Dragonslayerelf 653 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Origin Story On a dark and dreary night in the middle of the woods, where almost nothing stirred, a master voidal morphon conjurer was preparing a spell to conjure forth a wolf from the void, for he wished to rehearse his art. Upon nearing the end of his long concentration and focus on his magics, he found himself distracted by a noise behind him. His concentration broken, but so near to the end of the spell, he finished it without paying attention to where he was conjuring it. He began to feel an agonizing pain go throughout his limbs and mind as he slipped off into unconciousness. His body stayed in an unconcious state for ((6 irl days)), changing in un-natural ways. On the third day, he woke up to find that he had a muzzle, fangs, and fur covering his entire body. He was a bit smaller than he remembered, as well as his hunger becoming more centered on meat, and he had more primal instinct than mental strength. He was unsure of how to feel, and for an entire day he mulled it over. At the end of the day, after striking down a wolf with his newly gained claws, he decided that he welcomed this new change.Details Anthropomortia is the voidal art of merging yourself with a wild beast, typically a backfired attempt of conjuring an animal, or perhaps a mixed animal. The person would find their mind, body, and self altered and there is a large risk of death if they do not find themselves in an area where it is safe. The process starts with the casting of a spell intending to conjure a beast from the void, then either intentionally or unintentionally merging it with themselves by not targeting a specific area to conjure it to. The mage would then feel an agonizing pain and lose conciousness for 3 days to a month depending on the animal of choice. The change from man to manbeast occurs within these 3 days, starting with the head and ending with the feet. If they are either not prepared for this, or new to voidal magics, or both, they often either transform into a red slush of tissue and intestines or burst asunder. This transformation can be done with any animal, but the larger the animal is the more energy it would require. This requires extensive knowledge of morphon conjuration and obviously all the prerequisites that come with voidal magic. This is technically also possible with perennial conjuration but much more unlikely to succeed since you'd have to be able to still maintain all of your normal processes, and would probably result in something similar to a bryophite. This process would also limit your mana pool to a staggering degree as you now have to maintain this new form, but it would not drain it - it'd just be gradually taking up a part of it. As soon as you begin to tap into the segment being used for the magic, you feel excruciating pain, and possibly die due to your new body unable to stay intact.OOC There are many red lines about this including but not limited to -Powergaming this - it is a very hard magic school and without a lot of energy and knowledge in not only this specific task but also morphon/perennial/primordial conjuration -Using this quickly and rashly - one does not simply cast a spell and POOF - is an animal. It takes IRL days/months for this change to occur, during which you either can't move or just don't rp it (that is occasional spasms and your skin changing gradually, and muscles and tendons moving as you unconciously focus in on the magic) and leave a sign there. Afterwhich you have become an Anthropomorphite (for morphon conjuration) or A Perennialiphite (for perennial conjuration) -One does not simply turn back into a descendant/kha afterwards. This is a permanent thing, as the magic has bound your soul and the whatever's soul together to create a new living being, just with the same mind. -Waltzing into a city and expecting no consequences. The World would most likely see you as an abomination, a freak, and Oren'd be all over your rear. -There would be little to no difference between a Bryphite and a Perennia, and probably seen as plant people as well and under the same rules as Bryophites. -COMMON SENSE NEEDED

Your Favorite Impure 734 Share Posted January 27, 2016 So this is basically lore for elemental furries? We already have Kha, so I don't really see the need for other similar races.
EdgyMagey 787 Share Posted January 27, 2016 How do you conjure a wolf in yourself? How do you keep casting when something happens and distrups your concentration? How does conjuring something backfire and make you a conjured animal? But most importantly, what?
KarmaDelta 968 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Will I still be able to ride one into battle? Even then, as everyone said, you can either roll a Kha or RP a Druid doing some shifting or whatever they have since I remember they had lore for something like that. GDPR 014 24 Share Posted January 27, 2016 I like the idea of polymorphism, but eh... This seems kinda... I don't know.
ShameJax 1391 Share Posted January 27, 2016 https://www.tumblr.com/tagged/otherkin ??? Okay, to put a more serious comment in. This makes no sense, void magic can't simply back fire like that. And it wouldn't fuse with you...

Aerochrometilt 272 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Reeeeeeeee, not needed. Other magics and races fill a very similar function already. -

Well, you conjure a wolf but you target yourself when you conjure it. You'd be just at the end of the spellcasting, and then it'd be disrupted. MAGIC! just an idea, nothing more. Fitermon 667 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Although it might seem cool, there are a fair amount of issues with this. For one, Druids already have shapeshifting, so this idea of magic is fairly covered by that. Second, if a conjurationist were to target themselves as the location to conjure, they'd be unable to cast inside of their body without messing up. Even if they managed to do that, I doubt they'd be able to keep the focus and concentration on keeping the conjuration there, let alone it being a long term thing. It's a neat idea, but it just doesn't work with any of the lore at the time with how it works.
