Washington was in turmoil since the shooting of the Union president. Police had scoured the streets, located the shooters sniping spot and went through every scrap of information they could find. Alas, it was all in vain as the assassin managed to slip through their nets and disappear into the vast crowds. Another anonymous face among thousands.

 

A few days later, as the search started to wind down and spread out farther into the country, a man with no exceptional features stood in front of the Washington monument, taking pictures. Suddenly, he claps his hand to his head and grimaced in pain, his nails digging into the back of his bald head.

 

With a jerk, he falls to his knees, oblivious to the screams of shock erupting around him. Blood leaks out of his nose and his sunglasses slip off, revealing two blood filled eyes. He slams onto the ground and twitches a few more time before falling still, the ambulances still miles away.

 

Far, far away in a tower in Los Angeles, a woman pushes back from her computer screen and picks up a paper file and a marker. With one strike, she strikes out a name from the list. One loose end shut down.

 

In Iberia, a few more units of black operators are slipped in with specific instructions to make the Caliphate soldiers life hell. While it is probable that with the a certain lack of resources in the Caliphate at this time they are already hungry, the DART squads aim to turn them into famished and ineffective men through attrition and aim on hitting isolated and weakly protected convoys before slipping back into the wilderness.

 

 

Meanwhile, research projects inside the NCR continue as planned.

The construction of solar roads proceeds smoothly, uninterrupted and the leaders of the project predict that in one year the totality of the country should have them, allowing it to produce quite enough energy to sustain a large majority of the country. (3 pages)

The insertion of control chips into the heads of soldiers begins in rotations, and while some succumb to faulty operations, the majority recover and losses are negligible. Of course, it will take some time for this process to reach completion, and already new recruits are implanted with them.

 

Meanwhile, a new project is opened and a tad more funding is pushed into it, reducing the armies numbers from 675 thousand to 650 in an attempt to stabilize expenses. The project leaders turn towards the old prototypes of jetpacks, created in the early 21st century, as well as newer models. However, they are clunky and unfit for military duty. They will spend as much time as necessary to turn them into compact machines capable of replacing parachutes for low altitude drops allowing troops to jump from choppers when they are at a safe altitude and land without killing themselves. In addition to this function, certain battalions are chosen to become Light Infantry, Mobile Battalions which will specialized in flanking and using jetpacks to move around very quickly. With the removal of Union States troops from their border, the NCR vigilance slackens slightly and shifts towards their northern frontier. However, Channing Tatum in Washington makes it clear to the US that relations will not improve in any significant way as long as the US occupies Canada. However, he assures them that while they will not declare war on the Eastern Bloc as of now, they have no interest in seeing asia take over part of the continent.

 

 

 

To China and Japan, the NCR sends a politely worded and formal notice, telling them that while they appreciate the aid these countries are lending to Canada, neither the CSA nor the NCR will condone a lasting invasion of the Northern American continent and would find it wise for the joint asian nations to avoid the problems that would follow such an invasion. While they insist that they do not seek any conflict, they remind the countries of the great differences between the two continents and the difficulty they would probably encounter in taking over and pacifying these lands. Are they truly willing to sacrifice so much, for little material gain apart from a land filled with people hostile to them, unfamiliar with their culture and language?

 

Should these two nations have any gripes with this, the NCR invites them to a joint diplomatic meeting with the CSA, and possibly Australia should their leader agree.

 

The NCR also contacts the NBC, professing its interest in improving relations with a state of similar mindset. They request permission to send an envoy to the nation so they may discuss this further.

 

Naval vigilance around NCR borders continues on high alert with the proximity of two foreign nation's fleets. They once again re-issue the warning that any ship within a 150 mile radius that does not identify correctly will be given one warning to turn back before being shot at.

Emperor Tang laughs at the NCR request, then offers a swift reply. "The Tang Dynasty wants no clay from either North America or South. This war is not for resources - you seem to forget that we border the vastly unexploited Eastern Russia. No, this war is for justice, and to show that actions have consequences. All of China wants peace and good relations with the NCR and the CSA, and recognise all North American soil as, well, North American. It is with this that I extend an offer of lower trade taxes between our nations. To decline would provoke no action, but rather just offend me personally.

Even Alexander did not expect the resounding success of the Turkish Campaign. He had finally proven to himself the total strength of HIS military, and would soon take advantage of that fact. As the Greeks rejoice in their victory, Reclaimer resources begin to slowly retreat back across Greece toward the island of Corfu, the Tower.

Meanwhile, a fleet of large cargo ships and several planes arrive on the island of Svalbard. They begin to unload their cargo, building materials, and establish a large base of operations. Several assets are moved to the island and a massive, underground hangar is constructed with a retractable roof. The complex is similar to a single, giant nuclear missile silo (for imagery purposes).

A similar operation begins in the Maldives, now mostly sunken and largely abandoned by thousands of climate refugees, the islands are ideal for the covert operations that the Corporation desires to run. After several months of construction, the facilities on both islands will be largely completed thanks to advanced construction drones and other classified techniques (1 page).

CALIPHATE
The southern African states jointly decide to trade water with the Caliphate, as long as they uphold the treaty established with the TRAC during the Arab-Afrikan Crisis. However, once the Caliphate is actually at the table, they will see just how much water they have to spare. It isn’t much. The Africans offer what they can, and sincerely wish to help the Caliphate but they stress that they fear for their own reserves, and while trade could occur they would like to join on the Caliphate’s effort to create large-scale desalination in the region. They would contribute the economic and technological supported that previously the Caliphate had to mostly shoulder on their own.

