Kaladin Stormblessed 638 Popular Post Share Posted April 10, 2023 CROWN LANDS RECLAIMED A Report of the Victory Against the Mori’Quessir forces Issued by LIEUTENANT BALDRUM COLBORN On this 11th day of MSITZA AG DARGUND of 472 E.S. The Preparations The force of over three-thousands Loyal soldiers of the Brotherhood of Saint Karl, Crow Knights and Haeseni Warriors have marched last Saint’s Day to retake the Crown Lands - Ostrevik from the cowardly Mori’Quessir forces, led by Nakaas. At first, Lord Carolus Colborn briefed the joined forces on the weaknesses of the Mori’Quessir and methods to fight against them. Following that, Ser Baldrum Colborn briefed the attacking force on our attack plan. The Main force attacked the front gates, consisting of the Crow Knights led by Ser Sebastien de Savoie, and three separate units led by Lord Carolus Colborn, Ser Baldrum Colborn and His Royal Majesty Georg I. In addition to the main force, two dedicated flanking forces have valiantly fought to reclaim the Castle, the first flanking group to the South of the Castle lead by Sergeant Audo Weiss, and the other to the rear of the Castle lead by Lieutenant Wilheim Barclay. Each group was equipped with raid ladders in order to break into the castle. His Majesty Georg I would recognize the danger of the treeline, which was overridden by Arachnids. Along with the force under his command, they engaged with the Arachnids to the Southern side of the Castle, allowing the rest of the main force to proceed on their march with little resistance from this flank, speeding up the reclaiming of Ostrevik. The angered Mori’Quessir forces downed many arrows upon them, in a poor attempt to slay His Majesty. Luckily, Lady Alyona Godunov took it upon herself to protect His Majesty rather than herself, having ended up hurt from an arrow as a result. The group fought well and hard, Paul Potte showed exceptional Valor, first to charge and slay the Arachnids until their acid melted his trusty mace. After the group secured the treeline, they proceeded to join the main force, where His Majesty had taken upon himself to lead the charge on keep and slay poor Mori’Quessir and Gladiators that defended the keep, winning with ease due to their superior tactics and strength. Ser Baldrum led his forces up the main gate, clearing the path and slaying many Arachnids on their way up. They made haste, proceeding with a line of shields and swords to stab each enemy that may attack them. As the force proceeded to move quickly to reclaim Ostrevik, the Mori'Quessir attempted to halt their efforts with multiple rounds of arrows. Their attempts where in vain, while they did manage to injure a few warriors such as Ser Emeric and Asta with some lucky arrows, our Heroes showed great courage and proceeded with their march despite the pain, slaying hords of Arachnids and clearing the path for the main force to enter the keep. Anastasia Colborn made sure to grant quick medical care for any injury as they moved up. After slaying many Arachnids, they got a clear path to deploy their raid ladders. The group moved up to the balcony with Ser Baldrum and Aleksandr Var Ruthern at their lead, followed by the rest of the force. The warriors then proceeded to slay Mori’Quessir soldiers and enslaved gladiators, steadily and carefully crashing the enemy lines with Valor, they managed to secure the South-West side of the Castle. The Order of the Crow forces led by Ser Sebastien have proceeded up the path to the main gate right behind Ser Baldrum’s forces. On their way slaying thousands of Arachnids that with sheer luck managed to escape the force above. A wall of shields made their slow and steady way, blocking the path of any projectile thrown their way. As they moved up Radmir Amador showed great marksman skills and striked down the enemy cannoneers, while Ser Sebastien was creating a distraction and drew the enemy attention to them, evading every cannonball and arrow sent his way. These actions allowed them to deploy the raid ladders, on which Ser Sebastien, Brendell Colborn and Kysnaros climbed to slay the enemy gladiators and cannoneers and clean up the terrace. After they successfully conquered the area, they opened the gatehouse and the second gate for the bulk of the army to enter Ostrevik. The small, but well-talented, forces led by Lord Carolus Colborn took to the hills along the main force. No Arachnid slowed down the strides of their formation as Lord Carolus took to the front with his shield. With the aid of the trusty Warriors, capable of magics and summons, they made their way past the bridge and over the lower walls. In a display of ingenuity - Lord Carolus sought the aid of A'lia, and her summoned bear, to flip a large outdoor dining table for cover. Protected by the raining arrows, they pushed forward to the main walls. With a brilliant flash of fire, a will'O potion flew from the group to disrupt the Mori'quessir forces as the long table was pressed up against the wall - forming a ramp. Lord Carolus charged side by side with Jonathan of Tuvia and his new acquaintance Vuleri over the wall to slay all of those before them. Ser Kalan used his well-equipped arsenal to blow a hole through the wall and give passage to join the main forces inside the keep and finish off the last of the resistance. The largest of the groups, composed of proud Reinmaren led by Lord Wilheim Barclay, took it upon themselves to infiltrate the taken keep through its rear. Fighting through several hordes of Arachnids, their armor had been melted by their enemy’s acid, but not their heart, nor their ladder. Their prowess had proved fruitful, as the squad were the first to step foot within Ostrevik, cleverly sneaking through broken windows into the main keep. Immediately they moved to silently secure the keep and its towers, their secondary objective being to secure a cannon and blow up an entryway for their comrades. While they had failed to secure any ammunition or gunpowder, their prowess proved greater than any blast those siege weapons could muster. Sir Ludolf Barclay would be the one to raise the gate separating them from the bulk of the Mori’quessir and Gladiators. The soldiers of Reinmar, alongside their Minitz cousins and the Prince Caius of Aaun, separated the soldiers they charged, their steel swiftly becoming stained with enemy blood. On that day, the Mori’quessir’s thralls, Legionnaires and Gladiators alike, were left with a newfound fear for the Reinmaren’s boldness in battle. The smallest unit, led primarily by Sergeant Audo Weiss and co-led by Sergeant Skaul, circled to the southern side of the keep. Their approach was stalled by an Arachnid Brood-mother and a raucous Mori’quessir. Taking advantage of the Mori’quessir’s vocal inclination, the Haeseni forces set him ablaze and continued their approach. Most of the unit was soon forced to face the Arachnid Brood-mother and her Spiderlings as His Highness Stefan Edvard showed immense bravery and skill, engaging The Mori’quessir in singular combat. Once distracted and blinded by Sergeant Weiss, Initiate Demitrey was able to bring a swift end to the brood-mother whilst Initiate Tolothian cleaved through spiderlings. The Mori’quessir, who showed his true feeble nature, retreated to the keep and would later abandon the keep in his cowardice. In pursuit, the unit was split on either side of the stream. Foul spider-acid rained down upon the initiates, though they were promptly defended by Sergeant Weiss from the opposite bank. This defense, however, could not persist as Sergeant Weiss and His Highness were faced with hordes of Spiderlings – a challenge which they overcame together. Across the way, caught in a moment of minor victory, Initiates Demitrey and Tolothian failed to heed command to re-group and were consequently assailed by archers, barely escaping the assault with their lives. Once re-grouped, the injured passed their shields to those with greater ability, allowing for the formation of an effective shield-wall. Despite the use of Flash Powder to incapacitate some archers, many of their arrows still struck true around the defense. Despite this, the small but persistent unit sailed fourth as true brothers in arms to link up with Lord Carolus’ unit as the south side of the keep was secured. And thus our fierce warriors triumphed over the cowardly Mori’Quessir, losing not a single life against their pathetic defenses. Their leader Nakaas was quick to dishonorably escape the Castle through tunnels, not daring to face the might of our overwhelming forces. Let it be known all over Almaris, the Mori’Quessir can suffer defeat from superior Valor and brains of the united Haeseni forces. “Krusae Zwy Kongzem” SKRALI VOR GUD, His Lordship, Ser Baldrum “The Sworn” Colborn, Knight of the Order of the Crow, Captain of the Colborn Company, Lieutenant of the Brotherhood of St. Karl

