  1. Kor'garr the Clanless nods in approval upon seeing the quickly issued announcement stripping the unworthy of a clan name. He ponders in thought, rubbing a large underbite with his bulky grey toned thumb and forefinger. "Perhapz dah Ragukz ahr zhedding dah uld kursez uv diz'onur. Mey Gazigazh blezz dehm wit' nobul grizh en diz nu era vor der klan." The mustached orc continues his preparations to hunt down the newly banished cultist, a gleam of contemplation stirring within his crimson pupils all the while...
  2. Kor'garr the Clanless, already prepared to hunt down this traitor, nods in understanding as he receives the missive from his new teacher's hands. Crimson eyes flicker accross the paper until a cruel leer spreads across the mustached orc's face. "Dabu, Motzham. Kor'garr wihl nub ceaze uhntil lat peepz dah wurm'z grukker on'ag zpyke!" A howling cry of rage and impending death resounds through the humid air of San'Velku from Kor'garr's scarred chest and gaping maw, weapons of various kinds sharpened to savage edges . Nearby warriors and shamans alike grin in anticipation to destroy a most hated foe to all proper children of Krug's lineage. "LUP'KOR!"
  3. Kor'garr the Clanless snarls as he dons himself with glaive and quill, both being his preferred weapons to challenge and slay his enemies. The greyskin, usually jolly, wears upon his face an expression of righteous fury while stomping about in his oddly silent chainmail boots. "Zoggin' vormur Raguk wytewazh vylth. Kor'garr wihl 'av tu zpred dah Blah uv dehm zoh dey kan pey vor der krymez!" Swift steps out of his tower lead towards the nearby aviary, intent on beginning communications for a widespread search. thick grey lips curl gutturally around bulky tusks as flecks of premature bloodrage spark within crimson eyes. "Mey Zcorthuz agh Votar azzizt en dah zwift vengeanze upon diz trazh. Kor'garr goez tu hunt!"
  4. Kor'garr the Clanless laughs brightly upon hearing the news, knowing it will be a feast and another article for his paper. The grey orc looks into his closet for his formal-wear... before realizing he has none. "Hmm.... Dat'z'ag problum."
  5. Has Rilka picked up the Krugsmas present yet? Ok jokes aside what has been your favorite RP experience on LotC? Could be big, small, anything also why? Also favorite persona you have interacted with and why? If there was one small element of LotC (think peeve or common annoyance, not THE TILE SYSTEM. XD) you would change immediately given the final say, what would it be?
  6. Kor'garr the Clanless - well, Kor'garr the Announcer now, looks upon the missive with a wide smile beneath his handlebar mustache, having just set a slab of dense newspapers by the entrance to Krugmar. His eyes shine in vibrant mirth as he looks over the notice for preparations. "Wehl dehn, guezz diz parti iz gettyng ztarted! KAHAHAHAHA!" He then pauses for a moment mid way through the roaring barks of laughter, chest frozen in exhale. A bulky grey digit idly scratches at the bald orc's gleaming forehead. "Hmm, wulda bin 'hozh tu hav grukked diz ztuvv bivor releezyng dah peypur. Oh wehl, guezz Kor'garr kan juzt nayl et tu dah notize board az wehl." A small chuckle escapes from between thick tusks before the Orc begins his travels to spread the good news.
  7. [!] Throughout the lands of Almaris, all existing stacks and baskets for the Kaktuz weekli are restocked with an attached note scribbled in vibrant inks. The new papers smell heavily of mashed berries and jungle wood. [!] A NEW ISSUE OF THE KAKTUZ WEEKLI HAS BEEN RELEASED!
