  1. Going to give it a few days, work starts again tomorrow. I'll be reviewing them after work. Apologies, it does take a while for my computer to switch from texturepack to texturepack and I wanted to post this tonight for you all so I took it in Chroma Hills to try to showcase the build, I'll add vanilla screenshots of the build to the SS dump.
  2. We're still at least 2 months off, we're working really hard to hit our intended launch window and will be announcing the hopeful release date closer to release. We want to make sure we get this map as right as we possibly can for everyone to enjoy for a long while to come.
  3. Greetings LotC! Welcome to the first 6.0 Development Blog, I'm really excited to talk to you about some of the things we're up to when it comes to Lord of the Craft: 6.0! So, in this post we'll be going over where we're at and what we're doing in terms of Lord of the Craft 6.0, which I know many of you are looking for info for - from this point forward we intend to be very vocal with our development process. We apologize for the extended secrecy but we wanted to have some nice stuff to showcase for you guys to enjoy! Progress so far Below you'll find all of our build projects so far in 6.0, along with many images to look at. Enjoy! - As of this weekend we are just about finished with the Cloud Temple build, and we’re happy to show it off. We’re really proud of how far it has come and we hope you are looking forward to it. If you’re looking for a few shaderless screenshots to see the authenticity of it you’ll find those at the bottom, we’re more than happy to share! Massive thanks to @SeventhCircle & @AfricanGlasses for their help here, in addition we're going to try to deliver a timelapse for you on the Cloud Temple build. - The Desert and Mesa are currently receiving overhauling work to change how they look, enjoy this teaser of the Bole Mounds (Mesa) area in it’s WIP state - The map has been created in world machine and then edited by Kilgrim, it boasts several unique locations and terrain that we think you might find quite interesting to explore and experience, such as the Burztorgo Firelands, a firey volcanic land with a shamanistic origin paved in blood... - Ruins are being constructed across the map, such as this ruined castle build by @Navin_! We’ll be showcasing this build with a timelapse in a little while, so hang tight. - Several dungeons have been added to the game already which will boast some unique lore, story, and items at the end of them, but we’ll be saving those for your exploration Livestream announcement Join myself (501warhead), @SeventhCircle and a few other guests next weekend, Saturday the 23rd at 3:00PM EST for an exclusive look at Lord of the Craft: 6.0 at https://www.twitch.tv/thelordofthecraft as we talk about some of the design process and showcase some of the builds we haven’t shown here. We’ll be taking feedback from you all and asking your opinions on a few locations to get an idea as to what you want to see in the next map. Calling all builders! Do you want to help out in this process? 6.0 is being worked on hard but we’re only a small build team so far and we’re looking to change this! We need builders to come on and help us out with building roads, adding rocks and other features to biomes, and help us construct a few ruins or even dungeons! If you’ve got a skill set that matches we’d love to have you on board to help us out. Below is a google form to fill out to apply to join up on the build team, we look forward to working with you all! Plugin Changes, coming through... Soon! We have some changes to announce to our plugins structure for 6.0, including some changes rolling out soon to plugins to make the wait for our larger changes for 6.0 a bit easier! We’ll be talking in depth about the changes coming to Skills, Crafting, and Gathering in general in the very near future (perhaps the next Dev Blog!?) and cannot wait but we want to make sure that we can follow through on our promises so bear with us just a bit longer, we swear it’ll be worth the wait! High Resolution 6.0 Map We’re working a bit with @Deminisher, who has been responsible for some of the amazing parchment style maps around the website of Axios and Vailor, while he’s working on his project he’s provided us with a High Resolution image of 6.0, Enjoy! We’re really proud of how the map is progressing, and we want to show you the work in the best light possible but we think these builds look good without shaders and want to prove that to you as well. The Enclave of Scholars is a guild built around invention and creation, using the resources and means of each member to push forward and create, using innovative talent and ideas to improve the standard of living for both themselves and the world as a whole. This is not a small burden nor is it an easy one but one that must happen regardless. This guild is Sponsored by the Empire of Oren Ranks The First Servant The First Servant is the Guild Master, and the title is an intended reminder that in such a role their superior is the guild as a whole, a representation of the burden of leadership. They are responsible for the direction and motivation of the guild while preserving knowledge. Dean of the Arcane The Dean of the Arcane is the guilds foremost scholar on the affairs of the meta-physical. While the Enclave is devoted to creating advancements that can be created and operated without magical influence the assistance of Magic can make some tasks far simpler. Vacant Dean of the Arts The Dean of the Arts is the guilds foremost scholar on the affairs of Science, focused foremost at explaining natural phenomenons, systems, and events. They are to be a point of contact for all matters of physical questioning Lyat'leh (_SurrenderMaine_) Dean of the Mind The Dean of the Mind is the Enclave's foremost scholar on the affairs of Theory and Practice. They are responsible for the motivation of creation, to be an open thinktank to assist members of the guild with devising ideas. They are the recruiting official for the Enclave Vacant The Enclave Savant The Highest non-officer rank of the guild, the Savant is awarded this title for outstanding achievements and is a badge of pride. Awarded usually for a great leap in Science. Destro A Scholar who has proven that they have mastered a school of thought and proven themselves to the guild. They are entrusted with further secrets than that of Scholars. Scholar One who is learned in a field of Science, Magic, or Arts and have proven such skill to the Triumvirate or have graduated from study as an Understudy. Understudy One who has joined the guild without being learned in a field with the goal of learning to