  4. Hastily drawn illustrations of an individual in armor accompany a plea of sorts, posted about various cities in Axios. - Greetings denizens of Axios, I am but a construct of Arcane nature - an Atronach, unlike my Golem brethren I require an occasional charge so that I may remain functional. As I write this I am nearing my mana reserves, my motions will continue to grow rigid until my core gives way and I crumble amongst the ground below - lifeless. My plea is this - I seek one who knows the art of Transfiguration to recharge my Mana Gem to its peak; as I have no currency, I will become a temporary servant for the individual in question, a few of my current skills are as follows. - - Formidable fighter of the blade as well of Telekinesis. - Veteran laborer in the art of Woodworking. - Suitable bodyguard for any individual or one to simply converse with. These are but few of my easily marketable skills. - Should you be able to recharge my Mana Gem with Transfiguration, please tack a response below or send me a bird ((AdeptusAstartes)) and I will attempt to reply, posthaste.

  6. “The dead don’t sleep - do they?” ~’;[];’~ Whilst the Necrotic skirmishes seemed to be scarce and far between in recent times, one would be foolish to simply think they have subsided - for instead their efforts suggest something else is being focused. Northwards of Bastion, the forces of Mordring have enveloped into a near constant state of toil in the recent months, - the clatter of hammers, the felling of trees. A multitude of stonework forts have been hastily set amongst the frozen wastes, erected to stand as bastions against the Westerlands below. Those associated with the Sunless Sanctum would perchance spot a crude task board of sorts in the massive stronghold just outside. ~’;[];’~ Quest board - Sunless Sanctum ((Keep in mind that the forces of Mordring are very much able to be halted by those of the Westerlands as they attempt to complete these tasks)) Lumber stores With all this construction, we have nearly run out on our stock of wood several times, gather a suitable group and tread southwards. Once you cross the winding river beginning felling the tundra trees, take heed - do not be surprised if those of the Westerlands discover and seek to halt you, deal with them as necessarily, but focus on the task on hand. Rewards: Further arms and armor are construed in our vast forges, allowing us to outfit further soldiers in greater equipment. Grumbling Ghouls While it is true that our workers and soldiers do not require sleep, though they do require sustenance to keep toiling in whatever we command them to do. We must ensure they are fed lest the Ghouls fall into a maddened state of hunger and our productivity drops to near nothing. The Ghouls do not heed our words in this state - so how are we to command an army on its empty stomach? Go forth to wherever you are able to capture those of mortal flesh, bring them back to our frozen lands and the Ghouls will be fed accordingly. Rewards: A greater number of Ghouls are capable of being commanded with each captured individual, allowing us to attack with increased numbers - further soldiers. Clear the way Most of our fighting forces were withdrawn when we began to revert into this quickened state of production, because of this the Westerlands have been able to reclaim grounds which we previously held with ease. Opposing soldiers have taken to patrol about the pathways as well the various outposts. Gather a decently sized group and head out to dispatch whomever stands against you, clear a way for our forces to push forth whenever we deem fit. Rewards: Allows the Necrotics forces to push outwards with greater ease when the time comes to attack yet again, securing a further foothold. ~’;[];’~ OOC: All of these quests can be scheduled whenever desired, find the task board outside the Sanctum and onto the left. PM Skylez1 in advance so that I may prepare prior.

