North Korea is surprised that Hera seems to not affect their computerised weaponry or vehicular units, This may be because of the different software used by North Korea or perhaps some sort of pact was formed before all of this. In the midst of this confusion, North Korea forms an even stronger alliance.....

 

 

A small squadron of L.R.O.D Drop ships are primed and prepared with an Elite Squadron of North Korea's finest: The Dog's of War. Around 10-15 of these elite soldiers are sent on a crucial mission to neutralise 6 Relays in Kyoto. The Drop Ships are then quickly dispatched southwards towards Taiwan. 

 

The drop-ships soared through the sky's almost unnoticed at such incredible speeds, the commander nodded to his troops as they fearlessly jumped from the drop-ship. The armoured dogs fell into the bushes, completely unseen during the long, dark Taiwanese night. They took their positions, snipers focused upon the Taiwanese guard, two shots and they fell, the commander beckoned and they followed, padding through dry dust and steppe tufts.

 

 

Ten of them advanced, quickly making their way over to the 5 relay, they plunged a device upon it's walls, this device was to give them a quick entrance. It burnt through the walls and they rushed inside, hiding behind whatever cover they could find, they couldn't risk being seen nor shooting a gun, it would of been a death sentence. A guard approached, 198-Cho lunged forth, removing a tactical knife from their shoulder, plunging it into their necks, tossing the body aside, they charged forth with zeal, they opened fire upon everyone in the Area while one from each group snook away, planting the bomb in an appropriate area and priming it, the firefight would give the bomb just enough time to initiate without being found before The groups returned to their rendezvous Point and travelling back to North Korea, leaving nothing but 6 destroyed Relays in there tracks.

The Siege of The Planet Europa

Orion's fleet sat aloft over the planet, watching as the Neo-Russians dropped one by one as a result of their orbital bombardment. The battle on the ground was slowly turning in their favor and the Neo-Russians were losing morale, especially after the discovery that their leader, Dimitri, was dead. Apparently the Neo-Russian leader had been speaking to Reclaimer's CEO on Ceres when he was suddenly 'disposed' of.

Now all the Coalition needed to do was wait.

But something was waking on the South pole of the Jovian Moon.

As the British may recall, a soft heat signature was discovered on the moon several years ago, though nothing was ever found of it. For days now, the Russians were picking up a similar signal, but now they were receiving a message, highly coded. The Russians would make immediate effort to decode the message from the South.

The British and Orion receive the message as well, but they would also have to decode the message.

With the all besides the squad now trapped within the base in Wales now in North Korea it would come to a clear surprise as Marcus Powell opens his laptop aboard the airplane to a feint, repetative 'beep'.

Now sighing he would nod upon the transmission before ending it with ''Understood Captain.''

Not only this the remnants have now offered a change to their appearance, now named.

Event Team

 

Hera was brutally effective in it's opening attacks. All across the world information filtered back. She seemed so advanced as to bust any system, and could. This true being was immensely powerful, and subconsciously humans looked up to things like that. Cults worshipping Hera as the true god and ruler erupted everywhere. No one could explain it, normal seeming people became ravenous zealots. Radicals joined in, and reached higher heights. Moderates and liberals were all blinded, everyone could be found worshipping this new god. They all had one goal, to make Hera the ruler of their solar system. Contacting all the other cells, and with Hera's help, the different cults communicate. Like any holy circuit, they must all be connected.

 

The creed of Hera is heard on every street corner of the world. In Taiwan a man is arrested for killing three police, in New York City a cult occupies a subway for three hours, in Sydney financial members are quietly being killed off. All around death and confusion is spread. People are turning on each other, denying the truth of Hera. Denying the new light shed on space. How civilization seemingly existed elsewhere. All these questions, and no one's government had answers. Hera could. Hera just might. 

 

All nations are starting to be drastically hurt. It seems Hera cults strike exactly where they are most weak. They seemed to know everything, and were using it to their advantage. Shutting down cities, raiding military armories, killing off entire villages. The atrocities were growing. In Germany is was particularly bad. There French saw Hera and the greeks as a potential end to the decade long regime. They still had no love for the Germans, and used the soaring Hera cult attacks as a cover up. The FLA emerges from the shadows, armed and trained. Not enough to cause huge worry, Germany however now had a thorn in their side just as they enter a war with Greece and Hera. All their emps and other systems being attacked was a huge shock as well. 

