Royal Response To The Adrian Rebellion

*Doran Thane reads over the Kings note, stands with a brief chuckle and walks towards his bathroom, placing the paper on the counter to use for a later date, he mumbles* "And so begins the fall of the king, may he burn long after his death."

"Here lies my opinions.. With my army. - crown loyalists." Ilaustius claps

"I just can't take an army seriously if they claim their forces are waiting in keeps during open field battles where the only army I have seen from them has fell to the blade of Adria. Come now, you can't win a war by being a snooty brat on a high horse.." Says Illy with a sigh

"Saltstone lads.. If I wanted to kill myself I would first climb up to your ego.. Then jump down to your IQ."

"Huh I guess they'll count Garrisons not sallying out of their castles that were built to literally deter raids of that sought to meet their forces as victories while losing forces to arrow fire as victories. I long for an open field battle to test their mettle." says Bryce hearing of the official royal response

"Ah so Savoy is filled with sodomites, as you long for another butt-******* in the field? I suppose it'd be safer for you to sit in your keeps with the garrisons..."

Edric retorts.

"My, this is a mess."

"I just want it to be over." Branns lips tugged into a frown as he finished his random thought of the day and continued onwards working autonomously in his forge.

I am surely aware of the disgust you must know feel, of the unsettling sink in your stomach, at the words you have no doubt only just read. It is with even greater distaste I must once more put my thoughts down as words, to denounce this rogue, inept man whom I myself once served in vain.

Furthermore, Olivier the Idle has the boldness to insult my brother, for turning against the man who would not even respond to his personal inquiries nor request for meetings, and claims our savage mistreatment at the hands of the crown (look merely, I implore you, to the statements of my kin above) to be "profitable".

Judge not, lest ye yourself fall under the same scrutiny, Olivier. You are as fiendish as you are hypocritical...

You claim we are a threat to Orenian safety, when you yourself harm and seize Orenians at will, and have actively (or, more fitting perhaps, inactively) torn apart your very kingdom through your idle slovenliness. You declare us an enemy of the world, while you yourself hold the Elvish states in bondage.  You declare us as a blunder to civilization, you vile snake, when you have shown through your actions know nothing of what it means to be civilized.

Publius would read this, and after keeping down his dinner, would pen a response to Arik Vanir the mad, simply not tolerating the steaming pile of crap he chooses to spread! Copies would be printed and made available too, for all to take.

"Arik Vanir,

I will not even give you the luxury of a formal greeting. You slander the king on a basis in which you yourself, as well as your kin, could easily be looked at as even more guilty of than the King himself.

You yourself were pressured out of the position I now hold for your disgusting inability and inactivity in the work, allowing Petrus to become a ghost town, with less people in it than Felsen after it was evacuated. In my service to the Second Akovian Regiment, I had to take over the operation and leadership of the damned thing after Duke Vasili Vanir became too busy for it, DESPITE not even operating ANY of his ducal lands at all. I ran it for nearly a decade, not receiving payment for 8 of those years personally, and the men themselves not being given payment because of the sluggish reforms that ending up failing, and effectively ending the military capabilities of Akovia.

Finally, after having to give up your job as Lord Steward due to your sinfully slothful conduct, did you finally return to Karovia. There, all that was built for the longest time was a keep, until you finally took into service my brother Jace Bracchus, who has had to lead and build up you and your brother's land through hard work with nothing but insult from you, and silence from him. Even then, you two have failed to delegate him the authority he needs in both of your absences, nearly seeing the Duchy fall apart on several occasions due to a complete failure to even actively communicate.

I also do not want you, nor your brother to talk a second about morals when you consistently turn on liege lords for power. I am shocked that anyone could trust you with how many Carrion's took to being spited by the Vanir family.

You speak also of being civilized of all things, when you and your family have openly prided itself in not adhering to customs such as table manners and proper speech. Even more disgusting is your rant about the kidnapping of Brittanus, which was done independently of orders, not as an action the state supported or wished to pursue. If you had actually done what you rage so hard at the crown for not doing, as in, communicated, you would have found that out, and could have seen proper retribution, but instead, fight us.

