The group attempts to lead her out of the hospital, into an armored car, and take her to the palace of the King of Northern Iberia. Upon reaching there, they would lead her into the office of the King, who is talking to a blonde woman wearing shades as they enter.

The Japanese Empire

 

 

The Empire had gone silent for almost two years. While the average person noticed almost no difference, Japan had been preparing for something, a few things. No spy had made their way high enough into the Japanese government to touch the files, no foreign alliance could see the projects even with their best satellites.

 

But on the day of the Callisto launch, June 2, 2054, Japan's government formally declared itself the Japanese Space Empire and its various plans were revealed.

 

The Empire begins a (10 page, poksource) project focused on the reconstruction and modification of its navy to be perhaps one of the best in the Solar System - most ships equipped with starlite-coated titanium-nanotube plating and the fastest non-VI run targeting systems in the world.

 

 

 

Outdated but still useful railgun installations are set to sit next to massive AA and artillery, while massive amounts of titanium are ported from Madagascar to the Japanese main for construction.

 

Accepting the American peace, Japan begins its cultural unification of the newly taken islands - continuing its tradition of changing names and school systems while glorifying the Japanese way. Japanese tourists to Hawaii begin to come in droves, and the newly taken islands (Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, and Hawaii) are incorporated into the Japanese central government.

 

A hit new system quickly expands with government assistance throughout the consumer base - the Neuro Link.

 

 

With battery life of almost 20 hours, the Neuro-Link wirelessly connects to a small optical fiber chip painlessly implanted into the spinal cord that transmits sensory edits through to the brain and is easily rechargeable. This has created a new level of Augmented and Virtual Reality, and what many call the "Dive". The chip's nanotech transmitters, biosensors, and validators are more or less the same as their 2014 progenitors; but its effect is that users are able to feel all five senses, on interchangeable levels, over the Japanese drives. In Kyoto is a massive complex holding some of the biggest servers and supercomputers in the world, and economists say that the JSE is perhaps the most domestically advanced nation in the world. Its setup makes it virtually unhackable and resistant to EMPs and other disruptions. Settings cannot, however, go high enough to kill somebody by overloading their senses.

 

The launch to Callisto begins, the massive Japanese rocket sending itself towards the Jovian Moon.

 

The Mars colony, which had found similar ruins to those near the Dominion ((poksource)), transmits a message home and is met with the request to dig around a little but otherwise continue the base.

 

The Moon Base continues to run, with Skylons running every other week out of New Tokyo bringing supplies and people.

 

The Australasian offer of a Defensive Pact is accepted.

 

The Californian Dominion is offered a talk for a Pacific Nation arrangement, where the two might open trade and movement between the two countries.

 

India, the Caliphate, China, and Brightsword are given first access to the Neuro-Link plans. Other countries could probably reverse engineer them, but the chip implants are done only by government-certified Japanese surgeons and are made in government factories that require express forms made by the Minister of Finance to enter, essentially making them unobtainable. They are relatively affordable though, so almost every Japanese citizen ends up getting one, and the army is equipped with them. Even the Empress herself gets one, but hers is specially modified to make it impossible to hack and runs off of a special server located beneath the Imperial Palace.

 

The Japanese spies planted in countries other than the CSA decades ago now appear to be normal, indigenous people.

 

China's request for funding is accepted.

 

The Brightsword request is met with a recipe holding the 21 different materials necessary to create Starlite.

 

Japanese research turns to building a large spaceship on the Moon that could be self sustaining and hold up to eleven thousand people at once. It would be equipped with multiple Skylon transports, and would have to refuel on Mars if it would get as far as Callisto. It would be the first of the Tenno class, hulking beasts capable of specialized defense in space, holding a large colony of people or going on a Solar System cruise, and would take a long time to build. "I think she'd want to know," she replies bluntly, tilting her shades downwards. She looks to Madison, and winks, as though the intelligence operative knows that she's not telling the truth.

"Because Lancaster's sick, and the Empress would still want to know."

 

The King sighs, going to open his laptop and video calls the British Empress, who's currently on vacation in the Azores, over a highly secure channel. The program is custom-made by the British government, and would not be easily hackable.

