The Lord of Arichsdorf, who was present escorting his lady wife, took the man under his custody to his domain to issue punishment. The Kongzem of Haense, seeking to take the man for punishment themselves, issued a challenge to the Lord of Archisdorf. A duel of honour was agreed. On this day, that duel occurred. The Champion of The Brotherhood faced the Champion of Haense with great honour, and was defeated. After this, the Orenians of the March of Blackvale drew their blades. In breaking guest-right, these cravens turned steel on the men of Haense, Archisdorf, and the Prince of Savoy, all of whom had gathered in peace to settle matters with honour and with no intent of widespread violence. One of these members of the March of Blackvale in particular did seek to personally stab the Prince of Savoy, Lucien I, in the back. This comes after the Orenian Empress and the Orenian Foreign Affairs Minister were welcomed into the Kongzem just last year to discuss matters of peace and ending the war. They were treated as guests, and left unharmed. Pending the response of those who claim to be overlords of Blackvale, the Kongzem of Haense extends their gratitude to Prince Frederick Novellen for the return of the ambushed Lord Marshal, may his honour be restored. As well our gratitude is heavily extended to Lord Manfred of Arichsdorf. Though we have stood on different sides of the battlefield, you are, undoubtedly, a man of great honour who keeps to his word. We thank you, and hope that those who have stained your promise of guest-right will go lawfully punished so that peace may prevail.
