Gavin_ 1834 Popular Post Share Posted February 22, 2022 (edited) Spoiler To Die “Now!” urged Serva Rose, Commander of the Malinorian Sentinels, and with his word and signal, Braxus Ni’leya, a young and new recruit squared up to his training partner. They were to fight one another, utilizing hand-to-hand combat tactics that they had just been taught. Braxus’ training partner took on a face of complete and utter shock, he peered over Braxus’ shoulder, pointing to something behind him, and Braxus took the bait. With one firm and solid jab to his jawline, Braxus fell onto the hard ground he but moments ago stood firmly and decisively upon. His training partner smirked to himself, proud of his achievements, and Serva Rose clapped his hands, chuckling as he aided Braxus back to his feet. “Remember, Braxus, your enemies will do whatever they can to defeat you.” and from this simple, humbling lesson, Braxus gained an invaluable insight that would last his entire lifetime - Those wishing to destroy you, will do so, whatever the cost, irrespective of manner, no matter the repercussions. When training was over, his jaw still bruised and aching, Braxus decided a stroll was in order. As he meandered his way throughout the bustling city, he dipped his head several times to many notables - Khel, Emberhard, Kolyat, Titania, and Seth being some of those he encountered that day along the streets of Malinor. _____________________________________________________________________________________ “Lliran - Evariran, today we have been tasked with a very important mission. We are to return to elcihi and seek out whatever information there is to be found - Phaedrus must pay for his crimes.” and with that, Len’niut made their way stealthily into the city, hoisting up grappling hooks and scaling the walls. However, resistance was to be found almost instantly. They drew their spears and began their skirmishing atop the walls of the old, and now bloody city. Unsurprisingly, there were only a handful of the Bronze to contest with, as most of the guard were away with Phaedrus, as he attempted to rally foreign support for his genocide against the Mali’thill of Haelun’or. They were soundly defeated, and several would be bound and taken as hostage, back to where the Mali’thill now dwelt, for interrogation. It was this encounter that led Braxus to understand something fundamental about the nature of Haelun’or. Despite many wishing for its demise, no matter how many times her people are brutalized - Haelun’or remains, as do the Mali’thill. For Haelun’or is eternal. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Death was certain, although the manner of his death was his to decide, and so he chose to fight, as he had done all his life. Braxus, still ill although not quite at death’s door, left Lin Ni’leya equipped in his old Sillumiran armor, which many of his fellow citizens were quite accustomed to - an heirloom of perhaps better times, and it would be in this uniform, which defined Braxus’s life - a Soldier, of both the word and the blade, that he would die. Charging forth, he sunk his blade deep into the shoulder of one of the fenn, a fatal wound, before himself succumbing to the dozen blades or so which pierced him. What were once sharp, almost unbearable pinches of steel, quickly lost their vitriol. “May you see Haelun’ors light on the path ahead when the road you walk is dark. May you always hear, even in your hour of sorrow, the gentle singing of the lark. When times are hard may hardness never turn your hardness to stone. May you always remember when the shadows fall – you do not walk alone.” The final words of Braxus Ni’leya to those who would fight at his side as the last of his breath left him. For Braxus is now dead, and died did he, fighting for Haelun’or, one of the few who rose to meet the challenge of the fennic warband. Issued from the lin of Talonii Ni’leya, To Die, is an inevitability of having lived, and lived have I - through many centuries of peace and prosperity - war and destruction, for such is the ebb and flow of our world. From order to chaos, and from chaos to order. If you are reading this, then I, Braxus Ni’leya, have found eternal peace. My Silver Soul has left its corporeal vestiges behind for something far greater than anything this mortal world could offer. I move from the corruptible, to the incorruptible. It is my intention to defend Haelun’or in this coming conflict, fighting alongside my kin. I am certain, and their determinations are now known, that I will meet my death on the battlefield. I die on Principle, defending something that I love - Haelun’or, maehr’sae hiylun’ehya, my kin and lliran. This is the most noble of deaths one can only hope for, I am honored that this shall be how I meet my end. My earliest memories of Haelun’or, aside from stories told by my parents, I owe to Mister Seth Calith - for it was he who brought me from Malinor to begin my life anew, as a child of Silver - one of Larihei’s flock, and for his intervention, I am eternally grateful - for without him, I would not have lived a life worth living. Haelun’or truly is the only thing that warrants the accompanying woes and suffering of existence. The vigor, with which I hold my principles, I attribute to Malaurir Kalenz Uradir, though we had our differences in the end, it is he who instilled in me, a ferocious hunger for the attainment of that which is most elusive - Perfection - Purity. _____________________________________________________________________________________ To Haelun’or, To Blessed Haelun’or and her denizens, During my tenure as Sohaer, I sought to revive the