CharmingCavalier 1723 Popular Post Share Posted November 1, 2021 THE ALMARIS BUCKETBALL ASSOCIATION OUR HISTORY Formed in 48SA (1844 IST), the Almaris Bucketball Association (ABA) was the union of the International Bucketball League (IBL) and the Western Almaris Championship League (WACL). Bucketball is a game that involves throwing a ball into a basket, what originally was just a bottomless bucket. The competitive spot has many different origin stories. Most popular among humans is Detective Unc threw a pigshead into a rain catcher during an investigation, which ultimately produced street games of the sport using cabbages and other circular objects. Alternatively, non-humans often theorize that the sport is of Orcish origin and was more physically violent when first played. Regardless, the ABA is dedicated to entertaining the crowds of Almaris with thrilling games of bucketball. Dependent on weather and transportation concerns, games and their results will be announced every day or so. Fans are encouraged to root for their favorite team, define things such as the stadium, or find other ways to expand the culture of the sport. YOUR TEAMS -=- The ABA consists of two leagues, predominately along the lines of the IBL-WACL divide. Each league has eight teams and each team will play twenty-two games a season. The top four teams will advance to the playoffs and play series of five games to determine who advances to the next round. The Grand Almaris Championship (GAC) shall be a series of five games, with the winner being crowned the champion of Almarisian Bucketball. -=- The Western Conference The Varhelm Beserkers - A powerful offensive team but has serious defensive weaknesses The Elvenesse Bucks - An underwhelming team that is rebuilding after the loss of several star players to raiders The San Luciano Saints - The renamed Sutican Swordfish, this team has drafted stellar offensive players in recent years. The Karosgrad Ravens - One of the most renowned teams with good overall defense and offensive capabilities. The Iron Uzg Krugs - Made up of strong offensive players but prone to penalties and fouls. The Vortice Krakens - A breakaway team of the Freeport Pigeons that has subpar offensive players. The Elysium Foxes - Another breakaway team from the Varhelm Besekers, their biggest rivals. Decent defense, but needs improvement. The Yong Ping Dragons - Reknown for some of the tallest players in the ABA, their defense is strong. However, their shooting needs improvement. The Eastern Conference The Freeport Pigeons - One of the oldest, but deprived, teams in the sport. Mediocre at best. The Kal'Darakaan Miners - The strongest defense in the whole sport, but significant offensive flaws. The Du Loc Flames - All around good team, with a knack for trickery such as lighting the ball on fire. The Haelun'or Purifiers - Highly paid players that do little. Inadequate skills and in desperate need of a new coach. The Providence Vigilants - The most well-funded team with highly skilled immigrants from around Almaris. The Talus Grove Druids - Worst team in the ABA by far. Players are considered washed up and out of practice. The Rozania Rabbits - Emerging team still in its youth. Developing players has been its biggest talent, keeping them is another story. The Fakhr Dunes - The southern menace has waned in recent years but may return in time. Overall average. Known Rivalries The Freeport Pigeons - The Vortice Krakens The Elysium Foxes - The Varhelm Besekers GAMES - Starting this Saint's Day, and dependent on weather and transportation concerns, games and their results will be announced every day or so. Make sure to follow along and root for your favorite team. The team would greatly appreciate your involvement. Naming things like the places your favorite team players or even a few of their star players would be extremely helpful since we are unable to know everyone's culture, naming schemes, etc. I hope you enjoy the games and the first post should be up this evening. THE AMATEUR DIVISION The Almaris Bucketball Amateur Division (ABAD) consists of expansion teams that are in competition to ascend to the ABA. The last ranked team in the ABA will be moved to the ABAD every season, allowing the top-ranked ABAD team to advance into the prime ABA. We hope this puts to rest concerns of possible exclusion of minor teams that did not qualify for initial ABA membership. All standings and scores for the ABAD will be placed after the results and standings of the ABA weekly posts, found above. Anore 2006 Share Posted November 1, 2021 The Freeport Pigeons, originally known as the Freeport Bitch Pigeons, were among one of the first teams to form around this new sport. After Freeport lay abandoned, the team still travels for games, with their home court being on the deck of one of the last few ships in their Navy.

DelaneyG 1279 Share Posted November 1, 2021 Geoff Turgon has worked his entire life for this. For years he's been the local basketball coach at Redenford High. Maybe the Providence Vigilant's needed a new member on the coaching staff, or would want his son Michael to play for them.
