Two months to build while nations are still picking out where they are, all while there are several players who are in the middle of college. I am of course excited for this new map, as is everyone, but that is an insane deadline that is extremely unfair for builders. A good build takes about 3-5 months, and thats taking into consideration people have breaks from work and/or school. Two months leads to bad projects like Elvenesse's settlement rebuild (and I was the one responsible for doing the TERRAFORMING UNDER A WEEK AND GOT SICK). Elvenesse was a rushed project that only 1-3 builders from their actual build team actually worked on, and I was a late add in! That whole city is FUNCTIONALLY disorganized because it is a rushed and stressed project. If this was in June or July, it would be more understandable since it allows builders during college to spend their free time doing building. But May is the literal month people are DOING EXAMS. EXAMS And lets not forget that nation leaders also have to lead their nations through the world ending events. With the time-span that people are given, nothing is going to look good unless you steal some map or buildings from some poor artist on E-Bay or something.

𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐈 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐞 /ˌkler də ˈlo͞on/ noun a pale blue-gray or pale green color. ~} ❁ {~ The mid-autumn sun shone across the coastal region, painting everything in its path with gold. The ocean glittered with splendor amidst heaven's aurum rays, and below the cliffside, just barely out of reach, reflected the portrait of a remarkable duo. They sang many cheers upon that cliff, which bliss-filled harmony was soon laced with life's melancholy. "My next trial and I believe my last, is one of the most dangerous trials," Remarked the young lass with a mischievous smirk, her bone-stricken form just nearly cured of its malnourishment. "I have to face the water pressure of the deep and risk death! I'm kinda'v scared, but after today- I'm pretty excited for it." The boy, just nearly a man in his stage of development, frowned with deep concern and asked. "Why are your trials so dangerous? That worries me..." "Thalassa is the goddess of the ocean who is the taker of both man and woman. She is merciless and of fury, she has killed many...but I can't help but empathize with that." Beowulf hummed "The trials ensure we are determined and truly worthy of becoming Thalassa's priests- becoming her hands and eyes...A test of our faith towards her greatness! Hoho! One must face hellfire and brimstone to be worthy of it!" "Are you really sure you want to risk your life like this? This would make me very sad if you were to die..." Beowulf replied with a faint bob of her head as rhinstone eyes shone like stars in midst the amber light of the sun, sparkling orbs interlocked with the glittering sea. "Time is slipping under my feet faster than I can ask what's going on. You and Kera are already moving on without me...and on top of that, growing up. After discovering Thalassa and recent past events, I realised, I'm going to eventually end up alone in this world. You'll have your own friends, and so will Kera, you won't need someone like me to keep you both on your toes. You'll both have things to do and grow up without me." The boy, Echo, remained sat by his friend, speechless. "Thalassa doesn't change, and I believe- at least I'd like to think- that we can both understand each other... Even if you both leave, at least she'd still be there." "Beowulf.." Echo's voice would soften as his expression frowned with sorrow after listening to her. Looking down at his hands to find the proper words to say, he'd return his gaze to the battered girl and replied. "We won't leave you behind... I don't want to leave my friends behind, and Kera wouldn't want to either. Time is indeed not waiting for anyone, but that still isn't an excuse to risk it all. In fact, it contradicts what you stated! Leaving me and Kera will only sadden us!" ~{ Then why did you leave me alone? }~ The cerulean blue sky met with the woman's vibrant serpentine gaze. Head-filled entropy ebbed as quickly as the waves that washed against the woman's callused feet. Memories that sung symphonies of heartbreak now left behind a mind-numbing echo, to which the heart could not properly piece together. What tragic turn of events took place that left her body anchored to the sand-coated earth? Either way, she had to get up; but the mixed feelings of scorn and bereftment left her lying there on the shaded beach. What difference would it make anyway if she were swallowed whole now by the sea or if she got up and returned to her quarters? At the end of the day, no matter how much she had done through all her years of living, no matter the blood lost, no matter the countless nights spent awake working, everything all fell to ruin, loneliness and regret would come to haunt her again. How many years had she spent cooped up in her home under the plateau, lost in the past after replay through replay, so many countless memories which end's were all met with loss and misery? No matter how many times she'd try to reach out, somehow, she was always too late or lacked the necessary abilities to help. Perhaps this was her atonement in life for bearing bastard blood, but if that was the case, why did so many innocent people have to pay for it? Maybe this was life's form of a joke, and sure of it, they'd be laughing now. Still, the question presented itself, to get up or remain in solemn stagnance with the earth. To her dismay, the Storyteller rose with the tides and presumed the trek back home. The mid-autumn sun shone across the coastal region, painting everything in its path with solemn grey. The ocean was as dim as its muted greyed heavens, and below the cliffside, just barely out of reach, reflected the portrait of a single, lost soul. The world seemed dull beneath the plateau, which regrets kept hidden in dimly lit colors. To ease this mind-numbing sense of despair, the elf left a note and ran to the sea. The journey continues... Author's Note: By no means is this a PK, nor am I shelving the character or going on some mysterious hiatus. Since so much has already happened with the character both physically and mentally, I wanted to make a graduation post, or in this case, the final chapter to her book through her journey through life. The story for this storyteller of course still continues. This moment/period in her time though marks the end/death of who she once was, and the new beginning of a changed/different Beowulf/Izanami. In addition to this post, there will be a second/final rp post that also includes art, and during this time I will be working on said pieces. It was fun working on this (also tiring) but the best part was going back to the past and remembering all the great fun I had when I first started this character. I hope to have many more adventures with her. Credits ART: Me Writing: Me / Screenshots of rp that was not me Music: Claire De Lune - Debussy Migraines: Lord of the Craft Forum Site Size limitations

