Huh, never realised Aemon and Daemon were explained. So wtf did Aemon mean or who/what was he/it?
And yeah I didn't mean that Dragur wasn't explicitly a Daemon in lore, just that I saw him being described as an Aengul in some posts because the distinction is rather vague/unknown rn.
I think it's important to create a sustainable framework and then just stick with it for better or worse. I've said this before in much less polite terms ik, but like it's just bad writing to sweep away old lore whenever it's inconvenient or backs us into a corner. I'm glad you've been looking into ancient **** so much because that's a dedication to consistency, but I think Aengudaemons and the Void in particular are prime examples of places where "new management" in the Lore Team(like 501F0Rehead) has historically led to mass cullings and contradictions of old lore to propel us in a new creative direction, even when it wasn't really necessary. Like I get that a lot of the timeit has to happen, but if things were kept more static rather than Flamboyant crusades to delete all lore because **** it, it'd encourage a lot more people to interact with and learn it. At least in my opinion; my derisive view and inattention towards it has always been because of a cynicism that it'll have changed by the time I read it.
Anyway, enough of a rant and thanks if you got through that, but like please whatever distinctions or whatever you decide upon, try to stick with them no matter what even if they become awkward to write with.

The towers were mentioned as holding the daemon league of evil basically lmfao. From what I understood.
But yeah I'm all for just acknowledging old stuff. The entire Inferi eventline was wiping the mathic age so we wouldn't be written into a corner by 501s interpretation and enforcement of it. Void is a mess, but the very least thing I'm trying to do is to bring back the older concepts of Aengudaemonica and fusing them with modern ones. A really nice facelift overall, since the current resources are insanely lacking and annoying.
Just scared of writing people into a corner, since I'm not going to be around forever and neither is this team. I want to make it as digestible as possible so future people don't go "lol I don't like this let's scrap it"
good to talk to u when u arent foaming at the mouth because you genuinely have good opinions about **** (some of the time)

If you +1 this status I'll send you paternal gifs to fill the void your absent father left in your heart. Indeed.

even with 4 people online it takes me about 5 minutes and a crash to open a chest. that’s ridiculous even for 1.14, there’s definitely more at play here

there’s certainly more to it than 1.14, and im sure a part of it must be 1.14, but the lag issues have lead up even since 1.12 and 1.13, there certainly must be a plugin that’s causing extreme memory problems or something of such, I’m no dev but working with vanilla & modded servers for nearly a decade now I cannot imagine 1.14 alone, or even in majority, is causing the bulk of our problems. The War Server on 1.13 had around 50-60 consecutive players during the battlegrounds and ran smooth as butter, and now even with a decent amount of plugins and commands unloaded it couldn’t hold 20/30 for the test we had not long ago- but Korvic may have been testing something.
It is ultimately regardless of the point and a huge mistake (Both objectively and opinionally) that we are not reverting. Factually, Telanir has been missing for quite some time and assumed the role of two administration positions, and will likely continue to be missing, with the (factual) habits of him disappearing for months at a time, then coming back with a grand change.
This post does not break any forum rules, complain objectively and state hard evidence upon why this is wrong and ultimately a horrible choice for the server, to try and “tough through” an update which is with no contest an extreme detriment to the server, with incredible chunk lag, a halted war thats gone on incredibly long, and a dwindling playerbase where players encourage others to just not play due to the update. Any amount of days in a reverted update with data/items/whatever lost is worth taking the server back to something at least playable. If I was a new player and wanted to join a server, and for a grueling month and a half the server was dead and unplayable, I’d leave- as many have in our time.
I am disappointed and want to see change. My criticism is constructive and I just wish to see things better, when I know they could be.

Just run warclaims on an older less laggy version of Minecraft and instance into 2+ battles in different worlds/servers. Survivors of each then duke it out for total victory. Tbh.