master a Science, Art, or Magic to become a Scholar. Mission The Mission of the Enclave of Scholars is to improve the quality of living for individuals throughout the realms by providing innovations and inventions in Magic, Science, and the Arts to ease the day to day life. In the focus of this most advancements are made with the goal of allowing all to freely have access to it's creations and for the creations to be applicable to day-to-day living without costing a hard-working individual. Arcane, Arts, and Sciences Discussed within this Memoir are three topics of import: Arcane, Arts, and Sciences. Below is the Enclave's official definition of each. Arcane Any action or state which uses Voidal Energies OR Any action or state which uses Life-based Energies OR Any action or state which uses Deity-gifts OR Any topic, action, or state which relates to the meta-physical. Arts The Art of Combat OR The Art of War OR The Art of Brewing OR The Art of Painting OR The Art of Design (Building) OR The Art of Forging OR Any topic which requires mastery Sciences The Science of Nature OR The Science of Energy OR The Science of Land OR The Science of Anatomy OR The Science of Metal OR Any topic which relates to the understanding of the physical world Application You can apply for one of two positions depending on how Learned you believe you are, these being Scholar or Understudy. Understudies may be limited based upon the availability of higher guild members. Understudy Application Scholar Application In order to qualify for a Scholar position you must be able to prove your knowledge of the Arcane (At least "Tier 3" in a single magic of scientific interest to the guild), Arts, or Sciences.   8. Heyo, I've fixed a lot of the issues I've found with the forum layout. Rep hasn't come back yet - we'll look into that - but until then if you notice any weirdness with where stuff is (elements floating over text, etc) reply to this status update with info.

      Fix the existing issues on mobile aswell while you're at it (image on the homepage needs to have the correct dimensions, also pages are twice as wide as they should be on mobile, the quoute button is not easily accesible due to the previous issue aswell. Just to name a few

  12. We've got some plans, just want and see! There's a story behind it! They fit well into the location you'll find them, these are early versions. We've changed a bit :) Patience! It's coming along well.
  13. Greetings Lord of the Craft! Today I'm here to announce a new addition to the LotC staff roster, a team that has been a long time coming. For a bit of history and insight into the Map Development process to understand how it has worked is that either a single individual has spearheaded development ( @shiftnative, who did a fantastic job!) or a member of the administration or staff teams simply stepped up to create a map. An undecided, volatile process that has left us with maps that are less than optimal as we expand into the future, and maps that are torn, broken, and downright griefed at times. Today this changes. The World Development Team In Athera's development Shiftnative employed a team of Map "Developers", a title that was given to the individuals who were passionate about creating maps and content for players. Under his vision and their passion they worked to create a map and explored the ideas they had available to them and tried their hardest to produce a map they believed in. While Athera's success is controversial the Administration has decided that this team needed to be reforged to help us continue to create maps of the quality that the community has come to expect - or even exceed those expectations. The individuals who have been selected for this team so far have shown themselves to be outstanding in their efforts, many have been assisting and continue to assist with the 6.0 development process to this day and are actively talking about ideas and working hard day in and out to create something breathtaking. Starting Roster This team has no head and is appointed by the Administration based upon the levels of shown passion and ability to create. The starting roster is as follows; @Kilgrim Responsible for a large amount of work on 6.0, his skill in worldpainting has created something that many who have seen the map personally have praised. He is an incredible individual who is passionate about the map design process and continues to assist with terrain edits and design. @Ang A builder without peer Ang has dedicated long nights and days to working and creating some of the most amazing builds on LotC to date, including our spawn - Cloud Temple. He leads up 6.0's build process as the Build Lead. @Hiebe A worldpainter who helped create several maps we use today for Axios, accredited with creating Tahn and helping out with the editing of the other maps. He has helped plan the map from the start and continues to contribute greatly! @SeventhCircle A builder who has shown himself more than capable when it comes to creating builds and structures for players to enjoy. Much of the recent event line in the Legacy of Malin is accredited to this individual's persistence, his ideas are infectious, and he's dedicated to the work he does. An honorable mention is @Chaotikal who utilized his skill in World Machine to create the base of 6.0 which has produced one of the most impressive maps I have personally seen to date, and would be among this list if his schedule didn't prevent it. The team is a small, crack team of individuals who collectively can produce something to amaze. We'll be pulling up to two more individuals onto this team in the coming months based off of performance in creating a map for players to enjoy. Responsibilities So what do they do? The World Development Team is focused on creating maps for players to enjoy while maintaining maps that are currently being lived on. They, together with the Administration, will be listening for feedback when it comes to our maps and taking it into account to create better maps for our server and community. For the most part they are spearheading 6.0 development with the Administration but you might see them in game occasionally fixing up landscars or ruined terrain. This team may also be producing several explorable maps throughout the life cycle of 6.0 to expand onto the new map experience. This team is intended to be small and focused so that it doesn't have a huge footprint on the size of our staff, allowing us to implement this sorely-needed role and allow our map development to be agile and make change quickly. Teasers Now, I know what you're thinking. "This is cool and all, but what about 6.0?" and don't worry, we've got you covered.
