The Arab Federation

 

From his office in Cairo,  head chairman Sedki Enan sat at his desk, over looking the city before him. He had brought the Arab world from a desperate struggle to one of peaceful cooperation. The scenario in the southern provinces had alarmed him, but Allah had brought forth a proposition to avoid war; a peace summit would be held in Lagos. The general packed his things and took the elevator to the first floor. Outside, a government vehicle waited to take him to Cairo International Airport where several aids waited to travel with him. There was still hope.

 

Some Time Later

 

Peace talks had gone quite slowly, to say the least. The only eventful happening that had resulted so far was the settlement of Middle Eastern issues, which Enan found funny seeing as the summit was expressly for the rising tension in Africa. In any case, a temporary cease fire had been called in Iran as negotiations were on going. Seeing this as a likely end to the Iranian conflict, the 100,000 man army returns to the motherland for a well earned rest. Constant combat and movement had worn the soldiers down and they would gladly take some time for leave.

 

In a show of sincerity, Federation soldiers are very slowly pulled from the Commonwealth defensive line and returned back to their original stations. It was Federal hopes that further deescalation would occur on both sides.

With what was seen as a betrayal by the Bulgarians, public out cry was high, demanding intervention for their ally in Anatolia. A force of 100,000 fresh troops accompanied by various armored divisions march their way to Turkey, in case assistance was needed. The Federation naval fleet is put on high alert, ready to come to the aid of their Turkish brethren if Greco-Bulgarian scum posed a threat. To the eastern coast, the TRAC fleet was eyed with distaste, even with peace talks under way. Coastal defenses lay in the way if they thought to break the peace.

In domestic affairs, the green energy endeavor continues, supplying thousands of jobs with it. To the dismay of Egyptian officials however, like those in Arabia, the oilfields were producing less and less. Even worse, the largest source of untapped reserves had just been discovered in literally another hemisphere. The push for green energy persists.

 

After some time, the highly complex bureaucracy of the Federation had finally centralized their intelligence agency, forming the General Intelligence Directorate of GID. Extensive training of spies and cyber divisions begin. Agents are placed throughout the populace, and many from former Sudanese operations are sent to foreign soil. the Commonwealth, UK, Iberia, and assorted African nations are prime targets due to their multi-ethnic backgrounds. For now, they would work to gain nominal roles in government positions, carefully watching. Counter intelligence would also be covered by the GID though foreign agents would find it hard cracking the shell to a highly stratocratic government.

 

Mauritania, Eritrea, and Djibouti, all former members of the now dissolved Arab League, are sent an offer to join the Arab Federation. The Federation was a highly dependable conglomerate who facilitated increases in trade and domestic supplies, and could rightly defend its states. The relatively sparsely populated nations, and in the case of Eritrea and Djibouti, rather small nations, would find the Federation to be a united force against outside influences. On top of similar cultural ties and same religion, they had also received large amounts of aid prior. [Mod plz]

 

In the wake of Japan's successful moon landing, countless citizens looked on in awe, many wishing for a renewed look into space. Thankfully, this coincided with the Islamic alliance's hope for more prestige on the world stage. Combing the likes of Turkish, Moroccan, Egyptian, and several other state space agencies, the Pan-Arab Space Research Agency, or PASRA, is founded. The combination of pooled human and material resources would greatly aid the Muslims in their space effort. PASRA's first mission, more of a celebratory matter, was the launching of IslamSat 1, a satellite that would replace the aging EgyptSat series. [Time from Mod plz]

NORDIC-BALTIC CONFEDERATION

Celebrations rang out across the Nordic States of the NBC as Iceland finally agreed to enter the Confederacy. In Iceland itself, national socialism is instituted, with Muslims, Africans, Middle Easterners, and anyone with an ethnic origin in the Russian Federation are deported. The unemployed and homeless are inducted into the newly formed Icelandic National Labour Service, and get to work updating and expanding Iceland's geothermal and hydroelectric power plants, as well as upgrading infrastructure around the island, especially on the Icelandic Ring Road.

