Screams echoed out only to be drowned out by the storm around them, soon many were in the water paddling for their lives in a blur before the storm broke - leaving the many who sailed for safety washed up on a beach, the ships turned into a twisted scene of destruction around the shore. Bruised and Bloodied many were before an odd group of Monks showed up to the shores, beginning to care to the wounds of the many. Those who came conscious would find themselves here, in the uncharted world of Atlas. It may not have been the destination that they were sailing for but for now... it was Home.” So guys, sorry for the late release post! We’ve been doing a lot of plugin changes and it’s been a large effort but we’re now ready to go and so after this post Atlas will be going up live. The boats have wrecked on their way to their destination and now we’re here in Atlas! So, onto some of the details! The World When you spawn in CT you’ll want to follow the road straight until you reach a fork in the road. At this fork you can go into the mine world, head north, or head south. All the nations are marked on there for ease of travel. In addition to the South there is a fair grounds which has been decorated nicely for Krugsmas! In addition the World Dev team will be out in force. Builds of lower quality that are found will be given a warning or aided if possible or removed if it is too poor, potentially with a punishment for doing so. A Map When? We're going to work on getting https://www.lordofthecraft.net/map/ to display Atlas as soon as we possibly can. We'll make a post when it's up to view! A little bit more polish The World Dev and Build teams have been working very hard on Atlas lately but it’s still not entirely finished. You might notice a few things missing here and there but not to worry - you might see some helping hands building the world if you run around a tad and don’t stop looking for new things! New Version LotC is now on 1.12.2! Time to update those mods! This will allow us to be more available for newer players who want to join the game and see what we’re about. Regions There will be a plugin very soon for regions but as of this moment it isn’t ready, GMs will be handling manual requests and will announce soon how that is going to happen. For now please respect the builds of others during this period of downtime while we work on options for people to reliably protect their regions! Plugins Personas have gotten a bit of an overhaul on the backend, you’ll see some new exciting things happening soon for them but for now enjoy a new persona menu in either /me or /bme. Some notes; Personas now have their own “attributes” We now can have more than 4 personas We’ve made a lot of changes code-wise so; If you see something report something. There will be glitches.   3. Well Met! As many of you have seen in the post we made here the Lord of the Craft Administration is happy to announce our initiative to bring social media back into the fold. For a long time now we’ve had smaller systems for “Media Teams” wherein individuals can apply to make their own media teams in a sense however, as we all have noticed, this system has not worked out nearly as well as it was initially hoped. So, as of last weekend, the LotC Media Staff has been officially reformed underneath @Ragnio along with @Rella101 , both of whom have already been hard at work producing many wonderful things for you guys to enjoy from news posts, youtube videos, twitch livestreams, along with a more active social media presence. As many of you are aware the last time we did an official “Media Team” it didn’t work out so well, we’ve taken a look at the reasonings for this and do not place the blame solely on the former members. This decay sourced from a few major points, one of the major ones being that the leadership of such a team was not trusted with basic aspects of social media such as youtube upload or twitter access, with minor ones including being a stagnant environment for creators. This time around with the new structure of this media staff it’s all about promoting the individual creativity of the passionate people who want to make LotC all the better while creating a positive and unified team experience. As such, the team currently works as follows; Media Coordinator This role is essentially the individuals who show and express a great aptitude for the daily responsibilities of the Media Staff. They are trusted a great deal and are usually given access by the Administration to the different outlets of LotC Media Contributor This is the entry role to the media staff and is usually comprised of individuals who are skilled in one or more of the following ways; Editing (Screenshots/Video), Voice Acting, or Acting (Making skins, performing for recordings) Media Trial A trial rank before one gains Contributor to ensure that they have adequate skills to assist the Staff group before full promotion Media Coordinators run the Media Staff under supervision of the Administration and are promoted based on work ethic and are also responsible for promoting Media Contributors. Keep an eye out however, more news posts will be coming your way along with several community competitions to try your best in and show the rest of LotC your skills. Please do not try to insert a living creature into the vault, the results have been disastrous. Usage Using your personal vault has never been easier! All you have to do is open up your chat box and type the following: /vault And like magic, the vault opens before your eyes! In here you can safely store your items for the inevitable end of the world so that you may begin anew in the new world! Now, consider carefully what you wish to store in here. You may need to carry life saving supplies, mementos to remind you of why you should strive to do your best, some all powerful relics, or something else of great significance. The possibilities are endless*! "You never know, there could be a dirt shortage" *possibilities are not actually endless but equal to 27x where x is number of items available. You can only store, in each slot, a maximum of one item due to the limited space of the personal vault. In addition, certain items of value must be approved by Vault Staff in order to be stored in your personal vault. Elytra cannot be stored in the vault and Diamond Armor must be approved by Vault-Tec Administration. Weapons and Armor will lose their bonus % roles when stored in the vault. This is non-reversible and Vault-Tec does not take responsibility for any mistakes. If you try to store multiple copies of an item only one will go through. Don't store duplicates. Preserving the written word In the effort to ensure that we carry as much knowledge over to a potential new world as possible your personal vault is also equipped with the book vault 1000 which allows you to store as much of your books as you would want! Use this to carry over the tomes of infinite arcane knowledge, a biography to remind you of who you once were, secrets of a fallen empire, or something even greater… "You never know when you might need to crack a terrible pun." Simply hold the book in your hand and type /storebook and it shall vanish, disappearing into your personal book vault 1000! Vault-tastic! After the inevitable doom falls upon our fair world you can simply type /restorebook to fill your inventory with as many books as you can carry of your stored collection. Good luck!   6. 1. It's not the skills, we are moving to Atlas without Enchants or Potions essentially. This is because unless we write a plugin to prevent you you could theoretically get Sharpness 4-5 enchants, Protection 4, or Strength 2 potions, all of which would be very against what we've been striving for for Minecraft. This doesn't mean anything is gone for good, just that we're launching this way. 2. The Lore/Roleplay components continue on as normal. Mechanically, you cannot enchant or brew potions. 3. Current alchemy ingredients will exist IRP but not mehcanically 4. This is mainly to explain mechanically why this cannot happen, Roleplayly alchemy and alteration are still functioning.

