Thesseus Elibar’acal Name: Thesseus Elibar’acal Race: High Elven Age: 147 Status: Alive History: Thesseus’s childhood was a wild one. His family, scattered and disseminated, provided little guidance and social nourishment for the young elf, and Thesseus was driven to the sparring field and marksman’s range to find the acknowledgement his family could not provide. Being raised outside of Haelun’or gave Thesseus a broad range of experiences in the world his kin rarely got to see. He traded with dwarves, klomped with orcs, adventured with humans, and made it his goal to see as much of the world as he possibly could. At the brash young age of 60, he ran off with a band of mercenaries who had been hired to serve as auxiliaries in the War of the Beard. Thesseus fought in many skirmishes on the stone road, he himself fighting on horseback against the Krughai, becoming deathly familiar with the composite bow, sabre, and lance. After the War had run its course, Thesseus fell into a brief idle period of purposelessness, working his way through scores of taverns, card tables, brothels, and other cheap pleasures with the coin he had earned as a sellsword. Once he had worked with way through a good chunk of his finances, Thesseus took to the road once more, journeying through the many nations and provinces of Athera, and learning the ways of those who dwelt therein. After he had has his fill of travel, Thesseus once again picked up his blade and his shield, returning to the battlefield once again to fight as a sellsword in the Duke’s War. After being wounded at the Battle of the Forest by a stray arrow, Thesseus passed the hours by reading selections from various books he had pillaged from a small library, learning bits and pieces of the land’s history and folklore. He soon lost interest in this activity after his wound was healed by a cleric, allowing him to finish out the conflict, fighting in the conclusive skirmishes and finally, the Siege of Barrowyk, where he narrowly escaped with his life. Wealthy once again from the spoils of war, Thesseus cast his gaze homewards, making a futile attempt at settling in Haelun’or. During this endeavor he was reunited with his half brother, Talaeh, a reformist seeking to right the wrongs in Haelun’or. Thesseus fell comfortably into his shadow, dropping by every so often to offer advice to his relative. With the founding of the settlement of Fi’Ceru, Thesseus has found new purpose, using his sword to contrast the sharp quill of his half brother, and working to keep the city free from vermin and the various miscreants that roam the surrounding swamps.
