CONGO CONGO GABON BENIN TOGO GHANA IVORY COAST Ukuwu T'challa wheezed as he hobbled down the hall of his palace, not exactly the picture of strength and ambition that had enabled his miraculous unification of central Africa. This aforementioned strength had seemingly been the cost of his triumph over the cancer that had stolen his glory days from him. Though kept secret for the duration of his treatment, the Ukuwu's story would soon emerge onto the screens of Nollywood, still the world's second-largest producer of feature films. ECONOMY Though the Ukuwu prepared to retake the global stage, his government had not been inactive these past years. With the severing of foreign interactions, all attention had been focused on nurturing the nation, which rested comfortably not only upon the industry of its oilfields, but now, also, its agricultural sectors. Self-sufficiency, as always, was essential. As barriers with the international community were slowly relaxed, the Commonwealth saw continued urbanisation amongst its largest centres of commerce. Dramatic changes in economic policies saw investors flock to cities. DIPLOMACY The Ukuwu anticipates responses to the following corresponences: MEMBERS OF TRAC - Maintenance of trade relations. - The Commonwealth offers land along the coasts of the Ivory Coast and Ghana for the establishment of a network of military bases. Troops from each of the nations will cooperate in training exercises. - The Commonwealth offers scientific cooperation. SOUTH AFRICA - The Commonwealth warmly offers trade relations - Along with sending a copy of his upcoming biopic, the Ukuwu's office inquires as to the possibility of a diplomatic visit by the Ukuwu himself to his prosperous southern neighbours. ISLAMIC CALIPHATE - The Ukuwu congratulates the Caliph upon his appearance of good health, and offers a few dietary tips he has picked up along the road to victory over cancer. - Ultimately, the Ukuwu praises God's power to heal, and thusly inquires as to the possibility of a pilgrimage to the Christian holy sites of the City of God. THE GOVERNMENTS OF BURKINA FASO AND LIBERIA [MOD, please] are approached with offers of incorporation into the Commonwealth as it enters into a second age of prosperity. SCIENCE & CULTURE In the wake of much focus on the Ukuwu's health, the government pours funding into cancer research. Several upcoming Nollywood directors are contacted by the regime and approached with opportunities in the production of state-sponsored material. The Ukuwu takes a personal filmmaker into his entourage to chronicle his reign. DEFENCE As well as in proposed military bases along the western coast, soldiers prepare for training exercises in the rugged, arid terrain of Niger's west, along the Niger River. --- Thunderous applause sparked as the doors of his balcony swung open. Brightsword PMC Concern After hearting reports of a Corsican campaign similar to reports gained from Iberia, the reconnaissance drones are reassigned to that area. Brightsword Humanitarian Aid helicopters delivers a shipment of foodstuffs for the Corsicans, to aid them in their time of need. However, these helicopters also bring with them the previously-stationed soldiers at the Brightsword Humanitarian Aid office. As soon as the location of Saeed's command center can be ascertained, a complement of 5000 drones will be deployed, commanded from the Brightsword command barge like the reconnaissance drones. These drones would then attack Saeed's command compound as the twenty-man extraction team sacks Saeed during the conflict, and escape to safety in the mountains where they (and Saeed) will be truly extracted out of the country under the guise of trapped climbers being assisted by Brightsword Humanitarian Aid. That doesn't go into effect until scans of the area are returned.. Brightsword staff has increased by 9000 since the first year of operation, now numbering total personnel at 21,500 personnel, not including casualties taken in the Brazillian War. After years of getting away with their crimes and selling their mantra to more and more men and women, they have grown from a lowly 70,000 men in 2020, to more than 120,000 today. The Slavic Union has moved out of the heart of it's motherland, Russia, to the small neutral country of Moldova. Moldova, however, is only their base of operations and not many outside of their circle knows of their location. With Moldova being the head of operations, they have become a transnational entity; meaning that they have cells that are small and large all throughout the world, planning to become the so-called master race. This may seem ironic to some, since it is the same philosophy that Adolf Hitler went by and failed, though these radical "Skinheads" believe that they may evoke enough fear among the people, and will be worshiped for such. The men of the Slavic Union are fairly hard to tell apart from the normal crowd, their mannerisms seeming normal and their appearance is similar to that of a motorcycle