Honestly really happy with these changes, Glad to see the staff is finally doing something about it, sad it took. . . the most god awful warclaim ever to trigger it though!

i say we just removed 1.9 pvp, go back to old wc ways, and just let lag decide the battle like it used to.  you staff only listen to the people you want to listen to when it comes to changing the server.  these rule changes are going to do nothing but worsen the **** tier relations that you already have with the playerbase.  we never had any of these issues until 1.9 pvp was added.  yeah some of the warclaims were complete lag cancer, but it eventually cleared up in the old pvp.  small groups of players hated the old ways because they felt that their feelings got hurt when we took their pixels and because of that small group of players you all still keep 1.9 pvp.  all that 1.9 does pvp wise is lag the server out even more. you have the server processing the hit timers, people blocking with their shields, and then all of the arrows ontop of it.  the old warclaim methods only had to register more simpler things than 1.9 added on.  my point is simply that these changes are only going to complicate and worsen the fun times we had with warclaims.  i honestly could care less about the pvp part of warclaims, i really only enjoyed getting in ts and chimping out with 100+ tards and listening to kids cry when they died and hearing people get way to serious about a mc server. i swear to christ if i get another warning point for this post ill chimp out again.

Okay mate. Something is being changed and done. Let's see how it works.

This is a good attempt, however it won't work at all.  This is extremely complicated and it's going to be ridiculous to moderate.  Splitting people up is a good idea, however my main concern is that you're just going to see people fighting three times on alts eventually.  The amount of preparation that has to go into this is absurd, and I feel bad for the staff members that are going to have to prepare for this.  I'm willing to see how this goes, but I feel the complexity and reliance on moderation will be the reason it is abused and will prove it ineffective.  It's a good attempt, and I'm happy to see that the staff is trying to find a solution.

I want to make a comment on 1.9 PvP because everyone thinks that the only problem is lag.  That is not the case, I've seen a 5 v 5 which lasted for 40 minutes because all you have to do to survive is run away and eat.  With the lowered damage of weapons, added swing timers, diamond armor, and new food you can easily heal faster than you take damage.  This will be a holocaust during warclaims, (along with the added lag of people fighting, even if the number is lowered).  I currently lag when trying to eat food, I'm also pretty sure swing timers are affected by lag, so when it lags, they take a lot longer to regain and you are never doing full damage when you think you are.  1.9 will be a holocaust to fight with in the next warclaim, even if it is reduced.

Defender default when? Raids auto default to pvp now. What was the purpose in having the defender default rule if the new raid limits don't allow for that rule to work. People can roll in groups of 6 and find anyone to pvp default them.

In the case of a force’s numbers being below the anticipated count, for that day, another player may fill in for the absent fighter, regardless of their participation prior or to come.

Won't this just be abused by people who are intending not to turn up or are inactive signing the roster? As one of their friends fighting on another day can just take their place.

Once everything is in order, a new portal sign will take you to the battleworld. At which point it will be business as usual, simply at a smaller scale. This is our attempt at keeping numbers, which is the primary source of lag on the server during a warclaim, down, while also fairly ensuring everyone is able to participate. We’ll see how it actually works out and will be testing this concept for the next war.

As a reminder, cooperation is key in executing something like this so please, if you require alterations to the system to fit your needs, then speak to the moderator organizing your warclaim, which nine times out of ten will be me.

The link to this form will be added to the original warclaim format as will the information provided above.

Note: Warclaims are highly suggested to take place on all three weekend days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). However, in certain cases and upon the agreement of both party leaders, warclaim times can be altered.

This is uneeded, allow the organizers of the warclaim to set a limit on the numbers and allow them to finger-pick the fighters, with a cap of a maximum of 20. Also, plis bring back 1.8

A cap of the amount of people that can go? No why would you cap a warclaim, you get as many people as you can to fight. It makes no sense to split them up like this and not to mention how complicated it will be.

Here I have a solution and it worked fine back in the old maps: Remove nexus, go back to 1.8 pvp.

Did we think about waiting for 5.0 and seeing how the lag is first?

I thought the whole "world sharding" was to prevent large maps and lower lag to allow for a lower-lag environment.

Shouldn't we see how that goes, then idk do a server wide war-game or something to test the impact it has on lag before redoing the entire system?
