[PK] Murder of Leon "Nel" Kvitravn

Recommended Posts

Leon began life like all do, except he was a little different. Instead of playing Guards and Criminals, or enacting wars with friends, he kept mostly to himself. Though one particular sorvian seemed to peak his interest. A creature by the name of “Glass” or so his newts would say. He would create all sorts of alchemical goods, selling them outside his shop. Though Leon never would end up learning the trade, he loved playing with the newts. As he grew older, he would form an opinion strongly against killing, or even hurting anyone, no matter what they did. This led to a few disputes with his father, but he persisted, and pursued a life of herbs and medical bags. Tending to the wounded seemed to be the best way he could contribute and still make his father proud, and one day he woke up to his coming-of-age trial… to kill a bear.

He had been thinking about it for a while and looked to his older brother, Hal, for advice, or maybe even an excuse. He didn’t want to kill things, but it didn’t seem he had much of a choice as he started tracking the poor beast. A few hours later, he was face-to-face with it, and in a clash of steel and claws, he came out victorious, though he wasn’t sure if he liked it. And came the silence. For several months, Leon refused to speak to anyone. He was ashamed. Ashamed of what he did, but like everything, it would fade with time, and he would learn that everything has a balance, which would once again, lead to his partial death...

-Death of Leon - Birth of Nepareizs-

Well, todays the final stand. Everyone is either working frivolously or nervously chatting, well, I’m writing, but that doesn’t exactly count. I’ve grown changed, a lot lately. First with the bear trial where I had to kill the poor thing. Now, we’ve abandoned Alisgrad and joined up with Valians and Hansani alike just to stay on Nyrheim. I just hope I can help people. How do I help people in this? We’re set outside the gate so I won’t have time. Unless I drag them, but I’ll figure something out.

“I had to kill the poor thing”

Leon sets down the period-appropriate-writing-utensil and tucked away the page as a Norland soldier approached him. As he looked up the soldier shoved a dull sword and small round shield at him. “I-I don’t fight. I’m the me-'' The gruff man looked down at Leon “You get one sword and one shield. Don’t die.” he would then walk off as Leon stood up looking for his medical bag. “Where on ear-” suddenly the sky darkened and a war horn sounded. No time. He rushed to Loys, a fellow Kitraven, and was told he would load the powder and pack the shot. Without time to stop and think, he just- did. No thought behind it as he went as fast as he could.

Leon is suddenly thrown back as his position is overrun by attackers. Some draw swords to fight in melee but most scramble to their feet trying to get to the walls. That’s where they would take their next position. In the panic, many would simply run without regard as to what or who they may trample…

“No! Please!”

As people rush to get to the walls, Leon is pelted by armored boots and dropped weapons. He tries to shelter himself the best he can, but there was just too much. Several blows were dealt to his body and head. As the crowd lightened, he would drag himself up to the walls letting out a sigh before he there was a sudden, sharp pain in his neck and the world went dark

“I think he’ll make it, but only time will tell”

Leon wakes up in some new land. Around him nurses tend to other injured as he looks around, as he does so, one comes up to him “Quite the nap that was Mister… Leon” He would look at the lady puzzled “Wrong”. The nurse, visibly confused, would look at him “Wrong? Mister Leon I can ass-" "Nepareizs.” There is a moment of silence between the two before Nepareizs would stand up and head to leave “Sorry lass, but to stay is to pay, and I” he turns out his pockets “Have no money!” he would give an exaggerated bow before running out of the room leaving the occupants confused

-Nepareizs-

After that, he was a very outgoing man. He loved fun, and a little mischief here and there. He would end up saving Norland from a Falorian pirate! With the new patch of land above the old mori encampment, of course there would be villains, so there would need to heroes to protect those who where weak! And thus became the Great Alliance! Members from all nations would come together to push the bandits into the desert where they belong! Many victories were won in the name of the Great Alliance, but once there were no more bandits to force out, the group dissolved, but there was still more to do! On his way to look for another quest, he followed a group of people into a town called Tennallar Talonnii.

For reasons unknown to Nel, they would explode in anger. Seeing this, he would try to leave, but was followed outside where he was tied up and accused of being part of Redclyf. He would try to tell them about Norland, but was instead bound and gagged. He was then exported to The Pit where some would offer to cut the ropes, as they knew him but Nel didn’t want to ruin their stuff. He wasn’t a pirate who stole and destroyed, he was a hero who gave and protected!

Thus he loosened the ropes the best he could and, using his feet to propel himself, took a boat back to them offering to return it, but was told they had no use for it, so he went to leave but was stopped and stabbed in the chest. If it were for Farian’s quick thinking, he would have died in that river, but thankfully, he was boated away, drug ashore, and bandaged.

“Why would they do this?” he thought. “I didn’t do anything to them, and yet they hate me…” Nel had never met such a group before, but he knew he didn’t like it, so he came up with a new quest: Make Tennallar Talonnii like me!

