“Oh, so it was not a mistake” commented Aldrik, happy for the clarification.

An avocado-toast eating man reeled at the news, slapping his knee with a ring-clad hand. He nearly choked on a glob of guac as he cackled, tears pricking his only eye.

"Serves them right for that egregious letter!" John Augustus snickered. "Look at this, mi tesoro." He went to hand the letter over to Rhys, his golden grills shining in the lanternlight.

Irena Kortrevich resolves herself to work harder than any Kortrevich before her.

Josefina Barclay sighs softly, stroking a finger across a small frame, holding a familiar portrait.

Timofei Petrovich, The Grand Alderman and Master of The Pantry, had seen this coming years in advance and thinks anyone who believed this was anything new should really keep up else they get left in the dark... "If history truly does tend to repeat itself, the Bulls of Koravia will only rise from the mud as stronger beasts, and the new herd shall lead the effort forth."

The Queen of Haense - Amaya Milena, who too bears the blood of the bull, regards the news solemnly -

. . though as she lights a candle within her chambers that eve, she is reminded of the spark that the House Kortrevich carries so fervently.

"Gosh. . ." Whispered the Princess Astronomer, passing the missive over to her husband, Prince Nikolas of Haense. "You don't think this is because of that dinner, do you?"

"Huh?"

He glanced to the man, and then about his & Rhys' tower, before jutting a hand to the ladder beneath them. "Get out of our house!?!"

Timofei waved his hand across his face and said "You can't see me" and then promptly exits, most likely very much under the spell of cactus green...

John woke in a cold sweat, holding a hand to his forehead. Had it all been a dream? "Mein gotte ... it's the Haense-mancers, theyve bewitched me, Rhys ..." he wept.

A witch of eld wanders the woods near the Haeseni walls, snatching up a discarded missive in front of her cabin. Scrunching up her features, her scarred visage could only be described as ... simply making a face.

The soul of Ser Nikolai Mikhail flickered somewhere in his vessel. Should the news grace him, the spark would turn to a roaring flame. Who knows what it would mean.

Klara Miray however pressed her lips thin as she read through the missive. She thought of the Bulls she once cared so deeply for, her thumb pushing around the ring that bore the house's sigil, a ring once fit for a queen.

Nikolas examined the formal missive with a hint of suspicion in his eyes as he accepted it from his wife. The seasoned prince let out a sigh, his voice conveying a mixture of skepticism and contemplation, "I'd be inclined to believe that such weighty decisions are rarely influenced by isolated incidents. There's likely more to the story."

Nonetheless, Nikolas couldn't help but ponder whether his recent clash with the Matriarch during that rather tense family dinner had played a role, particularly given the outcome of their duel. His brows furrowed slightly, a sign of his internal musings, as he considered the possibility of House Kortrevich nursing a grudge or seeking some form of payback. However, instead of fear, an almost eager gleam flickered in his gaze. If change was in the air and challenges were brewing, he wasn't one to shy away. The notion of confronting a potentially vengeful house only heightened his readiness for whatever might lie ahead.

As his mind ventured back into history, he recalled a dispute from his youth, at the midst of night, many a year ago, where he stood victorious over a defeated Vladrick Kortrevich. Back then, Nikolas had worried that the wrath of a house might just befall him, leaving him hopeless in defense. But now he almost welcomed the thought, a glint of a smile touching his lips. For Nikolas, the prospect of a challenge and the intrigue of conflict were as alluring as ever, a fire that had only grown with time.

A rat would sneak into John's home and eat all the avacaodos and toast.

If she could, Esmée Gabrielle Kortrevich would be rolling over in her grave.

Dimirti Kortrevich let out a gasp that nearly killed him. "Can't believe he would disgrace his mother like that! Ungrateful son! HE CARRIES THE SAME BLOOD AS US!" The old disgusted man couldn't be bothered anymore and went back to sleep, waiting for his own doom.

And for the lost triplet somewhere in the lands of the swamp, read the missive with an eyeroll. "Stupid nobles," hissed Nika Kortrevich. "This is why I stole the hand!"
