I would suggest something along the lines of allowing new people to join in after a certain amount of emotes are passed. IE. After every 20 (or more) emotes you get a reinforcement chance. Or maybe just 1 single reinforcement opportunity after a certain amount of emotes so the battles don't drag on eternally. OR decide to extend the lockdown by another so many minutes IF the bell of the settlement is rang. So keeping it outside of settlements and extending it on a bell ring.

It's kinda stupid that crp can last for hours. If I have an hour to spare and pop onto the server, the experience is significantly worse when that entire hour is spent arguing ooc'ly over crp details and being banned when I legitimately have to leave for combatlogging.

Brother just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I am someone who would threaten to rape anyone. Also, if you honestly think the mass is always right you haven't been paying attention in history class. Just because there's a bunch of people on this topic disagreeing with me doesn't make my point of view invalid. I can show you an entire discord server full of people who agreed with what I said. Your opinion is no more or less valid than mine is. It's rather interesting how folks like you always seem to want to shout down and demonize anyone with an opinion that doesn't align with yours.

If you actually think someone on a minecraft server is going to rape or murder you I do think that you need serious help. Again, I'm not saying it's okay to say that but kids talk mad trash online that's just a reality. If you're going to take everything that is said on the internet seriously you shouldn't be on it. If you genuinely feel traumatised by some random stranger online saying dumb shit like that with not even the sleightest chance of it being a serious threat to your safety, you need help.

If something an internet troll told you five years ago seriously traumatized you, you should not be on the internet. Kids these days have not been in enough CoD MW2 xbox lobbies and it shows. On a serious note, what he said is bad and all. But it's a long time ago and you decided to unban him. You should have either stood by that decision or not have unbanned him at all. Huge fault on the staff in this situation, regardles of which side of the fence you are on. It goes to show once more how the LOTC staff are set up entirely wrong. Justice should not know personal preferences and it clearly does on this server. It may be time to review the way we have this server moderated.
