The Islamic Caliphate

The surge caused by the return of so many Iberian troops from France has immediate effects, and at least at first, it seems as if the one outcome the British envisioned, the retaking of the peninsula, is in reach. Zaragoza falls immediately, and Saeed's weakened forces are forced to fall back, stalling the Iberians as much as they can. The city of Coibra in Portugal is taken, but Islamic forces are unable to push further as the force responsible then has to send troops east, to augment the defense of Spain. With these successes, observer's wouldn't have to be insane to say that the war had turned. But they would be wrong.

The appearance of a mass of poorly-supplied soldiers returning from a front that they had just utterly failed on was enough to cause a momentary change in the winds of war against an outnumbered enemy. But it was only the remainder of the first wave of attack, and that enemy was the Caliphate. Less than half of the nation's available troops were deployed, even without counting the semi-autonomous province of Turkey. The world had not yet seen the full power of the Caliphate on display. But now they would.

The arrival of reinforcements is a process that the Europeans will not realize is happening until it is already in full swing. It begins with a surge in air power as newly equipped Turkish fighters appear on the theater. For years the Turks had been perfecting their laser technology, and now it was ready to be unleashed. ((Researched since page 16. That's 18 pages, these things are good.)) Designed specifically for the air, the weaponry's range, power, and targeting systems are all superior to the British LIONs, and they are simultaneously supported from the ground by German-manufactured anti-air systems, developed jointly between the Germans and the Caliphate. They too are unparalleled through most of the world.

As the Air Force slices through resistance in the sky, the British navy vessels in the Bay of Biscay find themselves in mortal peril. The Caliphate had not yet had a use for their stealth submarines, which as the name implies are designed to evade even modern means of detection. With the focus still on the land war and with no knowledge that the Islamic State has even expanded their navy, the British ships stand very little chance of successfully reacting to the sudden attack which ten of these submarines launch. Torpedoes slam into the hull of the HMS Windsor's Fist and any ships guarding it, while the unseen submarine pack encircles the group and prepares to kill off any who try to flee.

Land reinforcements coincide both with total victory in the air theater, and the "recapture" of the ruins of Madrid by the advancing defenders. A total of another 600,000 men have been assigned to the theater, and they come prepared. A relatively large proportion of these forces are wearing the Caliphate's climate-controlled, performance-enhancing battle armor in both heavy and light varieties. In addition the force is supported by German-built, Polish-engineered stealth tanks which augment the usual armored support of the Islamic army.

Phase two begins with a reopening of the cluster-bombing campaign, on an unprecedented scale. Bombers fly unopposed over northern Spain, raining death on the defenseless Iberian army.

The losses to the Iberians are catastrophic in the face of such a tactic, one that annihilates any kind of resistance over a large area. Any coordinated movement can be smashed by a single bombing raid. Any encampment can be similarly destroyed with a near 100% casualty rate. The Iberian commanders find themselves trying to command a disorganized, panicking collection of sitting ducks with guns. The Order of Saint George, however, suffers few casualties relative to the wavering army, as due to their skill with hit-and-run tactics and their superior tactical ability they have more success evading the bombers.

Simultaneously, the land reinforcements arrive at the front lines, and Caliphate territorial losses immediately stop. There is far less dividing of these forces than in the original invasion-they surge forward up the center of the peninsula, smashing into the defenders before survivors of bombing raids in an area can regroup. The ruins of Madrid are captured a second time, but there is no slowdown in movement. The Master Cross of Leon is forced to retreat in the face of overwhelming force as the army bears down on Salamanca and Valladolid, both of which fall. The original invasion force once more divides its forces and assigns them to the remainder of the front, with half moving to attempt the recapture of Zaragoza while half pushes north from Coimbra, their next target being Porto.

Turkey

The Greek decision to invade Thrace was surprising to the Turkish government. Over the tiny state of Bulgaria, they had elected to commit to a full-scale war against a more powerful nation, which was in turn a province of a vastly more powerful nation. It was a course of action the Turks had not anticipated, which was why they were now on the defensive, having not had time to respond. Turkish troops withdraw from Romania in time to assist in the defense of Istanbul as Greek forces occupy Turkish Thrace and surround the city. Although continuing air superiority prevents bombardment, there are currently not enough soldiers withing the capital to mount a counteroffensive. For the time being, the Greeks have the initiative. In case of the worst, preparations are made to move the government across the Bosporus, and further defenses are erected on the other side.

China

 

War. Uh, yeah. What is it good for? Quite a lot actually. War had been declared on the US by Japan and Australia, and was soon followed up by a speech from Emperor Qui-Gon-Jinn Tang.

 

Some of the Chinese navy move North to cover the Bering Strait, and ensure that the US had no way of flanking the Japanese. Of the navy, the only Chinese aircraft carrier, 10 submarines and 17 frigates - all armed with anti-ship missiles - move along the Bering islands, checking for any activity off of the coast of Alaska and Washington. It was highly unlikely that the Union's Atlantic fleet could make it over there, but Tang wanted it to seem like his country was doing something worthwhile.