ORDER OF ST. GEORGE

The propaganda techniques put in place by the Catholic Church are a resounding success, many Christians coming to terms with the inevitable, Islam was invading Europe. No secular movement seemed to be capable of stopping this wave of religious fervor, so a non-state problem would have to be met with a non-state solution. Nearly 25,000 men from Italy and 5,000 men from France form volunteer regiments to aid the Order. The Vatican itself, with one of the largest monetary funds in the world, offers huge sums of money in support of the Order and continue their efforts to inspire Catholics in a sort of New Crusade.

However, their largest support comes out of the CSA where a huge Evangelical movement, totally separate from the Catholic efforts, inspires thousands of devout followers to form religious brigades to fight in Europe. Almost 60,000 CSA citizens find their way to Iberia.

The plan to inspire revolt is relatively unsuccessful as the NCR is a highly secure police state. Many of the spies/insurgent movements are crushed in early stages.

The Japanese lay claim to the very islands that they once oppressed. The British give in to the demands of the Germans! They ignore the plea of their French brothers and call us liars!? The Chinese say that we are 'pretending' to be the global force we used to be, but that is a lie. Troops amass in Washington ready to repel a possible homefront invasion of the United States. Since the war with Canada is over, Union troops start to settle into the nation and mobilize along the East. The American Atlantic fleet meets the British in the Atlantic and war ensues. A common battle-cry is heard, "When the redcoats attack, we attack back! Remember the fallen in the Pacific!"

 

Devastated by the humiliating loss in the Pacific that took America completely off guard, the morale to fight on the Atlantic is high. Fortunately, Project RHINO finishes mass-development and deployment ((Mod Approved and been over 10 pages)):

 

RHINO Armor is a technologically forward, shielding, flexible, and a cost-effective way to make military gear. It is made for lightning wars, or Blitzkriegs, and special operations. It's HUD screen that appears on the helmet give users advanced communication abilities that allow orders to be followed precisely and the chance to give officers more control of situations and communication. It is prone to the MTW ray as the two were produced side by side:

 

 

The MTW (Microwave Transmission Weapon):

 

The MTW is a microwave emitting missile defense and offensive operating system. It sends focused microwave rays of high energy to take care of missiles at a distance and can be aimed at humans as well. The Union is careful not to use this against people since the ray is extremely painful and would most likely be considered a war-crime under that scenario. It is deployed onto ships and shields them from most missiles as well as targets certain ship components in an attempt to disable them.

In Canada, money is used to improve infrastructure and begin the naturalization process of Canadian citizens into Americans. The United States also secretly sets up work teams throughout the North to search for oil and natural gas, which is rumored to be abundant in the area ((Mod Needed)).

 

The plans for the MTW system is discreetly sent to the CSA. It arrives with a post-it note that simply says "Thank You" and a box of chocolates. In the file it asks the CSA not to share the technology with any other nation.

Confederate States of America

 

The tensions with Brazil spiraled out of control with escalating skirmishes. Confused reports came back about a medium sized navy battle, CSA sailors claiming they were fired on. They had the bullet marks to show on the hull, but it was all muddled. It was enough to fabricate a basis of war however, what with already high tension. The CSA navy had been mustering and the order to move came. For long they had been blockading Brazilian trade, keeping their navy divided and pent up in different ports. Now acting on that division, detachments of frigates, destroyers, and corvettes each escorting a heavy rail-gun frigate went to different Brazilian military ports. Not allowing the Brazilian navy to re-form into greater numbers, the rail-gun frigates would blast away the ships in their harbor from a distance. Advanced anti-air systems kept the planes off, as advanced drones darted in to kill ships and anti-air points that couldn't possibly match the drones height. The rest of the detachment would keep hostile ships from getting too close and interrupting their mission. Following this divide and conqueror naval strategy, a large detachment held back. They would be used if needed, but other then that guard the troop and supply transports filtering in. The navy still growing in CSA ship yards begin to be retrofitted with the U.S MTW's. As promised they kept the technology to themselves, only helping out their own navy.

 

To the north, on the Brazilian border with Venezuela, the long mustering troops were ordered to attack. Drones and heavy artillery softened the long entrenched Brazilian lines, as CPNA forces moved under the covering fire. Heavy tanks fitted with rail-guns and followed by large armored detachments would support the main infantry advance. The first wave of nearly one hundred thousand troops would crash into the Brazilian line and engage them. Bogging them down with artillery and infantry, the promised tank detachments and CPNA reinforcements moved up. They struck with surgical precision at the weakening points in Brazilian defense, snapping the line. The tattered remnants fled into the jungles, or further into Brazil. In effect the border was in CSA hands, and the order to push in is given. Able to move quickly with CAMEL drones carrying their supplies, troops probed further into Brazil. Jungle fighters from Panama, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and all the middle American states were sent to hunt out military units embedded in the jungles.

 

Most of the CPNA had been fighting in South American climates and ecosystems for years, all familiar with jungle warfare. This proved as their advance went smoother then planned. For now the northern Brazilian cities would be held by large CPNA garrisons. Half a hundred thousand men were probing south and east to the coast, as the other three and a half hundred thousand pacify the north and prepare for another battle. The CPNA was content to secure the north, and wait for the Brazilians to lick their wounds and bring the battle to them. Supplies flow in from the highways leading to Venezuela, and the thin strip of CSA held Brazilian coast to the north east. The air force launches operations from bases in Venezuela, and carriers in the ocean. Their target is to support the CPNA troops probing south and east, while covering the newly made lines.