The discovery of masses of oil in the Arctic, however, was what had the government of the NBC celebrating. With most of the oil lying off the North-Eastern Coast of Greenland, and with the NBC being the discoverer of this truly huge reserve, the NBC CLAIMS SOVEREIGNTY OVER ALL THE NEWLY DISCOVERED OIL IN THE ARCTIC. Other nations are warned that they shall respect this claim or shall face harsh consequences. Work begins on oil platforms in the Arctic to start extracting this.

The Hellenic peoples were shocked by the sudden appearance of a national crisis in Bulgaria, first the Turks moving in to defend it and then the Bulgarians turning to fight back against the Turks. Grecian troops from all over the country are immediately mobilised and move into this now highly contested region, however only on the Grecian side. The mechanised forces that advanced towards Sofia halt, giving back what little gains they made and retreating to Grecian soil.

 

Recruitment campaigns are overwhelmingly increased, the messages being that of ensuring a strong state to prevent Ottoman aggression. While this total armament is taking place the newly finished Aircraft Carrier, the first the Hellenic state has ever had, is launched in Athens on a brief patrol before returning - the navy's strength now much complete. An offer is sent to Bulgarians privately also:

 

"-People of the proud Bulgarian state. It was not our intention to come to blows over such a petty issue as land, it was our intention to form a stronger state for all countries in the Balkans to prevent such agressions as you now face. Know that we stand with you in this conflict and it is as such that we once more extend the hand of friendship and invite you to the Hellenic Republic for greater security."

 

Despite this promise however no direct military action is taken against the Turkish peoples, with supplies being flown in to support the Bulgarian forces all foreign deployed forces, such as the elite troops in the BSC, are called back and return to Thessalonica and prepared. Air Command deploys hundreds of planes and drones to run scouting and reconnaissance runs.

 

A message is broadcast to all of the allies the Hellenic Republic possesses: Iberia, U.K, Russian Federation and the remaining ties of alliance to the Roman Empire in an attempt to gain international aid. They are asked for any help possible to be given in case the Turks decide to attempt to breach Grecian borders.

 

A message is sent to Turkey reassuring them that as long as they pull out of Bulgaria the Hellenic Republic will not attempt an invasion for such, and apologise. However - if the Turks do in fact attempt to remain forcefully in Bulgaria the Hellenic Republic will have no choice to aid their brethren in Bulgaria.

ARAB FEDERATION

Djibouti agrees to join the Federation, happy to part of what they saw as a restored Islamic Empire. However, Eritrea does not, and asks for a guarantee of independence from AFRIKAN COMMONWEALTH. Mauritania also declines to join, a corrupt government seeking only to serve its own needs being the main barrier.

The satellite launch progresses well, and is expected to happen in roughly 4 months. [1 page]

The Australasian Federation

 

The Federation with its recent trade agreement with Japan has annexed Western Guinea and what was the nation of Papua New Guinea, the mining companies in Australia immediately move to take control of the various gold and silver mines along with those of other materials, thus logically now giving Australia the world leadership in Gold mining and refining (( Mod approval for world leadership in the gold market)) such a resource rich country and having Oceania finally fully united New Guinea is now given the name the Specially Administrated Region of New Guinea having control over both the Western and Eastern half along with the islands that were part of the nation of Papua New Guinea. 

 

With Oceania secure Australia turned its attention south, sending its companies expert in mineral extraction of any sort to Antarctica, being a country experienced in mineral extraction a fleet of ships carrying Oil Rigs is sent guarded closely be Australian warships armed with rail guns, they are acting upon information given to them by the NCR as both countries are working closely together (( Mod approval needed for success, considering Australia is one of the closest countries to the Antarctic I'm sure it'll have some success ))

 

With the mining plans secure, a secret proposal is sent to the NCR to secretly begin development and testing of new space technology, although inkeeping with its father nation the United Kingdom it wishes to help its greatest ally in its own space program. With the sheer amount of gold Australia can now produce, it begins to keep much of it for themselves in order to create a reserve and in order to drive up the prices and with demand as it always has been with gold it isn't about to lower itself anytime soon. The Australian PM now dubbed the His Grace the Duke of Bowral, his hometown flies to Japan to join the wedding ceremony, having to wear a ceremonial uniform for the wedding he brings with him a delegation of the richest and most powerful Australasian and Oceanic Peers of the Realm to greet the Empress. With them they bring gifts of gold, diamonds and silverware as Australasia is rich in mineral wealth. This is for the wedding gift but also as a thank you to the Japanese Imperials for allowing Oceania to be reunited with the ceding of the New Guinea territories to the Federation.