 

 

 

That wasn't the only declaration of war that was declared to the public. China's other close ally, India, were midway through destroying the radical scum that occupied Pakistan. In an effort to show how much the Tang Dynasty believed in a strong friendship with the Indians and the rest of the Eastern Bloc, 45,000 men, 300 tanks, 100 towed artillery and several hundred transport vehicles are put under the control of India's generals to help crush the crazed country that posed as much as a threat to China as it did to India. The people cheered as their Emperor bowed. Tang's China was a friendly-to-allies-****-to-enemies-kind-of-nice-to-everyone-else China.

 

The Chinese people no longer live in oppression, and are given the same freedoms as the people in Western nations - free internet and all that other stuff. 

 

Free trade is offered to all countries bar the ones China is at war with, and trade tariffs are lowered.

Military advisers begin to look at the threat that long range bombers could pose to key industrial centers around the country, and decide to up the anti-aircraft count as well as begin research on better emplacements in every major city. As such, research on the MX21 Dragon AA station begins. ((4pages))

 

Meanwhile, naval experts realize what they have missed out on with railgun technology. Experimentation with the subject begins, as a railgun that can fire at 2.5km/s is being designed. The CSA are contacted to see if any of their research on the matter can be shared, for a large sum of money. ((10pages +4))

 

Production on the Type 051 Missile Cruiser class begins. Naval experts

suggest that it could carry up to 128 vertical launch cells. A cruiser of this size could threaten to strike to the deep interior with cruise missiles or could control the airspace surrounding it in order to protect a task force. It will be kitted out with anti air missiles, land missiles and anti-ship missiles, as well as China's controversial anti-carrier missiles from the 2010s. ((4 pages))

Confederate States of America

 

Columbia has fallen to the CSA, after a long and drawn out war. The push from the coast and east crumpled the resistance, and the taking of the capital sealed it. Columbia is accepted into the union as a territory, the former leaders keeping marginally smaller power but still alive. The CPNA largely remains, helping keep the peace and root out any resistance. More and more regiments are sent to the border with Brazil however, as they gear up for the possible coming war. Nearly three hundred thousand men fortified that border, with another hundred thousand planned to be on their way. The CSA navy still holds Brazil's coast under blockade, as they slowly inch forward. The activation of the CSA's entire navy led to more numbers adding up to the blockade. Brazil was outraged, but wearily kept their navies docked.

 

The recent wave of aggression to the U.S baffled the CSA. They had invaded Canada and now stupidly brought foreigners to American shores. Canceling everything but trade agreements with the U.S, the CSA begins to keep a closer eye on their borders. Troops patrol it, but no large mutterings are sighted or planned. On the other hand in a last nod to their former friends, the CSA prohibits any nation at war with the U.S from moving military ships through the Panama canal. Trade could continue at it's ever increasing tax, but the CSA would not stand allowing foreign war ships to pass through just to ravage America.

 

The recruitment drive continued as ever, and the CPNA was almost at their one million man goal. Their economy was booming, solar roads and other green projects all finished, and oil pouring in from their increasing influence to the south. The people were content, and patriotic to not just their state but staying unified to stay alive. Each CPNA troops would be sent off in armor and well equipped for making war. The navies marines are given advanced forms of the armor, and trained endlessly to keep them on par with the navies standards. It was said the CSA navy was the best and largest in the world, and this was almost certainly true. With rail-guns, anti-air, and advanced drones to help them, they showed their human skill as well.

 

China's deal is denied, the CSA having promised the NCR not to give the technology away.

The Reclaimer Corporation, spurred onward by a great sense of ethnic pride, sends in a large contingent of tanks, planes, and soldiers equipped with state of the art exo-suits. The Reclaimers fight with a strategic dominance unseen on the field of battle up until now. They are masters at fighting alongside their PhalanX1 drones and use them to their most optimal efficiencies.

As the stalemate at Istanbul begins, the Reclaimers set out to break the siege of the City of the World’s Desire.

Unleashed for the first time is the Reclaimer’s crown jewel, a weapons system so powerful that when it was first used it made its pilots deaf. That system was the Hephaestus Cruiser. Flying just above cities, it’s armor is thick enough to repel modern anti-aircraft technology and missile defense systems are capable of knocking most of what comes at it out of the sky. Assisted by highly advanced air-to-air combat drones which are made to simulate the flight skills of an actual pilot, using VI to make the drone system one of the most capable aerial combat systems on the planet.



The look on most of the Islamic forces was one of shock. It appeared as though it were something out of a science-fiction novel that appeared out of the skies over Istanbul, materializing from it’s active camouflage. Then hell rained down upon the Muslims. Cannon bays and kinetic systems slammed into the enemy as dozens of drones filled the skies, establishing an aerial dominance over the city. Within a few hours, thousands of civilians and soldiers (several Greeks die as well) perish from the incredible bombardment.

