If anyone would consider giving Adunians a status as other minority groups much smaller then our own have status, please talk to me. :)

Instead of bonuses to lumberjack and woodworker (as they're only used for making burrows which is a very minor part of our RP), could the halflings possibly get a few of these things:

  • Speed buff/sneak buff - we're very nimble and agile, some of the best thieves
  • Increased shovel damage - very inconvenient to carry a sword purely for mobs when we use shovels in RP
  • Small tinker buff - we're an intelligent halfbreed and have many tinkers, not as much as goblins though
  • Bigger hunger bar / slower deteriorating hunger - we've always got food in our bellies

Halflings aren't really known for their prowess in chopping trees/woodworking and such, so it'd be great if we could have some of the things listed above instead. The blessing, although a very minor thing, is cool.

 

 

First, I'd like to start off by saying I think these are all great ideas. 

 

So for my recommendations:

 

  • I think the speed buff suits the Halfling race well, as their tiny size would make it easy for them to get around.
  • Maybe for a Halfling, a shovel can do the amount of damage that a vanilla axe does, possibly less. This would allow us to take care of mobs, but it wouldn't give us an advantage in a PvP situation.
  • I, personally like the slower hunger loss best. It makes sense that Orcs being so large would have to eat more, so Halflings should need to eat less.

 

Nope. Not without a client mod. Even if it were possible it wouldn't be done, too OP.

 

You point out that Halflings fitting in one block tall spaces would be too OP. However, is it not entirely realistic? Halflings are typically three feet (One block) tall. While I don't think that it would necessarily be a good thing, it'd be a completely realistic mechanic in my opinion.

 

And lastly, I have to admit that the High Elves having magic resistance and increased mana is a little much. There either needs to be a de-buff added (Which I find the better solution), or one of the two buffs removed. Even being a High Elven mage, it seems a bit OP.

Wow, so you guys actually changed the combat buff to affect PvP too for humans?

I'll probably get a warning but...screw you.

 

Not only do humans have most players, they also have most players involved in military, most players that does to PvP, most players that does raids.

Remove/debuff Purity of mind from highelves, or add -20% to blacksmithing or mining. Please, they already have Alchemy, enchanting and extra mana...

I said it would be too OP. Whether or not it is realistic is beside the point.

These seem quite unbalanced to be honest. Humans have the most flaws, while some have none at all.

 

Humans are the best for professions, how is that unbalanced? Oh you're only looking at the pvp aspect... Look at Halflings then.

Humans have zero flaws... in fact, they are objectively the best, having penalties in no skills and being able to master more. They have the best damage boost in combat if they're in a well-ordered team and they are the most numerous race.  Yep, they're the best.

 LOTC is not your competitive PVP ELO-based skill-reliant game or what have you, it's a RP server with PVP aspects that have been blown way out of proportion by over-competitive individuals. If you're saying that we should cater only to a player's personal PVP skill (an OOC factor) rather than any lore or common sense (an IC factor), then you're just as bad as the people you're criticizing who propose the opposite. You propose to throw out all lore and simply make LOTC's combat 'team deathmatch with different coloured skins and ears'. I don't put stock in that idea.

I'd prefer to have an equal mix of cohesive lore-based mechanics, with a player's skill at utilizing their racial mechanics being a contributing factor to success, rather than just pure PVP skill. 

Like something is going to change to prevent this anyways? The staff licks the boots of PvP defaulters to a point where it's not even fun.. Such a joke where things have gone ever since PvP default came to be. It's all going downhill and moving further and further away from being

"The number one role-play server"

Not until staff get's their **** together there is going to be bitching, crying about things and this constant bickering about PvP and "I am the best I wreck you". Get real staff. Ever since PvP default it's became just as you say, some Elo based game. You say this but as a staff member even more so a developer what is done to battle this? To me, a mere mortal not a single thumb is lifted to do anything against this. We are going to have buffs about PvP, plugins about PvP, rules about PvP, what's next? You get banned for refusing to PvP on a RP server.

 

There's just so much talk but nothing happens. Jeez.

Human's with all their % ****, are currently better smiths than Dwarves...

And their combat boost for every 4 humans, means they can 1 shot people, if there is enough of them.

Question: Why was this compiled from a survey? Surely a race's extra capabilities should be based on that race's biological advantages rather than on a poll of the race's playerbase at a specific point in time? A race's buffs should fit that race instinctively.