gang's. Not all of the men have shaved heads and will not attack someone in broad daylight unless there is a need to show the death of said person publicly. The most recent attempted attacks by the Slavic Union were both stopped, one had taken place near the Kremlin, though someone had reported an abandoned cargo van and when the timer reached zero on the explosives, it had only blown up multiple other cars and an empty building at an impound lot. The other had taken place in the United States where multiple Kazakh immigrants were stabbed outside of a bar in New York City, only one of six dying due to the incident. This did not even make national news broadcasts. This regime will most likely attack celebrations throughout different countries. The celebrations will only be attacked if those involved are not of pure Russian descent. However, the Slavic Union has grown further and further upset with Russia due to their rapid expansion and merging with other countries. Praetor 1550 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Californian Dominion Mars With an ear-shattering roar, the next rocket to Mars lifts off from its launch pad while a few squadrons of FF-22X’s fly around the site up into the higher atmosphere. The final squads wiggle their wings in an informal salute as the rocket tears past them into the great void. Inside, 12 more astronauts, four from each nation along with large crates of technology and building tools and equipment along with two retrofitted Dominion EMU’s to aid in exploration and construction. Accompanying them are two Terminator’s specifically created to assist in the heavy-lifting and construction but still quite adapted to combat. Additionally, they would bring NCR-restricted HWS guns and jetpacks for the whole expedition. When they land they would deploy the EMU’s and Terminators to begin expanding the first Mars base, but they would also begin excavating the nearby valley sides. These will be the foundations for a potential colony. Basing themselves off research from the early 21st century they will try to build a subterranean complex similar to a bunker in many ways. Better protected from environmental risks it will, at its final stages be able to house at least one hundred personnel and civilians. However, it is built in such a way as to allow for expansion should the colony grow larger. On par with Dominion standards, one commissar of the Schwarz Polizei comes in the ship to keep Dominion personal in line. (pok plz) These colonial changes are mostly because of certain protests to turn the Mars expedition towards more profitable ventures. However, the Dominion scientists and staff follow the power of the Government, and the government insists on furthering their exploration of the ruined city even if the others would wish to pull back. Reznov After finding many a dead-end, obviously blocked off, Reznov and Janet pull back to the base and request the help of one CSA and one Australian team member. Along with that they would equip themselves with weaponry, HATE armor, explosives and a cutting laser plus one or two electric saws and some good old rope. Returning to one of the blocked off areas with the most signs, the team would proceed to set up and go through various methods of blasting open the barrier. Successively, if the previous did not work they would try the cutting laser, the electric saws and the explosives. Should they gain access they would go forward with caution, lighting the way and streaming from a camera attached to each of their helmets. Moon On the moon, the previously established small-scale base is kept discreet, however plans are written up to turn it into some sort of construction facility due to the low gravitational pull. Nothing concrete is done as of yet. Slavic Confederation The trade offer sent by the Slavic Confederation is accepted, however the military aid is politely refused with a note of thanks for the generous offer being returned to the officials in the Confederation. Union State The offer to join in the RAPTOR and LION projects is quickly accepted and the Dominion asks to send a dozen or two experienced scientists to the proper laboratories. These scientists are implanted with control-chips with the classic acid-pill in case of defection and work with cold efficiency, not seeking to knit ties with other scientists in their fields of research. The only provisions for their continued contribution to the project is that the Dominion receives the full data from these projects, and the possibility to produce the new research itself. As for the space program, they request to send men on the expeditions and access data retrieved in them. Ethiopia A polite reminder is sent to the Caliphate from the TRAC, telling them not to forget the treaty agreed upon by the two powers only a few years ago. Project Cannibal “Can it be done?” asked the man on the screen, his face obscured by a shroud of darkness. The scientist wiped a bead of sweat from his face and nodded quickly, drying