What do you mean it wont work? Pretty sure it works fine for everyone else... #Quack

There's a difference between slight advantages, such as orcs and horses, and massive advantages, such as mages.

You're asking the high elves to risk giving up the main source of their rp, for something that will likely result in an hour or two of a battle, followed by a few days of fun rp, then going off to do something else.

They don't even have to let you attack. If they wanted to, they could just say 'no' and nothing would happen. They are completely in control of this, and you should appreciate the fact they are trying to compromise in the first place (Honestly, if I were in the Helv's situation, I wouldn't even go past 'wait till Magic Plugin').

If minecraft had magic, but no swords, would you want to defend your town from a horde of mages, only with a few unarmed 'swordsmen' as your side, or wait for the sword patch?

Only when 'everyone else' are swordsmen.

I don't really know what the point of this thread was. You asked for solutions to this problem, you were given dozens, and you said no to all of them. You simply continued your stance on "No, we're waiting for the plug in."

If you were going to do that from the start, why did you even make this thread?

Can i ask a super simple question? Here it is why can they decline or put hold on a war-claim because they don't have there special plugin? There pretty much saying hmm we are gonna lose if we don't have this plugin, Hey i have a great idea lets just say no to this war-claim on us!

Do note that Relgard, Lago, and Lego along with many others making points on this thread don't have high elves and are participating purely because they wish to have input on it. Realistically speaking Relgard's character is a criminal in Haelun'or who would be killed, this isn't the high elves simply refuting things.

Because warclaims are handled as events right now.

Anybody can deny or accept a warclaim right now.

Because without the plugin you could have practically five guys with full iron take the entire city. With the plugin you would be hard-pressed with twenty or thirty.

They aren't allowed to. Furthermore, high tier mages are much more powerful than you average swordsman, or even orc. They would still be at a major disadvantage.

A T5 mage is, in an open field of battle, equivalent to the strength of five armored soldiers. On an uneven field, where the mage has a sustained advantage (such as casting from a wall), that number may be even higher.

In terms of ooc pvp bodies, Haelun'or is fairly weak, yes. In terms of IC, RP abilities (Magic), they are a very strong force.

Assuming the mage can hit. Remember it is against magic rules to instakill people by summoning a inferno underneath their feet. If the dwarves end up getting involved, we can just bring two very, very powerful mages - Hiebe and Kilgrim along with the host of other t4 and t5 dwarven mages and cook the city without even having to enter it by this logic. There is an optimum range for magic, not too close and not too far. From walls to were a ballista and archers standing lets dodging become very possible for anything but electrical evocation (since electricity travels at a fraction of the speed of light it would be functionally instantaneous hit).

Remember, just because you can see a foe, doesn't mean you can strike it down.

Yes tier five in magic is very powerful, but what damage would it do to my shield? five sword and board guys and overtake a mage rather easily  and truly how fast can a tier 5 use a spell like a fireball and how big would it be these are all variables in which magic and warriors have to sit down and discuss.

High Tier mages can also summon spells quite quickly. Furthermore, your armor wouldn't protect very well from a fireball. It'd just make sure you get cooked all throughout when the metal gets heated. Thing is, a T5 mage CAN chuck out fireballs rather quickly, as they are at the epitome of their abilities.

I want to make it clear the orcs as a nation are not participating in this. There are two shamans now as well, above Tier 3 that is, Grool(VonAulus) and Elpheba(kizumachan). We are not going to fight in this battle.

Also to address the level of egotistical jeering and insults flung at us ooc, myself, Grool, will not permit a single raid or conquer on your city as long as I am in charge. You have made it clear through ooc threats and bitching that you want nothing to do with the rest of the community, so you are welcome to your magical city and me left alone by me.
