For it is this month that hosted the wondrous of matches, that being between the Baron PETER ROVARA and the new Baroness-Consort DIANA ROVARE (formerly Roa) unifying the houses who had long been in such friendship. Though the true ceremony was privately held for the sake of privacy and finalizing the details of the alliance. With such finally being completed, the newly expanded household has decided to hold a feast to commemorate the unity and the newlyweds within the newly restored Banquet Hall at Castle Oakenwald. ✧⥼─────────────────────⥽ ⚜ ⥼─────────────────────⥽✧ The Barony of Oakenwald cordially invites: ✧⥼─────────────────────⥽✧ His Majesty, EAROSLAV I, Grand Prince of Ravenmire, and his Royal Pedigree His Grace, CONSTANTINE MARNA, Prince of Sedan, and his Noble Pedigree His Grace, GODEFROY D’AMAURY, Count of the Rhoswood, and his Noble Pedigree His Lordship, GASPARD WINBURGH, Baron of the Isles, and his Noble Pedigree Master, Cesare Roa, Partrician of House Roa, and his Pedigree Master, Trevor Abbot, Partrician of House Abbot, and his Pedigree Signore, Theodoros di Savoie, and his Pedigree Her Ladyship, Ember Muh’nel, and her Noble Pedigree His Lordship, Baldric Vourkehardt, and his Noble Pedigree ✧⥼─────────────────────⥽ ⚜ ⥼─────────────────────⥽✧ HIS LORDSHIP, Peter Rovare, Baron of the Oakenwald, Lord of the Salvians, Head of House Rovare, and Protector of the Salvian People and the Hamlet of Oakhaven HER LADYSHIP, Diane Roa-Rovare, Baroness-Consort of the Oakenwald, Mistress of Fort Roa and Lady of Oakhaven and the Salvians MASTER, Cesare Roa, Castellan of Castle Oakenwald, Partrician of House Roa, and Master of Fort Roa

Therefore, with consultation of the rest of House Alessandria (Excluding the disgraced Elijah di Alessandria, for it is he who caused the decline of the house with his mismanagement of the Duchy of Valenza) it has been decided to reform the house of Alessandria into House Rovare, this because the legacy has been reforged in the family's new home of Ravenmire and the Barony of Oakenwald, with the house that was once led by Elijah being entirely unrecognizable from its current iteration. Alongside this, any claim to Alessandria titles is relinquished by the entire house, being the Lordship of Alessandria and the Duchy of Valenza, and these titles shall henceforth be considered destroyed. ✧⥼─────────────────────⥽ ⚜ ⥼─────────────────────⥽✧ HIS LORDSHIP, Peter Rovare, Baron of the Oakenwald, Lord of the Salvians, Head of House Rovare, and Protector of the Salvian People and the Hamlet of Oakhaven

There comes a need for a family to reside within and operate the Tavern of Oakhaven, a prime location right off the Prince’s Road in the heart of the Pontifical States. Therefore, the Baron has seen fit to open this opportunity to wish to come reside in the new land, the building itself being decorated on the lower floor with an upper story open to decoration by whoever ends up taking over the Tavern. (Temporarily called the Golden Acorn) The initial price for the occupation of the Tavern shall be 30 mina, and shall be tax free for the first 4 Saints Weeks of its existence, after which point it shall cost 25 mina per Saints Week. Furthermore, should a family take up this duty, the Head of Household shall be eligible for the position of Yeoman of Oakhaven after 4 weeks of residence. BOYS WILL BE BOYS | Louis' Perspective
Based1Salmon replied to Jihnyny's topic in Human Realms & Culture
As Peter di Salvo, the Lord of Oakenwald reads the missive he chuckles, looking at the bloody handkerchief in the heap on the ground with his surcoat and gambesson, yet to be taken to the wash by the pages. "He's a good lad, and he put up a good fight. Ave Savoy, may peace favor them" the lord says to noone in particular, looking to his side. Suddenly feeling the impact of having no son of his own to bring him pride. -

The Baron in question, Peter di Salvo, reads over the rebuttal and quickly pens a reply. To Her Chefness, Amadea of Balian I write to clarify a concern you had within your response to Chef Owyn's original treatise. In regards to the Musin comparison it has been measured by numerous professionals from across Aevos (both in the areas of medicine and natural philosophy) have estimated the intelligence of Lady Elynora af Brasca and her followers to be below the average Musin by a wide margin. This has dragged the measured intelligence of the average Salvian to approximately the level of your average Musin. Otherwise this was an excellent read. With Regards, Peter Alessandria di Salvo, Baron of the Oakenwald, Lord of the Salvians, and Protector of the Salvian People -

Based1Salmon replied to HeyitsNano's topic in Grand Principality of Ravenmire
The Baron in question (Peter di Salvo) sends the young Prince a gift, a cage containing a dozen rats caught from the ruins of Castle Oakenwald so that he may have subjects for further experimentation. "An interesting concept, I can only hope that he proves correct however." Following this, Peter trims his gray hairs and snacks on some cheese. -
Lord Peter di Salvo, Baron of the Oakenwald, Lord of the Salvians, and Protector of the Salvian People, had no part in creating this summons.