his hand shakily. “Of course, but it will take time. A lot of time.” “You have it. Get to it, Rosenberg.” A new, small-scale project is launched deep within Area 51. It is predicted to take nearly a decade, but the government is willing to wait. Project Infinity (pages to be discussed with Pok) and Project Zero (likewise). ------------------- The unpleasant beep of a heart rate monitor echoed through the dark room like some unearthly clock, ticking away the minutes left in a mans life. Four men stood around a bed, three in the suits the last in doctors clothing. In the bed itself lay the withered wreck of a man, tubes hanging from a dozen places in his arms and body while many sores covered the rest. “How long does he have?” asked Johnny Depp the Second. “Not long.” replied the scientist. “We have managed to keep him alive and functional for a while, but his body is withering beyond our control quickly.” The old man groaned and moved slowly, as if it were causing him great effort, even in his sleep. Depp looked at one of the suited men. His face was pale and gaunt, the features of a man who spent far too much time within the confines of a building. “You know what to do. Schwarzenegger can’t die.” ------------------ Afrikan Commonwealth With the appearance of the Commonwealth in the international tableau, the Californian Dominion sends a diplomat to their capital, who expresses his hopes that their founding brother will remain with the TRAC. He gratefully accepts the possibility to position troops on the continent and immediately sends a message back to the Dominion. They issue a small, 3000 man contingent along with a few cargo ships with the materials necessary to create a small base. The Dominion also asks the Commonwealth to do joint training exercises between nations in both the Saharian regions and the deep jungle. Of course, trade continues and the Dominion offers to trade certain technologies, however they ask to further discuss these matters. (skype) -------------------- Corsica The tactics had been enough to raise suspicion within the NDE. Long had General Saeed been a coveted target for the Dominion for the wealth of tactical and technical knowledge he could provide them under strain. This was an interesting enough lead that the NDE judged it judicious to send in an infiltration team to Corsica. They leap from the plane in the dead of night, dressed all in black with black parachutes. About 70 kilometers from the coast, they open their parachutes high up and let themselves float approximately 50 kilometers towards the island before landing in the sea. Taking out flippers and small propelling machines they navigate to the coast slowly, heading for Caliphate occupied territory. Once they land, they store their equipment under a couple feet of dirt and split into two groups of five. One of them dresses in ghillie suits and other stealth clothing and opt to remain within the thick brush and forests of Corsica, scouting out the area, noting down Caliphate patrols and generally getting a lay of the land. They would try to build an idea of where the major troop concentrations came from and where officers went, as well as their methods of transportation. The second group dresses in casual Corsican clothing and take out ID and passports classifying them as citizens of the island. These will get into the nearest cities and try to scout out for news of General Saeed, acting for the most part as fearful citizens worried about what he could bring to their island. The infiltrators in the wilds surrounding the cities set up a small base deep in the thick forests and move their equipment to it. It is in classical sniper holdout style, nearly invisible to the casual observer. --------------- Zurich - Switzerland “Spotted four,” said the woman, her cold eyes flashing across the street from the small café before turning back to the man in front of her. The one of supposed CSA origins. Her hair was tied into a tight bun and she had a frown marring her relatively pretty features. This whole operation had too many loose ends and smoke to her liking. She quickly reprimanded herself, training had drilled her to adapt to all situations and she would do so. “I see five,” replied the tanned man, a small gesture with his finger indicating the last one. Janet had never met him before this operation and probably would never see him again once it was over. The higher ups were good at rotating personal to sever any personal links. They sat in a corner of the terasse, far enough from others to speak unimpeded, but not far enough as to attract attention. “Three has a plan. Nextdoor building has easy access. Close, with rappel we should be able to access the fire escape. I go on overwatch, you go in and take him with Three.” He slid his phone across the table, revealing the fruit of his labor, his long hours of stakeouts. “Should be lightly protected, care of the other watchers.” After a few seconds Janet nodded and got up, a smile crossing her lips. She