A Young Elf's View on Oren

Oren. Lovely, lovely Oren. A shining Ruby of a city. A Ruby I wish were shattered.

Oren is a place of beauty, misery, and corruption. It's a glimmering stone, with a tainted inside.

Providence, how clean it is, how well mannered their people are. It is a sham. They know it.

A place of lies and hidden harm to those who DARE try and expose its truth.

A place. I would call home. For six years of the measly thirteen I have been around for.

Where I would've been nearly killed, had it been for some kind dwarves. A haunted doll, a poltergeist, they killed for me. And what happened after. The ISA ran the dwarves out. I was young, seven then.

I was disguised as a human for two years. I was treated better than then I am now, as an elf. My ears, clipped, by hazy and unknown faces, and a family I have no memory of. gone. I grew to have pride in the city of Providence, yet I've always known it was a terrible, terrible place.

The ISA is seen as the greatest issue within the Empire, but it's so much more. The nobles, a cruel clique one is simply born into by chance. They're friendly, yet try to poison one another, for what? More gain? Wealth? To be able to say their enemy was rid of?

It's all horrid to see, and hear of.

I say this now, after going other places. The oh so scary Sedan. A refuge to those who need it, as I see it.

Just before I finished writing this, an ISA soldier pulled his sword on me, for simply going in the direction of the city.

I denounce Oren as my home it once was. If I would even call it a home. Consider me a traitor. Try to kill me.

Ave Prince Louis of Sedan

Ave Sedan

Signed, Mirabella Violet

Kavrel raises a glass of wine in a toast, nodding and smiling "Well written, Mira, even for of our kin you prove wise beyond your years. Ave Sedan." The man says in agreement: "GOD be with you, ome'ii." He concludes his statement before readying for tomorrow's drill.

Somewhere far away, a man sitting upon his favorite couch reads this. The warmth of a fireplace nearby setting a calm mood upon the room as his gaze trails slowly over each word, slowly taking in all of if... He remembers his experiences with the damned place, the hypocritical ways of some

individuals and the absolute disgrace of an organization the ISA is... His eyes focus on the fire before him after reading, his digits firmly grasps the paper... After a few moment of thought, he inhales some air to simply say: "Whack." Afterwards, he throws the missive to the fire and forgets about it.

The warm silence of the Augustine's reading room desk, host previously to a time of pensive repose, was suddenly broken by the high-pitched voice of Princess Helen, addressing her ever-present guardian in Governess Anna.

"Lo! Here, a woman that finds in Oren a hateful jewel; There, a man that finds in Oren a corrupt dictatorship. Yet they are able only because of the freedoms they are afforded in our Empire! In Haense, or Norland, they would be put to the sword in an instant...Why is it, Ms. Anna, that when fed a morsel, they demand the meal?" she asks with a frown.

“Lady Seneschal!” A maid cried out, running and giving the injured woman the article. The new and injured seneschal, known as Madame Braun, simply took a deep sigh, before throwing the notice into the flames and pushing the small maid out of the office.

After many minutes of paper work, the woman took another sigh, standing up and looking towards the inner palace’s gardens. The woman said to herself in a somber tone, “War of ones whom seemed like family and my home rages on. I shall be sadden by this conflict. I hope it shall end soon. God be with us all, as we are all children of god. May sinners be forgiven and saints be remembered forever. For I am forever loyal to my home, but shall still grieve of this conflict.” Once the woman finished her dramatic dialogue, she would go back to her paper work.

"Dearest Helen, you mustn't pay mind to crazy ladies that lack any sort of etiquette. Ignore them and you will be better for it. I am sure she is just bitter that she is an irrelevant speck." The Governess mused, looking up from her pen and paper to peer at the pretty Princess.

With that she threw a crumbled paper at her ward with a grin.

Ophelia Romanov read these words over and over, a sly smirk appearing upon her face. Whomever wrote this was more than accurate! It’s like they were a witch who could read minds!

“The only people who would ever disagree are the little submissive hounds that wear that hideous ISA uniform, who need to be stepped on until they submit to someone such as I! The incestuous women to gravel at their feet in those expensive dresses that cover their markings of the beast that is nobility! The white powders they wear to cover the shame of having relations with cousins and brothers, truly must be horrible for them which is why they would most likely snicker over these truthful statements.”

Solomon reads the letter once, twice, and thrice again, brows furrowing above his worn and worried face. He stands, pacing around the teashop, and glances outwards toward the open sea.

“That a child would be allowed to feel such pain, would be exposed to the wrongs of the world of men so soon, that is the truest tragedy. Good luck, little one, this land has ever been a cruel one to the young, and Oren is not without its thousand sins. Find your home, child, find a place where you can be at peace. You do not deserve the horrors of humankind.”

The Solicitor-General would start a criminal investigation against Mirabella Violet and would forward a copy of this document to the Attorney-General of the Ministry of Justice.

"She shall pay for her crimes against the Imperial State"

Flemius, who has excellent ears, finds these two statements to be quite contradictory.

"Don't worry, her Right to Trial will be respected when we charge her with Sedition" A Constable would say in response to Flemius.

Mira is quite ready for whatever is to come.

A Mali'ame who'd somehow gotten his hands on the missive wonders how a thirteen year old girl can write so well.

Goi would be sitting on the ground within a forest with his tiny legs crisscrossed. He would be seen multi-tasking eating a banana with his left hand while also reading the missive with his right hand. Goi just shrugs his massive shoulders at the missive as he finishes his tasty treat. Throwing the peel behind him for someone to someday come across or it sits there until it decomposes to lustrous fresh dirt.

"Hmm... via proxy I imagine that they would trial her, as the ISA could not possibly apprehend this woman - Velulaei y nae ilumeh, young one." Ruathar smiled as he lit a cigar in the comfort of his home, before crumbling up the letter for the fireplace.

Halvar Edvardsson Would read over the missive which made its way to his desk. As he read the child's words, he would nod along before cringing in disgust. "With the public nature of thes letter, I can practicalleh smell theh air of condescension and loathing from theh inbred nobility of the kingdom of Oren from here. Supremely proud of themselves for their snarky mean-spirited comments made privateleh against a thirteen year old girl." The aging monarch would say, tossing the paper into the fire.