Peter di Salvo sits behind his desk, across from Wayne, honing his longsword after the battle. "Antium was not there. Ultio was there, he may follow the Pauper Duchess, but I saw no banners, no colors. Ultio came out of honor, yet Elynora was nowhere to be found. Where was Elynora af Brasca? The Pauper Duchess of Antium demands an audience and offers friendship, but doesnt come when duty calls?" Peter then sighs and slumps down upon the carved marble chair. A leader should never rest easily, especially in times of war. So why did Elynora? -
Standing Orders for the Salvan State Army Following the Dissolution of the Republic Orders signed and Issued on 19th of Deep Cold, SA 220 Contextualization: With the dissolution of the Government of Salvo, and the relinquishment of the title of President, and then First Consul of Salvo, Duchess Elynora Maude af Brasca had not seen fit to disband the Salvan State Army, leaving General Peter Alessandria as the commander-in-chief of the Salvan State Army. Declaration of the Martial State: Following the dissolution of the Republic, and the excommunication levied against the Salvian Successor State under Mitch McCanon, the General has decreed that the old lands of Salvo are at present forfeit, however, the Salvian people and their culture must be preserved and safeguarded against all threats and turmoil. With this, the Salvian Martial Regency (SMR for short) has been declared, encompassing all remnants of the Salvan State Army and any Salvian Civilians who wish for the protection of the army, the purpose of the Regency being to safeguard the Salvian people and culture until such a time that a permanent home is found, assimilation is achieved, or the Regency is otherwise deemed unnecessary. The SMR shall be a military government, headed by General Peter Alessandria, who has seen fit to adopt the title of Lord of Alessandria (a previously defunct title) for the duration of the regency. Declaration of Intention: The SMR shall never stake a claim to any land (besides that which may be granted as part of reintegration). Its only goal shall be the protection of the Salvian people. The facilitation of Salvian reintegration be it in its original lands of the Pontifical States, under the guide of Elynora af Brasca, or some other nation. All titles created by the SMR shall only last for the duration that the SMR lasted unless reconfirmed by the assimilating power or individual. The only exception to this is “Protector of the Salvian People” which shall be retained by General Peter and any successor he may have until such a time the Salvian People no longer need a protector. To The Lords and Governments of Aevos: The SMR is a peaceful entity, only dedicated to safeguarding the Salvian People. Any who wish to bar SMR residency within their borders need only send a bird, and any land where SMR takes up residency will have an envoy sent to the appropriate governing body to ensure all laws and the wishes of the populous are respected. To the Church of the Canon and the Pontifical States: The SMR maintains no ill will towards the Church regarding the events that led to the dissolution of Salvo, and if the Church would consent, diplomatic contact and discussion would be readily and wholeheartedly accepted. To Lady Elynora Maude af Brasca: Know this action is not a declaration of independence nor disgust. Rather, you have dissolved the nation on which I swore my oath, so now I must organize what is left lest it go away. Should you wish the military's assimilation into the nation that you are helping shepherd in, I await a bird or meeting with you to discuss reintegration. To all who may read this, Salvian, outlander, friend, foe, or otherwise. May God bless you all, and peace favor your sword. Signed and Issued by, His Excellency, General Peter Alessandria, Commander in Chief and General of the Salvan State Army, Colonel of the 1st Regiment of Salvo, Lord of Alessandria, and Protector of the Salvian People The Honorable, Captain Wayne Vyrona, Captain of the 1st Brigade of Salvo [ooc disclaimer: I'm posting this and then going immediately to bed, also this is not an ooc move against anyone, this is entirely in roleplay and that's exactly what I'm going to say to all the angry dms I wake up to] [ooc disclaimer 2: I suck at formatting]

