If you did not make it, it could be because there was a question you didn't touch on that I felt was very important or that you may have seemed too harsh!

When I logged on today, I scrolled to the bottom of some forum page, and I see my name in green. I'm like "Wait, what?", and then I go here, and find my name on the list.

What do you think are the top five things, that are most important in an application and why?

I think that these are all equally important to a successful App.

First of all, I think that layout is important for both the applicant and the observer, because it will be organised and easier to read, and develop upon. If the layout is pristine then the application itself is expected to be also. however this would only gain around 10% of the overall result.

-

Second, it needs to be clear they have read the lore, and can incorporate their character inside the lore. This makes their experience richer and will tell the observer that they have understood the lore. If they understand the Lore to it's full, they will add things such as "He/she doesn't believe in Iblees, or Aeriel isn't for him". Plus, they would also know that they cannot kill mercilessly because in the original thread, it states that players must have a Villain Application to commit acts of villainary.

-

Third, I know that they will need to have read and understood the rules, the Favourite Law, and Least Favourite Law questions will help the observer see this. If they haven't they will be swayed to break the rules, and will cause some trouble in the future, which is not what Lord Of The Craft needs. As the ban reports we gain is steady at the moment, they usually begin at the Application Team, and if they let one bad apple through, it will affect the bunch, and LoC will get more griefers, metagamers... Which leads on to my next reason for Law, meta gaming and power gaming need to be understood, and they must know about these rules.

-

Forth, I think that the question "What do you expect" plays an important role in the application itself, as it tells the observer why they want to be on LoC, and if it says anything similar to; "Lots of combat, shouting and action", then it may weigh the app down. If they expect a really good PvP server, they are wrong, but this wouldn't effect the overall outcome as much as say, the Law.

-

Finally, Grammar, this will be decided on two factors, Where they are from and how their grammar is in general. For instance, if somebody is from Latvia, and they have "I see a video about Lord of Craft and I enjoy it", they you can see why their grammar is how it is, but excessive mistakes are not tolerated. It works both ways, If an Englishman has grammar like that, it will weigh down heavily on their app.

-

Thanks for reading this, I understand that the app team is packed at the moment, but I really would like the chance to have this job.

-

Ps. Sometimes when copy and pasting, the format of my post goes wrong, I had to place in foot holds to keep it in place.

What do you think are the top five things, that are most important in an application and why?

1. Roleplay I believe that understanding what roleplay means should be a prime focus of a beginner. Understanding what it means to TRULLY BE a character in world can create a more dynamic experience for the player and the others he or she interacts with.

2. Character Characters shouldn't be perfect nor over flawed. Imperfect characteristics make many experiences in real life or ingame unique. No human being in real life is perfect or over powered. Thus, no being in a roleplay world should be either. Also, a character shouldn't be over flawed. Whether one merely adds a characteristic flaw such as lack of wit or a strong fear, the closer a character is to becoming real, the more unique the rp experience becomes.

3. Unique stories Sadly, many beings of Aegis have lost their parents due to orcs or the undead. The stories of parents lost to these two culprits are getting old. A unique character has a unique story. A character shouldnt follow the typical path of others in writing a bio of vengeance. A character with an easy, yet unique, life is better than a character who was trained by his/her father or mother whom was killed by orcs or the undead. A story should be unique from the way it is told to the the actual content used. A character bio can be told as a flashback or a journey and can be a story of love, hope, or even fear.

4. Realizing that a character is apart of history Many beginners do not realize that a character is apart of a larger story. If a soldier were to tell his/her life story, he/she might speak of the larger tale through his/her eyes. The same could be said about a character in a large lore. A beginner should take into account that he/she is a glimse into a larger tale. When writing a bio, a person can include how their life was impacted by events in Aegis. These events can shape a character for better or for worse.

5. Care and effort If a person actually cares to be on the server, then they will put an effort into the application. Applications that have very little effort are usually short, filled with grammer and spelling errors, and weak in the bio. A person wishing to join should take the initiative to do their best on an application. Merely creating a coherent application makes them more likely to acceptable.

What do you think are the top five things, that are most important in an application and why?

1. I think one thing is how mature and nice of a person the person applying is. If in his/her app they are acting very rude I would not accept them. This server needs people who will respect the community and the rp aspect.:)

2. Second of all I will make sure any applications that are just jokes are denied. There are some people who will post apps that are taking it all like a joke and I really do not think they should be accepted.

3. A main thing I will always check for is how good they will be in roleplaying on their character. If they have a short bio and does not seem to know what roleplaying is I will not accept them and tell them what they need to check.

4. I will also check that they will have a good storyline for their character. If they will play on this server they need to know what their character will be like at least a bit. If their character does not have any story it will not be fun.

5. The final thing I will check for is if they have in their bio some form of the Lore of Aegis in it. If they start talking about kingdoms that don't exist I will be able to see that they did not read up on the lore around the server.

What do you think are the top five things, that are most important in an application and why?:

1. The biography:

The biography is very important because it shows me how good their (the person who's app I'm checking) writing and grammar is, if they've read the lore or not and it also helps me tell how much effort was put into the application. Sometimes it also helps me tell if their character is a Mary Sue/Gary Stue.

2. That they know what roleplaying, metagaming and powergaming are:

If they don't know what roleplaying is then they won't enjoy the server and they'll ruin the server for everyone else. If they don't know what metagaming and powergaming are then they will ruin the server for the affected players because metagaming and powergaming are unfair and they are complete cheating.

3. The answer to "What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?": This helps me tell if they're a rule-breaker or not.

4. That they have a skin and that it suits RP:

Running around as Steve or a non-RP skin ruins the atmosphere of the server.

5. That their character isn't overpowered:

Mary Sue/Gary Stue characters aren't realistic, it is powergaming and they annoy people who play as realistic characters.

(These aren't in order of importance, I think they are equal)

(If I was able to add more then I would add the two scenario questions (the one about the bandits and the other about the shopkeeper) because those questions show how they (the person who's app I'm reviewing) would RP in those circumstances. This helps me see if they are a good roleplayer.)

Comment: I want to become a member of the Application Team so I can lessen the load of the people already on the Application Team and so I can make verdicts on new applications I see being made. This would allow new people to the server to get a verdict on their application quicker so they can either start playing (if they were accepted) or start writing their next application (if they were denied). I hope you accept me and if you do then I'll try my best to check as many applications as I can (it will probably be a lot since I'm on these forums with nothing else to do often).

EDIT: Sorry about "Comment:", the colour code refuses to work.

RE-EDIT: Yes! "Comment:" works now!