Then the Reclaimer army moves in. They smash like a tidal wave against what is left of the enemy, supported by the main Greek army at their back. The soldiers take advantage of the shock value of the Hephaestus and ruthlessly press their offensive, pushing across the Bosporus and into Asia minor as word spreads through the Turkish military that the enemy possesses “weapons from the future.” The tide has seemed to have shifted in the Turkish front.

Russia

The Russian government lead by the aging Vladimir Putin is crumbling. The Putin Regime had brought great joys and stability to Russia, but now it only brought death. As the NBC pushed down from the North and the Westerns Slavs and Germans pushed hard in the West, the Russians could do nothing but watch as their lines were shattered and a retreat was made ever closer to Moscow.

That was when the first signs of revolution came from the city of Volgograd. A large Soviet made up of workers and soldiers who had deserted when they realized the government had abandoned then stormed local government stations and set up a Communist system in the area. Then similar revolts began in major Russian cities all along the Urals.

As the UEDI found itself within 15 miles of Moscow, the Russian government signaled for surrender. They proposed this treaty to the allies, as well as the Caliphate. There would be no more fighting from the Russians.

The Caliphate

The Nile River has been a cradle of civilization for thousands of years. It has watched our earliest ancestors construct monuments to the Gods that still tower up over the desert. It has flooded and devastated crops in the region, and it has also been a means of salvation. But now the Nile is drying up. It is known that the Nile flows north, toward the Egyptian coastline. In the South, where the Blue and White Nile separate from the Egyptian Nile, the Ethiopians and South African states have been damming up the river and drying it for decades.

When the Caliphate attempts to address their water supply issues, they realize that their water is being stopped before it ever crosses into their borders in Ethiopia and southern African dams. If they wish to get water from the Nile, negotiations with those nations will need to occur.

Meanwhile, the Tigris and Euphrates are projected to be totally dry in the next decade or so, potentially bringing near apocalyptic conditions to a region already devoid of much water. Temperatures in the ‘Fertile Crescent’ reach record highs, even during the winter months, and have people die en masse due to starvation and more prevalently, dehydration.

Iranian-Caliphate efforts at desalination progress steadily, but the process is costly and many top scientists quickly realize that there needs to be a more efficient way to harvest the sea water, or the system that would save their people would bankrupt them.

Europa, the British Expedition

The British spacecraft would touchdown on the icy moon as Jupiter rose over the horizon. The craft landed along the moon’s equator on the far side. British astronauts would be stunned at the pure beauty of a sunrise on Europa, which really wasn’t a sun but instead the massive Planet of Jupiter bringing itself over the horizon.

Immediately scientific research stations are set up for an extended camp on the planet. For several days, nothing of significance is turned out of the Icy planet and the entire thing seems to be an economic folly. Then something happened.

While a drone swam slowly beneath the thick ice sheets in the vast liquid sea beneath Europa, the camera picked up something. Life. A huge creature swam across the camera lense. Then they saw the face. It looked like a massive sea creature, at least the length of a blue whale. It gently tapped the drone as it eased through the blue void. And then more. More sea creatures, life.



Upon further research, there is a possibility that the moon holds oil and several other natural resources but time on the expedition is running out. The British must make a choice. The explorers need to leave the planet in the next week, or they will die. They have enough resources for an extended stay of up to 3 months, plenty of time to make their discoveries, but they won’t make it back to Earth. This leaves the British with two options.

Hold out for the possibility of find the precious resources, but let their scientists die. Or bring them home. This is a hotly contested debate back on the homefront.

The Union States of America

 

All NCR spies had failed - all but one. However, this spy had done what no one would have thought imaginable. After two days in the nation's most renowned hospital, General Patterson succumbed to a bullet wound. The NCR is suspected as the culprit but so is the UK and Japan, and no public accusations are made. Whoever the spy was had succeeded and that was all that mattered in the current moment.

 

His vice president, Rick Dalton, was quickly sworn into office for the remaining two years of the term he had to complete. He was a lot more open than Patterson, however he did not end the invasion of Canada. In fact, the death of his friend strengthened his resolve to quickly win the war.

 

The Union had no idea why China had elected to declare war on the Union, since they were not aware that Japan ever did, but regardless they went ahead to defend themselves. Thankfully, the Union's second major conscription ((started page 24)) was finally finished, and a total of 3,400,000 troops were now part of the Union military. However, most American economists considered this the cap and now only conscripted when needing to fill up open positions.

The war in Canada goes relatively smoothly, aside from the Guerillas. An anti-guerilla task force composed of Alaskans who are used to even more frigid conditions than the Canadians are, are sent to deal with them. In response to the British and Commonwealth reply, which was expected and planned, the new president agrees to meet with the Prime Minister. However, no statement is made about the situation in Canada. The Union expected worldwide retaliation which why such a sheer number of troops had invaded in the first place. Canada would be the easy part - the British, however, is who they were really at war with.

 

With American forces now occupying major cities such as Ottawa and Toronto, Canada is expected to fall very soon ((Mod Needed)), and U.S forces move to defend their own east coast as well as Canada's from the British.