Xarkly 12921 Share Posted April 10, 2023 Admist Nakaas' retreating company, the Mori legionnaire named Valkio wound a cloth around his ankle, where a Haeseni arrow had skewered it. "Rotting Srow ..." he crused, and glanced through the twilight at the distant fires marking Ostervik. "What gave them the idea they could hurt me and get away with it?"

"God has provided us with a glorious success, and yet, we have only just begun. Wer Rastet, Der Rostet" The still squire, would sign the lorraine, before he continued his rounds around the ruined Lectors Temple, in search of further things to fix.

"Let us hope that next time vy remember to bring a shield for vyrself, Vyr Majesty!"

"Rotting Srow ..." he crused, and glanced through the twilight at the distant fires marking Ostervik. "What gave them the idea they could hurt me and get away with it?" Audo Weiss folded his arms under himself, leant forwards upon the fencing that bordered his private rooftop garden. Lightly, his fingers gripped the report as the wind threatened to tear it from his grasp. Peering out into the distance, he quietly simmered over the happenings of the battle and the injuries their meagre unit sustained. He'd taken a gamble on bringing such fresh meat, and was frankly glad they pulled out of it alive. A frustrated sigh escaped him: even after pressing on in hopes to not falter or fail the collective assault, their last push had merited far more harm than good. And then there was him. Encounters with other Mori'quessir had so far been from afar and largely not addressed remotely towards Audo. And yet, the figure they faced had approached so freely and with such utter confidence. And though the sergeant had penned the words raucous and feeble upon the request for a report, he couldn't deny those were merely put to paper for the sake of morale. In fact, his keenness to launch an assault during the Mori's mockings seemed almost... dishonourable. "...Almost like a person ea'd find dobry company in." He muttered under his breath as the wind, ever persistent, finally succeeded in snatching the missive, ferrying it out towards the port. A taut quietness befell him at the thought; a thought he didn't dare linger on. With an arch of the brow and a subtle tilt of the head he promptly added: "Too bad they're scum."