  8. 【♢――♦】 Bundles of newspapers would be spread throughout Almaris for all to see. While written cleanly and vividly upon dense sheets of high quality parchment, the pages of blocky script would also be covered in scribbled cute doodles! Including a brand new BRAND! 【♢――♦】 Vol. Dub (II) Azh’Kint”Azhty’Azh (CXI) (111) of the Second Age ✦✧―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――✧✦ It is time for all to sharpen their blades, don their armor, and prepare for a grand assault against our Great Enemy! Recently the Rex Willi of San’Velku, in keeping with the honour and courage of Krug-kind, has declared that the Iron Horde shall stand alongside our allies in Balian to defeat a new threat. In his own words, “The urukim of the Iron Horde declare their full support, militarily and logistically, to the people of Balian in the wake of threats of destruction from the undead dragon known as Cloudbreaker” This support will encompass everything from soldiers, weapons, and magic, to more nub-klomping aid such as protection and vital needs for the civilians forced away from their homes after the undead filth’s brutal attack upon their capital. The Kaktuz Weekli staff are filled with pride and inspiration upon seeing the people of Krugmar set aside the vile curse of Bloodlust in order to work together with our fellow descendants in Honorable combat against our true foes; the darkness that threatens all life upon Almaris. In the meantime, the shara Rex known as His Royal Majesty Alexander the Azht (I) of Balian has announced a grand summit for all the nations of Almaris to attend, so that more of Descendant kind can work together in defeating this monstrosity! In the Human Kings missive he explains “It is with these desires that we establish ‘The Atrus Covenant’, to mark both the occasion of this summit and to cement our united goal in staving off the onslaught of the undead Cloudbreaker and its minions.” Which is a lot of zhara blah for “Lets get ready to Klomp a Nubded Dragon.” PREPARE FOR THE WAGH, EVERYONE! Such an event will happen on the Azhty’H’gakhth (XVIII) day of the next Daumanlob (Snow’s Maiden) at their Palati Monterosa (Kor’garr assumes that’s their bub’hozhest and most fancy castle). ✦✧―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――✧✦ After an understandable pause in frustrations due to the general good cheer during the Krugsmas celebrations across Almaris, it is regrettable to see a return to the usual hostilities between the proud Iron Ugz and our aggressive neighbors to the South. The children of Krug have by no means forgotten the past offenses against them, including various heretical insults, slander, false claims against our Rex, and recently the senseless slaughter of a brother who was blessed by the spirits himself to be gifted animalistic features in honor of the Brazen Bull, all of which no apologies have been issued for. Because of this, Rex Willy of San’Velku has released an announcement declaring the Banishment and exile of all those who follow the banner of Celia’nor from lands of the Horde, in order to, in his own words, “Protect all citizens of the Iron Horde from the destructive tendencies and dark magicks the people of Celia’nor wield and use at their disposal with little to no regard for the rest of the realm.” The Kaktuz Weekli wonders how the void-aligned and darkspawn colluding nation will respond, if they decide to at all. The obstinance of the ‘elven’ nation concerning political matters is quite well known at this point… ✦✧―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――✧✦ Whispers have been spreading around the spiritual circles, mentions of celebration and trials… The Kaktuz Weekli refers, of course, to the upcoming Vau’Loz! The Vau’Loz is a grand ceremony spanning the lengths of multiple Cactus Weeks, where believers in the spirits from all nations and origins gather to compete in trials, give offerings, and prove their belief and strength in the eyes of the Spirits! This event has not occurred in many, many ages, yet the creation of the Grand Moot has finally brought back the connections required to make such a wonderful display of honor, strength, and worship take place. After some discussion with the event organizers, Kor’garr is delighted to announce the Moot is seeking event hosts, organizers, announcers, and laborers of all kinds to help prepare the events and contests. Such work shall be done in Krugmar, Nor’asath, and even other locations, consisting of both building event sites and representing the Moot during said events. Please reach out to Kor’garr or the esteemed Zhomo Qudlia Jusmia for more information, either in person or with a bird… Agh yub, Kor’garr will provide payment. ✦✧―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――✧✦ Many wish to warm up by a roaring flame during the winter chill, or recover from the heat of too much mead with a taste of winter. In that case, look no further than the wonderfully soothing Orcish beverage known as an Ungri Cocolog. Originally made my the brilliant goblin Nin’sqeek’Ungri for her ravenous Olog brethren to recuperate after one too many holiday feasts (hence the name) this splendidly sweet treat is made with decadent amounts of rich pale milk combined with decadent dark chocolate for all to enjoy. This festive bittersweetness is then balanced by the generous dollops of honey and her special ingredient of infused oracle wood extract, creating a soothing calm that can settle even the most voracious olog’s hanger tantrums. What’s best is this special beverage can be served either chilled (making a rich layer of cream float