 

After a few moments, he turns the screen around to face Madison. A woman, in her thirties, appears on the screen, wearing a blue bikini and drying her hair off with a towel.

 

"This had better be important, John... These Azorians have WONDERFUL natural springs!"

The King, apparently used to being called by his English name, sighs, and explains the entire situation to the Empress.

 

The normal-looking woman nods slowly. "Ah... yes... I see.

Girl, I will forgive your arrogance and your lack of common sense, if you would be willing to do a... bit, of a favor for Agent Haley and the British government, hmm?~

The Russian Federation

 

The Russian Federation saw the militarization of Germany, which had a lesser population and resources than Russia. Dmitry saw this as a preparation for war, the German war machine must be lesser than the Russian bear. A defense project is initiated with Russia's borders.

 

 

Now included with civilian and foreign levies from the Estonian, Belarussian, Ukrainian, Georgian and Armenian army. The Russian army stood with 3.8 million soldiers.  Due to the foreign threats and the mutual understanding that Russia could once again be broken, people happily participate in the many defense initiatives.

 

- The recruitment goal is set to 5.5 million as recruiters force the entire unemployed, imprisoned and willing population of Russia. From the Siberian villages to the urban paradises, all males are asked and propose to join a honorable cause to the military. The budget is at least doubled, but Russia can barely afford it thanks to British and American aid in their bigger expenditures.

 

- Border settlements are trained to barricade and handle arms, every house gains at least one rifle as the Computer-ran Armata tank patrols the many settlements. Artillery is deployed on every UEDI border as intercontinental missiles are readied.  The Airforce is prepared to bomb invaders any time.

 

 

Excessive propaganda regarding nuclear power and controversial weapons is spread in the nation, an extensive research begins on empowered rockets and artillery shells with nuclear energy and other chemicals. Each shell would contain Neutron and would have chambers with highly radioactive waste and crippling chemicals.  Thanks to the Caliphate's laser and American computer/armor technology, better rockets and vehicles became a realistic possibility. A general upgrade of the artillery would require {{3 pages}}, were the chemical stage would be reached in {{6 pages}}. However, only on the {{7th page}} could it be mass produced.

 

- More laser turrets are placed along borders and other area's, they are an effective alternative to AA and infantry turrets. The excessive expansion of nuclear energy made the empowerment of laser weaponry on such a large scale, fortunately possible.

-A election for a new President has passed, and people voted for a ideologist nationalist, President Hanski.

The Californian Dominion

 

 

The Japanese trade agreement is accepted by the Dominion, even though Japanese ships will still be forced to undergo extensive searches by the Dominion navy once they reach its waters, and Coastal Defence craft escort them into port where the sailors are not allowed off ship and are sent back once their ships are refilled with Dominion goods..

 

On the other hand, the Dominion formally refuses free movement between the two countries and the borders remain as tightly locked down as they have been since the creation of the Californian State.

REX and EMU models and data sent by Australia to the Dominion has now been sufficiently studied and adequate modifications have been made. Where EMU’s change little between the two countries except for small modifications in armament, armor and countermeasures, the REX’s undergo extensive modifications.

 

Two models are built off the Australian models, the OSIRIS/REX and the ATHENA/REX. The assault and defence variants. The OSIRIS models now sport an additional high yield flamethrower and a Hades Weapons System / MG hooked to its shoulder to deal with light armor, thick cover or armored infantry.

 

While the ATHENA models have a minelaying system instead of a flamethrower, more extensive starlite coating and two HWS/MG’s. They are much slower and less manoeuverable than their OSIRIS counterparts but benefit from more firepower and extensive close-range anti-air capabilities in their two VI controlled HWS/MG’s. There is debate about attaching a second railgun to it’s chassis, however the energy requirements would surpass the current possibilities.

 

In addition, both mechs are equipped with solid low-hanging bionic arms for more complex tasks such as moving large pieces of rubble, or just grabbings things and people.

 

 

With the millions of tons of raw materials flowing into the Dominion from many allied regions the main producing factories claim to be able to get out a combined amount of about 600 REX models in the relatively near future, as well as 500 to 800 EMU mechs. They cannot yet predict the amounts in the following decade.

