Prince Artimec stood atop the fountain of Linandria. It had been announced a week ago that a speech was to be delivered, and quite a crowd had gathered, mostly of Naelurir Druids, Sirame and other civilians who lived in the city, or the seed manors outside the walls. The Prince was stoic gazed. Although he put on a brave face, there was obvious ware in his eyes. He closed his eyes and inhaled sharply. There is nothing to it. No matter the adversity before us, we can do nothing but move forward.

Then then opened his mouth and spoke.

My friends, my countrymen, my people.

We enter uncertain times. The political landscape of Axios has taken a dramatic turn, the Empire of Oren is no more, and there are those who would seek to execute your Princes for our role in the war.

Yet I have faith in my subjects. You are my people, I have poured my heart, my soul, my very essence into building up this nation. I have devoted my whole to reviving our culture, our history and our traditions. The Aspectist rite has not been so strong within the Mali’ame people in nearly a millenia.

Yet credit does not go to me alone, not in the slightest. We have built ourselves up from nothing, and that is something each and every one of you should be proud of. Every Naelurir druid, spreading our ways to the young, every warrior of the Sirame, stalwart guardians of our forests, every Steward, librarian, scribe, merchant, tavernkeep. Each and every one of you is the reason why we have risen from the ashes of old Malinor like a Phoenix.

I give you all grief. I yell and I scream at you. I do this because I hold you all to a high standard. We are elves of Malin. Our culture is ancient and strong, we must be proud of who we are, and fight to maintain what we have. And all of you have been. Never, in all my centuries of leading, from Anthos to now, have I ever been so proud of my people, so proud to be a Mali’ame.

I owe each and every one of you a solemn debt of thanks of which I can never repay.

But, I can tell you this.

For as long as you shall have me, I will be with you all. With High Prince Tristin at my side. Together we will put everything we have into the prosperity, strength, and security of our people, as we have done for over a century. We shall remain for as long as our people are behind us, willingly accepting our rule without the threat of war looming over you. We will never let foreign polities choose who leads our kind, a people they have nothing to do with, especially not those who fought to destroy Oren for doing exactly that.

Our nation is strong. We proved that to the world when we poured out of our forests in greater numbers than any elven nation had ever done before. We will seek peace, peace with our neighbours, peace with our former enemies, this is a peace that as of current, I am working day and night to achieve. But if it comes to it, I have full confidence that we, elves of the dominion, the forgotten folk and ashen kin of Malin are capable of repelling any invaders who seek to do us ill.

We are a powerful people. Our history is one of suffering and endurance. Should we all do our part, we can ride out the tides of conflict and emerge with more prosperity than ever before.

I have faith in you all. May the Aspects guide us.

"Any usurper will be ousted, any invader will be bled dry by daggers in the dark. The forest will give no respite for interlopers." says a militant Khaine, tightening his grip around the spear in his hand, and the javelin in his other.

Mamilius shows his support to Artimec and Tristin with a smile, "I hope we can put the war behind us soon and move ahead. We showed we were strong, and we showed we are not disloyal enterprisers that cling to foreign powers for support, like Haelun'or or the Snow Elves. Their power lies in the shadow of other's skirts!"

Maaz stood with his hands on his hips, muttering:

"A powerful speech by a coward. But a powerful speech, nonetheless."

Ac'Aelu reads a transcript of the speech from the labs of Norseth'onn, nodding a bit to the words.

"The future seems a bit brighter after all." He'd muse to himself, before returning to the writing of a short tome.

"Well said, Prince Artimec. Together we will get through this, like we have before." states El'Haler Nathan Aureon

Lyemar of Linandria stood proudly in his Sirame uniform as he listened into the speech by his Prince. With his spear in hand, and shield on the other arm, he stood with his chest puffed out.

"The Princes have led us well, and there is no one else who can do the same. The 'Ame and the Dominion have thrived under their leadership for a reason. I look forward to their continued leadership, despite them being a bit harsh at times. The forest will consume those who try to make it otherwise."

Khiara Aureon pounds her chest as the speech ends. Despite her mixed blood, partially being orcish, she had been somewhat accepted into society and called the Dominion her home. "AME AME AME!" She screamed out at the top of her lungs! "FOR THE FOREZT!"

"I generally prefer this, rather than this reliance on Oren. Its time to see if the Dominion of Malin can truly stand on its own two feet." Princess Siri Ihelia remarks, reading over the transcript.

"I hold no love for the mali'ame besides Leric, but I could have sworn he was a Qalasheen man when I first met him. **** you, Artimec. And **** your aspects." Rakim says, spitting on the ground.

"Don't act so high and mighty now. Everything you just said is the opposite of what this nation has done. You hid behind Oren and called for a genocide, then had the Empire fight the war for you. You stick to the strongest power until it's brought down. You leave your allies while we defend ours until the end. The Snow Elves helped start the fight against Oren while your people were screaming about how they will protect Oren until the end. Now you can see that the Dominion has jumped ship as soon as things go sour for them. Do not reflect the problems of the Dominion onto foreign powers." The Ambassador replies before he leaves the city for good.

"Abelas, remind me, who was that man?" The great elf asks his friend regarding the ranting emissary.

Cheza sits near the fountain, listening to the speech with a small crowd of her own friends and family around her. The pale elfess sticking out somewhat due to her skin but her clothing matches that of the other citizens and she has long, dark feathers tied into her hair giving her a wild look of her own.

"Artimec and Tristin can be annoying at times. I've argued with them before and I'm sure will continue to have little debates. Yet unlike many leaders they actually walk among their people. They get to know their citizens, get to know the problems that they face, even help people on personal levels at times. I've seen them yell and argue but I've also seen them reach out a helping hand or offer caring support. They let their own lives decline, their own health at times, just to tend to others. To tend to this city and her people. That is why the citizens love them so. Why the 'ame defend them, why the 'ame follow them still. The very forest around us will rise up to defend this Dominion. The trees and brush working together with the animals and 'ame archers. Even if foreign powers made it past all that they'd never win over the people like Tristin and Art have. These people will follow that pair to the ends of the realm if they have to and I suppose I will too. They accepted me at least, more than some have."

"The High Elves committed oppression against the Wood and Dark Elves for years under the protection of the Dwed. Snow and High Elves have never had true power outside of their bending over to Dwed. No one on this world wants Snow elves, even the Dwed, but they keep them around for the handful of extra men they provide. Oren lifted the oppression wrought by the High elves in Athera, and we have only left Oren now because it is no more. Even the Northmen retracted. We paid in blood and gold and iron, but there is nothing else to do. It is senseless to kill ourselves anymore, or continue a war that will lead to a cuck like Tundrak becoming High Prince. Haelun'or bent to Oren once before, and they betrayed Oren by liquefying their King".
