  1. 1. Are Goblins or Humans smarter?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've always considered Goblins to be smarter than Humans. I'm not talking about the players that play them, I'm specifically talking about the races in the Lord of the Craft.

Who do you think are smarter: Goblins or Humans?

I think they're equal because Goblins are smaller but most of their brain is on blast towards being smart but is still smaller, while humans have a bigger brain so it's more balanced evening out smartness levels. All of what I just said is 100% accurate lore wise.

Scientifically speaking (as in, Tinkering and Engineering) more than likely Goblins. In terms of anything else, probably equal or slightly under par, which would explain their reckless behaviour.

Define smarter. there are many degrees of intellgince in human race, but I say equal, considering gobos are even physically stronger.

I am unsure of what to define smarter as. I was just curious about other people's thoughts.

Also I don't consider gobos to be stronger than humans... I don't know which race is stronger lore-wise, but I'm pretty sure gobos have more speed and are more aggressive lore-wise.

Smaw pretty much said what I was going to.

How I interpret is that,

When it comes to engineering, tinkering, and EXPLOSIONS: Goblins, by a landslide.
When it comes to linguistics, art, architecture(?) and some other things: Humans, by a landslide.

So, due to the culture of each race, they both have their expertise in different sections.

Edit: Theoretically speaking, Goblin smiths would be more proficient than Humans. Due to the war-like culture of Uruk.

You are incorrect about the smithing part, but in the aspects of tinkering explosions siege engines, etc, goblins are far advanced. Orc armor and weapons are not master crafted most Orc armor is just armor over armor over armor parts attached in a mess of a web; their arms are just made to be effective.

I imagine goblins are just high function autists or autistic savants

Goblins=STEM graduates

Human=liberal arts graduates

The others have said it better than I ever could, but I also want to add that goblins also have a predisposition to alchemy, so they are not solely tinkering/engineering/etc. I would say that it is fairly close, and due to the different fields humans and goblins cover, it's very hard to determine something like this. So what I say is that it's not the race that matters for something like this so much as it is the individual. Both races are smart, by and large, in different fields, but of course there is overlap with individuals who cross over to the different fields.

 Now hopefully this thread can keep going as it is, but I feel like it is going to devolve into a race war pretty soon.