BREAKING NEWS FROM THE LAGOS CONFERENCE:

The worlds eyes were on the Lagos Conference, every news team from across the world had sent a team over to see what kind of treaty would come out from the some of the greatest leaders of the world. When the conference was finally over the first person the reporters wanted to interview was Ukuwu T’Challa.  To them he had only a few words to give :

 

“The conference truly disgusted me during some times. Some of the delegations wished this to be a second Berlin Conference. To which I replied that I will defend all countries right to Self Determination, the power to chose should be the most important thing during any discussion about Foreign Policy. So with that in mind I will tell the world that Mauritania and Eritrea shall have the Commonwealths as an ally against all those who would seek to suppress their independence.

 

Hostilities have been called to a halt with the Islamist countries and a truce has been established but that does not mean we will stop defending the will of the African people. ”

 

The press wanted more but the Black Panther guards made them think twice then to keep pushing their luck. They press seemed to agree that this meant that no deal was officially signed in the conference.

There has been a massive development during the trial of the Congolese Warlord known as Bosco Natgaga. The Commonwealth prosecutor asked a question that probably startled all politicians from the Congo.  The question was phrased as following : “During your time as a Warlord did the government of Congo ever order you to genocide their own people?” To which there was no reply from the the Warlord. Many have taken his silence as an admission of guilt and that he remained silent out of fear from the government in Congo. To this Ukuwu T’Challa said:

“It is truly disgusting that the government of Congo would seek to kill and persecute its own people. The Commonwealth now openly denounces the government of Congo and tells all of the citizens of this country that they are welcomed to join with the Commonwealth.”

For quite some time the Swiss were silent from the world after Pax Europa was formed, few took notice however, as it was the normality of the Swiss to be silent.

 

After Pax Europa, they Swiss took on the effort of conserving oil to their maximum. They began exchanging vehicular engines with electric engines, whether as strong as oil or not, they did not care. Solar panels were placed on every roof of every house in the valleys. Windmills were constructed and set on the upper mountains, on the outside of the valleys. Large trenches were dug to place power cables to a new powergrid being constructed in the heart of nation. ((These efforts began when I left to go on my field trip 4 days ago, just now is the effort finishing))

 

The Economics President took a step ahead of what he believed was to come to the world. Merchants now began exchange of valuable items and resources, along with the usual money. The most valuable item was surprisingly not oil, as the nation had turned away from it as much as possible, it was solar panels as the Swiss continued their transfer from oil to solar energy.

 

The Defense President slowly nodded as the Economics President added the addition to the economy. He began military funds to scientists to find a way to have rockets be effectively launched with electricity as the source, no oil required. ((Estimate on when it would be discovered? Mod))

 

The Foreign President now simply watches world affairs very closely, informing the others of anything major that took place as they were too focused on their work to watch themselves. He watches for any major disaster, or success, that other nations have.

Confederate States of America

 

It would seem the politicians had resolved the tension escalating in Africa. Not one to waste, CSA command ordered there forces in Africa to prepare to sale back home. Grumbling about just getting there, the first and second waves loaded back up onto ships and left. The Third and fourth waves just turned around and came back home much quicker. Things would hopefully ease up, and the strain on resources certainly would as the army dispersed. CPNA that had stayed in the west were ordered to stand to. The wars in Honduras start up again as the CSA focuses on home once again. Nicaragua has long been in their control, and is accepted into the CSA as a state. Venezuelans clamoring for statehood got it too, their state militia organizing. With oil rationing, and strictly enforced civil laws, the oil consumption rate was slowing down. To also help with this, the CSA cuts all oil trade deals, and only re-offers them to members of T.R.A.C. The Panama canal's tax is raised again, making it hard for non prosperous nations to travel through it. With the freeing of the navy in Africa, a large standing navy docks on both sides to guard it.