 

Religion seemed to be on the rise in the CSA, though the national government ignored it for now. Freedom of worship was given in all states and territories, and one gaining more followers then the other should not be warranted just yet. However CSA citizens going off to fight in Iberia was a whole different matter. Those citizens went on their own choice, but were still at risk of dying in Islamic Caliphate hands. They could only wring their hands and watch the citizens go, supplying them with what non-violent things they could use. Secretly however, the CSA enters the operations being run by the NCR, offering specialist forces to be seconded under the NCR for whatever purpose in Iberia. Their goal was to help cut off Islamic and terrorist expansion, especially if it meant the death of their citizens off to fight being avoided.

 

The CPNA was to be overhauled, as army tactics were becoming more increasingly surgical in manner. The CPNA was not the largest, but they were well equipped, and veterans of many wars in the Americas. Their officers and generals were fine men, clever rather then overt. The Ranger corps is to be comprised of mobile infantry veterans, outfitted in lightweight and flexible armor. They would handle covert operations, complex and fast maneuvering, and other essential strategic laden objectives. Their vehicles were lightly armored but fast moving APCs. The regular CPNA infantrymen would be outfitted with the same light armor, and be well supplied with their attendant CAMEL drones. They would do the bulk of the fighting, working in well drilled squads, platoons, companies, and higher up. They were the best led, the cream of the officers and veterans being given to them. The Confederate Steel Regiment would be top of the class veterans from the infantry. Outfitted in heavier armor, and given more specific and harder weaponry. They were shock troops, capable of killing infantry and vehicle alike. Depending on their armaments they'd specialize in one or the other, and always be in the front providing tactical support. The para corps would be troops dedicated to the air. On parachutes and other types of transport planes and helicopters, they would land into the thick of the fighting. Specializing in hitting hard and fast in strategic points, they'd be crucial to tipping the balance in CSA favor. The Jungle Fighters Battalion would be a mix of Americans, all veterans or natives of the jungle. In normal armor to avoid encumbrance, they were a rough and hardy troops dedicated to jungle warfare. They would do the dirty work, and excelled at sneaking troops and themselves through the jungle to where the enemy least expected it.

The usually boisterous regulars of a small, traditional pub in Strasbourg stare at the tiny telivision fixed to a wall in silence. Displayed on it is a well known ZDF reporter, a worried crease in his brow and a large map behind him, covered in danger zones.

 

"Today, an international nuclear regulation group has released the fruit of their studies, the areas affected by the barbaric russian act during the war."

 

 

 

"Karl Freich was able to interview the leading scientist of this project."

 

The screen switches to a young looking report and a bushy-eyebrowed old man. "Yes, from what we have concluded, the radioactive fallout from the russian war-crime will be significant. The currents in the baltic sea have created danger zones in many bays and gulfs, while even now the waste leaks into the greater rivers in Germany and Poland..."

 

The interview goes on for a while, and a few old men mutter curses in the bar, wishing that Germany had finished off the damn reds a hundred years before.

 

The effects are no less than devastating in some regions. Cities like Riga, which were in a gulf and built next to a river were hit hard by the radioactive contamination and now find themselves in highly contaminated zones. Should the citizens remain there the currently small number of people suffering from radiation sickness will soon exponentially increase as more and more water is infected. 

 

Copenhague, on an island, is also heavily hit by the fallout as the whole island is bathed in it and suffers many of the same consequences that Riga does. As the analysis from the International group spreads through the news, many people in both cities begin to evacuate and should they not be policed it could very easily devolve into mass migrations and panic.

 

All areas suffering from high-level contamination suffer from crop contamination and land that will be unfarmable for decades, if not centuries in some regions. Places like the lake country in Finland allowed for extremely quick propagation and that region is tagged as highly dangerous. Helsinki itself is in the low-contamination zone, and while the citizens should for the most part be safe, the radiation will certainly increase the amount of cancer-cases and safety precautions necessary in the region. 

 

Much like Helsinki, Berlin is in the low contamination zone, as the Spree flows near to the city and poses a direct threat to the citizens health. Should measures not be taken chances are some people will succumb to radiation sickness. 

 

Cleaning out the high-contamination zones will take decades and cost an astronomical amount of money, unless new methods are developped. Until then however, these places have become dangerous for human life and The crop lands bordering the Odnu and the Wistra are severly affected. Other crop land in low contamination zones will also suffer, to a lesser extent.

 

In low-level contamination zones, people can still live on, and crops can still grow, however health risks rise and in certain places, health associations claim that the crops have grown too infected to be produced safely.

 

In the affected regions, unrest rises, however most of it is in the shape of anti-russian sentiments as huge amounts of people will probably have to be displaced and many people succumb to disease caused by their actions.

 

 

Union States Microwave Transmission Weapons seems to encounter certain unpredicted flaws when used on the field and struggle from continued breakdowns and mechanical problems. It will take at least one year to polish them and turn them into viable weapons on the field of battle. ((4 pages is very short for laser weaponry. Only adding three because the US has put research into this before and thus it wouldn't take as long as say, the Caliphate.))

The Republic of India

As the troops secured the city of Islamabad, a sigh of relief came from President Tandon, he had been verbal trashed by all those who opposed him that he started a needless war, and it couldn't be won. But Tandon and his generals had finally conquered Pakistan it was at the ultimate price however. 300,000 thousand Indian troops dead, hundreds of thousands of civilians killed and billions of dollars worth of damages racked up.

