As someone who has engaged in far too many CRP duels on this server, I'll give you my two cents. Most CRP fights that you'll take on the server will never end up how you expect them to. You'll often find yourself disagreeing with attacks your opponents make or defensive maneuvers they take. In this case, I think you'll find it useful to reach out to them in the OOC chat or through /msg and politely ask them to further explain their move. If they don't convince you, I'd suggest trying to find a middle ground and if not that, asking a server moderator what they think. I know you currently feel discouraged about the CRP system, but it is a part of the game. Undoubtably, your first experience seemed horrible but I'm sure you'll eventually run into other players who just want to create a prestigious narrative and will be much more amenable in combat. Don't let this one experience ruin one of the most exciting elements of the server for you.

I agree mostly with what Crevel said, though I do believe he could have accomplished such more eloquently. This "guide" seems like it'll set New Players up for failure. Much of the advice on this post will lead players to creating a persona with main character syndrome; tragic backstory, cute lil' quirks, trauma dumping, etc. I believe your heart is in the right place and I do think it's a good idea for an official character creation guide to be published but currently this will only lead to a James2k reddit post about how players need to stop larping as a main character.

Hence why my suggestion was to modreq to open gates when nations are on CD. I can understand why gates are closed during events but when a nation is on CD they should keep their gates open. Plus if youre having problems with roleplay bandits they should probably be dealt with in a roleplay matter instead of mechanically blocking them out of your city.

I complained about this in OOC chat yesterday so I 100% agree. While I understand those who are arguing that it's a settlement problem it is becoming a server problem. Upon spending a few minutes getting to a nation only to find their gates closed many players get discouraged. Repeat this once or twice more and most players will just log off. Additionally look at this problem from a noob standpoint. If I join a roleplay server and can't find any roleplay I'm just going to log off and return to SRP. As you mentioned, I think rules preventing permanently unmanned shut gates are a great idea. Players should be allowed to creq or mreq for the main gates of nations to be opened if they're unmanned and on raid cooldown. This will at least prevent raiding parties from abusing the system while allowing roleplays to roleplay.

I was going to flame you for how inaccurate most of this is but it seems Flemish beat me to it. Though, I'm pretty sure KP wasn't TOSed in the end anyways and he was just banned for "Toxicity". Also "I don't know why Alty is currently banned, but if it is for simply the allegedly racist messages he once sent in CMU Discord three years ago, I don't think he should remain banned for that" 🤨