The Union army appreciated the friendly gesture from the Confederates, and vowed to themselves that the debt would be repaid. Timing seemed to be the best thing on the side of the Union and Project RHINO finally finishes. The armor was finally being mass produced and sent to frontline soldiers, while the weapon finished installing itself on most of America's aircraft carriers. In the Pacific, the Union readies to defend itself from Chinese, Japanese, or Australian aggression.

President Rick Dalton did what no American would think a Unionist would do - he withdrew troops from the surrounding NCR border. Instead, he focused them in Washington to deter a possible Chinese assault. He wanted to have good relations with all Americans and knew that the feud between California and the Union would be detrimental to both of their nations.

Mod Post - Quick

Canada's government, after intense people from its own nation to end the war, makes peace with the Union under the condition that the Canadian Parliament and United States Congress merge to form one unified Grand Parliament. The other condition is that the reigning Canadian Prime Minister and American President lead the country together through a bilateral leadership. This would be the only way the Canadians would seek peace. They would also move their naval assets to help secure the Pacific Coast should the Union accept their peace terms.

President Richard Dalton, eager to end the fighting in the North to concentrate on the Pacific, accepts the offer. American troops hold their fire and negotiations begin. After intense debate on the senate floor and the passing of the previous president, terms are agreed to and Canada's political parliament merges with the Union's and the Unified Grand Parliament is born. Money is poured into Canadian infrastructure to make highways U.S Compatible. Several bases are planned in Canada and the Canadian leader is brought in as part of a joint-leadership committee that would administer the northern part of North America.

The Australasian Federation 

 

The Pacific Front

The aftermath of the surprise attack at Oahu, specifically the Union Pacific Fleet Headquarters involved the devastation of the Union Pacific Fleet (( Pok indicated heavy to complete destruction of the Union Pacific Fleet in Oahu )), the Naval Headquarters of the Unions Pacific Fleet destroyed in the main attack. The sheer force of the offensive carried out by The Australasian Federal Navy and Imperial Japanese Navy would have crippled the Unions Operations in the Pacific. The Island of Oahu being home to the "Unions largest Military base in the Pacific" being jointly occupied by the State Armies of the Australasian Federation and the Imperial Japanese Army. (( Pok Approved Victory for Japan and Australia joint attack, he did note it do be a decisive victory meaning losses for the Japanese and Australians will be significantly less than the Union  ))

 

After the attack the Australasian Federation would move its fleets to quickly take the smaller Union bases in the Pacific in order to finally quell the American influence in a region that had no business being in anymore. Soon American Imperialism around the world will be finally stopped.

 

Diplomacy 

The Australasian Federation issues a statement towards the Union States of America "To the President of the Union States of America, leave Canada, the Australasian Federation demands you give Canada its independence. The Prime Minister and the newly crowned King of Australia have both agreed your nations aggression to the peaceful Canadian Commonwealth is unwarranted and against the founding principles of your own nation! You will not be allowed access to the greater Pacific Ocean and the territories and nations connecting to the Ocean, you are going to be expelled from this region as you no longer have the right to impose your will on us, Asia and the Pacific!"

 

Research and Development 

 

The Emu Mech Project has reached the mass production stage as the prototype testing has concluded, it'll take a while before enough of the mechs to fill the State Armies of the Federation (( 2 pages ))

Australia, 1788

 

 

Governor Arthur Philip looked through his spyglass, on the deck of the H.M.S Supply. He turned to one of the ship's officers.

"Do you think we can make a home here?" he asked uncertainly.

 

The officer shrugged. "We either do this, or we turn back and return to England."

 

Philip sighed. "We can't turn back now... not after all this way. Not with all the discoveries that are left to make... No. We must found Botany Bay. Not for these criminals, but for the good of the scientists who are to come here under the banner of the Union Jack. We'll collect our own food, our own resources, if need be."

"Well, you'd best make your decision soon." The officer frowned, as the rest of the First Fleet drifted into the bay.

The Moon of Europa, 2048

 

 

Colonel Louis Philip looked through the window of Central Command Station Charles. She turned to one of her officer.

"Do you think we can make a home here? Create a permanent base so far from Earth?" she asked uncertainly.

 

The officer shrugged. "We either do this, or we turn back and return to England."

 

Philip sighed. "We can't turn back now... not after all this way. Not with all the discoveries that are left to make... No. We must create a permanent base on Europa. Not for the resource-hungry moguls back home, but for the good of the scientists who have, and are, to come here under the banner of the Union Jack. We'll collect our own food, our own resources, if need be, like my ancestor in Australia did.

 

The Emperor himself sent me a message, you know."

 

The officer raised an eyebrow. "And?"

 

"He said it's our decision to make." she frowned.

"Well, you'd best make your decision soon." The officer frowned, as drones and landers ferried supplies and scientific samples back and forth from the mothership to the outposts on the surface.

The expedition in Europa sends their message; it takes roughly an hour for communications to be exchanged between London and Europa Command.

 

The astronauts have decided to stay. But they are far from willing to die.