However there was something to smile about and that was how the Tandon-1 Walker Drone preformed in combat, it saw heavy action in the heaviest combat zones and sometimes they even broke deadlocks on the frontline. Out of the fifty deployed only 15 were lost and that was in the siege of Islamabad which claimed over 100,000 lives on both sides of war.

The Indian people wanted peace, and Tandon would grant them peace. With the annexation of Pakistan into the Republic, India saw its first full peace time in over 4 years. Immediately, Australia is sent a request for a trade pact mostly asking for food and the western side of Pakistan starts a reformation into majority of farmland. (2-3 pages)

The Ghandi is on steady pace for completion. (Page 55)

New reformation goes under for both the Naval Drone and Tandon-1 drone to add the new AI and try to add the new laser cannon provided by the Caliphate. (5-6 pages)

Marcos special forces, that have been training in Antartica for the last couple years being to take the Russian land claimed by them in Antartica.

All Airforce help in Russia is retracted and pulled back to India. Japan and China are sent its deepest regards as India must recover from the wars it has recently ended.

"Lift off confirmed, I repeat, we have liftoff."

 

The NCR part of the operations room remains subdued as the joint spaceship lifts off from its pad in Florida. Many are excited, but they have learned the strenght of silence and discipline in their own land. The rocket lifts off with three teams, 2 men and 2 women from each nation. Australia, the Confederate States of America and the New Californian Republic.

 

The NCR team consists of one of their best army pilots turned astronaut, an astrophysist, a biologist with a degree in basic surgery and a Schwarz Polizei member with a degree in physics. Each and every one has been rigorously tested to see if they are capable of withstanding an extended period in close quarters, together. The Schwarz Polizei member, like all others, has a control chip implanted into his head. However, unbeknownst to even himself, he has a special directive implanted within his brain. A termination override that will force him to eliminate, or try to eliminate all non-chipped personel. A last resort, in case of betrayal one might say. 

 

The Australian team has one member of their SAS, along with a veteran army pilot. Both are trained for combat, while they are joined by a communications expert and an engineer.

 

Together, all three teams embark upon a journey into the unknown, towards Mars. It is predicted that it will take them six months, and in a gesture of good will, the NCR has supplied them all with top of the line equipment involving HATE armor with active cloaking, a small surgical unit with replacement bionic limbs. The pilot already posses one bionic leg due to a malfunction while test-flying an NCR fighter. The NCR also supplies its own members with some of the earliest prototypes straight from the Ares project. Just in case.

 

They arrive at their travel ship high in earths orbit and turn towards the long trip. Six months together until they land on Mars, far from the predicted landing spot of the Japanese expedition. With them, they bring small-scale solar vehicles and building materials to construct a basic base. Within the vessel is a small greenhouse to supply them with a minimum of fresh food while they have at least a years worth of drypacked rations.

 

 

They also bring scanning equipment augmented by top of the line australian VI's and other necessaries for survival on the red planet. Once they land they will set up a small base with a recyclable oxygen system and a small biodome to produce necessary sustenance. The VI's will try to keep the ship on course and make the landing as smooth as possible when they arrive on Mars. Once its task is done, it will turn towards helping the base in what way it can. 

 

A second rocket is already well into production to send in a second, smaller and specialized team of necessary personel as well as as much materials and equipment that the three nations can pack in.

 

The twelve pioneers on the Seraphim are well aware that the chances of them seeing their families once again are extremely slim. The NCR personal was chosen for their lack of family connections and fanaticism to the country, to reduce the burden of such thoughts on their mind. 

 

The base will be named Horizon.

THE IMPERIUM BRITANIA

"...Today, we received some rather unflattering comments from the newly inaugurated American President, which I and the Empress would like to rebuke."

 

The Prime Minister of Britania speaks to the BBC media, clearing his throat.

 

"Firstly, I think it should be said that the British government has no qualms with the American people; they were our allies until recently, and had been since World War I. We worked together for many, many years to institute the foundations of the military technologies we both use today. However, General Patterson, a ruthless dictator, corrupted the American people into living under a military government after the demise of President Collier.

 

For reasons unexplained, he pulled valuable troops from France to invade a Commonwealth Realm, Canada, a country whose technical Head of State was King William the Wise, and now his daughter, Empress Laura. The same monarch who was so revered in the Australian Federation and in much of the rest of the English-Speaking world. And now his daughter is as well, with her father's recent assassination.

 

He destroyed a one-hundred and fifty year old alliance, which has served both of us well in the long run. We have similar ideals, and similar goals... Together, we as stronger than we are apart.

Perhaps the new American President should consider why we lost the war in France; was it because they pulled out? No. We, the French, and the Normans could have handled ourselves without them.

 

It was because they pulled out to ATTACK Canada so blatantly, after their false reassurances!

Patterson has forced the Canadian Parliament to merge with the American Congress against their will; as beautiful as the American Constitution is, the Canadians don't want to live by it; don't be fooled by the American media, fellows. Canada wants to be free.

 

The Americans call the Canadians their brothers; well, if we're going into family relations, then we are their FATHER! And as the Fatherland, it is our job to settle disputes between our 'children'. Trust me, if Canada invaded America, we would act in the exact same manner, although not exactly the same as Canada is a Commonwealth Realm and America is not."

 

Prime Minister Lancaster pauses to catch his breath.

 

"Why can Britain and America not simply make Canada a dual protectorate of the United States and the Imperium, allowing them to maintain their independence but be protected at the same time...? Patterson had offered this, and I'm sure that both sides would have agreed to such, but NNNOOOO! He could not wait. He had to take action.

