for the first time in days, she looks to the window, and gazes at her husband with pleading eyes. Then a final fit wracks her body, and she is still.

 

Ahmed sinks to his knees and squeezes his eyes shut, as a sob escapes from his mouth. It is only minutes before the doctors open the door wearing hazmat suits, and begin to take her to be burned.

"Not her."

He stumbles to his feet, and without protection walks to her body, and hoists her onto his shoulders. She would be buried, and he would do it himself.

 

The next morning, Caliph Ahmed Abd Al-Qadir abdicates the throne to his thirteen year old son, before developing his own symptoms of the disease...

Mod Post

The Caliph was dying and with the abdication to his son, Caliph Abbas I, his old advisors saw a way out of this endless war. They quickly moved upon the young Caliph, an impressionable boy who wanted to do nothing but to honor his mother and father. In this way, the advisors took advantage of him. They argued that peace would be the ultimate way to honor them and save many more children like himself from being orphaned. 

They warned him of the great Greek machine to the east and the levelling of Antioch. Already Greeks were approaching the Golan Heights in Israel, and it wouldn't be long before Cairo itself was under siege by the Germans. Peace would have to be made or even more might die. No, they would all die. 55,000,000 Muslims were already dead under his father's watch, how many more would die beneath him?

Peace had to be made.

The Caliph organizes himself and makes his first address to the world, calling for peace in Africa and Turkey. A conference would be called and held in Medina. There the Caliphate would negotiate terms of peace.