 

Britain attempts to hurry the completion of the H.M.S Jovian Clipper, the second interplanetary mothership of Britannia, to bring more supplies to the expedition on Jupiter, and possibly assist the other mothership in ferrying resources and live alien specimens to Earth. ((Mod please))

 

 

Whilst their scientific teams continue to search for resources and study the newly-found life in Europa's seas, their military escort puts itself to good use. Blocks of ice are cut from the surface using drills, and are transported back to the central base to be distributed amongst the expedition's personnel and bolster their water supplies.

 

As for food... well.

 

There is an attempt to round some of the strange alien creatures up, possibly with underwater sonic waves discharged from a device attached to expedition submersibles, and, after testing for the sapience of these beings, mining drills and makeshift harpoon cannons would be discharged at the aliens. If successful in killing some, these aliens would then be taken back to the surface to be dissected, studied, and then eaten if they check out with the biological specialists of the expedition.

 

Plants had been brought along on the expedition, and in fact, a greenhouse was aboard the expedition's mothership. Scientists attempt to take some of these plants and use them to harvest oxygen for their outposts on the surface.

 

As all of this happens, the expedition continues to search for fossil fuels, metals, and possibly even special crystals or gems on Europa. The Mothership in orbit stays alert, preparing to use it's high-powered LION weapons and missiles to defend the outposts from aggressors from Earth if need be, or to simply destroy passing planetary debris that might endanger the scientists.

Emperor William Windsor stepped out onto the balcony of Buckingham Palace, clearing his throat into the microphone of his podium.

 

Hundreds, if not thousands, of Scots, Englishmen, Irishmen, French refugees, and Iberians stood below, awaiting the speech of the Emperor.

 

"Citizens... We are not alone in the universe. God has created life outside of our beautiful, blue marble in space."

The citizens gasp, taken aback at the revelation.

 

"As of 1300 hours today, our expedition on the Jovian Moon Europa filmed footage of alien creatures swimming across the lens of a video camera. Though this life is not sapient, like us, the discovery of it certainly proves that life is not exclusive to Earth.

 

The revelation, may change our universe... only God knows. But it won't change us... For we never change. If anything, this will make us stronger; for Britain is the first nation to discover the existence of God's other good creatures! The sun never sets on-"

 

A shot rang out from the crowd. In a bloody splatter, the Emperor dropped to the ground, dead, a bullet in his head.

 

The sun might never set on the British Empire, but it had set for William Windsor the Great.

 

The crowd screamed in terror and surprise as their leader died, instantly. MI6 agents in the crowd, after a hassle, find the assassin: an independent Arabic Islamic extremist.

 

Prime Minister Yorkshire attempts to calm the nation through the television, but to no avail.

 

Riot police attempt to keep control of the situation, but the public outrage simply cannot be quelled. All across Britain, a fever breaks out, the high tensions between the Islamic and Christian populations of the British Isles.

 

 

But in the end, Princess Laura Windsor is crowned the Empress of Britannia as per the Emperor's will, and the police manage to protect the Muslim citizens of Britain. However, tensions are still EXTREMELY high between the Muslims and the other peoples of Britain... Businesses persecute Muslims by refusing to hire them. Anonymous civilians trash the yards of their Muslims neighbors. However, things are a lot less violent than they were in the days following the assassination of Emperor William.

 

Married to the Crown Prince of Iberia, there will be talks later about the name of the Royal Family, whether to merge the two names into one or simply continue to use the more prestigious name of the two, Windsor. It is expected that this partnership will help to increase ties between Iberia and Britain, and further solidify their union upon the passing of King Alfonso.

 

 

However, Prime Minister Alice Yorkshire is sacked by the Traditionalist Party, which is now even more powerful than ever.

 

She is replaced by Lord George Lancaster, a rising star in the now powerful House of Lords.

On the Iberian front, RAF planes that fly over the southern area of Iberia are forced to be grounded as the Caliphate employs German anti-aircraft technology. However, the British are not fools, and clearly recognize these devices as German made machines after some time, and the government formally demands that Germany stop their companies from shipping these weapons to the Caliphate.

 

The British desperately send whatever supplies they can over to the fighters in Iberia, although they cannot possibly support such a large army. They call for Australia to provide food and other necessary resources for war to them.

 

British commanders valiantly attempt to reorganize their Iberian troops, and gather what supplies and materials they can find from the local populace in Northern Iberia.

 

The attack on the British naval task force is devastating; out of six ships, a frigate and three destroyers were sunk by the stealth submarine attacks. The H.M.S Windsor's Fist limps home, unable to fight any longer, along with a single surviving destroyer escort.

 

British scientists begin to research methods of detection to foil both these submarines, and possibly the German stealth tank technology encountered in France. ((Mod please))

 

When encountered, the lasers of the Caliphate are highly effective against British vehicles, rivaling the effects of the British LIONs. However, these lasers have only just been employed; they would be found on only a few craft, whereas the British LIONs would become more common by the week.

