And the sun still shines on regardless!

Well, maybe not, but you get what I mean.

I've got the server back up and running, and will be keeping a close eye on it for the next few hours.

All is well. ^-^

from the perspective of a guy who has followed this server/site since Aegis but never actually played on it, i have to say that the OOC story of this place is almost as interesting as the IC one.

i hope you will come out of this as a stronger community and that you will continue to make this a server which i envy more and more each day.

Glad to see you post this Danneh... I think we all needed a bit of a moral boost/order to calm down.

We'll get through this one way or the other, and hell maybe we could actually gain something from players lost~

((Not to sound cynical or anything that is))

Well said, from the staff staying I have seen nothing but hard work towards fixing problems and staying positive so far. Lets hope it stays that way!

This quote seems pretty appropriate right now:

"And why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up."

LOTC has experienced minor turbulence in its community, the leavers are a small issue compared to what we have faced beforehand. The hacking? Not so much. But as always, the community and staff alike have prevailed.

And yes, I did just take an inspirational quote from Batman Begins. Deal with it.

My question is, how will we display this in roleplay?

From what I've seen, the majority of those leaving are those that reside in Oren. Meaning that roleplay there could be nearly destroyed. The throne is up for grabs, and that means that greedy players IC will likely take their pursuit OOC. Is the Staff going to monitor this?

My idea to keep things going, and to create a mood of gloom IC, is to simply add 'The Black Death' into lore. We could just add a small bit of lore about how it swept through and killed off most of Oren, and left the throne open, and caused chaos. It rightly describes the events, and adds new depth to those who survive. I think it would be a great way to tell this story!

Finally, some positive attitude around here! LotC will continue to flourish so long as we have the awesome community that we have.

1. Most of Oren's leadership hops onto a ship and sails off Anthos. That is how they vanish.

2. No plague not right now.

3. The throne is not for grab, there are still a couple of Horens around the place with the right on it.

It will be really interesting to see the RP that results from this power shakeup. When one door closes, another opens!

I think it is a good thing. Now would be a good time to restrict noble families from growing too large.

Danny, thank you for your near-constant help and love that you provide to this server, this community. Without people like you, this whole site would have gone t*ts up a long time ago.

I can whole-heartedly say that this community and the people within it have made a larger impact in my life than any other group, and have helped me through many a hardship.

I may be but 18 years of age, but that statement is no less true, and the experience I've had with this server is no less profound. I'm going to be staying for as long as I have access to the internet.
