Ngl, the counterreport has far more merit than making a report over the age of a character without first checking up on the player. Especially since that report was absolutely motivated by the RP implications of that child existing being inconvenient to the reporting side lol

The ability to have engaging nation conflict again? I understand you may not feel too great about this as your own nation was on the receiving end (in no small part due to RP misplays), but end of the day, the rule change created a TON of RP.

Shitty people doing shitty things has nothing to do with any type of warrules.

blaming that on the rules is dumb. Conflict on the server is essential, and the current warrules in no way promote this type of behavior.  Prior to these warrules, we also had people being incredibly shitty to one another. The rise and fall of nations is a staple of LOTC, and really, people shouldn't be so upset about it.

Metarallying has always been a shitty part of conflict on LOTC. Issue is that, now with CRP default, players can stall out till their friends rally up, even if the opponent has a force of 12 people. Staff being unable/unwilling to act when players 'coincidentially' show up isn't helping, either.

Well, this is kind of a big misconception that many people hold. We aren't here just to pvp. We are here to RP. We like RPing out conflicts, such as wars, assassinations, daring heists, game of thrones style stuff, etc. The best way to resolve these large scale conflicts is through PVP, as this takes less time and is less prone to devolving into big arguments than CRP, especially as both sides want to win.
We do play other servers if we want to just pvp, as you may have noticed when Ferrymen went to a variety of pvp servers (mvndi, stoneworks, steelpvp, etc). 

We also don't /just/ PVP. Many of our combattive characters have lives and whatnot beyond our interactions in conflict. I have an azdrazi that hunts monsters, a knight of Haense who does a lot of military things and protects the royal family, etc. 

The misconception truly lies in that many people think we RP to get pvp, which indeed wouldn't really make sense. Instead, we use pvp to further the RP narrative of the conflict. 

@Fireheartin the case of safety reports and harrassement, absolutely. But we've gotten to a point where players can ask for the same protection when reporting people for things as minor as metagaming, thus making it so that the reported player isnt told anything about their case and making it near impossible to refute claims.
