The Forest Will Cry

Supremacy

A piece of parchment is nailed to a tree in the druid grove by a lustrous silver pin. The edges of the parchment seem burnt but a haiku is clearly visible in a glowing orange script:

Children of the leaf

Your sacred grove will burn

Elder trees shall weep

(I have received around 20 questions as to "Why the high elves are possibly starting this conflict?". I have also been told it makes no sense in high elf culture. To those who want to know why, I gift you this:)

Allow me to clarify this, to those of you who are unaware. Around 5 times today I have received the comment that this tree-conflict makes the high elves impure and breaks their lore. While only some of you may have this opinion it is worth informing you why this is being done:

- Without the land outside the walls the high elves do not have enough land to feed themselves.
- When confronted about acquiring the land which the high elves saw as their own, Malinor told them that trying to convince them was pointless and that they would need to be convinced with more than words. I would argue that swords are definitely more than words.
- Druids openly challenged the land claim of the high elves.
- The wood elves have backstabbed the high elves multiple times throughout their history. The time the orcs attacked Haelun'or. The time the Kharajyr were threatening Haelun'or in Anthos. The time the humans and dwarves were after Malinor in Elysium. Throughout this time Malinor was conscidered "their closest ally".
- Malinor tried to destroy their culture: Kolyat Alfakyn
- Kalenz hates druids.
- The humans have never backstabbed them like the wood elves have.

So yes... The logic behind this conflict is perfectly justified and the friendly relations with humans formed are perfectly reasonable. You can't walk on an entire culture and expect them to be "ok" with it 80-90 years later.

You can't starve a culture and expect nothing to happen.

*Kaun looks at the note and sighs, "These people are going to awaken the nature goddess to destroy them if they keep this up." He copies down the haiku and takes it to the Arch Druids to see what they think*

Greenbeard Ernest was on his daily trip to the grove as he noticed the note.

"It looks like someone wants to fight the nature...doing childish acts...they can try it but the nature will defend the tree and the druids in the grove...they will fail with there attack, it's time to break mey rules and do what i should do a long time ago..."

After hearing of the latest conflict, Horen looks at his court.. ''This is interesting so Silver threatens the leaf?'' he says calmly ''But one might think is this only between the High Elfs and the Druids or shall this become a war between the two city-states.'' he looks around. ''And if war did break out I wonder what would be our stance, would we stop it or would we let them fight it out.'' he says thinking out loud.

Ivar reads the Haiku, his hands clenching to fists as he grunted, an odd act for him. "Ivar always treat rude as children, but now both High Elf and Malnor bad. If this go for fight, Ivar be by himself to stop both side. Even if Ivar die, he will die not with Malnor or High Elf, he will die to keep peace for both!" Ivar turns in a huff before shaking his head and continuing down the path.

With Vallel and Elphaba at his side, Arzota carefully writes in a deep purple ink, grinning as he does.

Let it be known that this day The Fallen stand with the Druii in opposition to the Mali'aheral. To the Druii of Mali'nor, know you have the whole of our forces with you along with any materials we can supply. Send a request pertaining to armor and weapons if you feel it necessary... we have plenty of both. Do not count my word for this, but there may be members of other factions to assist your defense as well. We look forward to seeing you in the future, yours:

Arzota would send the bird off immediately, making preparations for the impending battle.
((Yes, all druids would know of this ic if told, as it is being sent to the arches.))

*Art takes the news solemnly, folding his arms, thinking evenly over his desk.*

"I don't see tragedy in trees burning. I don't see irony in selfish actions of the Mali'aheral. I see two people of whom should be one people, ready to tear at each other and ignore the giant looming shadow overcast on both of them ready to roll over the two."

Art snatches up some papers, growling in frustration at the amount of paperwork yet to be done.

"You could do your job as a Regent, Kalenz, the mindlord's hand. Or you could continue to burn down greenery for reasons obligatory."

He sighs, pacing out his cave of a room.

As talk of this new danger circulates the forest, Riel'a stands tall upon the mountain, overlooking Leumaelin in all its splendor.  Her pondering painter has if a statue, passersby can hardly attest to her actually being alive.  Still, within the head of moss and wood some form of brain formulates thought - This is becoming worse for the Willows and Saplings of the Druii....and for the forest...where is the Song Willow, why does he forsake his duty...

The great being suddenly shifts her weight, and begins to advance into the forest, her footsteps shaking the very ground beneath her.

The Bird Druid sighs as he reads the note.

"So, open conflict? And I thought mali'aheral were smart! This one could have at least written his haiku correctly!"

*Dimaethor reads the news somberly. He sighs, unsheathing his sword and wiping down the blade.*

"I wonder how the Highguard will respond to this. Best be ready in any case..."

Elindor spends a long time laid across a tree limb watching the commotion rise about the note. He ponders many implications but can only laugh as elves draw sword. He mumbles to himself "It seems many have never entered mortal combat with a high elf before. Foolhardy opposition will only cause the spilling of blood. Do none yet care about the curse of our people?"

He ponders a bit more before realising he is speaking to himself again.

((Elindor's last name is Silverleaf. Funtimes))