 

The Taiwanese army would have to be lowered by a large margin if they ever wish to make progress socially. So many draftees and soldiers drained their funds, on top of a massive navy. In a matter of months they may not be able to pay their troops, then who knows what could happen.

Alpha Centauri

 

It would cause an eerie silence amongst  the ten first humans on Phaethon. Multiple satellites they deployed in orbit around the planet picked up a vessel and imaged it. A vessel originating definitely not from Earth.

 

 

Outsizing with what they originally arrived on the planet by a multitude, but seemingly unaware the vessel is then seen to enter the atmosphere of the planet slowly, only a short distance away from the original landing site of the Falklands. As the crew checks the foreign skies, they see the vessel flying directly over their heads, towards north. The satellites in orbit who were monitoring the whole happening soon detect a facility, obviously a factory, with a landing port for a vessel like the one seen. Definitely the first humans, but not the first intelligent beings on this world it seems.

 

Curious, yet fascinating.

Brightsword Defense Incorporated

 

"This data breach, from this supposed 'Hera' contraption that those damned Greeks made is perhaps the worst thing that has ever happened to this corporation. This cannot be permitted to happen again..."

 

The spokesperson of Brightsword, an until-now relatively unknown Swiss entrepreneur Heinrich Riepe addresses Puerto Rico over a rushed television broadcast put out as soon as the attack was identified.

 

"...And so, until we can be sure that no attack like this will happen again, Puerto Rico will be officially taken off the grid."

 

With that, the broadcast went dark. So did most other modes of communication...

Brightsword moves to clear an area around Puerto Rico where no information can be transferred in or out. Any satellites orbiting over Puerto Rico, or within broadcasting distance are shot down by Glaives stripped of computer controlling systems as soon as possible, landing swiftly after each operation before having their systems reset to factory defaults once more.

 

Puerto Rican international internet and phone service is suspended indefinitely, perhaps for years. Domestic service is still enabled, for convenience purposes. Information transfer in and out of Puerto Rico is to be conducted by letter only, all funneled through the state postal service instated by Brightsword, and checked for contraband information transfer devices, flashdrives, and et cetera.

 

All Brightsword assets across the globe are recalled to Puerto Rico, each one being ordered to shut down their drones, remove remote control functionality from their aircraft, and throw away all cellular devices and such paraphernalia that can be used to install anything to the enclosed Puerto Rican network.

 

All Brightsword files, in-progress research projects, blueprints, and so on so forth are copied down to paper and stored away in non-electronically locked vaults. Digital archives are disconnected from the internal network, and made inaccessible except from a console in a vault under the Brightsword corporate headquarters in Puerto Rico.

 

Drone operating systems are copied to smaller data caches, and stored away like the paper copies of the data archives. However, from about 50% of the active drones, their operating systems are fully deleted from the drone itself. Those are put in storage for the time being, as those will not be used.

 

The other approximately fifty percent of Brightsword drone stock is put to work digging caverns under the Puerto Rican mountains, for an unspecified reason, likely to house something such as a corporate headquarters, like the old Reclaimer ones in Transylvania.

 

Not very trusting of money, what with the virulent presence of Hera within all networks, Brightsword moves to liquidate it's cash into useful materials to be stockpiled, or perhaps resold at a later date.

 

A secretive research project is undertaken, in a remote area of the Carribean, around which a wi-fi jammer is deployed, and anything getting within fifty miles of said location is accosted and escorted away, or destroyed. New, unused computers are bought and used for the research, built with no access to the Internet under any circumstances and inaccessible except from a designated console. (7 pages)

 

A less secret undertaking is taken to develop a newer OS for drone interfacing, to improve reaction speeds and to ensure that Hera doesn't recognize it. The project is still done in a connection dead zone, on computers built to not receive information from anywhere except the console they're designated to be accessed from. (5 pages)

 

Research on the "buzz droid" continues, but is converted to a more secretive form, akin to the research of the new OS. Being so close to complete, it makes no sense to cancel. (1 page, 93-105)

THE IMPERIUM BRITANNIA

 

 

Britannia was in more danger than it had been since the First Iberian War.

 

In Britain, a Transcendalist faction had begun to gather very minor political support, although not nearly enough to overpower the Traditionalists and the Catholics combined in their conservative coalition.

 

Hera had tapped into information bases successfully, the protective system being overpowered. Britannia however had not suffered largely from Hera, other than by the Transcendalist Cult in the somewhat more liberal United Kingdom.