The Imperium Britannia declares war on the Union States immediately; the forced compromise between the Americans and the Canadians is unacceptable in the eyes of Britain, and they will stand beside the Japanese, the Chinese, and the Australians.

 

For the first time in almost 300 years, Britain was at war with America. Or at least, what was left of it. But this time not to oppress the Americans, but to free their Canadian cousins.

 

 

Royal Navy submarines begin to sweep the Atlantic Ocean, targeting the American Atlantic Fleet and Union cargo vessels. They're armed not only with missiles, but with powerful LIONs, to be tested for the first time in naval combat. It is expected that their effect will be devastating against the hulls of American ships.

 

 

Other Royal Navy vessels are rallied, and many of the trained draftees from the war with Germany are recalled to the Royal Army. Britain's forces continue to build up, and something is going to happen soon...

Oil begins flowing into Britain from Antartica as drills are set up, and soon, their energy needs are more than satisfied. ​((Pok approved to find oil))

 

The soldiers stationed in the area remain on constant alert, setting up missile platforms and keeping the planes at their airfields constantly maintained.

 

The oil freighters travel with military convoys between Britain and the Arctic, and they take obscure detours to avoid enemy ships and possible tracking.

The work on detection technology for the German submarines will take some time, though the tanks are merely tanks, and radar or sonar and such are not of utility on them. ((Will take 10 pages))

The life forms on Europa are silicon-based, of a completely different biological makeup than that of Earth. Hence, the creatures on the moon are completely inedible, and cause anyone who attempts to eat them to fall violently ill, only worsening the hunger problem of the expedition. The first expedition will, unfortunately, perish before the arrival of the second.

The slice of the Antarctic the British have claimed is insufficient the Imperium's needs, especially after the destruction of their North Sea rigs in the latest war. With no imports an oil crisis befalls the Imperium, causing further unrest and hindering the British military's efficiency.

SHORT POST

 

The British expedition soon finds out the terrible fact about the silicon-based lifeforms, and it isn't a pretty sight...

 

Food is rationed immediately, though even doing this won't help the British expedition survive long enough to receive the much-needed supplies from their counterparts

 

They have but two things left to do; in a last ditch attempt to save their lives, they begin to grow the plants from the Mothership in a greenhouse on the moon, hoping that this will help to satisfy their food and oxygen needs. If need be, the expedition will pack into one outpost to conserve their oxygen, using their existing life support and plant oxygen surplus in an attempt to survive.

 

In the mothership's database, it is found that in the early 21st century, scientists came up with a method to recycle waste products to create nutritional substances as well as purified water. The expedition cannibalizes spare equipment, trying to create such a device with parts they'd brought along with them.

 

All the while, they continue to search for resources, though survival has become a first priority.

The Islamic Caliphate

 

 

 

The Caliph sits in a small chair under a cloister in one of the many courtyards of his palace, his brow knotted in a look of great concern. For the first time in his reign, the news was that of utter disaster. Normally difficult to impress, he had allowed even his jaw to drop when shown the footage of the Reclaimer Corporation's appearance at Istanbul. Now they had carried the Greeks across the Bosporus into Anatolia. Victory against such an enemy would be too costly. Although it would hurt his reputation and his pride, Ahmed would have to make peace with this enemy.

 

Caliphate troops, still mostly intact due to the low presence around Istanbul, fall back, and the Greeks are offered the following borders if they will stand down and agree to a ceasefire:

 

The Russian offer of peace is accepted, and the Caliphate pulls out of the war after taking control of their promised land. The war there has been a civil one, and infrastructure in Ukraine and the Caucasus remains nearly intact. The majority of the troops deployed there return to their normal stations and await further orders. And it was good that they would no longer need to remain deployed: the nation would need all the supplies it could spare for the coming months...

 

The water crisis in Mesopotamia was only getting worse. For the last couple years Ahmed had been able to stave off the suffering of his people via a deal with Iran which had allowed the Iraqis use of their reservoirs, but it could never be a permanent solution, for obvious reasons. Every year the Tigris and Euphrates held less water. Every year the dust storms grew worse. Every year fewer and fewer crops grew. If he could not stop his realm from withering, his father would have died for nothing.

 

Food could be procured for the time being, albeit less easily. The Caliphate's grasp now extended over most of Ukraine, which was mostly farmland and suffered from fewer water shortages than the deserts to the south. But people need to drink as well as eat, and there was no way around the one simple, central, massive problem: the Dar al-Islam needed water.

 

It was at first thought that the Nile, which for thousands of years had always provided, could spare its excess before it reached the Mediterranean, but extensive surveys had now been completed, and the results were disturbing: there was very little of this excess, due to the actions of nations upstream. A classic case of others having what one nation required. Ahmed is bound by treaty not to threaten the sovereignty of these nations, but if no other option presented itself, he would act.

