From the far stretches of the southern oasis, news begins to ravish the land about an oddity in the desert. A great white light shone across the skies, and brought a violent sand-storm with it. The sandstorm swept away decrepit building-blocks of ancient, centenarian structures that once stood erect in the desert. Something had arrived in the desert.

 

A great, foul beast flew overhead. It was similar to a Barn Owl, yet seemed much larger in size than the tallest of men. It vanished into the distance, and was never seen again.

 

TO THE KNOWLEDGEABLE,    The desert begins to shift. Starlight illuminates the sky. You feel a sense of intuition, to discover the unknown. The wisemen seek out their curiosity. The knowledgeable cast their stones.    ={X}=   ALLAH, THE HEAVENLY DISPOSER. THE ALMIGHTY. THE ALL-LOVING. THE MERCIFUL.   AR-RAHMAN. AR-RAHEM.   AND YOU WILL BE AL-MALIK.   ={X}=   The sandstorm begins to settle. An omnipotent mist of blue begins to spiral downwards, and crashes into the desert. An empty oil-lamp sits on the peak of a hill. It is covered in jewels and gems; the metal is unknown, yet it is ebon-black and gleams a vibrant purple-hue.   ={X}=   THE OWL CAST ITS’ DIE   THE FAITHFUL THE SCHOLARLY THE SAVERS THE DEVILS   WASTE NOT THIS OPPORTUNITY.   A cacophonous voice intones.

An oil-lamp has appeared somewhere in Almaris. It sits without purpose, waiting for a holder to catch its interest, or to find it before others. The purpose of the oil-lamp is currently unknown. This rumour is spread from word-to-word. From peasant to King, and it continues to spread without pause – are these rumours true, or is it a foul-play to lure the greedy?    The Owl Awaits.

Jared Dune smiles. Finally, he would be able to find a magic lamp, like the ones he'd heard about in the stories. From it, three wishes would be granted that would fix the cruelties of the world and make it just. His first wish would be for women to stop being stuck-up, insolent, vain, idiotic, and daft. The second would be for women to shut their annoying yapping around him and listen to the interesting, intelligent things he had to say. The final wish would be for women to stop falling for jerks like the ones back in his village, and instead decide to give nice, caring, honorable men like him a chance for once.

The Talking Dagger bickered and sang praises of the man known as Malik. It bore a jewel upon its cross guard, and within it ran an eye -- peering and looking about as they ventured afar.