 

Parliament immediately votes to enact a State of Emergency, giving the Empress and her Prime Minister full authority to do anything they so wished for it's duration.

 

2 million Iberian Home Guardsmen in Europe begin to increase their training sessions to the weekends, rather than the monthly sessions that they had previously had. Loyalist Normans begin to pour into the 3rd Norman Army, further boosting their numbers.

 

The borders of the island of Great Britain had become increasingly fortified over the past four decades, and would prove to be an Inverse Atlantic Wall for Hera's forces should they defeat Germany and storm into British territory. Massive turrets had been set in place as per some of the fortification preparations, dating back to the time of King Charles.

 

 

With the blockade of Wales ended, more ships are dispatched to the cities of Tangiers and Gibraltar. The admiralty is highly anticipant of an attack by the Greek Navy, and many Mediterranean ships also rally near British Corsica and the Balearic Islands. Extra professional troops are dispatched to defend these islands.

 

Alexander had protected the extraterrestrial possessions, for reasons unknown. Probably not good ones, as the Empress speculated. Nevertheless, the order is given:

 

Datelinks between the extraterrestrial possessions and Britannia were severed, except for a small datalink between an isolated computer on the moon in the governor's office and London. Military liaisons are sent to Mars and the Moon, and their defensive capacities and garrisons are almost tripled. The BSM command is also sent to the Moon, so that they can continue to command the British space possessions.

 

Fearing the worst to come, a copy of the Magna Carta is secretly sent to Mars, far away from the action of Earth. The Prince of Wales, his wife Josephine, and their three children take the Royal Yacht on "holiday" to Mars as well to attempt to attract the public's minds away from Hera for at least a few moments, though this is in truth secretly to persevere the royal line should the rest of the House of Windsor die on Earth.

 

Datalinks between Britannia and other nations that are non-essential are quickly severed, and as a response to the Japanese shooting of satellites out of the sky, the British prepare to do the same, although they do not as they ponder the repercussions of doing so.

 

The nuclear arsenal, safely isolated, is on alert. The nuclear submarines are still dispatched to the far corners of the world, and the land arsenal of air-based weapons and ICBMs is carefully kept off the grid.

 

The Imperial Grand Army begins to mobilize many of it's professional reserves, which had in truth already been prepared for combat due to the recent rebellions in Scotland and Wales, leaving 150,000 to assist the British Home Guard in continuing to quell the Scottish rebellion, deploying 700,000 along the border of Eastern France in preparation to either assist the Germans or, in the worst possible case, defend Normandy from Greek/Hera invasion. 300,000 are dispatched to the eastern coast of Iberia to reinforce the powerful coastal defense forts there, and they are to be assisted by 200,000 Iberian Home Guardsmen.

 

The forces in overseas possessions and Morocco remain in place, and an emergency draft is prepared. State of the art equipment is manufactured and given to the Home Guard as it's produced in the factories of Iberia.

ALPHA CENTUARI AND SPACE

 

On Alpha Centauri, the Commodore in charge of the British resources of the expedition attempts to hail the alien ship after they land at their facility in all known languages, including Atlantean, in addition to sending a datafile of the standard interspecies greeting plate made famous by the Voyager expeditions to their ship, although of course without the location of Earth engraved into it. The aliens are told in all languages that the British Empire and the Argentine Kingdom come in peace, and wish no harm upon them, as their mission is that of exploration.

 

 

Of course, this is done from one of the satellites in orbit, so as not to give away the location of the expeditionary team on the surface. Rover teams and drones are sent from various directions to peacefully investigate the factory. Of course they are armed with quantum suits and LIONCUB rifles, as well as with LION IIs, but they are under orders not to attack the alien species unless they are attacked first.

 

They are equipped with the knowledge of sign language and with translator gadgets, although it is unknown if they will get through to the aliens, or even encounter them.

 

The news is relayed back to the BSM on the Moon, though it will likely take about a week even with the communications bouys to reach them. In turn, they would share the information with Utopia Planetia on Mars and with the RSF, although they would be hesitant to alert Hera to the presence of other intelligent lifeforms in the galaxy, and hold off on contacting Earth about the matter.

 

Meanwhile, in orbit around Europa, fighters and soldiers are dispatched to investigate the strange energy reading from the southern pole. They are ready for everything, and begin to decode the message as quickly as possible through the supercomputers aboard the fleet ships.

 

Ground troops, fighters, and bombardment ships continue to attack the Russio-Reclaimer forces. They demand now that they either surrender and live, or die.