  11. Fair point, though I'd like to think it's balanced in a good fashion. Though, Dread knights are relentless beings, they do not have energy to expend as a living person would in one of these suits. In a few well placed strikes this protection is rendered useless as breaking Arcanium dispels magic, a broken plate would be similar to a leak in a car, slowly draining its fuel to make it unusable until repaired and recharged. These would be far and few in between as well, one could argue that Atronach armor is harder to construct as it requires a blacksmith, as well one with an MA of both Transfig and Atronach Forging. There are other shortcomings present with this armor such as reducing the bearer's voidal prowess, an individual in this armor is also susceptible to magics that Dread knights are not. There may be a few similar points, but this if anything is simply an unreliable exoskeleton.
  12. A crude sketch of ancient Atronach armor, rusted and mistreated. -=- Before you call this a meme, etcetera, please read it in its entirety. Little to nothing is currently known of these sizable suits of armor and the procedure to create one. Rare accounts suggest this armament was constructed in but a handful during the Anthos-Setherien conflict, though these claims are simply not feasible in near any regard. Few brief notes and scrawlings by various mages tell of this ‘armor’, large unwieldy bulwarks that are near impractical at best. The armament is also nicknamed Adeptus Armor as those involved in the process must be highly proficient or adept in their field to successfully manufacture the piece. The lengthy procedure begins with one well-versed in the art of blacksmithing. Somebody knowing of the arduous process could commission a blacksmith to forge the base, from perhaps a specific blueprint; a sizable steel suit of armor custom fitted to whoever requested it. The armor can be as bland or unique as one would desire, etchings or insignias able to be transcribed and so forth, allowing a great ordeal of aesthetic customization. Throughout the process a Transfigurationist must be present to seeth a considerable amount of mana into the bounds of the armor at a unique forge; transforming it into Arcanium. The individual well versed in Transfiguration must also have a thorough understanding of how Atronachs are created and how they function (MA in Atronach Forging). At this point, the armor can best be described as suitable for that of a large Uruk or short Olog, though the plating too thick and cumbersome to be worn currently, if made properly. The suit would take a great deal of ferrum to be made into steel alloy and promptly Arcanium, requiring near three dozen blocks of ferrum. A basic frame of Atronach Armor, largely incomplete, unfinished. At this intermediate point, a core must be assembled as well enchanted. This cylindrical core or power supply consists of a sizable mana gem, beset by Arcarum. The suit is known as Atronach armor because the procedure is very similar to the process of creating Arcane familiars. Oddly enough, the metallic suit does not have to be fully covering the body, with separated plates being allowed, though of course, the user would be vulnerable in these gaps, albeit granting greater mobility. One owning Adeptus armor may find it in their favor to have a mana obelisk for an efficient recharge, in order to keep the armor operational for long periods of time. A mage could imbue the core with mana, though at an uneven rate, losing more mana than the armor gaining. The core is usually supplied in the rear flank of the armor, perhaps encased in protective metal, lest the core is destroyed or its power exhausted to which the suit is rendered inert for the time being, the raw weight rendered brunt onto the person within, sure to cripple or crush if not unequipped near immediately. Atronach armor is without a doubt a great armament to have in your possession, though many may call it unwieldy or costly to construct and maintain, they are not wrong. An Adeptus armament is quite capable of granting the bearer a generous amount of protection, withstanding a larger amount of blows than that of regular plate mail, though while also sharing the weaknesses of plate as the armor does not by any means make you impervious to assaults. This hefty armament also grants the bearer but an increase in strength, much like that of telekinetic Atronachs, though arcane powers are weakened in the suit, reducing the expertise of one inside by a fair mark. One might also find the armor unfeasible for many tasks or purposes, not something being worn over great periods of time. An individual clashing against someone in Adeptus armor more than likely will have to circumvent the bearer, often not by physical force alone. Atronach armor strains the bearer’s movements to be more gradual than those without, but far less than that of Golems or other hefty constructs. Blunt force as with ordinary plate is more effective against Adeptus armor than the blade or other piercing weapons. Hammers, war axes, and clubs are just a few example of weaponry capable of destroying plates, should enough force be put behind them. Blunt force through weapons is not the only viable way, magics such as Earth evocation or Arcanism are also able to output blunt strikes, perhaps even moreso. As with any breaking or shattering of Arcanium, the mana within the broken plates seep outwards into the surrounding area, ((3 blocks)) to which any magic within is dispelled and unable to be casted for a short time ((2-3 emotes)) and hampers the casting of any voidal based magic afterwards for another brief span ((2-3 emotes)). An individual equipped in Atronach armor, animal skins about them, core in the overlying ‘backpack’. Adeptus armor by no means are able to be mass produced, by the sheer amount of metal, effort and time involved, each suit truly a monument of achievement. Most likely individuals in Atronach armor would be of some important standing, perhaps a king’s personal retinue or a high ranking general, these armaments too costly to be granted to lowly soldiers. Atronach armor can be sculpted at the beginning with a multitude of ideals in mind, perhaps a heavy, well-protected suit; or a lighter, though still somewhat defensible suit. In short, the armament is a manned Atronach, without a completely new individual. (Think Manned aircraft compared to Unmanned.) A magical artifact application must be created for each suit, to allow the LT to keep track of who has the suit(s) One may discover how to create Atronach Armor through experimentation, but by no means is it able to be mass produced, a singular suit per month is allowed per person. (3-4 max per) The majority of the process should be either overseen by an LT or the logs sent to one. The creation also has a mechanical requirement, a half stack of iron blocks to be given to an LT for destruction. This armor is not a license to power game your actions in any way, in fact, you are quite vulnerable in many ways despite greater protection, abusers will be stripped of their armament. The suit must be at least recharged once a week through general use, more often than that if used frequently. Atronach armor, of course, can not be worn on a long basis, providing far too great physical stress over lengthy periods of time, more suited for combat and then to unequip the armament. Able to be warded like near any other magically enchanted item. Grants the bearer a considerable amount of physical protection. Allows the individual greater strength, about that of an Orcish warrior at his peak. Customizable in both form and function, heavy, intermediate, light, and so on. Exoskeleton type ordeal. Costly to manufacture, requiring a proficient blacksmith, one versed in transfiguration and Arcane Familiar artificery alike, Arcanium, as well copious amounts of time and effort alike. Should the core be destroyed, the bearer will suffer the brunt of the armor’s weight, crushing or crippling if not be rid of hastily. The core must be recharged every so often. (Once a week, usually) Hampers the user’s Voidal prowess, reducing their expertise by a singular level. (One tier) Completely nullifies arcane magic in the vicinity when a plate is broken, even the individual within.(3 blocks, 2-3 emotes) While offering a good deal of protection and an increase in physical strength, one in this armor would find their movements slowed, though not to the point of constructs such as Paleknights or Golems. Blunt weaponry is far more effective against those in this armor, piercing weaponry such as swords doing little. This also, of course, extends to magics such as Earth evocation or others capable of blunt force. As with Atronachs, Fi magic is able to render the core inert, making the armor unusable until recharged. Still vulnerable to plenty of things including, but not limited to, lighting evocation, fire evocation, and many things common platemail is susceptible to, a living, breathing person is within the armor, after all. Changelog - The Warhammer 40k universe where I drew the concept from and attempted to thoroughly make it unique and feasible on LotC. Skylez1, writer. Phil (KnghtArtorias), greatly aided me in the process as he is extremely knowledge about Atronachs and the like and suggested I go a magical route instead of a more mechanical one. Whew, my second lore submission, while not as lengthy as my previous, I’m still quite proud of this piece as a whole. Any comments, criticisms or questions are welcomed.
  13. Kaevryn grows heavily annoyed as he reads of a supposedly new Affliction, circa 2017. Nah! All good, seems a bit short, though, my lore sub was around 4000+ words even before all the various edits. Might want to expand on it a bit more.
  14. Kaevryn accounts his loses and prepares yet again for what is to come. ((Good post, I wonder who wrote it?

Unknown, soldier of Mordring -[]- Necrotic forces, unlike any number seen in decades began to gather in large droves, awaiting.