 

With the last water reserves in the area nearing depletion, time is of the essence. The massive project which has been consuming so much of the Caliphate's resources is put on hold, and all efforts are diverted to developing desalination techniques with the Caliphate's protectorate Iran. It is now vital to the future of the region that a permanent solution be found, or the great empire which Caliph Ibrahim built will fade away into nothing. All nations which are obstructing the flow of water down the Nile are contacted, with the request that they cease their monopoly of the River's water. Tensions have been high with these nations for some time now as a result of border friction and the devastating slave trade running through east Africa, so such attempts to talk peacefully may not proceed well. The Caliphate's air force secretly positions aircraft in Sudan, and the remaining water reserves are closely monitored. If they reach critical levels, surgical strikes are not off the table, as a last resort.

 

With action taken on these matters, the Caliph goes to sleep peacefully for the first time in days. When he awakes, it is with a fresh mind, one that can once again lead the Islamic nation to greatness. If the Greeks accepted the offer for a ceasefire, then the threat of the Reclaimer Corporation would be less for the time being. But Ahmed would not allow his forces to be so humiliated again. The massive ship which now hovered over Istanbul had shrugged off all attacks on it using kinetic weaponry, so the Caliphate would have to invest its resources into non-kinetic weaponry if it was to prevent another disaster. The first few laser weapons, now known as Qahhar Cannons, had been deployed to Iberia and had been proven effective. But now they would be truly needed. These weapons enter full production to make as many as possible as quickly as possible. They are both outfitted on aircraft and adapted for the ground, with emplacements soon being erected in parts of Turkey, both mobile and immobile. But the Caliphate could only produce so many of these systems, and the Reclaimers could be upon them soon. So Ahmed looks elsewhere.

 

Within a short period of time news cameras catch the Caliph stepping heavily guarded off a jet in New Delhi. It's unknown to the world why he is there, but after being greeted by the Indian president, he is not seen in public in the country. Two days later, he departs, having struck a deal with the Caliphate's eastern neighbors. India is given the designs to construct Qahhar cannons, and in return immediately puts them into mass production, for the time being shipping all of the products to the Muslims. The Islamic State installs these mostly defensively with the option to move them forward if needed, and manufactures a new batch of TAI-TFX fighters all armed with the weaponry.

 

The last shreds of resistance in Yemen vanish as the last of the Arabian Peninsula is brought under the Caliph's control. The official militaries of Yemen and Oman had long ago broken, but insurgents had continued to fight up until this point. Out of this conflict has risen a new division of the Caliphate's military: the Special Tactics Unit. Conceived as a simple elite corps to carry out difficult but essential missions, they soon took full control over the campaign in Arabia, hunting down insurgents in their homes and other hiding places as well as dispatching better armed rebels with ease. Through this function they have evolved into something very different from their original purpose: a secret police.

 

Currently numbering around 15,000, they excel in quelling civilian resistance and keeping an often exaggerated reputation for ruthlessness and vigilance. With no further work to do in Yemen or Oman, they now begin quietly recruiting the best and brightest from around the armed forces, and install monitoring stations around the Islamic world to keep tabs on civilian unrest. Each member of the Special Tactics Unit is heavily screened for loyalty to the Caliph, and they have access to the very best in armament when and if they need it for combat.

The war in Al-Andalus continues according to plan. Islamic control over the skies remains strong, and airstrikes keep constant pressure on the defenders. The main force at Salamanca and Valladolid, as of now having met no competent resistance, regroups and begins to push hard for Leon. The force pushing for Zaragoza meets significant resistance from Iberian troops, as most of the Caliphate's bombing is taking place further west. Advances here are slow, but steady: both sides here have been fighting for a significant amount of time and are weary, but the attackers simply have more resources at their disposal. South of Porto, a similar situation takes place as Islamic forces run up against the heavy fortifications put in place by the Order of St. George. Here, airstrikes are able to make a difference, but progress is slow and continues to grow slower as the Islamic forces approach the city.

 

The stealth submarines in the Bay of Biscay press their advantage, raiding supply lines as often as possible while rotating with the other ten submarines held in reserve as they reload their torpedoes. These raids eventually begins to reach as far north as the Celtic Sea, and become at the very least an inconvenience to the British people, as the threat of Muslim submarine attacks discourages civilian traffic through the area.

 

In an open letter to the British, the Caliph has the following to say about the situation:

"Since the Islamic State was formed by my late father, the Caliph Ibrahim, the British nation has expended all its efforts to attempt to contain it, to prevent it from flourishing. Time and time again we have thwarted you in this respect. Even now you insist on fighting a losing war, based on the merest scraps of a legitimate claim to the land which my rule now embraces. I do not wish for there to be unnecessary suffering in this conflict. But I will not allow you, a nation which has made your position in relation to mine completely clear, to remain so close to my borders. It is time for you to leave Al-Andalus."

Order of Saint George

 

The Order needs more men, plenty of priests and bishops are contacted and asked to spread the word of the battles they fight. "After Iberia France is next!" The french priests and bishops say. "After France Italy is next!" The italian priests and bishops say. This tactic  of fear seems to work, so more and more men are signing up. They now have double the men they had, although they aren't as well equipt as they wished to be.