 

The war in Columbia had long been stagnant. Not because of their forces, but the CSA had to deal with other more important issues. But now it could resume, if they wanted it. The coast was dominated by CSA navy, some retrofitted with rail-guns. CPNA troops had been pushing in from the east, pouring out of Venezuela. A beach head was planned to be made, if diplomacy failed. A CSA delegation opted to hold a conference between the CSA, Brazil, and Columbia. Offering to end the war in Columbia, the CSA instead wanted open trade, peace, and alliance. 

 

Haiti, Dominica, and Puerto Rico have long been states, and were finally up to par. The CSA had been investing in ports and shipyards for some time, and it was paying off. The three states were making naval ships both for domestic and military use. With rail-gun technology, heavy frigates were also being produced. The navy for the most part stayed to the Atlantic and protected trade, while the rest stayed dock. Only in times of full war would the growing navy be used, the oil cost thus becoming lower. Following a long ago naval policy, oil is bought and stockpiled in already large stores. They would be for military use if the time came, and were well protected. Research goes into making a remotely controlled land drone dubbed a CAMEL that would have four legs built for most terrains. It would be able to run of it's builtin solar harvesters, and would have a hollow middle to store a good amount of supplies. It would take ((5 pages, mod approved)) a low amount of time, most of the technology already being there. 

 

The CSA had long been going green, and it was coming together. Domestic energy consumption could now be said to be equal to oil consumption, and it was renewable. Particularly wind and solar energy was paying off, as more advanced ways to harvest it are sought. Solar Roads are planned to be built, ones that could collect sunlight all day. The energy harvested from them would pay of it's cost in a matter of years, then start to produce good amounts of energy to it's surrounding districts. Solar Car industries are planned to be expanded on as well, with limited oil for domestic use. In cities cars were all but unheard of now, trams, electric subways, and walking the norm. Where cars were needed, was where the solar renovations would first come. Small scale organic farming is endorsed, the CSA trying to keep it's local farmers supported along with a healthy local populace. Industrial farming would be left to the big corporations, to feed the masses, and be sold off to other nations. Pot was opened up to the states, most allowing it for medical uses.

 

The CSA was a primary seller in food, natural resources, and technology. With T.R.A.C being one of the most stable and richest markets, there was always a place to sell their goods. With all the islands, middle and south american states, and oil wells, natural resources were flowing in. An Industrial south processed all these things into useful goods, and sold them at home and abroad. With the rain forest in south america being protected, the already blooming hemp industry reached a national level. Hemp and Pot, the future, some CSA politicians proclaimed. With all this Elijah Wintersun ended his six year term, and the second election rounds came up. People were torn, between the many candidates all preaching for different things. Finally it was weeded down to two, Mark Aybara, a man who wanted less national government, less of everything but states rights. The other was Thomas Grein, who was a Confederate radical to the bone. A firm supporter of staying united, he neither backed states or national. He preached isolation, a now common feeling int he CSA.

 

In the end it was Thomas Grein who won the majority, and set to continuing the CSA on it's road. He did not let the states run out of the national leash, and it seemed they did not mind. Ever since they were a nation, the states understood the importance of staying unified on a national front. They had seen what happened to the last CSA with it's petty squabbles, and sought to avoid that. Thomas accepted the energy deal with the Commonwealth of Afrika, but besides that he kept the CSA silent. They would trade with most, but he was done with endorsing foreign involvement. Matters at home were important, and the potential war with the South Americans caught his eye.

The Japanese Empire

 

 

The Japanese Moon landing and marriage a simultaneous success, the country that had been through what many consider the most strife in the past decade could finally smile. The thousands taking to the streets and going to the festivals were met with rows of stalls boasting games and food. 