atop the heavier liquid) or heated (making for a smoother drink that will alleviate any post blizzard sniffles)! Kor’garr personally enjoys his cocolog piping hot with some of those wonderful marshmallow cubes the musin introduced me to, as they slowly melt into the beverage over time for more sugary goodness. Nevertheless, these drinks come in staggeringly large bottles and should be consumed quickly after opening, lest the rich milk spoil in warmer weather. P.S. Kor’garr has experienced first hand the folly of serving this to Musin. It is milk based, and they cannot handle dairy to save their stomachs… Please don’t, for everyone’s sake, let them drink it without ample warning. ✦✧―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――✧✦ This is a wonderful time for any worshiper of the spirits! Recently our renowned Motsham (head shaman) Al-Uk'Yar has announced the beginning of a grand union between spiritual states and nations across all of Almaris! This coalition begins with the formation of deeper ties between the shamanistic circles of Krugmar and the Ashen State of Nor'Asath, and with the spirits blessings will grow to include the Halfling peoples in our near future. In the meantime, concerns have been raised over the origins of the mojo known only to the writer as “Blood Alchemy” within the Iron Horde. Practitioners claim there is no relation to Dark sources of any kind since it follows the methods of alchemy and the strength of Krug-kind’s ancestral vitality, while spiritual traditionalists under the leadership of our new Motsham call the newly popularized art a disgrace to proper shamanism and worship of the spirits. Only time will tell how this brewing conflict continues to unfold within the Horde. ✦✧―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――✧✦ This issue’s Uruk of the Week is our new rising star, brother Bumba’Akaal! I was very excited to interview my fellow orc at the Betharuz Tavern and hear all about his recent achievements; This wonderful brother has some hefty aspirations and the strength to peep them through to victory! Note that the following are written in approximations of verbal blah to better capture the character of both interview participants. ✦✧――――――――――――――――――✧✦ Kor'garr: …Zoh diz iz dah tik tu kall latzelv vanzi nayms agh tytulz. [A short chuff of mirth before the interview continues.] Zo, Whoo iz Bumba'Akaal? Surely more like him will be needed in the coming times, and the Kaktuz Weekli is delighted to find out how his career in medicine develops! ✦✧―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――✧✦ Recently Skumu has acquired a buub, it was a Krugzmaz gift from Kor'Garr. Skumu is very very thankful, so adding onto Kaktuz weekli is a segment where Skumu shall draw a buub for you all and give you a fact about them! This issue is about how much smarter buubz are than howlers! Buubz are so much smarter they remember where grub is and will never forget! They love grub just like so many Bruddas! Also they can play games! They are the fifth ( H’ ) Most intelligent animal in the world! Skumu loves Buubz so much! Here is Skumu's Buub! His name is Kor'Garr Jr! ✦✧―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――✧✦ Here is where Kor’garr or other members of the Kaktuz Weekli will respond to messages submitted by our readers! Feel free to Blah with Kor’garr or send a bird to San’Velku’s aviary with your questions or stories, and we will put them into the Paper! ✦✧―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――✧✦ “More will be added in later issues! Again, Rulg to the Writer’s Guild of Almaris for their support in this publication. Issues will (now) always be released during the later half of the Grand Harvest. Also please note we are still hiring members for a variety of occupations.” ✦✧―――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――✧✦ Kor’garr - Writer, Zkriptgoth. 9. A grey orc reads the paper, grin manically spreading around thick tusks before harsh bellows of laughter resound theough San'Velku. "KAHAHAHAHA! VYNULLI! Dah ugz iz eiturnyng tu dah roightvul zteyt uv Wagh, even iv wi urukz ahr nub klompyng en diz foight." Kor'garr the Clanless twirls his massive handlebar mustache between bulky digits, chuckling in a gravelly baritone as he returns to writing his newspaper.
  10. Kaktuz Weekli Issue 2 releasing today!

  11. Thank you, this is hilarious and I greatly enjoyed reading it Also a wonderful answer in general. =)
  12. Kor'garr the Clanless walks through the streets of San'Velku, before feeling some odd sense of loss mixed with approval. The disciple of Kor simply nods in calm understanding... A brother must have entered Kor's gates recently, and passed into the Stargush'Stroh. He pulls out a piece of paper, writing down notes in his beginning steps of investigating. "Lup'Kor, vor'ag bruddah haz diparted vrom uz zunz agh dawturz uv Krug tu joyn dah anzezturz amongz dah ztartz... Diz rikwiyurz'ag propah memoriyul, agh wyth eni lukk dey rikorded der pozt-vlat wizhiz..." The Mau'Kor prepares for a search on the missing brethren's location and any will or desires for posthumous treatment of his mortal shell.
  13. A certain clanless Orc simply grins widely through his thick handlebar mustache when looking over the missive. Surely the audiences will be astounded by the honor, dignity, and artisanship of proper Orc Kulture? He begins preparations for the trip... and his performance.
  14. @squakhawk I noticed the heavy discouragement for Tracking/Sensing/ "Info gathering" magics and abilities, how does that apply to the current iteration of Seers and Prophecy/Visions?