stretched her hand out as Two rose. “Thank you for your time, I hope to see you at our offices in New York soon.” -- At three in the morning, a short rope fell from the nextdoor buildings roof and Janet hooked herself on. She had a silenced MP-7 hooked to her side and a heavy-hitting pistol in case of emergencies but little else except for her augments. Her only other support was a small tranquilizer dart gun. No doubt two was watching her and Three from the other side of the street, carefully scanning surrounding windows and streets for any signs of disruption. Should he find a risk, he would first assess it, judge its danger and then either terminate it if it was immediate, wait for it to move away or hit it when it was in a secluded spot. Three would rappel down lower and use his technical expertise enter through one window without triggering the alarm. He would then proceed to the nearest power box and neatly slice the alarm for the upper levels. Once done, Janet would proceed to enter the building and move towards their target. A high standing official within the building who was known to stay late. Should all this work out, she would then proceed to take out any guards nearby as stealthily as possible and enter his office. Once inside she would instantly try to take down any resistance and then tranquilize him. Should the operation be successful then Three would move up from the lower levels where he was standing guard and join her to exit-through the fire escape, hook onto the rope and get hauled back onto the nearby buildings roof. From there they would bring him down to a pre-prepared van they rented and move to an old broken down house in the worst parts of the town that the tourist had rented. As it is, many people still remember many of the terrorist acts of the past decades Streets are blocked and squares filled with protesters as they go against the establishment of an alliance with what had previously been known as ISIS, a terrorist group that could well have been implicated in some of the acts in India. While it is no longer the same group, many still see it as such, or see much of what it once was in it’s brutal warfare and strict religious system. A certain amount of more conservative Hindu politicians also go against this, advocating the uselessness of creating an alliance with a nation whose only resources are dwindling amounts of oil. The Japanese space ship would take twenty-seven pages until completion. ((<== Pok)) In Britain , the increasingly catholic laws would not be well received and many a peaceful protest would be organized against the suppression of homosexuality, among other things. While certain violent protests would erupt, it would be, for the most part, relatively calm. Mostly due to the great advances the Imperium has done in space and the national pride these pioneering steps had brought to the people. Many are inspired, remembering stories of the discovery of the New World and simply shrug off certain concerns in face of the government's achievements. Lesthoso and Swaziland accept South Africa’s offer, eager to let go of their poverty and move towards greater things within the fold of the South African state. He suggests a route that would be well received, hoping to start and end in Cape Town. He goes further, making a public comment that he would be honored to house such a guest in his country, comparing him (controversially to some extreme reclusionists) to Nelson Mandela, having fought against the odds and illness for his people. He also suggests coming to Cape Town for the opening night of his biopic, and also to hold a speech promoting closer ties, should he be interested. This comes with an invite to speak with the president, Elon Musk, concerning the possibility of furthering an relations. (Skype) Money is also soon found flooding the new provinces of Lesthoso and Swaziland. Lesthoso happens to be quite the burden, as it seems the country was in total economic and productive collapse. It may take about 5 years before it actually breaks even, rather than drains South African resources. The military forces of both nations are merged with the South African forces, but many are cut, further hindering the South African attempt to properly assess its army. An important meeting is held with Britannia and Australia, ensuring a trade deal, and further strengthening of diplomatic ties. South Africa also chooses to participate in the Olympics, but there is no national pressure on the athletes, just loads of support in the way of fans, and extra money invested into sporting programs. Assuming that they had a few years notice, the Dominion picks out the highest potential talents from the Arnoldian Youth and put them into special training camps with ruthless trainers that drill them as far as they can physically go. Continually brainwashed at a higher scale than the average Dominion citizen they are pushed to the limit in the name of National glory. Out of the twenty canditates chosen, 7 make it out without