 

Perhaps this new President will be a more... democratic, and reasonable fellow. But he will have to talk to Empress Laura and her honorary vassal, King Dohray of Australia, as well as the monarchs of Japan and China themselves if this situation is to be resolved, and he must be willing to give the Canadians what they so desperately want.

 

The last thing I want is a war with our child, America. But quarrels between brothers must be resolved, and who else will do this but their fellow family members, Britain and Australia?

Until Canada is released from the oppression and the lie that is the 'Grand Parliament', they shall face war with the forces of the Australian Federation, Japan, China, and the Imperium Britain, upon which the sun never sets."

The Prime Minister clasps a hand over his heart, but before the interview ends, the female reporter asks, "And what about the Caliphate?"

 

The Prime Minister pauses for a second, then clears his throat.

"We will support the local Iberian divisions of the Royal Army, formerly the Iberian Army, as much as we can, although admittedly, a lack of resources has taken it's toll on the Order of Saint George and the soldiers over there. But Iberia is a Kingdom under the Imperium, and if any deal is to be made with the Caliphate, it will involve the return of King Alfonso's family to their rightful lands.

 

We have nothing against Islam as a religion; in fact, our police did their best to protect our Islamic citizens during the recent time of unrest. If the Caliphate were to stop their brutality, their genocide, and their expansionist behavior, we would gladly change our policy towards them. But only when this happens; perhaps the Caliph should seek a meeting with the Empress and myself if he has any such wishes for his Caliphate.

The Royal Navy moves out to engage the American Atlantic Fleet.

A large fleet made up of British, former French, and Iberian ships would set out from Plymouth and make its way towards the Azores, taking detours so as to avoid American and, possibly Caliphate submarines. Destroyers would be alert at all times, depth charges at the ready. However, a fair number of ships would be left behind in the British Isles so as to patrol the shores of Britain.

 

Upon reaching the Azores, the heavily defended islands are even further reinforced by a number of Royal Marines. Grounded RAF planes that had recently been fighting in Iberia prepare to take off and engage the American Fleet, armed with torpedoes so as to avoid encountering their new anti-missile defense system. Airplanes on board British aircraft carriers are prepared in the same manner.

 

The fleet would then set out from the Azores to attempt to prod the main bulk of the American fleet. The Admiralty fears that a head-on attack might be catastrophic for both fleets, and he wishes to preserve British naval power as much as possible, so groups of ships and naval-based aircraft commence small-scale attacks against the American fleet, trying to feign retreat and draw them closer and closer to the Azores, where they can unleash the full power of the by now highly experienced RAF.

When used, naval LION batteries would prove devastating, although not all British ships are equipped with this technology. Some fighters would also be equipped with LIONs, using these energy weapons to their full advantage to circumvent the missile defenses employed by the Americans, as well as also using their torpedoes.

 

If the American Atlantic Fleet were tied up or damaged enough, the British might be tempted to launch their invasion force to land on Newfoundland Island; however, this is a very shaky and top-secret idea. The British will only risk such a move if they think they can gain absolute naval superiority and open supply lines to their army, which is unlikely at this current point in time.

In the event that this DOES happen, Britain would fly unmarked planes over Newfoundland, dropping propaganda pamphlets in both French and English, encouraging the Canadian inhabitants of the island to rise up against their American oppressors and assist the Royal Army in freeing Canada once more. ((Mod req, but only if applicable. This entire section about the invasion is to be voided if the results of the American-British naval engagement go poorly or end in a draw. I'm just lazy and don't want to have to make a quick response post. ;.;))

Imperium troops in Iberia are put under the command of the Order of Saint George, for the time being, as their leadership seems to have had some success in fighting the Caliphate. However, Britain states that Saint George will have to make their own connections to acquire war materials and resources from now on. However, Britain will help to fund the transportation of these resources, and will continue to back the Order as it has from the beginning.

British shipping is, indeed, harmed by the Caliphate, further outraging citizens of Great Britain. Ships begin to take strange detours and travel in zig-zag patters, in an attempt to avoid the submarines and their torpedoes.

Oil is rationed in the Crownlands (The United Kingdom), their green power grid completed several years ago helping to soften the blow. Oil received from Antarctica is used first and foremostly to use to shore up military operations in the Atlantic, civilian usage coming second on the list. The economic blacklist policy with the NBC is finally tossed, and British officials request an oil deal with them.

Britain sends out a special request to the S.P.E.A.R expedition approaching Mars, and their governments. (NCR, CSA, and Australia):

They inform them of the iffy situation on Europa, and request assistance in resupplying the British expedition on that moon. The British Mothership in orbit of Europa would be willing to meet a S.P.E.A.R ship near the Asteroid Belt to receive some rations and oxygen, enough to relieve the British expedition until the second Mothership can be completed and be sent to the Jovian Moons.

 

If they could do this, their relations with the British would skyrocket, and they would be hailed as heroes in the media. The British government also offers 5 Billion American dollars to split between the three governments if they will do this favor for them.

The Islamic Caliphate

 

 

Puebla de Lillo, 30 miles Northeast of Leon

 

"Allahu Akbar!"

The black flag of the Islamic state is raised over the town as cries of victory ring through the valley. It was an insignificant hamlet, but one step further on the army's journey north. This force represented one of the farthest reaching expeditions at this time, certainly the furthest into this particular valley. The Islamic commander sternly eyes his men: most are clad in the standard issue light armor, but there are a few visible whose faces are hidden behind heavier suits. All seems peaceful for the time being.