 

In the Imperial Headquarters, though, their Empress paces back and forth in thought. They had been the first in a decade to land on the Moon, and would be the first to start drilling into whatever was there. But that wasn't enough. A new rocket begins production, to be launched to Mars. ((Pok plz/6 pages))

 

The Japanese mainland sees an increase in production of hybrid or completely electric cars and many gas stations continuing to be converted to recharging stations. Solar panels dot the roofs of houses and wind turbines are erected throughout the countryside. Nuclear reactors continue to be in service and some are even built, but they are built with much more defensiveness in place to make sure it doesn't melt down or leak. The navy is sent to dock at their various designated ports, and while maintenance is done only coastal defense craft continue to patrol the seas. The navy's designated port is Sendai, on the Japanese main, and the majority of the navy is docked there.

 

Japanese railgun research halts completely, and the scientists are moved to the various mechanical improvement sectors of Japan, where they work on increasing electrical output of turbines and solar panels.

 

High tech satellites would be able to see that the Japanese appear to be drilling into the Moon and setting up a base the shape of the rising sun close to the Moon's Rheita Crater. The lunar base has begun to be set up. ((Mod please)).

 

The Baltic Federation and Brasilia are sent large investment offers in sinking oil wells, in return for slightly lower than median-priced oil.

The Union States of America

 

As word gets out that there is oil in the Arctic, the White House goes crazy. Phone calls are being made all over the place. General Patterson has a grin on his face wider than the Grand Canyon - the same that separated the NCR from the Union. Immediately the U.S releases a statement on national television.

 

"We have sent American patrols through Alaska into the North Pole. They will protect our assets there and make sure that none oversteps national boundaries and plunders our natural resources. However, we would also like to add that since the Nordic-Baltic Confederation and the people of Scandinavia own the territory of Greenland, Iceland, and several other near-arctic territories, we respect their claim to one hundred percent of the natural gas and oil that is there."

The Union offers a protectorate agreement to Canada. This agreement would mean U.S forces would be sent into Canada, build bases, and occupy the land - making it part of the NAC (North American Coalition). This would protect Canada from invasion and they would keep their government and continue to be part of the British Commonwealth. The Canadian government would be a sovereign state, however it would be under the watch of the American government and be a permanent ally and trading partner of the U.S. No threat is given if refused, and there is no new military mobilization. If Canada accepts ((Mod please)), then the UK would be sent an offer to add troops and build bases in Canada to help strengthen relations between all three nations.

The Union also sends Japan a trade request and defensive alliance. General Patterson knows full well that the two nations' egos have been on the line since the start of the second world war, yet it is prepared to overlook that and prepare for a better future. Offers of the Union sending plans for a Railgun prototype and American space knowledge is also sent.

 

Project RHINO has its first prototype and enters testing phase. The results are decent but it will take time to get what they wanted. With new research and more testing, Project RHINO will finally be able to enter production.

Slightly offended by the CSA's raised taxes on Panama and their cutting of oil deals, General Patterson looks elsewhere. The North American continent was a mess. South America was a bunch of feudal states. The world was in an entanglement of alliances and conflicts. The Union did not know who to look out for and which countries to invest in. Although they regarded the CSA as an ally and a trade partner, they knew with the worldly political mess, the Union could not trust anyone. The CSA is offered plans to participate in Project Rhino, but other than that, the added feeling of re-unification and the T.R.A.C makes the Union colder to its closest friend. What was the General even talking about? Countries didn't even have friends.

 

General Patterson holds a meeting and invites the Japanese Empress to join him in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. ((Will be done through PMs)). The Union sad to see the leader not show up in D.C, sends the NCR envoy home. If the leader of the NCR hadn't the mood to resolve diplomatic conflicts, than neither did Patterson.

General Patterson knew that the Union was about to change forever. Hopefully for the better, but he could be wrong.

 

It may have been a grave mistake.

Peace terms are reached with Iran as follows:

 

1. Iran will disarm to half of its previous military strength and will inform the Caliphate before any military research endeavor.
2. Iran will cease any efforts to produce nuclear weaponry.

4. The Sunni Caliphate will take steps to protect Shiites within its borders, and will amend the slavery law to forbid the ownership of any Muslim.
5. Iran will similarly loosen their persecution of Sunni Muslims.
6. Iran will grant the Caliphate permanent permission to pass military forces through their borders with adequate forewarning, and the Caliphate will pledge to protect Iran against foreign threats.
7. Any military aid received from foreign countries is to be declared to the Caliphate and if taken without approval represents a breach of this treaty.
8. For as long as this treaty remains intact, the Caliphate will safeguard the sovereignty of the Iranian government in its entirety.

