Username Origins

Quartzen

So, I believe there was a thread about this a while back, but I can no longer seem to find it. Basically.. where did your username come from? Why did you choose it? Post your username origin here.

The origin of my own username is simple. In late 2014, I played a lot of Minecraft: Pocket Edition. I loved the game, and when my friend, Manuel [[Aenuel in game]], had to quit the PC version due to real life problems, I was offered his account. I decided to rename it, and chose Quartzen. My favorite block in both Pocket Edition and now PC was Quartz, and I added the suffix '-en' to turn the words meaning to 'to look like quartz', much like 'ashen', meaning 'to look like ash'. And here I am!

So where'd yours come from?

In middle school, the only email I had was the one I got from making an AIM account, so I decided to make a new one. I wanted to do [email protected], but decided that would look weird. Instead, I added an _ and a 3 to make it look more interesting. No regrets since.

CosmicWhaleShark is the answer to the question, "If you could be any animal, what would you be?"

I gave it a lot of thought, I pondered that question for a while, and by a while I mean a few minutes that felt like a while.

Finally I answered with a whale shark in space, this received many follow up questions and I ended up actually basically making (bullshit) lore for a whale shark being within the void of space.

When MC name changes came around I felt it was time for a change of my own. I had the wardog4445 tag for a number of years, and while I still hold that tag close to my heart, the 4445 portion always annoyed me. I didn't want a gamer tag with any numbers in it. So on a whim I took a look to see if CosmicWhaleShark was available and so it was, and now it's no longer available, because I took it.

"Joe Blackman" is the name my brother used when he started making mixtapes, or I think it's an evolution of a previous name he used during that period of his mixtape making.

Fireheart519 is two separate parts. Fireheart was a name from a book called Warriors that I read during my childhood. Then from there 519 represents my birthday of May nineteenth.

I 'borrowed' Lirinya from a friend/ex who designed a character based on me. It...kind of stuck.

Originally I used kittenaid, which was just something random I made when I played GaiaOnline...I've now changed that to Ayniril...10 points to your house if you can figure out what it means.

Got the Giratina part because it's my favourite pokemon and I can relate to it (lonely yet destructive). Use to go by the username of Giratina2777 in some other games. Went to create an email... Hotmail/Outlook recommended the Xable part so I decided to use that. And thus, GiratinaXable was born.

My original account was Kenyan_Kid, which originated from me asking my brother what I should name my account. Intense_Death was given to me by my friend, Intense_Toxicity, when the original was cracked.