suffering permanently incapacitating injuries and are said to be in acceptable condition for the olympics. Unlike many other Dominion citizens they have no augments and rely purely on their own physical prowess. The seven qualify for the following Olympic events. Athletics Artistic Gymnastics Fencing Weightlifting Taekwondo Triathlon Boxing The delegation sent to Longdon would consist of the seven best athletes in the Dominion along with all the necessary personel to keep them in good shape. But they are also accompanied by two Schwarz Polizei comissars to keep the whole group in line. They order the british staff to remove any niceties in the athletes quarters and replace them by spartan cots. The rest of the delegation is allowed to keep their luxurious settings, however the two Comissars would go through the rooms and remove anything they found too inticing. Given the amount of gold medals the Chinese had won in the past, it seemed like the results for this one would be just as successful. They qualify for Athletics, Artistic gymnastics, taekwondo, weightlifting, judo, table tennis, swimming, diving, archery and rhythmic gymnastics. A small group of Sealanders were sun-bathing on the roof of the self declared micro nation, when all of a sudden, a fireship blasted them with a spray of salty seawater! Apparently, a group of rogue British naval fire fighters had, in a surge of extreme nationalist, decided to take the day off and spray the Sealanders with their water cannons! "HA! Take that, ye pretender nation!" The Captain of the vessel cries, the crew laughing hysterically as they make their way back to Britain. Britain later apologizes to the Prince of Sealand for this outlandish incident and show of disgrace by their citizens, although they still refuse to acknoledge the sovereignty of their "nation". The Empress of Britain offers to grant Freddy Bates the honorary title of "Prince of Sealand" to legitimize his "claim" on the fortress, if Sealand will join the Imperium Britannia and stop their century-long shenanigan. She states that it is vulgar and disrespectful for them to call themselves an independent nation when real nations would die for their own independence in mainland Europe. ------------------------ Meanwhile, the British begin the construction process of building two thousand EMUs for military purposes. They insource the production of their new EMUs to the Australians, who ship them through Panama to the United Kingdom as they're built to avoid Muslim and other foreign waters. ----------------------- The London Olympics The British team has been training for several years in preparation for the Summer Olympics in London; they were going to show the world that the British Empire was alive and booming. Foreign team members are given rooms in some of London's grandest hotels as they await their fellow competitors' arrival for the Opening Ceremony, and they are treated with incredible respect. British hospitality at it's finest. The Olympics opening ceremony will be able to begin as soon as at least 3 or 4 other nations announce their attendance and send a delegation to London, in the United Kingdom Province of the Imperium Britannia. HASMAT teams move into areas of high contamination to perform clean up and install filters. Fungicides are prepared just in case they are necessary later on. The radiotrophic filters and fungi designs and materials are sent to the German Reich and the Slavic Condederation. After hearing of the Caliphate's own space elevator, and with the NBC's desires to have a greater space-borne presence, the NBC begins drafting up plans for a mass driver project that would be used to launch cargo craft into orbit, based in Greenland. Named Project StarTram, the mass driver would be powered by advanced MagLev launch, and the use of the Californian Dominion's own rail gun technology to help facilitate that. A spaceport would be built in South-West Greenland, from which a low-pressure tunnel would extend diagonally for about 100 kilometres up towards the Gunnbjorn Fjeld, ending at roughly 4km above sea level, using the mountain to provide a large support base. A cargo shuttle weighing 5 tons, with a max. payload of 35 tons would launch from the spaceport, and accelerate through this tunnel via MagLev at roughly 30G, and leave the tunnel to then coast through the atmosphere into orbit at high speed, using rocket burns to counter aerodynamic deceleration. Overall, the mass driver would reduce the cost of putting cargo into orbit into a mere $43/kg, less than 1/5 the minimum $kg of the Caliphate's space elevator, and a whopping 1/232 the lowest $kg of the early 21st century. The NCR and Australasian Federation are invited to partake in the project and would be allowed full use of the mass driver upon its completion. Drawing from north Africa and Turkey as well as a few athletes from Al-Andalus, they are strong mostly on the prestigious track events. The Caliph himself, Ahmed Abd Al-Qadir, announces that he will