Nikoletta Colborn screamed as she heard the news, rushing out of the palace to prove to herself it was not true, it could not be true. She stared down at the cold, dead, frozen bodies of her beloved parents, unable to move, unable to speak. She heard Iduna screaming and crying. She heard her aunts, uncles, and cousins ushering her to say her goodbyes. But she could not move. And for the first time in her life, Niko sobbed. She cried and screamed and sobbed until her eyes had run dry of tears, her throat was sore, her nose was dripping. And as she knelt before the bodies of her beautiful, strong mother and handsome, heroic father; she whispered to them.

"Ea am sorry, ea am so sorry ea couldn't keep eym safe. Ea promise to look after everyone, eam so sorry."

Her voice was hoarse and raspy as she stepped back, kissing each of their cold foreheads before turning her attention to comforting her siblings.

Viktor Weiss approached the bodies of Via and Brendell Colborn, frozen at the base of a towering ice spike on the main street of Haense. With a sorrowful gaze, he looked down at the bodies and tried comforting his cousin, Iduna Colborn, as they both stood silently. He frowned as he braved the harsh winds and snow kicking up into the air, mourning the death of his aunt and uncle.

[!] The young girl, having intercepted the aftermath of her aunt and uncles demise - Seemed shell shocked, hearing her cousin, Iduna scream, and her eyes still glued to the bodies of her late relatives. This would be an egregious mourning period

Brendell woke in a field in the Seven Skies, squinting up at the sky with mismatched hues. Why. . . he shivered, though the rolling breeze was warm. Time passed as he sat and thought. Where was he?

Some time later, minutes or perhaps days, he stood and turned towards his wife's form as she appeared. A smile graced his lips as he saw her. "Hallo, Schatz."

The priest, Bishop Stanislaw, wandered past the corpse of Via and Brendell Colborn; his countenance was stiff and frozen, unable to show grief, and his tears could not come out, too frigid to form. "Va ve maan."

He continued to walk down the snowy path. His brain was frozen.

Somewhere, the frozen, healing remnants of a man feels sorrow pierce through his soul like a arrow- bleeding the last bits of warmth away. In between agonizing pain and chilling hollowness, he mourns for his sister and brother-in-law. It is all he can do to not cry - the tears burn down his blistering skin and only sharpen his grief.

"Why must the good always pay the price." Came the quiet mumble from Wilhelm's mouth as he walked with crunching steps, through Valdev. As he said a quiet prayer for the family of his good friend. "Do Thou, O Lord, have mercy on our dearly departed, for the sake of us sinners all who greatly hope and trust in Thee. For Thy mercy can turn bittering weeping to joyous fanfare, for Thou alone judgeth the living and the dead." With a somber sign of the Lorraine Wilhelm would continue his short patrol of the the capital, and trudge back out with a heavy heart.

While working to shelter her sons, as well as her nieces and nephews from the cold, Liridona Amador mumbled a quick prayer for the souls of her. The grief pained her, but to properly mourn would have to wait until another day...

Meanwhile, in the Seven Skies, one Katerina Colborn greeted her brother with a bright smile. "Bren!" She quickly rushed up to Brendell, and hugged him- perhaps for the very first time "Ea missed eym so much!"

Julietta Haverlock's ears soon hear of her childhood friend's passing, the words echoing in her mind as a cascade of emotions overtook her. She looked to her husband, not a word said yet her face said more than enough. The older woman wept, the children she knew were no longer of the world. 'When will my time come?' she pondered in the back of her mind.

For the sake of Anastasia that aged goat-loving woman approached both Via and Brendell once they had greeted the more relevant people they loved - who too had passed. “You lived beautifully you two. Very gudi. Come- I'll show you the best place to watch over your babies, and get you a glass.. Or two.. Or three, of goat milk, ja.”