Do not make a habit of speaking of justice either, when the people you have sided with attacked the citizens of Felsen and killed without any discrimination hundreds of folks on several occasions, all because two of their family members were killed by de Solas.

Orenian safety I suppose is not actually the priority of Adrians and Northmen, making you both liars. That, or the leadership between you both have completely failed. I would like to see neither running the Oren I live in.

I had vouched for justice despite that too, on behalf of the Adrians.

You could not even maintain Staunton loyalty, stripping from them everything for a weak attempt at creating a Duchy, which was granted to you against the advise of Duke Hugues Sarkozic. You call us vile snakes, when they were offered almost the same thing we are willing to give by you, but since they accepted the offer from us, you berate them.

As for a complete failure to respond to inquiries and letters, I simply need to refer you back to whence there was issue in your Duchy on what the Staunton families responsibilities and capabilities were. It took over two saints days for even a response to an issue that nearly saw a revolt from the very beginning, and even longer for a presence. Those very same people are in actual revolt now, to show you the feelings of your people, though of course, you are quick to disown them for not sharing your opinion like a true tyrant, unlike the the tyranny of Olivier, which leaves the vassals largely to their own devices.

You have long depended on the Bracchus family to do your jobs for you, not because you gave them to us, but your absence forced us to step up where you stepped down.

I demand you cease any talk of slothful behavior, lest you and your brother accept guilt also. Lest of course, you are the poor leaders I think you are, and choose hypocrisy over honesty.

A sloth may speak till he loses his voice, but a man will work until he succeeds or fails. I expect actions now, not words.

In shame to having served your house and name,

- His Excellency, Publius Bracchus"

Britannus would comment in surprise after his uncle reads the letter, "This man must be the most uninformed privy counselor in the history of humanity! The Prince himself merely watched as I was beaten, clearly he would've done something if a Vanir was being hurt by his men."

Britannus would scoff, tossing the proclamation to the side after reading it.

"I, for one, would like to actually see this grand army on the field, rather than watching conscripts fire arrows down from large stone walls. And Olivier can't actually find Vanaheim's entry into the war surprising, can he? After all, they did capture and beat me, even when we affirmed that we would stay neutral. My uncle did what was just!"

Emelie de Sola scowls at the Adrian response to the king's letter. "They act like their Britannus is babe getting kicked around in the streets - pah! Meanwhile, my poor brother Clement is still a prisoner of the Vladovs, actively being tortured by the hypocritical scum. He didn't even fight the scoundrels and yet they torture him for a crime he did not commit. Curse the Vladovs and curse the weakling Vanirs who kiss their boots!" She sits back, wadding up the paper and throwing it into the fire.

"The difference between your brother and I is that your brother was already at war with the Vladovs, whereas I was captured for marrying someone while neutral."

“My Son was beaten and tortured for the truly despicable crime of marrying somebody he loves. The Sloth King took his usual pose and decided not to reprimand the 3 men Samuel of Hadvar, Brann and Prince Gereon. A wanton display of ignorance of Vanaheim’s neutral stance. A boy of 16 years of age should not be tortured for a marriage he desired.” Bjorn would say.

Bjorn would frown while reading over the declaration "They abducted and beat my son, completely ignoring our wish of neutrality. The Crown seemingly wished for more enemies and their wish was granted."

"That's odd of you to say, since I saw you fighting in the first skirmish against us before your son was slapped..."

A broad figure would exclaim roughly throughout his barbute, continuing his pathetic rant as he strode through the dry moat of Peremont.

"How is a meak slap justified under torture, whereas the Vladovs peeled fingernails of a fifteen year old boy?"

Roric would hear of people talking of necromancers and Tarcell's resurrection, commenting

"Seems t'ey've forgot about 'ow that vun de Sola's head vas sewed back on top o' his neck..."