Nation. I sought to reinstate the teachings of Larihei as the driving principles of all of our lives. There is no greater pride in my life, than to have had the opportunity to serve you as your Sohaer. I know that my efforts shall not be in vain, for I have seen the fruition of my tenure in each and every one of you. You all bear the mark of those who are pure - you all shine as a beacon against those who seek to destroy our way of life. Those who spawn from the dark, you shall overcome, for there is no darkness which can prevail against the Silver light within you. Remember this in the coming trials and tribulations. It is of the utmost importance to remember, dear lliran, that in this current conflict with the tribe of fenn, the faux princess, and the crown of elvenesse, that we have not transgressed, nor have we erred. We have not descended into barbarity, nor have we plunged into wicked violence. There is no justification for the murder of the innocent, let alone the genocide of a race of innocents. War must only be sanctioned in times of necessity and where justifiable - they have declared their intentions for our destruction based on greed and untamed ambition. Let us remember, that the first raid against us took place long before there was any talk of ‘slavery’. This is mere propaganda - a ‘cause’ for war to make us look as if we are the ones who propagate evil. They claim that we are the enemy and that it is Haelun’or who refuses the invitation of Elven Unity, yet we were never offered Unity. We were told to submit, or die - to hand Haelun’or over to a faux princess who still wishes for its destruction. For our refusal, we are branded evil. However, before I became Sohaer, when I was Medi’ir, I ventured to fenn on several occasions and befriended their leader for a time. I had offered him, for perhaps the first time in our troubled history, peace - the beginnings of friendship - yet shortly after this, they declared against us, seeking our demise. Perhaps they took my sign of friendship as weakness. But alas, this is the wicked and deceitful nature of that ibleesian tribe. My dearest lliran - your charge now, is to continue our way of life. Do not let this conflict hamper you in your pursuit of maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. For this is the only way that they can win - by the elimination of your purity - the dulling of your Silver Soul. Larihei is with you _____________________________________________________________________________________ To Talonii Ni’leya, To my children and relatives, I urge you not to mourn my loss, but to seek to instill in yourselves, the same drive that I possessed - to live as pure a life as possible. True happiness is to be found in he who lives well, and to live well, is to live purely. When one understands this, one transcends their mortal coil. It is an ethereal experience which I cannot describe with mere words, for it is beyond the realm of perception. There is no greater gift I can bestow unto you, my children, than to have raised you as Mali’thill. As a father, I could not have asked for better children - your mother and sister would be proud. What lies before you both, may be unpleasant, but remember who you are - Ni’leya blood runs through your veins. You are destined for something greater. _____________________________________________________________________________________ To My Enemies, Truth has a way of revealing itself in the end. For some unknown reason, it always manages to manifest and shed light on the many falsities which seek its destruction. In your heart of hearts, you know that your transgressions against Haelun’or and myself were and are, unjustifiable. I never sought to harm you, nor destroy your culture, nor your way of life. I never led armies to your gates, nor did I raid your peoples. I simply ruled Haelun’or with a focus on Haelun’or, for Haelun’or. Herein, however, lies your fear and concern, for you harbor a hatred for Haelun’or. A strong Haelun’or with a strong leader, to you, is unimaginable, and so you have corrupted the leaders of the world against us, out of fear. Even when I was deathly ill, and bed-ridden, did you seek my capture and death. You have tried to convey to the world, a falsity which not even you can convince yourselves of - that I - Haelun’or, deserves the destruction, pillage and murder, you now bring to her gates. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Having written his last words, Braxus donned his armor and drew his blade, he paused at the threshold of his home, stepping out for the final time. Spoiler I have played Braxus Ni'leya for ~8 years or so. He was my first proper character and I have so many wonderful memories. It truly has been a fantastic experience and to everyone who added to Braxus' development over the years, a huge thank you! All things must come to an end, and sadly, it's time to say goodbye to Braxus. It's been fun. Edited February 22, 2022 by Gavin_
satinkira 5981 Share Posted February 22, 2022 (edited) For everything I did, he still died. ChildTea reads over the missive to Haelun'or. I tried so hard. I told so many people that Braxus had nothing to do with it, yet.. Yet it still happened.. But it's not my fault. Braxus is right; I am being used as an excuse to wage war. An unjust war. It is the fault of Ivarielle and Fenn. He stares at the missive, setting it to the side of his desk; pinning it to the wall. They will pay for this. NestroPapaya 478 Share Posted February 22, 2022 Kalenz Ni'leya stood besides the body of his beloved maln, tears began forming in his eyes as he whispered a few words one final time.