The Ivöri Ministry of Letters On Being a Gentleman. Published by: Peter di Alessndria Issued on the 10th of Heaven’s Folly in the Year of our Lord 2010. FOREWORD On the continent of Aevos, and the lands the descendants have inhabited beforehand, there has always been a legally enforced class system amongst most nations with a rather standard array of classes with minor variations. These classes typically include the Rulers of the Realm and their heirs (Kings, Queens, Sovereign Princes, Sovereign Princesses, Grand Dukes, Grand Duchesses, etc.), the remainder of the Royal Families, The Peerage of the Realm (Dukes, Counts, Viscounts, Barons, Lords, their cultural variations, etc,) the Knightly class (sometimes augmented by Dames, High Military Officers, and prominent families in which case it is referred to as the gentry,) the Freemen, and finally the Serf class. There of course exists variations such as the Reinmarian Tribes, the Waldenian Electors, the Elven Houses, and so on, however a commonality among these classes is that each has a specific set of legal rights, privileges, addresses, and obligations by which it must abide and be presented. In this treatise, I propose not creating a new class, but a new set of behaviors by which men (and perhaps women) of these classes should abide and strive to hold themselves to. These men with such a code and the possible official place within society at some point will for this essay be referred to as Gentlemen (taken from the term Gentry, referring to the class typically between commoner and nobility.) What Embodies a Gentleman? A Gentleman, at his core, is a man who finds himself willingly shackled to his honor, courtesy, and etiquette. While a Gentleman's high birth or noble blood is not required, the pair certainly necessitates a Gentleman’s behavior and attitude towards life, for the highborn must be able to live up to their name in every sense of the word. A Gentleman must find himself honorable and courteous above all else, holding himself to the highest standards of conduct and performance no matter what he sets himself to, lest he is not worthy of the label. If a Gentleman finds himself in the guardianship of a young man, he must strive to impart Gentlemanly values and pride as well as ensure he is well educated in all aspects of life, from common to court to ensure the child continues the cycle of well educated chivalrous young men. When providing guardianship to a young woman (or in the periphery should their wife or a female relative be giving guardianship to a young woman) he shall be courteous and kind to her, ensuring she is properly instructed on how a Gentleman must behave around her so she knows when she faces mistreatment or insult. Alongside this, should a Gentleman take responsibility for a young woman with no means of her own, he finds himself responsible for ensuring she is provided a dowry and wedded to a respectable family unless the circumstances regarding the arrangement dictate otherwise. These values are most exemplified by the Ivöri people. An Ivöri Gentleman is first and foremost, a man of honor, faith, and service being bound by the tenants by which all must abide. The Ivöri spirit is that of good men from all cultures, who come together in a single unified codex and creed of honor and conduct that befits any good Canonist man and are indeed the foundations of being a Gentleman. A Short and Incomplete List of Expectations for a Gentleman: Be a good, practicing member of the Canonist Faith Uphold a high standard of Honor Be kind and courteous to all one comes across, so as not to give undeserved insult To never break one's word To be proficient at the Gentlemanly arts of swordplay and jousting to resolve any insults or violations of honor or a Gentleman’s good name relating to another Gentleman The ability to maintain respectable standards of living for himself and any who are a part of his household To ensure his obligations both legal and moral to his nation and the Church are met Always keep in mind his good name and reputation when acting and/or speaking A Gentleman shall never lie. Who Qualifies as a Gentleman? Theoretically, any man could be a Gentleman as it is dictated by his behavior. However, any man who finds himself in a place of authority be it Government, Military, Education, or otherwise would do well to uphold the standards