Emerald orbs flashed in serpent-akin curiosity as she'd inspect with great care, each written word that detailed the flier. Upon finishing, the oyashiman would find herself at a loss for words, completely baffled- not by the idea- but by who it came from. "Eh? Eh? Eh?" Struggling to translate thought into word, the mali let out a belated laugh and laid the missive to the side, mumbling "Sounds like a fun time." Albeit, tempted with the invitation, Izanami turned to the mirror and sighed at the greying patches of hair; "If only, Pon. If only"

[OOC] I'm not really part of this ICLY, but I just wanted to say that is some good ******* writing that I rarely see in forum posts these days; I never been so happy about a roleplay document before. Short, concise, and it states each point with great precision. I'm bookmarking this to soothe my soul at night.

Harassment, hate, and grooming is definitely- speaking from my own experiences as well as witnessing countless others (friends and family alike)- one of the biggest problems I find on LOTC; and the worst part is that the most ironic truth- the people who usually preach against grooming or BS behavior are also the biggest instigators/problematic people on the platform. Usually, these people I've seen are usually goons, and don't get me wrong, I love a good joke and two, I myself joke around a lot, but it comes to the point where exposure after exposure joking about some fucked up shit like saying 'Help me this guy is raping me' or 'I'm going to send this woman back to the dark ages;' a lot of them grow very desensitized and that usually is how it is. It comes to the point where I've even witnessed, grown men over eighteen and over, have made sexual jokes to a minor that have expressed that they've been uncomfortable and in return are told to 'take a joke.' A lot of people are used to staring at a screen with a bunch of moving pixels on it and forget that it's another living being, it's another person behind it, that the person you are speaking to is someone's very young kid or perhaps a very tired adult. I don't believe that a lot of the people stop to think and ask themselves if what they say on a computer is what they would say to the same person IRL. Would you say "Hit me up when you turn eighteen bby girl" to a 14-year-old you meet on the street. Would you joke in public as an adult with a minor "Send me those nudes" who quite clearly is still not at the proper age to THINK without the way of hormones interceding with their thought process. Because it is a real thing that everything that happens, regardless it's behind a screen, sticks with you for ******* life. It's a problem that should be taken more seriously especially with how many times it keeps happenign over and over again. I'd like to bring up that when people get banned, have a TOS ban or whatever should have it be listed under some sort of forum public record. In some ways, it might bring attraction for more harassment to those players who have been banned, but at the end of the day these people had prior broken the rules, and if it's a TOS ban, it could be far worse. In the system IRL in the US, if you look this up, criminal records of people- regardless if it was a minor felony- is public knowledge and can be easily traced by simply looking up the name of the person. Why do they have this? It's to ensure safety and a secure environment for both workers, family, and to help whoever has them under a contract keep an eye on them. The same could be said for nation owners and discords. I once had a problem before with a player that was allowed into LOTC who had a 5-year history on another server, a children's server, for major harassment that got to the point they had convinced 3 minors, ranging from the ages of 11-13 yrs old, to hurt themselves, kill themselves, attempted at some point; they'd threaten people around them with images of self harm, that they'd hurt themselves if they didn't get what they want. They'd even send other young minors around them that they favored the most to go after these other kids and harass them if they were slightly pissed at something they'd either say or do. It took them 13-ban appeals before finally getting permanently banned from that children's server, and then were permitted to enter here a few months after they had been banned for harassing another minor. I had brought it up with staff before it was shrugged up, before bringing it up again after they had began stalking me for them to be banned. It's mentally wearing, especially when you yourself are the victim, for it to be seemingly brushed off because of the evidence you submit was not good enough and not a nail on the coffin. The only thing that does is reinforce the mentality that no matter what you do, they'll always be on the server and that someone is backing them, and you have less and less people willing to come out. I hope that sometime in the future, some sort of system is implemented that can let the community be more aware of what goes on; because frankly, I would not recommend any of my friends out of the fear they might experience the same thing others have gone through.

