Im going to ask that you watch the live stream it addresses all of your questions and will show you some cool features as well.

Could anyone write down the answers to these things? A video is hard, a videa is people talking where you can't hear the questions, and where you can't make follow up questions. I pretty much stopped watching the video when I found a huge problem with one of the things that Telanir said, and couldn't ask him anything about it, nor did he even mentioned it.

I ask someone to write down the things that will be changed and added with the pvp plugin, and ONLY those associated with normal everyday fighting with less than 4 members, because that is where the debate about this is about.

BoogerBusters blog is a fantastic solution to this problem. He has taken his time to gather everything into one post.

Although I do think a few points were missed about plugins in particular, which is why everyone should attend tomorrow's broadcast.

I'm really getting sick of people saying "Aegis was so better it was so awsome blah blah blah blah you weren't in Aegis blah blah blah blah you don't know what you're talking about because you weren't in Aegis". I don't understand it. Simply because you were in Aegis doesn't mean much other than you're probably a good roleplayer and go on the server often. Honestly, people who joined in Asulon or Anthos are just as good as people in Aegis. It gets a little ridiculous. If you want to roleplay like it was in Aegis then go do it instead of complaining how things in Aegis were better.

That isn't how this conversation has happened at all. Not even a little bit. We have been a bit immature at times, but very little have we complained  about this not being Aegis. I urge you to read what was actually said, as I believe this opinion is mis informed, mate. ^.^

I don't think anyone is saying it like that, they're only referencing Aegis because it happens to be when this proposed option was put to the test. Don't be sour!

That's kind of the impression i'm getting from a lot of Aegis players, Shift. I'm not being sour. I'm simply tired of people saying how much better it was in Aegis and how bad it is now. It gets annoying.

Whew! You guys are about to hit fifty pages, quite a long argument. Now, excuse me if this suggestion has already been thrown out there, for fifty pages is far too much for me to skim through. But here’s an idea I was thinking about yesterday when I first saw this poll. Why doesn’t the one who is being attacked/victimised in the situation the one who gets to pick whether or not they want PvP or RP? I’m pretty sure that the ones who are attacking are usually villains, also known as people who make applications to provide fun RP on the server. Why not hold them true to their testament that they just wish to provide a fun experience for all? If the victim wishes to RP it, then so be it, the villain should allow it to happen in the name of him providing a fun experience on the server, same thing with PvP.

But Racing, what if it’s not someone being attacked, but a fight that occurs due to both parties? Well, in this situation, I’d recommend that you figure it out OOC’ly first, but if that’s not an option, why not have a system in place in which the one who attacks first forfeits any claim to whether or not the battle should be RP or PvP. I think that’s only fair due to the person who first attacks is the one who is pushing the battle on the other party.

And if they are to attack one another at the exact same time? Well, I don’t really have an answer to that, but I would strongly recommend, as I did in the last situation, to figure it out OOC’ly first. If you can’t do that, then I’d say don’t partake in the forthcoming battle, it’ll just turn into an OOC conflict.

In my opinion, I see this benefitting both sides. The one who tried to get the battling experience gets it, and the one who’s being attacked isn’t forced into a type of battle they wish not to partake in. But I dun’know I don't even get into fights on the server, so maybe I'm just talking gibberish. What do you guys think? Feedback, critisism? Good idea, bad idea, does it need expansion?

Yes.  This.  Very much so.  Perfectly provides protection to people from item-hungry marauders, but allows for PvP if it seems right.  Can I also add to this perhaps:  PvP is default for evenly-matched parties of six or more (evenly matched meaning similar equipment and numbers,) and also default in the Wilds and Orkish Badlands.  You know that sense of deep, lingering terror and on-edgeness that is completely absent from the wilds?  Make PvP default there, see how people like making little dirt huts THEN.

Now this is a tale all about how

My RP got flipped-turned all around

And i'd like to type a LOOC

Just AFK right there

I'll tell you how I became a princess of a realm called Aegis

In west Salvus born and raised

On the pavillion was where I spent most of my days

Chillin' out maxin' RP'in all cool

And all shooting some halfling outside of the walls

When a couple of Orcs who were up to no good

Started making trouble in my Alkhazaar-hood

I got in one little PVP fight and my mom got scared

She said "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Asulon'

I begged and pleaded with her thread after thread

But she packed my bio up and set me on my way

She gave me a kiss and then gave me my modreq ticket

I didn't put a ban report up and said "I might as well kick it."