Rumil addresses a crowd telling them what happened to Nel

So he set off carefully sneaking into the Tennallar Talonii camp. He would go feed their animals, wash their horses, and overall clean up their camp. After he was done, he would quietly sneak out leaving notes on what he had done, so they wouldn’t be confused when they saw what happened, and of course so they might eventually come around to like Nel, but this hope was short lived. On his second round inside, he was jumped by 5 members, one of which pointed out that he had slept in someone’s bed, so they decided they should execute Nel. One started to chase him around the camp as he desperately tried to escape pleading that he would never come back, but suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his leg. He collapsed seeing one had thrown a dagger at him.
As he screamed out, he called his mother, Rumil, sat and watched. Most would have tried to intervene, but there was no way to help Nel without getting themself killed with him. One had to live to let others know the atrocity that had just been committed. As sad as it was, Nel would have to die, so that others would know who the Tennallar Talonii were, and what they had done. As he begged for his life, they would taunt him before cutting his tongue out, watching as Nel drowned in his own blood. They would laugh as though this were some sort of sick game they played, and all too long after the torture, Nel would succumb to his injuries finally finding a small bit of peace as he takes his place beside the All-Father. As they started to decide who got to keep which parts of the body, there was nothing I could do...

There sat a serpent eyed Elfess within the Tennalar Tavern, observing the younger members of the Talonii in idle. Distantly she reminisced on the new conflict at hand. Of the Norlander who had broken into their Holdings four times, disregarding their warnings, and returned a fourth. Of the Human who stabbed one of Llora's oem'ii who attempted to lead him out. She did not laugh then, nor did she now in the small tavern. With a side-wards glance to her Fiancee -- when the words of Rumil shared with the Ashen state reached the Talonii -- Valentina would stand. When that moment came, she would stop at nothing to protect those she claimed as hers.

Loys found himself traveling along the roads of Failor days after the news reached him. These moments were reminiscent of the times before he planted his roots in Norland. Though, in this case, rather than times of adventure these were of solace. Even though Leon and Loys hadn't spoken too often they were still brothers by the covenant made between Loys, Norland, and the Kvitravns. The Siege of Savoy had proven Leon a capable fighter and compatriot. "So why must this happen to such a man," Loys pondered to himself with a few idle utterances in-between his thoughts.

"Surely there is something deeper than this. A reasoning the All-Father hasn't provided, yet." With resolve in his heart and a clear direction for his steps he rode off to discover the truth of his brother's death, for a killing such as this required rectification.

Piper shudders as Rumil recounts this tale. She couldn't recall ever meeting Nel, but the events of his death shook her to her core. She mutters aloud, "That's horrible. Who would do such a thing?"

Theroden sits alone with his thoughts, the only sound being the rhythmic scrape of a whetstone against the sword he holds. Words were not needed in cases such as this. The old ways were clear on what action needed to taken. A debt of vengeance owed.

Dominic Kvitravn, Father of the now-deceased Leon, hides his emotions publicly upon discovering the death of his secondborn Son. Once he was in private, the Chieftain allowed his emotions to overcome him as he removed his helmet from his head. "Milki...My Wife...I am sorry. I could not protect our boy." After regaining his composure, Dominic took a deep breath and looked down upon the helmet in his hands "But, no matter our Son's alleged crimes, I can avenge him. I will see you both soon, my love." The aging Kvitravn placed his helmet back upon his head, then went off to find his surviving Sons and Brother. @SirSniffins @Pancho

The light skinned elf with black and blue armor shook his head upon learning of his murdered Kinsmen, a Blooded son of Norland, a Devout follower of the All-Father, and clanned member of the Kvitravn. "The Father has gained a mighty soul indeed, a great gain for our ancestors and a great bane for the Darkness that consumes..." he says smiling, looking skyward as the light rain plinks off his armor, causing his darkened plate to glisten in the sunlight. The elf turns his attention back to reality, a frown taking hold of his helmed face "One would imagine that evildoers would think twice seeing the utter destruction the canniballistic baby killers brought upon Redclyff, fortunately the banners of the Loyal, Good, Brave, Triumphant, and Qualified Peoples of Failor are still prepared to do battle after the cowards of Redclyff fled justice, crying and quaking as they did so." The elf slams his armored fist down hard upon his palm a determination of fury radiating from his presence "The justice of the Father will be delivered for this transgression."

Grimm pauses for a moment as he trudges through the woods, injured and limping from prior confrontations. He takes the time to mourn the loss of such a young soul-one that had always been a constant in his life since he showed up. "All-Father guide you...fly high, Leon Kvitravn. Fly high, and never look back." Having said his piece, he continues to push on through the woods, determined to reunite with his countrymen, where he can finally mourn for Leon without having to worry about surviving first.

It was some time before the news reached Marol. She had been there when the young man had initially been accused of being a part of Redclyf and had tried to vouch for him, though that may have only further incriminated him given her association. Before that, she had interacted with him a few times and found his joyful presence to be quite pleasant. Upon hearing of his death, she sunk to the ground of her little campsite and began to weep for the loss of such a pure soul. While she harbored little fondness in her heart for Norland, she still wished them luck in their endeavors against Tennallar Talonnii. She then moved toward the campfire, rabbit pelt and sewing needle in hand, and quietly began sewing a quilt piece in Nel's honor.

Spoiler

I have hidden a number of replies that are only OOC text in unspoilered format which shouldn't be aggregating on a post on a roleplay sub-forum, especially being used to voice displeasure with other players. I am not giving out warnings in this particular instance, but I would highly suggest reaching out and engaging in interpersonal conversation to redress your grievances or to talk through your concerns.

Dazen Zantiln wondered if anyone truly cared about this man as he noticed the rotting corpse still lay on the Tennallar bridge. "Odd thing, to let your blood rot outside a strangers fortress... perhaps they really did just want an excuse to wet their blades." The Elf mused to himself as he passed by.