Gemini 1639 Share Posted February 22, 2022 ”To join Larihei in her eternal rest is part of the cycle of us all.” Laurir An’asul would idly comment as the contents of the letter were published, the elfess would light a candle next to her window. “You served well Ni’leya, your service never forgotten. Now is your time to rest, together with Haelun.” The Okarir concluded, for a brief moment the elfess allowed herself to mourn the loss — just for a moment — before the never ending duties of a councillor would catch up to her. MapleSunflower 1049 Share Posted February 22, 2022 Rain fell from above the Silver State; nature mourned for the loss of so many lives. An umbrella protected an elfess robed in blue from becoming soaked by the pouring of tears from the sky. She had just heard the news from her adopted haelun, Ayliana. Standing in front of the Ni'Leya home, Cailin Ni'Leya remained still. "Was it really worth it, Uncle? To die a futile death? To allow them your life? Look at what they've done to our walls." Her fierce gaze remained forward. "You cried 'Maehr'sae Hiylun'ehya'... and yet when we met last, before my tears for you had dried, you were cursing out an outsider... and here we are." Bitterly, the oem'ii turned on her heel and left, wisps of fabric flowing behind her with each step. The hem of her robes became soaked by the puddles under her feet. She would return home - Home to Miryaris. Spoiler I want to kill Braxus (Ticofaidh_Ar_La). Literally kill Braxus (Ticofaidh_Ar_La). No other person can come close to relating to how much I want to kill Braxus. There is no way you can convince me not to kill Braxus (Ticofaidh_Ar_La). Killing Braxus (Ticofaidh_Ar_La) could not possibly be anymore me. I want to kill Braxus, and nobody can convince me otherwise. If anyone approached me on the topic of not killing Braxus then I immediately shut them down with overwhelming evidence that I want to kill Braxus. I want to kill Braxus, it is indisputable. Why anyone would try to argue that I shouldn't kill Braxus is beyond me. If you held two pictures of me and killing Braxus side by side, you'd see no difference. I can safely think of killing Braxus every day and say "Yup, that's me." I can practically see killing Braxus every time I look at myself in the mirror. I go outside and people stop me to comment how much I want to kill Braxus. I chuckle softly as I'm assured every day that I want to kill Braxus. On a real note though, thank you for welcoming me to the Haelun'or community and letting me join the Ni'Leya family. It was great getting to roleplay with you and hang around. I'm excited to see what comes next.

Mephiedantes 94 Share Posted February 22, 2022 The missive reached the banished elf. . . "I see.."He spoke, reaching out a hand to an abyssal black greatsword. Handing it to the middle of three armoured people infront of him. "Time is nigh, fetch me Taevas. . . the tea child" Karirimir so spoke. @satinkira @DrunkPapaBear @Acostrob @Air
TreeSmoothie 4943 Share Posted February 22, 2022 An elfess -- the 'Silver Drake' -- sneers down at the missive, a blade firmly grasped in one hand and a whetstone in the other. She dragged the dagger across its surface, sending sparks into the air as its edge was filed away at. " . . . Good. One nuisance down! Mmm ... I need to join up with ol' Silver Lubba and hunt me some Haelun’orians!"
XoxoMinnieXoxo 388 Share Posted February 22, 2022 Irelia Ni'leya, the youngest daughter of Braxus Ni'leya was foreign to showing her emotions, yet a day so dreadful would be her exception. She simply stepped out of the Ni'leya Manor dressed in black from head to toe; occasionally wiping the few tears that made way down her cheeks "No-, no-no" She could only mutter to herself as she would begin to set up a Vigil for her father outside of the Artisan Guild. There would be candles lit and flowers arranged varying in different types and colors. Irelia would fall to her knees; cupping her face with her hands as strong sobs escape the mourning women-
SteppeNomad 1552 Share Posted February 23, 2022 Another great son of Larihei perished today. Oh to know the truth amongst the foes, to feel the heart and weep. For each loss of elven life is a loss to the world. A wise statesman, a wise soldier. To die in defense of our sacred state... An act most righteous. May you meet your ancestors in the next life, and may the end of our enemies come by the torch

Your Favorite Impure 734 Share Posted February 27, 2022 A grizzled elf in the lands had heard of what transpired in Haelun'or, and while he had little sympathy for his fairer cousins, he does vaguely recall serving with one named Braxus all those centuries ago under Serva Rose. He now sits around the crackling fire in Nevaehlen while many others slumber, flask in hand and a smoldering cigar in the other. Having time to think about the events of the world he raises his drink a little, a salute from one old warrior to another. Spoiler We never really RP'd at all back in Anthos but I figured I'd give a nod, from one oldhead to another, especially someone who remembers Serva, lmao