In the Porto lines the Caliphate's troops are betean back seeing how the terrain is generaly hilly  and forrested. As the troops of Leon are betwen back towards the Asturias they start building defences to stop the Caliphate's adavances, the iberian troops that were sent back from france bulster the Leonese offensive.In Zaragoza the remaining troops were in better shape then the rest. They continue the puss around the city to gain more terrain.

 

The NCR hitmen that were sent, inflitrate back of the lines attempting to cause dissent in the majority catholic population. They attempt to make the population rise up in rebelion. ((Mod plz))If any are captured they would commit suicide, their chips have a kill switch.

Following the successful deployment of the Reclaimer Corp. in Turkey and attacking Istanbul the Greek forces surge forwards, supported by their newly developed aircraft and the now mass-production of body armour. Crossing the Bosporus en masse the forces rush forwards through Asia, the forces quickly gain ground and begin to occupy the coastline of Asia Minor - securing logistical and supply lines.

 

Within the new city of Constantinople, now recovered from the Turks, the vast majority of Muslims are deported and quite literally tossed back into the wake of the advancing Greek armies. Administration is brought in line with the rest of the country and mosques are converted back into churches, celebrations of Orthodoxy being partaken in as the Ecumenical Patriarchy is restored in the seat of its power.

 

The Caliphate's generous offer is accepted, with Greek troops quickly securing these lines and occupying the various towns and cities within the now Grecian soil - the dream of a 'Greater Greece' realised with the Hellenic Republic's successful occupation of both their rightful Turkish lands and most of the Balkan states. The troops are split into garrisons and energy is poured into settling down and readying the forces within peacetime garrisons.

 

The tremendous boom to the armaments industry and general economy made by the overwhelmingly impressive war results, far greater than any expected, is artificially encouraged by the government despite the war's end, money that was being spent on mass vehicle production now being pushed through as industrial subsidies. The industrial capacity in these now conquered regions are quickly pushed to the use of the Grecian state, this valuable land enabling an economic boom along with continuing the expansion of the military that is currently taking place - albeit at a slower pace.

 

The research that was invested into areas such as greater mechanised armour is now shifted to a 'Hellenic Space Program', the intention so far being to lay grass roots and set-up a facility capable of launching such an ambitious mission. Accompanying this is a propaganda campaign, advertising a 'Greater Republic' ideal and aiming to instil a sense of national pride following the surprisingly effective campaigns that had taken place in Turkey.

 

The gradual change of Macedonia and Albania from overwhelmingly autonomous provinces to incorporated into the direct Grecian parliament begins to reach fruition as larger cities are turned over, and the project is almost finished - yielding results of far higher efficiency within these areas.

The Central Asian Union 

With the Central Asian Union now established, the former Central Asian Soviet Republics are finally reunited. Qasimov, when sworn in as the first ever President of the C.A.U. declares "Stronger together" for the umpteenth time before an enthusiastic and ethnically mixed crowd. It has come to characterize and mark his reign. Yet there is work to do - much work. First of all, the power grids of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan are lacking and undeveloped, yet due to the sparse population density of the C.A.U., the space is there to do something about that. 

 

Construction of several large nuclear power plants begins nationwide, the Kazakh uranium flowing out of the Northern mines and into the Souther power plants. Due to the existence of many of the needed materials for construction and maintenance within the C.A.U., the cost and time of these power plants is slightly reduced. They are however still very expensive to build and a slight tax increase is put into place as quietly as possible to maintain a good cash flow for the government and to avoid bad debt. The Q.1 dual-barrel tank had been under production in the newly founded factories of Kazakhstan for a short while now and with the addition of the industrial plants of the 4 other member states of the C.A.U., production per month increases significantly. About one fifth of the old tanks have been replaced with Q.1s and as the new models roll out, the old Soviet-era tanks are recycled or sold to not completely go to waste. With the national researchers now ready to move on, a new ambitious rifle and armour project is begun. The project has not yet received a name, but the basic idea is there and it is taking its first baby steps; the scientists are aiming for a fast firing and high damaging rifle which can be connected to and paired with a full body suit/armour. The armour imitates those already in place in foreign militaries, equipped with a smart HUD helmet with visor, electronic enhancement and aiding of the wearer's movement through the use of motors and the armour will also be coated with lightweight plates. The plating is first and foremost designed to absorb shock and shrapnel damage but should also significantly slow or deflect bullets if at the right angle. ((mod needed for time, this would be a big project for me considering my country's limited researching capabilities))

 

Finally, a proposition is offered to Afghanistan offering its joining with the C.A.U. as an equal state to the preexisting members. Qasimov promises that joining the C.A.U. would help to bring stability to the country and that much economic aid will be supplied if they accept. In reality, the offer is meant to boost the C.A.U.'s manpower and population, which sits at a modest 70 million for now and which would be significantly strengthened by the Afghans. In case of rejection, troops begin to move towards the border in small groups and the country's only Q.1s are all deployed in the region. A war would be costly due to the terrain and nature of Afghanistan but intimidation might help the C.A.U.'s cause. ((mod needed plz))