First RP, yo this is bad

People complaining out of their ass

Is this what the people of Asulon are living like?

Hmmm this might be a long night.

But wait I hear they're whiney, complainers, all that

Is this the type of realm that they just drop good RP'ers at?

They don't think so

They'll OOC when I get there

I hope they're prepared for the princess of clicky-clicky.

Well, the boat landed and when I came out

There was a dude who was a mage standing there with his wand out.

I ain't trying to get zapped yet

I just got here

I sprang with the quickness of Pugy, ran him through!

I whistled for a carriage and when it came near

The peasant-driver said ((omg no rp and complained thrice in a minute

If anything I could say that this OOC was rare

But I realized "Nah, forget it - RP fightings just dram-a."

I pulled up at the duchy at about 7 or 8

And I yelled to the Peasant "Hail peasant i'll BR you later!"

I looked at my kingdom, I was finally here

To sit on my throne and listen to OOC whin-ers.

I get bored sometimes. I also hate OOC-fests in RP. People should just loosen up and have fun sometimes, ya know?

What you perceive as "Complaints" Are actually attempts at fixing the problem they see. It is not a complaint simply because you do not agree with it. I believe several Aegis veterans have made outstanding and in depth posts! Surely that is not complaining!

If Aegis was as great as they say, I simply don't understand why we don't create a role-play time thing like a paradox, and re-create Aegis... It really does sound great, but I guess not when you haven't experienced it.

On another topic, I am sticking with role-play. I would much rather do a mind/word game than a click game. Click is for Diablo, not for an ever evolving roleplay server.

Another thing I don't get... Why did we change from PvP to RP if it was so great? Why are we ONCE AGAIN changing something that needn't be fixed?

Aegis was pretty great, I don't think they mean the Map of Aegis but the way it worked, as it was pretty lax as Boy wonder said up there. Also I don't think many people would like another big change such as that.

The plugin before had issues and people were found just spending there time getting skill points, so the system was removed and has been a work-in-progress for a long time.

I would honestly love PvP if the following things are met when the system is introduced:

1. When wearing armour you are slowed down. Bring back the plugin - there isn't going to be anymore RP fights so special armors that don't give you any penalty and are as durable as steel aren't really in play.

2. Cannot pull armour from your bottom. You can't shift click your armour on before a fight unless you have RP'ed wearing it before. If you are going to RP putting it on, it must not be one emote and you are all set for the fight. (Also, do you just carry your armour on your back?)

3. Keep the knockout plugin, and the winner tells the other to /damage 20.

4. RP is default for magic users unless an appropriate plugin has been added in to re-place that.

5. Items such as fish and brews are not allowed in any PvP fight.

6. Make many different changes to MC weapons. There should be at least 3 different types of swords: Daggers, One-Handed Swords, Greatswords. Swords, Axes and Picks (Hammers and other blunt weapons) should all have their own bonuses in PvP such as Swords being faster hitting and axes having more damage on armour and picks giving you slow or blindness.

Other than that, the system would clear up a lot of the headache of a lot of the aspects that make people angry about the server.

EDIT: If any of my ideas have already been discussed or solved forgive me for I didn't really have the time to go through 50 pages of comments.

Okay-

RedPK, DarkJames, Relgard and Demonxerov2. If you have nothing new to add then please move on, you 4 are just throwing the same arguments out and bickering... this is a thread to learn what the community wants, not who can shout the loudest longest. We understand your views and ask that you let others voice their opinion without being beaten into the earth for having a different view.

If you continue to post without adding new ideas/perspectives to this thread I will issue warnings.

Lel so you are basically prohibiting me from arguing about a point with which I have held my rage back? Good one.

That point could be argued both ways. One could say we changed something that didn't need to be fixed and want the better alternative back.

This should be our compromise. Gaius's system is entirely too complicated, but I would have voted for what's in this quote right here.

For those who are too lazy to read it, the victim in an attack chooses RP or PVP. So if a bandit attacks a random traveler, the traveler gets to decide.