 

There are also requests for Iranian desalination techniques to be shared along with other approaches to the water and power crises, but they are not part of the official treaty.

 

Peace terms are also agreed upon with T.R.A.C, and Caliphate forces back down there. Turkey has the full support of the Caliphate in however it wants to handle its situation.

New Californian Republic

 

 

 

Research

 

Many of the NCR projects go according to plan and progress is quite visible. However, one of the longest standing and most expected projects has finally come to light. After many years of research, trial and error, testing and failures the combined Nigero-NCR team of scientists in the Commonwealth have succeeded in creating a functional and advanced set of armor. They dub it the HATE armor and blueprints are sent to NCR factories back in New Vegas, where pre-warned workers and specific sites begin production.

 

With the overload of materials flowing in from the Australian mining machine and Nigeria they are able to produce more than previously expected, at a lesser cost than had been predicted. While it will take time, the NCR economists are confident that they have the funds and means to begin equipping many units with this armor.

While other regular army battalions do not have the same training and as extensive cybernetics it will without a doubt improve their effectiveness on the field by a large margin.

HATE armor scientists return to the NCR where they are given a few weeks rest and relaxation before being pushed into another project. This time, they are ordered to begin the planning of a new, modified infantry rifle. The project will be labeled “Ares”. The scientists in the submarine down south in the Antarctic report their findings to their hub, and from there the government decides to spread this information among T.R.A.C members, however it is kept only at the highest levels and extreme precaution is advised as the NCR wishes to avoid other nations poaching in their own lands. Two more submarines set ‘sail’ towards the first with more building materials as the first begins to set up camp in the shadow of a large hill, aiming for maximum secrecy and camouflage, some of the soldiers brought with them begin to work on creating a cave system in the hill itself, following orders of an engineer on site. In the two submarines come three navy SEAL teams, 21 special operations soldiers bearing the first HATE armor models. These two submarines bear additional supplies and building materials.

 

Australia’s help is requested in this endeavor as the NCR wishes to set up oil drills as fast as possible to stake their claim. Two destroyers break off from the second carrier fleet and join up with the escort leading the rigs to the Antarctic. They are the only holders of the exact position and maintain communication with the hub back in the NCR through scrambled and encrypted channels. The NCR first fleet breaks away from the Horn of Africa and returns to home waters, sailing through Australian territory and coming up to lounge Mexico before returning to their home base for resupply.

As time goes on, the NCR obviously does not let its previous accomplishments rest and work on cybernetics and railguns continue, always trying to find fault in earlier models and improve upon them to reach maximum efficiency.

 

 

As the CSA accepts the NCR offer to revitalize NASA, certain scientists and astrophysicists along with a few of the best pilots in the NCR, drilled and veterans of the Mexico campaign move towards Houston and other key locations for NASA. An invitation is sent to Australia to join them in their efforts as the old Mars project is opened once more. The NCR officials wonder about the validity of inviting Union State scientists into the project. With the recent rejection of their envoy in Washington, they decide to discuss the matter further with other involved parties. At the moment, while the revitalization of NASA is known to the public, much of its objectives and purpose would be yet shrouded in mystery.

 

They begin by unarchiving many files about Mars, data, projects, plans, etc… And pour funding into NASA once more, asking the two other involved nations to do the same. Already, plans are laid out on where to launch, who to take, what type of fuel to use and which rocket model to build. Thanks to the many forays into these plans made by NASA in older times and the enthusiasm of a revitalized space program, huge chunks of time are sheared from the estimated production time. The NCR proposes to change the name of NASA to Space Program: Exploration, Augmentation , Research (SPEAR).

 

In addition to previous ressources, 5% of the national income is diverted towards NASA/SPEAR and other research and development. With these increased expenses, the NCR government decides to license 5% of its total military effectives to increase economic stability. These man are pulled from less experienced units with less training and skill. Most of them return to their previous jobs are are orientated towards farm work to continue producing enough for a large part of the country. 35000 soldiers are removed from the army, stabilizing it at 675k men.

