ANNOUNCEMENT OF PASSING

Penned by HH the Prince of Merryweather & HRH the Dowager Lady of Alba

In the year of our Lord, 1935

Following the discovery of HH, the Prince of Merryweather, it is with great sorrow that we, the Royal House of Alstion, announce the passing of our Crown Prince, Henry Charles.

The remains of the Lord Alba were carefully returned to the Hand of Horen where the Household could pay their respects. With a passing such as this, the Royal House requests a mourning period of five months following the death of our beloved Prince and heir, and subsequently vigils shall be held in the coming months.

With the passing of the Lord of Alba, the right of succession to the throne passed to his firstborn son, Edmund Alexander Alstion. May God grant our Prince safe passage to his eternal garden.

An official funeral shall take place on the 5th of Tobias’ Bounty in the year of our Lord, 1935.

Signed,

HIS HIGHNESS, Heinrich II Lothar von Alstreim, Prince of Merryweather

HER ROYAL HIGHNESS, Adela Olympe of High Peak, the Lady of Alba

“To think the young Knyaz I watched meander the streets of Vienne as a boy who grew into a great friend and future King now gone before his time.. it is unthinkable. May Godanistan watch over his children, and family.” Commented Ser Jan Ivanovich.

As the Count of Stassion delivered his condolences to the Lady of Alba, he pondered as he roamed the streets of Whitespire alongside his bannerman Sarah Crow, "A father should never have to bury a son, may the White Flame watch over the Royal Family of Aaun and let us aid our neighbors in their time of need."

Heinrich II Lothar sat in his office with his face buried in his hands. He thought of all the good times he shared with his cousin back in Almaris and here, in Aevos. Despite the memories being happy he did not smile but instead, in the complete silence of his office, the Alstreim sobbed...

Marlene Von Alstreim’s own angst-derived grief seemed to melt away as she heard the cries of woman and children echo throughout the Hand of Horen. For a second, she pictured the pose of the Lady Alba standing in her uncles office just hours prior. Her fist slammed against the desk.

Isavella Jazloviecki bowed her head upon hearing the news of yet another loss. "..Poor Edith." She whispered, signing the lorraine.

Gawyn stared at the letter with a placid expression, unsure what to make of the news. Though he suspected the Prince had been losing himself for a while, it still came as a surprise. He prayed for the Prince.

The, now dowagered, Lady of Alba stood alongside the Prince of Merryweather as he delivered the news unto a group of unsuspecting courtiers. Within her, not only was her husband lost, but the future they prepared for together. Now all that was left of it were the two children they sired, the elder of the pair swaddled within her arms..

The palace of Aaun was eerily quiet following the death of the Lord of Alba. The only sound that echoed through the upper chambers being that of a weeping mother. Edith sat in a chair by the hearth, clutching an item of her son's, his first circlet. It is likely that there would be some time before the aging Reinmaren would emerge from the royal chambers but for the time being she spent her time in mourning of the loss of one of her twin children.

The youngest of King James’s children loitered at the highest level of the hand of Horen, the frigid atmospheric air reddening her cheeks. Augusta Charlotte, a young woman in her twenties, then, had always admired her eldest brother, though their difference in age left them little in common. She pondered whether or not, if the Prince had lived longer, they would have become closer, in due time. Her thoughts would consume her for a while, her ring-clad index finger fidgeting with each gust of wind that rustled by.

Cunimund hal'Cingedoz, Holly hal'Cingedoz, & Morgause hal'Hrundzmar entered the Hand of Horen, that white-spired palace in Whitespire, to find men and women weeping and consoling one another. The excitement of the tribesmen faded, extinguished with the anguish exhibited by Prince Heinrich Lothar and all those present. They had descended the heights of the tall hill branching from the Landknette Mountains where their runestone stood, after the Cingedoz finished their first thingoz (assembly) in Aevos, to find a crowd in mourning and news worth mourning. They deemed it wholly inappropriate to inform the Prince the result of their thingoz, to seek settlement somewhere within Aaun, and dispersed with heads low and Cunimund explaining to the other two his personal experience with the good Prince Henry.