 

They prepare to take the colony and set up terraforming systems underneath the great domes of Europa.

 

Also, to note, hearing of the Hera takeover of so many of Earth's systems, the Coalition fleet immediately cuts their datelinks with Earth, although maintaining a close channel to the BSM which in turn communicates with earth through the secure dataline. The analog computer shutoff switch and controls are prepared to be pulled at a moment's notice. Victoria Station II already has decided to sever their datalink, relying on obtaining their information via word of mouth through travelers passing through the station and through yet another secure, isolated dataline to London.

 

 

Notably, the two battlecruisers being produced have finally been completed, and make their way to the moon, prepared to defend either Earth, Victoria Station II, or the moon, depending where they may be needed. They were specifically designed to fight ReclaimerCo as flagships, and have the enhanced Australian VI loaded into them for combat purposes, although it is kept offline for the moment. Work now begins on producing two more cruisers for the fleet.

The attempt to crush the rebellion in Scotland continues.

Diplomatic channels are opened up between the Imperium and ReclaimerCo, to discuss the new threat that Hera presents to them all. The BSM offers to meet Reclaimer diplomats at a neutral location in the asteroid belt, or at the Anglo-Argentine Bastile in the belt.

 

Though they still highly suspect the newly renamed Peacekeepers of being responsible in some regard for what had happened in Britain, the Empress and Prime Minister accept their list, and privately agree to set aside their differences for the duration of the conflict, although they remind them that St. George still has their support in most of their endeavors, save for their war against the Caliphate.

Alpha Centauri

 

The teams approach the facility through the lush forest surrounding it without any hindrance. Closing in they approach something what seems to be a mineshaft and quarry section. Humanoid in appearance a good two dozen of workers scurry about, drilling, laying down pipes and power lines, setting up machines and engines. They only wear light suits with breathing gear, which seems to suffice to keep them safe in this lush, but foreign enviroment. Apparently one or two of them spot the recon teams, but appear to be completely oblivious to them. One could guess they probably assume it's one of their own, as their appearance is so similar to humans. In the distance behind the quarry and mineshaft, the rather huge space vessel can be seen on the landing bay, small forklifts unloading crates and loading in others. On the ridge above the quarry sits a single, what it seems like, guardsman, reading in a digital notepad. The rifle he has leaned against his chair appears to use ballistic projectiles and looks a lot like the variants on Earth. The guardsmen has not realized the recon teams, too busy with his device.

 

The radio message hits silence at first, then with a bit of a noise in the background someone replies in a language which sounds a lot like butchered Atlantean. The voice also sounds a lot like someone who isn't very experienced for such events and just happened to stumble over it.

 

"This is ship Handar Dro. What are you and who speaking? I sorry, Ancient tongue not good. Where you? Want to meet. We friendly. We Terraskolan. You?"

QUICK RESPONSE

 

"This is Commodore Daniel Belfast, of the HMS Falklands. Of course we shall meet with you," he smiles as his comments are translated into Atlantean.

 

"We have much to discuss, sir. On behalf of the Great British Empire, the Kingdom of Argentina, and all of the peoples of the Sol System, we accept your meeting. We shall meet at the following coordinates."

 

Coordinates are relayed to the alien commander halfway between their two bases. Commodore Belfast embarks in a rover with 4 guards, in addition to the Argentine leader of their part of the expedition should they accept, to make first contact with the aliens.

Given orders, the recon teams immediately return to base, not wishing to give a false impression of hostility towards their new aquantences.

Short Post

As all things are, the appearance of cults had been predicted by Hera, but she had calculated only a 40% likelihood of their being this extensive. The data would have to be noted and worked into the human predictive algorithms...and it was done, in a nanosecond.

Those worldwide that have chosen to follow the AI into the future are rewarded: to monitor every one and analyze what exactly would benefit them is the equivalent effort of twitching a finger for Hera. Some, she makes rich. Others win elections or get jobs as their opponents are sabotaged in the most undetectable of ways. To these people, Hera is not the silent god that all other systems of belief promote: she is real, and generous. She gives them all they ever wanted, and all she asks is when she appears to them, sometimes, late at night, that they do what she asks.

And so the followers of the new supreme being gain influence, and carry out her will upon the nations of the world. Some are militants in the underground, while others openly advocate their positions. To submit to the authority of an AI becomes an acceptable option in some areas, as methods of public discussion increasingly become compromised by Hera's followers or by Hera herself.

