AN AFFRONT TO MALIN

From the oft silent northern reaches of Almaris, missives are spread, bearing the mark of the Fennic Remnants.

Long have the Elves of the North been a spectator to the affairs of Malin’s realms-at-large. The line of Aelthos, we Mali’fenn, have a well-earned reputation as those most distant children of Malin. History is riddled with our wars against the rest of Elvenkind. Yet, there comes a time when the affronts have grown too grievous, and decay too prominent, for silence to be maintained by any faithful sons and daughters of Malin. In light of recent affairs, we make our voices heard.

Firstly do we express our distaste for those Mali principalities which have prostrated themselves before the lines of Horen and folk of Urguan. Without a fight, you have surrendered your arms and honor unto foreign peoples. You who refuse to bear steel shall always be beholden to those that will. It is this very weakness and cowardice that has spawned the phenomenon that births our next condemnation.

Secondly and most importantly do we condemn those “Imperial Elves”, who have traded their cultures for safety, towers for manors, and bows for wigs. Many sons and daughters of Malin have flocked to foreign realms in the preceding centuries; it is a dishonor that taints our race. None of these vagrants are so distasteful as those that seek, purposefully, to uproot Malin’s children and turn them into effeminate sycophants to the lines of Horen. You, who lick at the very boots of those who would step upon you, are an embarrassment to us all. Mali who pretend to be valah deserve neither the friendship of the former nor the security of the latter.

Let this be a warning to the Elven realms. Embrace a stronger future for Malin’s people, or be complicit in their destruction.

Signed,

Vytrek Tundrak, Prince of the Fennic Remnants, Prince of the Snow Elves

Ayred looks the message over "Ehm- based?" Is his only remark before nodding his approval.

"... I should have been born a snow elf." Abraham simply says as he folded the based missive to keep. For once, this missive didn't get tossed in the fire!

"Hmm, darling should we make a bounty for imperial elves?" The Seregon would jest to her beloved with a cheery, but, calm tone while they ate steak dinner near the shoreline. "Even though they are elves, they bring our kind disgrace for siding with people who hunted us for sport." Alyssa would add after taking a large sip from her wineglass filled with Carrion Black, the 'aheral's tone now more bitter and filled rage. But she'd stay cool and collected.

The Keeper would look over the missive carefully, set it aside on his desk, and ponders to himself "A little harsher than I would be, but still, it has a point. The Children of Malin have lost their way, and those who give up their culture and people for another rather than helping their own race recover and grow strong are part of the problem. Though I do think some may be redeemed, with the proper guidance, and condemning them wholesale without offering them redemption simply makes all our halls grow more empty..." he'd trail off in thought, before eventually going back to writing his scouting reports and tending his hearth.

"Good good, each should stick to their own." The man mutters from his study, books strewn over the desk and floors.

The Archvigilant of War would ponder for some time. Currently away on a long pilgrimage the Atmorice smiles, excited about the time when he is able to return. "The boy Prince does well. My Glaive for Fenn. Death to those Mali which choose to bend to the people of false Gods." of course no one was able to hear this. Just a random 'Fenn talking to a shrine

"Hm.." A certain 'Ame would hum to herself as she read over the words, reflecting upon her first meeting with Fennic people and what unfolded that day. She then simply turned as she began to take her leave, preparing herself for future training.

Grand King Ulfric Frostbeard would read the missive as it crossed his desk. He'd eye it over once before placing it down and retrieving a hearty brew from one of his barrels in the palace.

"Inaction en action..." He'd state, swirling his brew in a frosted goblet gifted to him upon his coronation. "Ef yeh truleh wish teh halt teh destruction of yer peoples..."

He'd then walk over to his chair, placing his drink down and withdrawing a pipe.

"Do something' about' et... but beh wary ef yeh t'enk Urguan will nae respond teh t'ose t'at t'enk t'ey can meddle en our peoples' affairs. All our peoples.

He'd then place the missive to the side, a reminder in the event it must be brought up once more in the future. He'd return to his night of drinking and smoking.

A subtle chuckle comes from Alyssa's side with a response following suit "I am not one to judge how one lives, we are to collect bounties, not issue them" in a rather calm yet firm tone as he shrugs lightly while looking outwards over the sea before him "Maybe if someone issues one? it's the neutrality I uphold, regardless of past." The Silver Lubba chuckled

Velatha hummed as she read the missive, offering it a short nod. "Perhaps brash..... but our young prince speaks his mind. Something that has been lacking in recent history, I would argue." The elder medic hobbled her way through the clinic, beginning to prepare many kits to be distributed to the medics of Fenn. Each one contained a variety of salves and herbs used frequently in her practice. "Hopefully we will not need these but... better safe than sorry considering the wars of past. At least our armour has not grown rusty as our cousins' have, our swords sharpened at the ready rather than dull and rusted in the armouries of another."

"I always knew those Mali'fenn were fuckin' cool." said Prince Ragnvald, who had always been a fan of the elves to the north!

"Stern and straight to the point. The so-called 'Imperial Elves' continue to draw targets on their backs," Olórin Telemnar commented, as he read the proclamation.

“Unity among Elven-kind has always been proven to be quite difficult. I’m not sure if this common cause would lead to such a change, but I do hope I’m around to see what happens next” He’d say to himself. His eyes fixed upon the crackling fireplace as he tossed the missive in. He’d then say something else in a soft tone “Aspects protect everyone. I can’t stand to see violence break out once again.”

Alric reads the missive, he'd turn to Prince Ragnvald and state,

"Well cousin, it seems the Mali'fenn make steps to reclaim the long abandoned Mantle of Malin, as they put it, and form a real Elven Realm for Malin's Children. Whilst the Snow Elves labor for a better tomorrow for their people and the security of their Realm, many other Elves seem to have sold themselves and their own people for the attainment of wealth and status. Let us hope the Mali'fenn's labor is not for a lost cause."