We say Vanilla-type because this is not pure vanilla in the sense that we completely leave it unchanged, we are removing Enchanting, Alchemy, and Diamond armor from vanilla - so to call it pure vanilla would be a lie, so we didn't want to lead people on. There are no other changes at this time.

  12. We're reviewing builder apps for 6.0 now, expect correspondence over the weekend about your applications or submit one if you're interested. Also, a bit of a mistake, I kind of forgot to add a way for me to contact you so expect most of you to get a PM ingame (later form versions ask for your discord which I will use to contact you all.)

I mean I understand why you are upset but Ang was not involved in the builds listed here, he will be accredited with the builds he's contributed to and when we announce the full credits list his participation will be noted within. In addition, if you saw the post I made here I did, in fact, credit Ang and spoke highly of his ability. He has, however, stepped away from the build team at this time as per his own decision after a discussion between He and I. I have no idea how I am egotistical here at all, I speak openly about the fact that this is not my project. It's a group effort of a lot of people far more talented than I, I'm just organizing this. If you want to hate me, sure, but I'm not begging for builders I'm asking the community to help in this and make this map a community project, to extend it beyond just a small team and make it something we can collectively all feel like we are a part of and enjoy.
  14. Thank you! We're still expanding on the map and adding as needed, a lot of the islands right now are really gorgeous and we'll be showing them off. We're quite happy with the ones we have now but we'll be looking to flesh out stuff more, we may add more islands if we feel there's too little Thank you! We're working really hard on it and the desert is next :) We're gonna be revisiting the charter system heavily this time around and putting in more checks to make sure nations are maintaining the activity they obtained nation status with. And lastly, thank you! I really am grateful for all of your positive feedback here, we've been working hard and it means a lot to myself and the builders to hear that you guys like what you're seeing so far. We'll keep working to impress!
  15. We are aiming to reduce Fast Travels and add different solutions to the mix to replace them while enabling roads to be used more. We're not happy with the # of Fast Travels and the community has agreed, I can't promise anything yet - the multiple teams involved with regions and the rest of the Administration have not agreed on anything so I cannot make an open statement like "We're removing all FT", but that is definitely not off the list possibilities and might be my personal preference. Alright, I'll see what I can do.

  17. Still working with nations, currently we've got an idea where Urguan, Oren, Dominion, Sutica (They might change) are going. Haense and Santiega have received info about where they're potentially going and are making a decision. On my books to talk to are Norland, Deivrad, Orcs & Warhawkes (Mesa/Desert being redone so they're delayed currently for a bit), Druids, and Haria maaaaybe? All placements are not final, it's a tenative location that they'll receive should they pass activity checks leading up to map launch or meet another potential critera we're discussing. Mainly sitting down with NLs to ensure we don't build ruins where capitals are going, that we also edit the terrain to NL liking, and that nations have a good idea about what they can expect.
  18. The issue is without having a 4k monitor getting a good image is quite hard, basically the image was stitched together from a variety of hand taken screenshots. It provides (I believe) more detail than the last one but it's not easy to export it to something detailed and large, we do have plans however for a way to showcase the map as a whole to you in an... interactive fashion down the line! So, that might be what you're looking for?
  19. Ya, I started getting into it more while flying around the map. Most of my OG packs (SMP's Revival, John Smith, Dokucraft) I've either used too much or aren't updated anymore. I remembered Chroma and I've enjoyed it, but powdered concrete is kind offputting. Other than that I love it. Now done!