 

Then, shockingly, a bang: the sound of a shotgun, from the top of the nearest hill. All eyes turn to the source, where a lone figure stands...no, sits looking down, brandishing a 12-gauge and a megaphone.

"Where's Allah now, Ay-Rabs?!"

 

They sweep down upon the town like a tsunami, a legion of "heavy" infantry, all of them well armed, all of them riding hard on their obesity scooters. It is the Texas Christian Mobile Volunteer Unit, and although not one of them is under 300 pounds, they are a fearsome sight.

 

The Islamic forces are forced to retreat. The town would need to be taken some other day.

The second wave of invasion had been more than successful at moving the war effort forward. Though near stalemates had now occurred near Porto, and the defenders were slowly gaining ground around Zaragoza, they had lost far more in the center of the country. After the fall of Leon, Saeed chooses to once again begin a multidirectional advance. Having pushed far into the heart of the enemy, the main army uses half of its strength to push west toward the Atlantic, in an effort to surround and cut off Porto. The rest moves east, entering the province of Cantabria and advancing nearly to the coastline before changing course to move towards Zaragoza. Burgos is the latest major city to fall in this area with Logrono under threat.

 

However, these maneuvers cannot proceed at the same unstoppable speed as before, as supply problems are compounded by covert operations behind Islamic lines. In addition the surge of foreign volunteers to the Order of St. George, along with the increase in defensive efficiency brought about by transfer of total command to the Order, allows the Christians to mount a far more competent resistance. The Order has so far proven to be adept at training raw recruits quickly, and now is no different. Within weeks, these foreigners begin appearing on the front lines. When some are captured, Saeed's gut reaction is to execute them all, but his hand is stayed from above, and instead they are not imprisoned or executed but rather deported back to their home countries. The official statement by the Caliphate on the matter states that for the time being they will continue sending these people back home, but if their homelands are unable to stop their citizens from joining the fight they will soon be treated as normal combatants...meaning that the military will have the authority to decide their fate.

 

The Islamic State continues to make gains against the increased defense in part due to simple logistics: while the Caliphate deals with supply problems, the Christians must cope with them as well to a similar or greater degree. After a long period of fighting, supplies are scarce on the peninsula, and the defenders must make arrangements with foreign powers to receive them. Furthermore due to a lack of fuel, the Christians must fight a fully mechanized army whilst on foot. All this combined with continuing control of Iberian airspace gives the Muslims a distinct advantage in open battle, and while the crusaders are more than capable of outmaneuvering Saeed's blunt approach to warfare, they must attack in places where they have the advantage, which is a slower approach to weakening the enemy and often requires a focus on the mountains, allowing the population centers to fall.

 

In this way the front lines have become more nebulous: while the Muslims are successful in pushing long distances into enemy territory, they then must divert forces to fight in the "conquered" territory. Pockets of Christian control exist all over the newly taken land. This extends even further south as covert operations are able to raise rebellions in many parts of the countryside. Although the fighting is still concentrated in the north, most of Iberia has once again become somewhat of a war zone, much to the chagrin of the Emirate of Al-Andalus, which is busy solidifying the region under civilian government. The Special Tactics Unit, soon taking notice of the growing problem in the south, commits 5,000 operatives to hunting down dissidents and quelling uprisings. It is entirely possible that they would discover the secret foreign agents stirring up dissent, but for the time being they have no such suspicion.

The Caliph expresses a willingness to hear what the British Empress has to say, provided that the two meet at a neutral location. For the time being, however, his focus turns inward,  to the domestic crisis.

 

Two options had presented themselves upon initial discussion of desalination: current technology could be installed at great cost, or the process could be refined before the solution was set in place. The decision was a simple one to Ahmed. He had seen what current desalination technology could do, and it wasn't impressive. Confident that the current situation would only get worse over time, he firmly makes the decision to refine the process first, a project that will be lead by the Caliphate and will involve Iran and the nations of East Africa. Time is of the essence, for in the time estimated to make these changes to current technology, the amount of water flowing through Mesopotamia will be quickly decreasing. To lessen the effects of the drought temporarily, a strict ration is put into place. All nonessential gardens, including those in the palace, are left to die, and citizens are allowed no more water than they strictly need. East Africa shares what water it can, which helps to hold the crisis at bay, but it is still clear that the nation has a serious problem.

 

Qahhar cannons and TAI-TFX fighters continue to be produced in the greatest numbers the Caliphate can muster, and massive shipments of the laser weaponry begin to arrive from the factories of India.

The Australasian Federation

 

With the recent victories in the Pacific complete with all offensive capabilities of the Union States Navy in the Pacific being nullified, the King and Prime Minister of the Federation look to the Empress of Japan to divide up the conquered pacific American territories, they will meet to agree upon the territorial division between the two great powers. As agreed upon already Japan would gain Hawaii and the Federation agree's for the Republic of Palau, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and Guam to be ceded to Japan, but requests that it gains the territories of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshal Islands and American Samoa be absorbed into the Australasian Federation ((All Territories mentioned are under US protection and governance, although we haven't moved to take them yet as we attacked the US naval base on Oahu)) . A surge of Patriotic feeling is felt throughout the Federation, the Emu had taken down the Eagle some were saying on late night talk shows in Sydney, while some draw art of a Boxing Kangaroo punching the new President of the United States. The Government is however quick to point out it is not a war against the American people but a war on a regime of Hypocrisy.