personally attend the games, and prepares his retinue for a rare venture outside the vast lands of his realm. Drawing from Australia, Papua Island, Fijii, the Solomon Islands, Polynesian Islands and New Zealand they have a wide selection of athletes to choose from. Intending to win the most amount of gold medals this year. The King of Australia and Prime Minister of the Federation attend, the King the former Prime Minister who was involved in the Federations near war with the Caliphate concerning the Commonwealth of Afrika and the current Prime Minister who ordered the Knights of Saint Peter and their REX units to defend Italy. In reference Colonel Rendon Howard, 1st Knight of Cairns the renown REX Ace Pilot is participating in the equestrian events being a very good rider in Australia. The King of Australia and the Prime Minister would intend to meet the Caliph to greet him in London In the Federation A Rocket is Launched from Australia to dock with the British Mothership with the chosen explorers from Britain, Australia and the NCR in one ship. Once they arrive at the mothership they are accompanied by supplies, materials to set up a base, along with three EMU Mechs programmed with build protocols installed. They will go to Titan, the Ship being programmed with a VI the human crew of the ship will be put in Cryosleep and will be carefully monitored for the journey. She would take a cab to the airport and would show anyone that seemed to object to her carrying the assault rifle the voucher as she quickly heads towards the planes arrival area. dirtryhary 26 Share Posted April 24, 2015 Confederate States of America Jamaica, Guyana, Suriname enter the Confederation as states, and celebrations are prepared. Jamaica wished for the economic power the CSA could bring it. The two South American states sought protection from what could be a German threat. They were scared of the increasing explosions and rumors traveling across the border. Being almost completely surrounded by the CSA also helped them make up their minds, but all three joined of their own accord. The national government allows lowered taxes for the three as they try to catch up to other state's levels. Following their new states concerns, CSA spies are dispatched to German held South America to find out what's going on. The Commonwealth of Afrika's proposals are met, and the CSA dispatches a force to Africa. Ten thousand of their finest troops would arrive with their needed supplies for building small forts and garrisoning them. They would offer their expertise of jungle warfare, and train in the desert alongside TRAC soldiers. A small naval contingent composing of a heavy rail-gun frigate, three frigates, and six destroyers would stay with the troops. They would help guard the coast, and confront piracy. A lot of South America's jungle now was in CSA hands. Intending to protect the dying environment, the jungles are nationalized. Foreign logging companies are kicked out, and more moderate and restricted CSA logging moves in. Trying to monopolize the lumber industry, the CSA drafts a heavy tariff on all lumber exports. The Panama canal tax is raised on non CSA lumber cargo, to further restrict other nation's moving of it in trade. With Brazil firmly blockaded, that left very few South American states left to sell their lumber. This would be felt across the world with foreign nation's forest shrinking, and their sudden cut of lumber from South America. Europe would be hit particularly hard, running out of room and forest as it is. As an effort of goodwill to the other South American nations, the CSA offers to form one large lumber company for South America. They would share the profits, and safely harvest from the jungles. The war in Brazil was escalating, as the push south was planned to increase. Most of the north now lays in CSA hands, with large city garrisons clearing out outlying countryside. Jungle fighter units and Californian specialist continue their wars in the jungle, slowly clearing them out. The small troop detachments sent south probe deep, trying to draw the Brazilians into battle. The order is given and the first line of one hundred thousand troops begin an actual advance. In the agricultural heartland of Brazil, they would make better time and have tanks and vehicles. A further one hundred thousand state militia advance with the first line as well, but are all focused to the western side. They would be the iron fist to punch through Brazilian lines, and then descend on them from the flanks and rear. Coastal landings increase in the south, as the CSA prepares for another coastal assault. For the olympics in England, the CSA would send a small team focused on fencing, running, and archery. They would primarily be from the various South/Middle American states, and a few from South America as well. The state of Cuba would graciously grant some of their finest cigars to the world leaders attending the olympics, as the CSA delegation will arrive to view the games.