While working on the preparations for the festival, Kamiyama Izanami felt a cold shiver run down the edges of her spine at the thought of mooncake season.

Moon Festival 中秋节 The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is one of the most celebrated eastern festivals amongst the citizens of Yong Ping. Little is known of how the celebration started, but, legend has it that several thousand centuries ago, the world was once tormented by seven demonic suns, plaguing the realm with ghastly eternal heat, and to face these terrible foe was one man alone, a skilled hunter. Rewarded by the kami for his heroic feat for shooting down the seven suns, he was given an elixir of eternal life; however, the elixir was only fit for one life and the hunter was already blessed, happy with his life on earth with his beautiful and loving wife. The two were troubled by the thought of ever being apart, and so, they had decided to instead keep the bottle of immortality safe from the greed and evil of man. One fateful night when the hunter was out, one of the hunter’s students had broken into the home intending to steal the potion. Caught in a crossfire between handing over the potion, the hunter’s wife drank the elixir and became the moon goddess, whisked away to the moon leaving the poor hunter alone. The hunter, every night, would search desperately for his wife’s figure on the seemingly lifeless orb, but each time they met for three days in mid-autumn, he would prepare for her mooncakes, taro, and a large assortment of delicacies that she once enjoyed and food that she could take there on the moon. This coming celebration, the citizens of Almaris are cordially invited to celebrate with the families of Yong Ping the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival. It is encouraged that families bring along their children for the activities, as well as the many different foods that will be on display. Itinerary OOC: Friday 6:00 PM EST Mooncake Making Contest Ever wanted to learn how to make a tasty eastern pastry? How about ruining it and getting paid for it? Well now you can! Contestants participating in this activity will be given a brief summary of how a mooncake is made before being put to the test to make their own styles of mooncake. A number of three to four judges will pick the best mooncake out of the lot and give the grand prize of 30 yen AND an additional special item to the Mooncake Making Contest. Crab Cooking Contest Get ready to flaunt your culinary expertise with the fresh local catch known as hairy crab, caught during the cooler periods of the dragon year due to its abundance in meat and flavor. The three winners of this contest will be rewarded with a limited edition culinary Li-Ren knife with the prize winner receiving 30 mina. Mid-Autumn Festival Firework Show OOC: Saturday 6:00 PM EST The Lion Dance Coming together to celebrate in unity, the acrobats in Yong Ping will perform a dragon dance for the citizens of Almaris to enjoy; only able to be seen inside the walls of the Jade State. Lantern Floating Ceremony After sunset, a small and short ceremony will be done in honor of Chang’e, the moon goddess. Citizens can participate and even make their own lantern for this special event. OOC: Sunday 7:00 PM EST Dragon Boat Racing Racing across the waters of Yong Ping, participants get the chance to compete in a battle against time, skill, and endurance. At the very end of the Mid-Autumn festival, large constructs will be set on the water which players must avoid while getting to the end; blindfolded. The prize will be disclosed day-of the race. Your View - Clipping the Wings of Birds
GammaRose replied to ScreamingDingo's topic in Announcements
Rather than just making a post on this stuff where comments are all over the place, make a side by side list of all the plug-ins INCLUDING the bird messaging mechancic that we already have, and have it in a pros and cons list-style. THen you can have people in the community add to it, because if we're being frank, it's difficult to do a very good comparison without a chart or a graph of some sort. -