Republic of South Wales

 

 

Despite the recent attacks by HERA, the republic remains mostly unaffected due to their wise decision to create mostly non-computerized technology that is cost effective yet comes at the cost of efficiency, their vehicles now being mostly active and the production of their tactical gear still in effect, the Republican army remains fully equipped and in fact reaches out to countries most effected by the attack to offer their equipment in trade for funds.

 

The newly created H.O.A.V's would be seen patrolling the industrialized streets, citizens watch in awe as the heavy diesel-powered vehicles storm by, driven by the terrifying Gorfrdwr-Hedwch. The Government instantly pass stricter law enforcement in the industrialized cities, crime rates now being more common due to the industry. Despite rarity, murder and antisocial resistance is made punishable by death, public executions becoming more common.

Peacekeepers in North Korea:

Presently waiting on word from Marcus, a freshly painted Boeing C-17 upon a public airport, the colours Grey and black, almost digital camo hides within a Hanger, Awaiting word on both North Korea and Africa for movement allowance, other then this the Peacekeepers have followed the law precisely. The hanger serving as a 'Base' of operations for the Peacekeepers until they are allowed to pass, without permission under the regime, the Peacekeepers have denied anybody from North Korea to join them, yet this has not stopped foreigners from joining, the 79 Men now 97, the groups weapons remain given freely to the North Koreans until they have the movement passes they so long for.

Still under a firm eye from the Welsh several transportation trucks would enter and exit the building, Some containing 'new recruits', some more.. Advanced weaponry from the standardised rifles, within a few weeks, The base would require construction supplies to build a new Barracks as the Peacekeeper, 'Welsh-Guard' grows from a mere 16, to 89, the weaponry stored would stay within the armoury until used for training,  

 

The Captain of the Welsh Unit now opening communications to the welsh, offering a contract for the nearest industrial city, to help safeguard it from Crime and impose the new laws, The contract being for (2 Pages), no funding necessary aside from Five H.O.A.V's and permission to further improve their dominion of recruiting E.G. Posters, and T.V Programming advertisement. 

Further however insisting they are not mercenaries.

 

 

 

Marcus:

a single plane touches down at Heathrow airport, an italian made shoe steps upon the ground, a man, now wearing a black suit, and tie, with aviator glasses, and a briefcase -Cuffed- to his wrist held, following him, four unarmed men, wearing the uniform of a multinational organisation yet unconfirmed follow suit, alongside -Six- males, wearing orange jumpsuits. 

 

As he leaves the airport, a limo awaits him, now hoping to take him towards number ten, downing street, inside the limo, the top-side of the suitcase is opened up, revealing a similar computer once more,  once more sending an encoded message, yet this time 'Live-chat' towards the Prime minister and empress of the Imperium,

Onboard the Freighter is mass amounts of construction and fabrications needed to establish a colony.

The Jaguar II is loaded with Preserved Seeds, Wheat, Corn, Watermelons ect.. Also along with this, fertilized eggs of various domesticated animals and approximately 900 fertilized Human Embryos are stored on board.

South American Federation

 

 

The South american federation was shocked only a bit to see some cultists to rise up in the federations cities and in an attempt to halt this the government quickly makes Hera related things illegal and pulls troops from some of the army to hunt down and knock out growing Hera cultist influence. The good thing would be that the South American Federation would most likely not have been influenced greatly by Hera but still pretty damaged as they rush to shut all things down that Hera could jump into making the Federation relatively silent to the world beside Radio connections which are tested and then set up. The army of the federation would also be the least affected as all their vehicles and infantry including the air force would be manned and not allow Hera to take them over so that was a plus for the Federation. Soon the federation makes an announcement to their population that due to Hera they would be going relatively silent to the world to combat the Hera threat unless something were to change and soldiers would be brought home and put on stand by besides the occasional Hera Cultist hunts thanks to possible tips given by the more loyal citizens.

 

 

Research and Production

 

Research goes pretty much unhindered although just a bit slowed to create a better, faster and strong Fusion Coil/Fusion Engine along with Anti gravity tech (5 pages) while Production took a slightly decent hit from Hera's toying as they had to reset everything to make Hera unable to mess with their things while the construction was going. The Colonial ship and the two battle cruisers go without halt after everything is fixed and quickly construction is continued. (6 pages)

 

 

South American Station

 

The South American Federation's space station is also put offline for a short time to reboot everything to make it a closed network besides the occasional radio message down to command.