 

National

 

Following certain protests by the mexican people, the Government alerts the garrisons in the region and have them march on any manifestation, be it peaceful or violent. Violent ones are reprimanded brutally, however live ammo is not used unless engaged on first as the NCR has learned the lesson of many previous dictatorial states.

 

Peaceful manifestations are forcefully disbanded, while a short announcement is broadcast, promising a resolution to their problems within two weeks. Sure enough, ten days later the Government decrees a new law giving Mexican mine workers a small payment should they be wounded and drastically reduced cost of a medical care should they be wounded while working.

 

Mexican citizens are given equal rights to NCR citizens, however, to reach the NCR proper they will have to undergo extremely intensive scanning, have an official government authorization to cross the border and be able to explain their reasoning in detail. Very few do pass the border and most are government officials off to negotiate certain clauses, etc… The USA/Mexico barrier of the early 21st century has not been removed, and has been brought up to par with the rest of the iron curtain surrounding the NCR. As railguns are slowly improved throughout the NCR, more tanks have their main gun replaced and are modified to work with the railgun, while a few more high-range stationary defence railguns are produced and placed in strategic cities around the NCR in bunkers, hidden and very well protected.

 

For the moment, japanese spies into the NCR are halted by the closed borders, as commercial flights do not pass into (or above) the Republic anymore and only authorized and thoroughly scanned people are allowed to enter the country. International

 

The NCR spy in Japan does not prod around too obviously and continues to do what he had done from the start. He acts unimportant and listens to what he can, he sits at his desk and works diligently, probably appearing as nothing more than a quiet and somewhat restrained man eager to do his job effectively. At night he often reads through japanese papers, attempting to see through the lines and divine the true meaning behind the propaganda. When at work he perhaps kneels down to tie his shoe when near an important officials cracked door. Sometimes, he goes to empty trash and keeps a small slip of paper, committing it to memory and throwing it into his trashbin before the end of his period.

 

All in all, he does his utmost best to appear invisible to the watchful eye of Japanese police and secret services. Just another citizen among many.

 

The NCR delegate in Washington D.C expresses his displeasure at the Union States unwillingness to communicate and once again insists that the NCR wishes only to smooth over once troubled relations, his name is Channing Tatum and he is a highly ranked party member in the NCR. He tries to impress upon them the fact that the glorious leader of the NCR is simply aging and must let others do duties he would once have done. After communicating this, he returns to his hotel and books it for one week, announcing his intention to stay a little longer, should the US officials change their mind.

The NCR approves the Lagos peace agreements and impresses upon the world its willingness to aid the Commonwealth should it be attacked by another nation.

 

Troops are rotated into Australia for their desert training constantly, so as to keep them all fit and ready should conflict ever erupt in the Middle East again. However, SEAL teams begin to train in the coldest conditions possible to prepare for the Antarctic. The NCR proposes to the NBC to do joint training programes in the cold conditions of scandinavia as it believes both nations can profit from such a venture.

The Black Panthers have moderate successes inciting unrest against the Congolese governments, with protests and even small riots popping up across the country, enraged by the allegations that genocide had been used against the people of the Congo. The Mexican protesters do begin to subside thanks to the NCR's Equality Act, with each passing day having less and less protesters. However, a strong core of protesters remain, who desire full Mexican independence. 

 

The Australasian Federation:

 

The Australasian hold on the gold market increases, and they marginally pull into the lead as a global gold producer. Their attempts to drive up the prices are met with mild success.

 

The Antarctic Expedition, with NCR intelligence, is successful in finding a moderately sized reserve of oil off the coast closest to Australia.

The Japanese Imperial Military

 

 

The Admiral Yoshitsune Makahara stood on the bridge of the JIN Sōryū submarine, where hundreds of pings continue to go out around the sub. They're all marked in green, and had all just left the ports at Sendai and Sapporo, where they had loaded the Japanese Army. The army transports, kept far behind the action, land on Sakhalin and the Kurils, establishing Japanese dominance over the lands and claiming them for Japan.