The Oyashiman, sitting comfortably at home, stared at the bounty flier in poker-faced dumbfounded, having just spoken to the woman only a few saints hours ago. Izanami pondered long and hard on whether or not she should say something, but, kept quiet for the time being out of respect for the missing woman. -

Kamiyama Izanami had awoken in her usual routine, sun glaring through the cracks of her apartment, but there was not a single scent or the slightest of sounds that was there to motivate her from getting up from her bed. From the first few days when she had settled into Yong Ping, every morning and every evening the elf could always remember the warm and welcoming aroma of Xiong Mei's cooking, and yet not a single moment in time did she ever have the courage to speak to her. However today was the day that she'd break from her tiresome pattern; today was the day that Izanami would speak to Xiong Mei and learn from her culinary skills. Jumping from the balcony of her house down to the level of her neighbor, peaking through the cracks in the door frame something had seemed amiss, not a single sound, not a single Xiong Mei in sight. Perhaps in the square if she looked hard enough . . . was what the woman had thought, and that she did, at least, news of what had happened to Xiong Mei. "Oh." Were the only words to escape Izanami's lips as all sound or motion of thought had been drowned out by the floodgates of a stifling void. There was nothing that she could say nor anything that she could think of, left without the slightest idea of what to feel or even do. A wave of stoicism had silenced all emotions still as the shock struggled to settle in. Those sweet yet simple memories of waking up and going to sleep every day and night by the sound and scent of Xiong Mei's cooking had now become a precious relic of the past. Yong Ping had lost yet another bright and beautiful light.

Airborne Disease and Spore Safety Procedures
GammaRose replied to Moo_bot's topic in Jade State of Yong Ping
Skimming over the newly released procedures, the battered youth carelessly tossed the papers to the side of her desk as she collapsed into her fluffy wool bed. Exhaling a heavy sigh and stealing a glance from her bandaged arm and leg, she'd huff out "Starting today. . . I'm going on a five-year retirement." Slumping her body over on the bed, Izanami would begin to reminisce of the hard and trialing days of when she was younger, none whatsoever comparing to this terrifying period in her life. "Perhaps I'll pay Lady Idril and the little one a visit. . . have tea and relax for a quick moment." -
A raven coated in a fast array of feathers dropped from the heaven's to deliver a copy of the missive to the young girl who sat quietly by her friend's bedside at a clinic. Serpentine orbs skimmed through the message, each word and letter sparking inhuman excitement from within. Cracking a smile, she'd laugh "HAAH CHIKUSHOU!" Snickering and grinning wildly from ear to ear, Beowulf would gently fold and pocket the reading away to be saved for some later piece of historical evidence. "Oh I wonder what those bastards are saying about thi-" The raven stuffed it's head in the woman's mouth as a way to mute her and not disturb the sleeping patient.
-
An abated sigh would escape the youth's frowned lips as troubled emerald hues would skim through the message. "Finally, someone brave enough to call out one of the problems here. A truly brave and honorable post, and yet, the current predicament lies with the fault of it's inhabitants, feigning ignorance and adapting to slothful behavior." Rubbing the bridge of her nose with a pair of callused fingers, Beowulf quietly grumbled. "Anyone who thinks otherwise from reading this post deserves to be kicked out for contributing to the problem at hand. . but hey, what am I kidding? That's like the majority of the populous here from what I've seen." Just before the girl would depart, she'd steal one last glance at the missive with growing vexation. "I hope that life gives you the reward you deserve; it's terribly hard to find such self-aware people here."

[!] The following contents were written in a smooth and elegant handwriting, ink drawn from golden sea-gleam paint some sort of sharp pen. [!] Dear 伊邪那美, Under kindled flames of vermilion red, I watched in awe, a pair of broken souls reunited as one. For eons to come, follow stories of love and romance, fragmented souls drifting aimlessly in the wind, and by chance, finding their long forgotten halves, either fitting or bound to be forever broken. I find it amusing how the description of love can be so vague, that there are only so few words that are capable of describing such an astounding anomaly; and yet, also lack the capability of expressing such a strange event. For a while I’ve wondered to myself, what difference is there between the love shared between friends and the love shared between a couple. It is an undying trust, a want, a lust, to forever grow and continue on with that special person; through hardships and through death, to follow until the end of time. A friendship is bounded by a series of set rules, you may follow closely but do not drift too close. And yet love has a way of destroying bits of that boundary, throw yourself into the fire and be burned by the embers of passion for the person you wish to live eternity with. It makes me question many things. I have an answer to an old burning question, to which, has unfortunately given birth to several more questions that have yet to be answered. Lately, I’ve been thinking about father. Many times has he run amok, chastity taken from many women with all their rings bounded to one man, him. For a man as broken as he, is he forever broken? Irreparable? The amount of times he has had children, is he as forever empty as a bottomless pit? And for those women, was he enough of a fragment to fix the broken piece of their puzzle? Or was father that fragment that broke the piece to solve their puzzle, leaving them in a shattered form to share the burden with him? Curious. I wonder, this bittersweet feeling in my chest, who does it belong to? I wonder, will I share this broken curse with many others like my father once did? I wonder, will I find a someone who will break me instead? 'Till Next Time, Beowulf 神闇

