Personally, I feel like LOTC needs more penguins.

I will incorporate this into my next event. (^:

Im not certain how people expect something mundane like bandits or pirates work as spontaeous events, if all you ever use is fast travel. Except of course when the staff is involved properly and sets the portal from its usual destination to an unforeseen encounter.. otherwise, it's kind of boring isn't it. Event team made events aren't the only events afterall, but the huge map and fast travel make it hard to prove, perhaps we do need pseudo-metagaming properties in our dynamic map - - - player positions!

On the other hand, I'll whip up some antagonizing-action with some kool kids once I get out of military anyways. (Dec 18th)

I think we need a healthy mix of both.

@Booklight, the ET rarely deal in bandit events because it is something that a player will almost always do. There is plenty of banditry about. However, it's not something that hasn't happened in the past. If people enjoy that sort of thing, then perhaps an ET can help sponsor a small group of players by joining in with them and aiding them (without using pex abusively, of course) and provide the roleplay to that populace.

I would suggest doing what aerial, shittiest ET, has said. Maybe a group of players interested in doing large scale banditry, and even raids on smaller communities, can get together with an ET and become the thorn in the side of a small region looking for roleplay. It would be interesting, as long as the bandit group aren't pixel hungry assholes.

As for the high fantasy... we need it. We need big badass monsters to kill. We need monster hunts. We need powerful mages. We need hordes of monsters to slay. The High fantasy aspect is what draws a lot of players. If we can mix that, and mundane events, we'll get a healthy setting that keeps everyone happy.

The issue with the banditry ET supported events is that no matter what players are going to make the allegations that they're pixel hungry which is going to only result in it either being tossed to the wind or the players ending up being shunned OOCly by a majority of the server.

I believe that regular mundane people who don't partake in some fantasy elements of RP like to prove their might by slaughtering big and nasty fantasy creatures. On the other hand mages and such don't want to kill a bear with their magic when they could be fighting a Fleugal. I think we need an antag, perhaps an antag that is more mundane...

Ideas could be natural disasters, illness, raiders and things of the sort. This way the fantasy events feel more special.

you can probably get away with creature events nowadays because all the humans have a witcher boner so nobody cares anymore

Delves are a great way to make the land feel interactive and alive, and not just a fancy set-piece. As much as I disliked a lot of Asulon's design choices its hidden dungeons were a highlight for me and my friends. We once spent three days trying to figure out how to complete a puzzle and then finally found out we needed chickens thrown across a chasm, felt pretty rewarding. They promote exploring the land, makes the land more interesting, allows for a passive form of storytelling by hiding/incorporating story into the delve's lore, and gives the build team something to do (I dunno I just picture they don't have much to do between maps.)

Speaking of high fantasy, give me my Dwemer Centurions Steam Golems. Grr, loreteam, grr.

That aside, have a link for big creatures? http://imgur.com/gallery/9NePo

The undead thing is something for itself, a return would not necessarily be that convenient, unless something smart gets drawn up.

As for powerful mages, the question may be here, how powerful can a mage be, how powerful may a mage be, what are the limits of his acceptance amongst the players? What would his role be? Which mages would be taken? Questions over questions, you see. For pre-planned events, things like that have to be taken into consideration properly, we want the people to have fun, no? Also, I do have a mage.

I feel inclined to become an ET actor, I'd have some ideas, but I do not really know if I could write a proper "interesting" application or if it would be fun for the people who might want to participate in it.

I would very much enjoy more fantasy, more events, as well as (As zaezae stated) something like a foreign threat. Another nation beyond our realm, perhaps just a few bandit camps set up, and more random events.

I had an idea earlier when I was making an ET app. Have a few ET's occasionally fly around the map and give random events. Pack of wolves, bandits (Not your average PVP bandits), and some high-fantasy creatures/groups. I would honestly welcome being met by a few ET bandits along the road.

I have a story for a new antagonist if you want to hit me up for it.

We need a staffmember to become a villain. The villain will start to slowly without anyone noticing it raise an army of players to raid and start a conquest. They will have a base somewhere hidden on an island.

First there will be a couple of small raids across the land for loot. After that the amount of raids will start increasing, and when they have enough resources they will start a war. It would be nice if the base of these villains can't be seen on the map.

Just a random idea Im throwing out here :P

we need a server antagonist, no matter how salty people get it always works in the end if its ran well. If you are worried about the undead being repeat again, or some other **** then I recommend that the LT's design a new antagonist from existing lore from the ground up, appoint a player not a staff member to be the IC leader of them, and design a plugin that is similar to the one we used in 3.0
