In summery I would like to teach new players how things work on the server and help guide them the kinda scary time of being new to a community. I'd make my way to the cloud temple and meet up with them in game. From there, I'd explain the fast travels, and give a brief explanation on the different places on the server. Next, I would take them to their designated city and once there, I'll explain the different chat channels, such as /q and /rp. I'll explain how to emote and roleplay with others and have him try to roleplay with me. Afterwards, I'd give a brief explanation about going to the forums for further guidance, forum rp, or any guides or applications you may want to read. I'd ask if they have any further questions, and allow them to continue on with their roleplay experience.

I can help them be immersed with LotC and point them towards certain factions if they wish to. How will you go about assisting new players?: I feel that a large part of why players do not stay on the server more than a week or two before disappearing is because while getting set up with a home in a populated city is helpful, it lacks purpose for new players. I'd like to find ways to give players objectives or even quests, perhaps including them in small events and the like. I also feel it is important for them to understand the various dynamic of each group or nation and to become properly acquainted with hierarchy, social standings, and just generally how to get along with each culture. Additionally, I think we should actively teach players how nexus crafting works and get them started in a profession.
Xarkly 17299 Share Posted January 31, 2017 You still have my details, and I'm happy to continue working an adviser for new human players. The couple of people who've sought me out seemed pretty grateful for a hand, so I definitely recommend you keep going with this great initiative. I'd actually recommend you urge new players to seek out this assisstance.

Quite honestly, people make their first opinions on new players based on how they look. I can put together quick skins that look decent enough to get them through their first days. Maybe it's not the most grand form of help, but hey. It's something.

Chorale__ 2147 Share Posted January 31, 2017 Volunteer format MC Name:Chorale_ Nation(s)/Faction you belong to IC: Haense, Lorraine-Savoy, And basically all of the human kingdoms. Time Zone: EST Skype (if applicable): You can get this from me in the DM's Discord (if applicable):^^ Forum Account Link: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/profile/77705-chorale_/ Preferred Method of Contact: Discord, or the PM's on the forums. I usually always have the forums opened in a tab, and my computer dings whenever I get a PM. Skype is also cool, but I have discord on my phone in case i'd be any help at school, or away from my computer. How will you go about assisting new players?: Well, I've honestly been waiting for this kind of system to form. The only team where I could really get new players thrown at me would be the AT, which i've applied for many times, and you can go follow up on my applications. In pretty much every application it'll say, "I'd love to show new players around," and so on, and so forth. Which, I really would love to do, truly. I'd also love for this to eventually form into a staff team! Although it's not mandatory for a tag that makes me look cool, it'll do. Sigh. No, but for real, I would show players around the server, and show them their way through basic commands. Along with basic commands, I'd re-evaluate their definitions of Metagaming and Powergaming, Which would help a bunch of new players greatly. Most new players usually get in trouble with one of the above, when they first join the server, if they don't know what it really means. I'd also roleplay with the new player(s), and I'd be sure to speak with them OOCly, and guide them through OOCly. I think that this would increase many new players roleplaying ability, and what not. I would also run through some of the lore, and keep them up-to-date with what's "important" right now in the roleplaying community. Along with world lore, i'd make sure that they have a good understanding of whom the nation leaders are, of wherever they choose to land their character, and popular surnames, (As in, who to mess with, and who not to mess with. That is, if your character doesn't have a rebellious personality). Now, if you really wanted to make this a team, I could help you! I know I don't have the best reputation to uphold, or anything like that, but I can guarantee the upmost competency. I even have a cute little name for the team. The "TT" (Tutorial Team). Or, The "TM's"(Tutorial Moderators), Etc. I'm really, really glad that this volunteering system has come into place, and I need to give the person who came up with the idea, a big hug. You might even get a kiss. Those are actually some very bad names. The PAT sounds better, or blantly the PA. That's all for now.

I feel like Ker'nor is a good place for new players to come into to learn about the server, although it does have the downside of some isolation, it's a peaceful place where they can get to know some characters or set up a home and then explore elsewhere on the server. As an EX-GM, I know a lot of the commands and I can help them out if they're in need of it. If you need more info, you can always message me on skype.