[!] The following contents were written in the most atrocious, yes still legible, handwriting in existence; made with calligraphy ink and some sort of sharp pen. [!] Dear イザナミ, Today I've once again danced my ballet with death under the sparkling sands of the southern desert. In the temple laid to waste many lost souls, scorned to a scorching and pathetic ending which was turned into a home for the animals who cannibalized one another. Traps were laid about the many corridors which were made to ensure total demise, and yet to our party's amazing luck, we made it through successfully. At the end of our fun adventure, we with death who mimicked the voices of the damned. I remember the exact words it had called out from the entrance to the moment we had reached it's tomb, it cried out for help, to eat, to be saved; it was only 'till only after the last trap that I had begun to realize that something was amiss. It reminded me of the tales Obachan had once told us, of a demon who would lure it's prey with the voices of a person's beloved, taking them into the darkness until they'd meet their grim demise. However, the only way to break free of this creature's hypnotic cries was to test it's knowledge, a simple question was sure to break the illusion of it's trickery. The party continued their way into the abyss but my feet remained planted in the light. I question whether what we saw was that exact demon or not, but it's voice still scorches like a wildfire in my head and I am terrified. Zaelyn and Farren both came out with the treasures they wanted, I was given a sort of trophy for my worthless efforts; nonetheless, it was an adventure worth taking. Was it? I find myself even lonelier than before. In a crowd of dozens, I am by my lonesome self. The memories shared amongst the party were all fragments shared amongst strangers; strangers who only knew each other and themselves. In the moment of our glory which we had escaped the temple, I never knew how bad, how much I longed to adventure with my friends, Kei and Echo, again. I am afraid for what will become of me if this loneliness possesses me. I plan to present this trophy to Ms. Idril as a gift for her child, I hope she likes it. elf [Recruiting] The Honour Guard of Elvenesse
GammaRose replied to Andustar's topic in Crown of Elvenesse
-=Roleplay=- Name: Aumia Race: Mali’Aheral Age: 71 Are you a citizen of Elvenesse: Yes Previous military experience (Not necessary): Oathblade, Aspirant of Avaeramos since 60 years of age (OOC: I’m guessing 60, it wasn’t too long ago?) -=OOC=- MCname: GammaRose Discord (Required): Gamma Rose#0258 -
[OOC] Discord: GammaRose#0258 Preferred time of interview: 5:30 pm (Hawaiian Aleutian Time Zone) Example RP: Dio offered a bright and welcoming smile to the customer that beamed with a comforting warmth. Her jeweled emerald hues seemed to glitter in the artificial light within the tavern. The woman's voice was soft, sweet, kind, and almost melodic, but it was always firm and clear, except when pronouncing -s like sounds. "Karin'ayla! Welcome, dear cushtomer to the Shilver Tavern!" The young woman's gaze would be fixed upon the new arrival as she bent down, her arms reaching below the counter to pull out a menu. "What would you like today?" Dio asked, elegantly rising back up as she smoothly slid the menu across the bar, waiting patiently for the customer's request. [ROLEPLAY] The letter was folded thoughtfully and written in considerably neat and elegant cursive. Name: “My name is Dio Casing.” Race, and are you a citizen of the Silver State?: “I am a valah and a citizen to the Silver State.” Preferred position: “I would like to be a bartender if that is alright.” Why should you get this position?: “I do not have much knowledge on mixing drinks but I am a great conversationalist, despite being mostly deaf. I do not require handwritten notes to understand people, nor do I need sign language; I can understand people perfectly by pairing the faint audio that I hear with what I read from their lips. I am also a very quick and optimistic learner, I appreciate any opportunity that gives me the chance to learn something new.”