  15. Ok, CONCERNING RESOURCES: We have two overall camps, One, the Pit People which advocates for pits and other methods of easily obtaining max amounts of resources quickly so they can return to RP. They think nodes are bad because of map travel time and lack of quantity necessary to actually run things. Number two, we have the Node Nerds, who want to see more of the Map be useful and believe having in map resources helps with giving reasons to actually interact with Almaris. They think pits are bad because of immersion breaking and general OOCness, as well as destroying scarcity of certain resources. Personally I believe both sides are valid. However, one is advocating for mechanics that avoid detracting from RP, while the second advocates for an Idea that could generate RP! Let me explain. If each tile has access to (one or more) resource nodes (Smol Tile advocate here), ones that are available for general use, that makes them valuable. That value could be increased if a playerbase owning AND MAINTAINING the tile in some way (through minas probably) is able to increase the yield or efficiency of those nodes... and then has an advantage compared to other populations on the server in generating a surplus. Similarly, tiles abandoned return to their base states and are still available for all to use as necessary. Now, am I saying the base states should be restrictive? Heck no, builds are expensive and having large amounts of blocks quickly is good. In fact that is what is missing from our current node system. So now all areas are unique. Valuable, because of the resources they can offer to everyone and the opportunity to gain a material advantage after investment. Settlements are made around the more special deposits because of their usefulness (Wood is everywhere but a premier Iron Mine is no small thing), and having a wider area of land under control both actually means something and gives tangible benefits instead of being a money sink. Businesses form, trade is created, and then those communities can decide how much they want to restrict access to resources they control. Maybe other nations need to pay a fine to access the coal deposits? Suddenly tile ownership isn't simply a flex or activity mechanic, but actively plays a role in the resources said nation or settlement can bring to bear. Fighting over empty land is silly, but a needed resource stockpile that translates to wealth and influence for the victor? Now that's some good RP reasoning for a conflict. This isn't to say that building blocks should be gatekept. Much the opposite! Most resources, even more miscellaneous blocks, should be widely available so that players can, well, play. Rare and more valuable nodes, on the other hand, can be treated differently than mycelium or birch wood. Does this mean geographical locations will impact build style? Yes, and that is perfectly fine! Dark Oak in the savannah shouldn't be impossible, but it should require more effort to build with resources that the region has no reason to have in abundance. I for one would love to see a plethora of nodes out in the world for people to use. Maybe they are global cooldown and not individually instanced? Or maybe that's too much. Either way, it would give people a reason to interact with the world of LotC around them instead of just sitting in the plaza. I might talk about the tile system and roads/travel later, but just letting the focus be on this for now.
  16. Good lord... The necessary work is never the easy work, huh? I have some concerns about the continued validity of old lore that directly contradicts the spirit of these changes, but making it easier to understand how to make future projects really helps the Paybase focus more on being creative instead of figuring out how to lawyerspeak so their submission falls within some vague preferential guidelines. Thank you all Also pls no Loregames entire communities and playerraces of RP have still not recovered from that in terms of submissions and shelved lore. Thank you.
  17. PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF I mean, we can always dream right? But nooo, apparently those are "landscars" and we should all hang out in nation capitals instead. XD
  18. Well hello there! I play Kor'garr, who was first Dominus (SNL) and then Rex (NL) Of the War Kingdom/ Rexdom of Krugmar almost a year and a half ago. It has since been rebranded multiple times with massive OOC community changes but the overall nation lorewise is the same. I look forward to answering these questions! [writing responses now]
  19. Not even read all the way through but I know I will want to talk about this.
  20. Kor'garr the Clanless gleefully looks forward to watching the fights and making a masterpiece for the victor using the spirit forge.
  21. Kor'garr the Clanless lets out a joyous laugh as he reads the declaration, his mustache trembling with each roar of mirth. Bulky grey fists are thrown up into the air of the Betharuz Tavern. "Vynulli! Wiz'ahr riturnyng tu dah 'hozh agh 'onurabul weyz uv KRUG!" The monochome orc takes a deep breath before rearing back to unleash a mightly bellow. "LUP'SCORTHUZ! TU WAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH!"
  22. Kor'garr has placed presents below the tree!
  23. PRESENTS and PREPARATIONS To all in the city of San’Velku: That special time known to us all as Krugsmas is just around the corner! While we all know that ‘hozh’uld San’ta Klawz will bring us his usual presents and good cheer (Along with the miracle of snowfall), Kor’garr gruks we should also make sure that offerings of the benevolent winter are given from Orc to Orc (Honoraries included of course). For this reason, Kor’garr will be placing some containers where everyone can place items for each other at their leisure. Just drop in the gift, along with a note labeling the gift and the desired recipient, and everything will be unwrapped during the Krugsmas celebrations (or thereabouts) underneath the tree! In the meantime, Preparations for the upcoming feast must be made so the Grubgoth has ample grubbins to actually, well, cook with. And grog to drink. Also someone should harvest the current batch of cactus green pretty soon, that stuff is getting so ripe Kor’garr can smell the dankness halfway across the goi. Annnd the traditional Myzteri Ztew agh Grog for Popo Krugsmas needs to be put together. Ok simply put the bub’hozhezt party of the year is approaching and Kor’garr wants it to be the stuff of legends. When will it be? Ask the zoggin’ Rex i’m not in charge of this! Just get it into your grukkers that this is going to happen! In merriment and with joy, Kor’garr the Clanless