 

The King of Australia gives a speech to the representatives of the Federation and a crowd "The Union States born from a revolution in 1776, a proud moment in democratic history, as former Prime Minister of the Entire Federation I was proud to be an elected leader and as the King of the Australians I still play a big role in the Federation. Self Determination is something I've always believed in, when I was your Prime Minister I brought New Zealand and Australia together in Political Union thus creating the Australasian Federation! After that move most of the Polynesian Island Nations in the Pacific joined us in our Federal Democratic Union in which we respect the values, cultures and traditions of each member state! Soon after that we negotiated with Her Imperial Majesty the Empress of Japan to gain the territory of New Guinea both Papua New Guinea and Western Guinea and we created the Specially Administrated Zone of New Guinea. All of these gains have been made without the use of our well trained, well supplied and well equipped Military, the State Forces of the Federation which were created to make each member state proud and defended by their own while being part of something bigger! What I am saying to you Australians, New Zealanders, proud Polynesians, Papuan and Austronesians is that we have come together through Democracy and Diplomacy. Look to the Union States who arguably brought about the kind of democracy we practice, look at them occupying Canada through force when they said no to a political Union. President Dalton says that we mercilessly conquered the Pacific, he says we are the Tyrants. The only time the Federations Forces have been brought to bare upon him were in reaction of his predecessors invasion of Canada, we destroyed his Pacific fleet with Japan in one fell swoop. President Dalton, if you hear me now, come to the table of peace, it is not too late to speak to the Federation and our allies about peace." With the conclusion of this speech the Federation Parliaments and House of Lords agree to invite the Union States to the Peace Table despite what the Militarist Factions in the Federation want. The Militarist Faction in the Federation leaks footage of EMU Mech Testing to YouTube, including armaments being used against targets, an APC being knocked over after the Mech has charged at it and how fast it moves in the open, how it can climb onto buildings using its legs and an off putting roar like noise it makes to expel the built up acids it gets in its system from its biomechanical legs. REX Test footage is also leaked, showing the sheer size of the Mech and weapons testing of the Rail Gun as well as its surprisingly quick movements during the stress testing. This is more of a tactic of fear in order to frighten many of the Union States Citizens to see the sheer scope of weaponry the Federation has at its disposal. Nothing can be stolen from the footage  as you cannot gain anything by merely looking at footage of these Mechs firing weapons or moving about as you do not have the results of the test nor the blueprints of the designs to know how it works.

 

The State Army of the Specially Administrated Region of New Guinea begins to move North East to the Federated States of Micronesia to secure them, after the crippling attack at Oahu Hawaii, it is extremely unlikely the Union States will be able to mount an effective response. The Polynesian State Forces are tasked with moving in and liberating American held Samoa, again they are likely poorly defended due to the crippling loss at Oahu for the Union States. With the biggest engagement of the War with the Union well behind them the leaders of the Federal Airforce of Australasia, Federal Navy of Australasia and the Field Marshal of all State Armies of each member state convene to plan the invasion of Western Canada. 

Trade of Minerals and ores to the Union States is still blocked off from the Pacific, this could result in shortages in Gold, Iron, Zinc, Silver, Diamonds and Uranium for the Union States as its biggest suppliers would have logically been the Chinese and Australians. However that is a double edged sword, meaning the Federation has a gap in its markets which it will attempt to fill by trading heavily with the NCR and CSA its natural trade allies. Agricultural trade is made with the Republic of India, it pleases the ruling classes of the Federation to have friendship with India, with India being its only other main rival in the Cricket world. The Australasian Federation offers a declaration of Friendship to the Republic of India. Food aid is offered to the Caliphate despite the tensions between citizens of the Federation and those of the Islamic Faith, however the food aid will only be given on the proviso that the brutality of those of different faiths cease immediately in its borders and its withdrawal of Iberia.

 

The Australasian Federation makes offers to the Nations of Samoa, Fijii,  Kiribati, Vanuatu, Nauru and the Solomon Islands to join the Australasian Federation, already incorporating five nations. It expresses how it believes in self determination and democracy and that no nation has ever been forced to join. With the rising tensions in  the political world the Australasian Federation reminds these nations that it can protect them without having to losing autonomy, local customs and culture and that it will receive representation in both houses of the Australasian Parliament. Research and development continue in the Federation, the EMU Mech Project finishes mass production bringing the total number of EMU Mechs to exceed 1,000 to supplement the IFV's and Main Battle Tanks. the first EMU Mechs join the New Guinea State Army to help its invasion of Union held Micronesian Islands numbering below 100 units.

 

 

The REX Project is going well, with the first Prototype starting its testing concerning its Rail Gun, the testing is successful and the Mech holds together. Pilot Stress testing begins and it isn't to straining for a Pilot to use the REX Prototype, for it being quite a large Mech it moves surprisingly fast. (( 3 Pages remaining for project completion ))

Now with the new suply of men both from italy, france and the CSA and the old Iberian regiment, and money the order has strengthen his grip in power. Many men are deploied in the Leonese line and they continue their attack and run attacks, but whenever a enemie squad is weak they strike like an hammer, stronger then before and now well equipped they fight with extreme zeal. The men are ordered to die before they let themselves get captured. In the Portugalian and Aragonese front men are still deployed but perhaps not as many. They do smaller pushes but do not appear weak, just more careful. With the money they got they buy new weapons, some more vehicules and general goods to keep an army.

The Union States of America

The search for oil in the Canadian Arctic goes rather poorly, the once abundant tar sands have been largely drained by the Canadian government. Instead, many top US energy officials advise the President to turn their attention to the Arctic where the NBC and British are already beginning to exploit the vast, proven oil resources.