of Gentlemanly Conduct. This goes as well for wealthy merchants and their sons, knights, and their sons, as well as nobles and their sons, also encompassing any men whose families hold the land. Royals, concerning this, shall be allowed some slack for their status, however, they should strive to be the pinnacle of Gentlemanly Conduct for it is they who society looks to for its examples. On Dueling: Dueling is a practice as old as honor itself, for dueling is the method by which one may defend their honor and innocence be it in Courts of Public Opinion or the much less severe Court of Law. While some see the practice as antiquated and barbaric, dueling serves as a practice by which to uphold order and good Canonist values. For this, we might look to the tenets of the Ivöri Creed, namely the second “Thou shall disavow chaos and champion order” a creed which Gentlemen especially should be in the highest regard as Gentlemen are the backbone of society, and if they fail to maintain order, there is no hope of maintaining it in the rest of society. The final tenet comes to embody the spirit of the Gentlemen as “thou shalt suffer no evil” for what is a Gentlemen if not a protector of the weak and innocent and shield against chaos and corruption? The method by which Gentlemen must hold to these tenets is given by the eighth tenet, “Thou shalt honor the blade and forgo witchcraft” This provides the legal basis for dueling and the backbone on which Gentlemen may rely. No true man of any race should find themselves wielding foul sorcery or witchcraft of any sort, but Gentlemen most of all must hold to steel, for it is the most honest of the metals God has seen fit to give unto his children. Though with this, there are some basic rules by which Gentlemen must abide for dueling: A Gentleman must never offer a challenge to duel unless sufficient insult or injury to honor has been dealt in return. A Gentleman must never offer a challenge to a woman, child, or invalid and it is considered exceptionally bad form for a veteran soldier or experienced duelist to offer a challenge to their lessers, as well as for a man of higher status to challenge a man of lower status. A Gentleman must never refuse a challenge offered for a valid reason. A Gentleman shall duel to first blood in all matters except for the most dire. The time and place of the duel shall be decided by the challenged. All communication after the offer of challenge shall be done either by solicitors, a neutral party, or the seconds of the Gentlemen who are dueling. Never by the Gentlemen themselves. Upon the cessation of the duel, the winner of the challenge shall be considered correct in the matter and all further disagreement, discussion, and feud between the 2 shall cease. On Gentleman Officers: Gentlemen finding themselves in positions of authority in a military context must hold themselves to a certain standard of conduct surpassing that of a normal Gentleman, for a Gentleman of command should adopt the roles of role model, educator, protector, master, and commander. A Gentleman must strive to ensure that all Gentlemen under his command uphold the highest standards of conduct and dignity and that the men under his command are on the path to becoming Gentlemen. A Gentleman Officer must maintain regular correspondence with his friends, family, and colleagues to ensure he is kept up to date on society events, for ignorance and lack of manners are never to be excused, no matter where a Gentleman finds himself stationed. Alongside this, a Gentleman shall keep a good table, befitting his rank and personal financial status as well as maintain respectable stores of wine, tea, and coffee as well as cigars to present society to his men and colleagues even in the most remote postings in the service. This being said, a Gentleman shall be responsible for feasting their men on special occasions and in the wake of major victories and other such achievements, however, should rations be running short, a Gentleman shall be the first to volunteer to adopt short rations and suffrage for the sake of morale and his integrity. One must keep in mind that a Gentleman and any Ivöri man must learn to embrace hardship, for it builds strength and character. IN NOMINE DEI, His Excellency, Peter di Alessandria, Minister of Letters, Ehrengarde of the Ivory Company
