Mega badass, had his hand removed and replaced it by a cleaver. I think he had a big impact on the renatus era roleplay.

Darius was a legend. What a character. From

Maer of Belvitz to knight

I haven’t been around long enough to know most of the knightly figures on LOTC, and with the last year a half since I joined there was a notable decrease in honorable or respectable knights at least by way of my interactions with them. If I had to pick someone I interacted with or knew about to be the “best Knight” in recent history I’d have to (I absolutely am not glazing, do not accuse me of this it’s from my interactions) pick Sir Gaspard.

Sir Gaspard, despite what fake allegations exist composed by salty individuals about random “mass murders” that seem more like modern political jests at actual tragedies, was a good man. As a noob I was a very lowly noble basically on par with a peasant character and definitely of less status than a rich peasant, and the Duke of a nation dying in war still treated my character with utmost respect, in a way formulating my experience as a noob and permanently aligning me on an OOC level with anything @M1919did. This is not to say that I wouldn’t take conflict with him in character if it made sense but just that I think it was an excellent example of how a Nation Leader should act.

Regardless this Knight was put into a position he did not want, in a similar vein to many historical figures, he stood by what he believed in even when it meant that he would be excommunicated. He stood by his people until the Great Betrayal of the Adunian Snake Spy Master Evil Warlock @Noobliuscurse be upon his name that takes all of the treasury to IDUNIA (Satanic Nation spoke about in Revelation) and never harmed innocents. At every roleplay session he would act in a knightly manner and behave according to a code of ethics he set out, he never backed down from a challenge and had a great deal of awesome interactions and quotes. Importantly he never betrayed his code of ethics as most knights I’ve interacted with on the server have.

It was a genuinely amazing experience to be Knighted by him alongside my counterpart @FoogThe2stndand an enjoyable time as a noob despite the death of what I called my First Nation. I know Hugh doesn’t care for him much anymore and there are certain people who fangirled him into a Reddit tier meme where liking Sir Gaspard can at some times be on par with the crying Star Wars soy guy but I still hold the character in high regard and his player to be one of the best storytellers on LOTC.

I vote Ser Uther Pendraic @SimplySeopurely out of personal bias.

Holy Ser MacSkaul, because he was one of my mentors, the one who taught me all it meant to be a Knight, and was my introduction to the wider world of Canonism, for better or worse. Almost everything Estevot is when it comes to how he approaches Canonism, he learned from good old Lug. I miss him.

Ser Milonir of Whitehall, Hero of the Petra ™️is probably one of my favorite knights that I've ever gotten to interact with. I think one of my favorite memories of him is most the girls of Balian flocking to him during the social season. He was a charmer despite his looks.

Or when he had beef with a glowing baby because children aren't meant to be magical. He is a character that I think about at least once a week; which to me says a lot.

There are also the Hyspian knights that come to mind, Ser Emil @johnnydeath6, Ser Cirilla @_mady07, Ser Leomonte @MonteGiant, and Ser-King Julian @teeylin. All fanastic, rich, driven characters. There is also Anacleta @resurectionistwho is techinally a squire, so I'd like to have them as an honorible mention here.

Spoiler

A character I'd love to put on this list would have been my warrior Princess, Verónica Weiss.
Sadly, I never followed through on actually making her a knight. I was told I shouldn't/it wouldn't ever happen, it's one of my biggest regrets of her story. She is a knight in my heart though, a fighter till the last.

If you'd like to read about Hyspian knights @tadabug2000has made three fanastic posts

ser trende and ser avenel r the two i think of, trende as the model of a pvper knight and avenel as the model of a lectoid magi-lore knight, that remain pretty unmatched and will likely remain so for the foreseeable future.

If we're putting all jokes aside and going pure LotC history, it is going to be Ser Peter Chivay. He and his brother formed the White Rose and was the tip of the spear for the establishment and expansion of the original Orenian Empires. This was during the height of the Dwarves, the OG eras of the Flays & Teutons, and they still were massive standouts. They came back in 2014 after the Exodus to form the Third Orenian Empire simply by showing up, a 200 man rally materializing out of nothing.

The reason why Oren as a name is as recognizable as it is owes largely to their exploits.