Brazil - CSA

The CSA offensive is an incredible surprise to the Brazilians who could not possibly believe that Confederates would invade through the thickest parts of the Amazon on the continent. Thousands of guerilla units are deployed in the area, brutally harassing the Confederate units as they capture smaller metropolitan centers in the rather unimportant Brazilian frontier. Regardless of their Venezuelan experience, the Brazilian climate and geography becomes very varied. As they advance into the Amazon, tanks and other vehicles simply can’t move through the forest due to a lack of effective roads and torrential rains that cause what roads are in the area to flood or be muddied. Instead, the Confederates would have to leave many of their resources in Venezuela or be airlifted over very dangerous airspace with dozens of SAM sites spread out in the unexplored jungle.

 

Australian Federation

 

The Australian offer to the group of several island nations which are too many to list out of memory accept the offer out of fear of war with either the Japanese or the Federation.

The Europa Expedition - Imperium Britannia

The astronauts on the surface of Europa continue to survive day to day, for the first few weeks their plans appear successful and things begin to stabilize on the moon. Scientific operations begin, and the results are astounding. Silicon-based life fills the oceans of Europa, and scanners are beginning to pick up something.

 

Something strange. They appear as large as cities, but would require actual visuals to see what they were. It would be up to the scientists to explore these sites.
 

Caliphate - St. George

The Order’s attempts to raise an insurrection with the occupied Iberian territory are met with only relative success. Many Iberians in occupied territory are simply too fearful to rise up, well aware that their overlords would not hesitate to crush them and more importantly their families were their operations compromised. What insurgencies do occur are simply not enough to relieve the pressure on the frontlines.

THE EUROPA EXPEDITION

 

 

Colonel Philips frowned deeply as she and Dr. Zachary Melvin stared at a tablet, linked to the expedition's mainframe as they examined data in the expedition's central base. The readings were certainly odd...

 

 

Melvin, an Australian scientist who had accompanied the British expedition with a small team of his peers, remarked,

 

"How incredible this is... I wonder just what these readings are..."

 

"So do I, Melvin. So do I..." Colonel Philips replied, just as impressed as he was.

 

Philips relays these findings back to London, which shortly afterwards gives her the go-ahead to investigate these strange readings. However, the British government is unwilling to take any chances on this one.

 

Aliens? Silicon based lifeforms? Some had thought both to be impossible not too many years ago. The expedition team is ordered to bring along a military escort when they investigate these readings, on the off-chance that hostile alien lifeforms decide to attack the survey party.

 

And so they do. Four British soldiers, equipped with modified Iberian body armor and weapons, accompany a team of four scientists, two British and two Australian, as they pack into one of the expedition's submersibles and travel down to the depths of Europa to investigate these strange readings. The rest of the expedition monitors the situation from the Mothership and the central base set up on the surface of the moon.

The Japanese Empire

 

 

In Russia, the Japanese army that had pushed hundreds of miles inland through the gray backdrop of Russian Asia began to pull back. Their retreat was characterized by the utter destruction of previously taken bases, and many living in small towns that had been displaced are taken by the Japanese army to populate the Sakhalin Prefecture, where the process of integration begins in quaint towns built in preparation by the government. The countries that made up the Japanese Prosperity Sphere had, over the last decade, been almost completely integrated - their new generation spoke Japanese fluently at the least, and all businesses and streets had Japanese translations under their native names.

 

With their integration, the various new prefectures are given local governors. In Indonesia, one particular man named Asrul Kapur is quickly and efficiently elected and he begins to use his knowledge of the area to boost its production.

 

The family of one long dead Maurice Ward is paid 10 million dollars worth of yen for the Starlite secret, its half-century old miracle coating, which is immediately mass-produced and begins to coat the ships of the navy and airplanes. With it, a laser of up to 10,000 degrees Celsius could be effectively blocked, meaning that the Empire could try to force a conventional arms battle - something it excelled at. It is also put in paint to help fireproof houses across Japan, and other countries would probably quickly notice the "Starlite Infused" captions all over Japanese paint products.

 

The home front had prospered in the face of war, but on the battlefield, a different face was shown. The Japanese air force, superior to that fielded by almost any other country, shot across the Pacific theatre of the War on the Union. The F-3 Sakura flew fast enough that railguns couldn't pinpoint it from outside of their own range, could resist most lasers, was proofed against electromagnetic disturbance, and was equipped with the fastest missiles the budget allowed. The infantry and marine forces of the Imperial Military begin to be equipped with ballistic shields coated in Starlite, and the enemies of the Japanese would find themselves facing against what could be the most modernized ground force in the world. The navy, after being refitted, begins a full scale invasion of Hawaii.

 

South Korea is politely asked if it would like to join Japan's Empire as a semi-sovereign nation with the same rights as Malaysia - as long as it teaches Japanese in school and recognizes Japan as its liege, it could be almost completely self governing.

 

Internationally, the Empire's top General, Asakura, issues a press release.

 

"We do not seek to take North American soil. We seek to defend the sovereignty of a nation attacked by its dishonorable brother. We seek to remove the influence of a fast-crumbling American Empire from Asia. We seek to uphold the prestige of our Empire and its people.

 

What we are doing in Russia is different. We are saving who we can from their disgusting government and bringing them to the safety of the Japanese Empire. Their leaders sought to destroy, but we seek to build.

 

We seek to build a new society. My Empress sees in the world a crumbling ruin, and has taken it upon herself to give its people another chance. It is for this reason we launched an expedition to the Moon, and for this reason we launched another to Mars that will arrive in days. May our tradition bring salvation to those oppressed.
