"No Baron should outlive his Barony" Ser Demetrios Palaiologos after the Siege of Kraken's Watch which was taken by the Vanir and allies.

History of House Palaiologos
House Palaiologos is a very ancient noble house from Akritos. After the fall of Akritos, Demetrios Palaiologos who would later become a Knight and even later on Baron in Oren, decided to save as many Akritians as he could in order to set sail to Vailor. Demetrios was welcomed by Duke Richard of Courland, where he was given Kraken's Watch and the surrounding land by the Duke himself to house all of the Akritians. Duke Richard in return asked from Demetrios to follow him into battles as if he was a vassal. Demetrios took part in the second Inquisition, due to donating most of his wealth to the Holy Church, leading his levy into various attacks against the heretics, helping His Holiness Daniel III and being one of the most successive leader of the Inquisition, was finally knighted by the Emperor of Oren. Demetrios was now known as Ser Demetrios Palaiologos 'the Inquisitor'. Later on, after Duke Richard passed away, his third son, Anden took over Courland. Ser Demetrios was hated by the new and young Duke, for unknown yet reasons. Due to the lack of administrative and diplomatic skills Anden was also hated by the nobility of Courland. Aleksander Staunton, the late Duke's eldest son who was gone missing had finally returned and decided to restore Courland and make it Great again. Ser Demetrios knowing how dangerous young Anden could be, he attempted to help the rightful Duke of Courland, Aleksander. On his way to meet with him, alongside with his levy, young Anden seized Kraken's Watch and gave it to the Vanirs. Finally, Anden putting an end to his own life, Aleksander could finally claim what was rightfully his, Courland. Ser Demetrios was unable to retrieve his old castle, but for his services he was awarded the keep of Vrachos and swore fealty to Duke Aleksander and became a Baron. Kraken's Watch was about to switch hands once more after the battle of Kraken's Watch. Ser Demetrios and Ser Aymer would lead a small attack in order to seize the castle and return to it's former lord. The attack was successive and House Palaiologos was the strongest house within Courland, after House Staunton. Everything was about to change pretty soon with the fall of Courland. Ser Demetrios was assumed dead after the second battle of Kraken's Watch. Looking at the Vanir and Carnatian troops rushing into the castle, Ser Demetrios removed his nobility cloak and said to his men; "No Baron should outlive his Barony, no Akritian should become slave to the Raevir". He and his loyal men charged for a last time together where most of the Palaiologoi found death that day except Constantinos Palaiologos and a couple more of his relatives. Now in Axios Constantinos Palaiologos is the Baron of Nicea, the last Akritian stronghold in the Kingdom of Lorraine. Baron Constantinos is putting a lot of efforts in order to restore his father's legacy.

 House Loyalties

House Palaiologos is a very loyal house of Lorraine, as it was the only House which supported the rebellion and the independence. Baron Constantinos was a close friend of the first King of Lorraine, John I D'amaury who has recently fallen to the eternal sleep.

House status and current holdings
House Palaiologos is holding the Barony of Nicea, thus giving them the Baron status. The current Patriarch of the House is Constantinos Palaiologos, son of Ser Demetrios Palaiologos.

The Crown does not recognize House Palaiogos as noble, instead as rebels and subversive enemies of the Crown of Lorraine.