With the data received from Brightsword, the Dominion begins production of the low-flying combat drones along with their anti-grav propulsion systems. These systems are put under scrutiny by many scientists and studied in great detail. Many predict that they could become extremely useful for various types of craft once this new technologies true power has been elucidated.

 

The production of 1000 battle-drones is planned, equipped with various combat systems including chainguns, sniper variants like the Brightsword models, bunker-busting flamethrowers or Hades Weapons System models for vehicular ambushes or assaults. Scouting variants are also produced in limited amounts.

Switzerland

 

Two men and one woman land in different cities, at different intervals, all in the same week. Berne, Geneva and Zurich. Skillfully hidden within their mops of hair, small scars betray the presence of control-chips in their heads. One is a tourist, the other two a business man and woman. Once they arrive, they find weapons delivered through Iberia and to specific cashes in their designated cities. Only the Zurich one is opened while the others remain untouched. All three of them converge on the city over the course of three days and book places in three different hotels in accordance to their cover.

 

One of the men goes under the name Andrew Becker from the CSA, a banker while the woman, Janice Moniker is an accountant in Britain, according to her papers. The last one, a man of chinese origin called Xhiao Wey, has papers claiming he is a tourist from Hong Kong. These papers are authentic or as close as can be, obtained by the spies in the respective nations.

 

They converge on Zurich for one reason only, it was the one place they had pinpointed the reichwachter’s interview from. Once they arrived, they would carefully begin preparations for their hit or infiltration on the broadcasting building. It was highly doubtful that they would find their target within, but nevertheless, it was their only lead.

The Hunt for Saeed

 

Agents were quietly dispatched to North Africa during the withdrawal of the Knights of Saint Peter from Italy, agents specifically chosen due to their ethnic heritage and knowledge of the cultures of the area, they know full well they will not get any support in this regard. They are on the hunt to capture or kill the notorious general Saeed, it is a high risk mission that involves them needing cyanide capsules placed within one of their teeth to ensure they will die if they are discovered.

The Foreign Ministry of the Federation appeals for calm in Europe, noting that it disrupts trade in the entire region if but one of the nations goes to war with another. However the Foreign Ministry says in the statement that it believes Germany is innocent in the charges brought against the Empire and that Russia should further investigate the Putin incident before throwing accusations at Germany and defending a known war criminal who was also classified as a criminal in Federation territory. It reminds Russia that any military aggression shown towards Germany could result in the Federation giving an armed Military response.  

 

The public in the Federation hail Sir Rendon, 1st Knight of Cairns and known as the 'Grim Reaper' to the Caliphate forces as a hero for selflessly volunteering to protect Italian Citizens. He is invited to many late night talk shows to speak about his command in the Italian Front during the war in which he volunteered on behalf of the Catholic Church in. The Federation needs a hero, a poster boy to rally behind if war is to come around again.

 

Training exercises concerning the REX Pilots are conducted to keep them on their toes, they must be ready to jump back into the cockpit whenever they need to. Seeing as India supplied the Caliphate they focus on anti-tandon warfare although the Tandon cannot stand up to a 2nd Generation Mech and has trouble keeping up with the EMU 1st Generation.

 

In Northern Queensland 

 

The REX Prototype in the base in Northern Queensland is completely unique to the mass production model, being modified time and again the model is special and at the same time dangerous for an average REX Pilot to use due to its high strain, its faster, has more weapons and its Virtual Interface is difficult to keep up with, so far the Colonel on the base has been the only one able to use it without suffering nosebleeds.

 

 

The Infiltrators on the base find out the schedule Doctor Rudd works on, he is awoken at 5am each day is given a breakfast, is taken out of the prison block, starts work at 6am in the REX hanger, he does not receive a lunch break, he will continue working until 8pm, at that time he'll be brought to dine with the two Colonels on the base so he can be questioned after hours on how progress is going and by 9:30pm he is brought back to the prison cell and between the hours of 10pm and 5am that is his recreational time.

Nordic-Baltic Confederation

 

The news of the Russians accusations at Germany was almost not surprising to the Nordic-Baltic government. They stand by their German allies, and ask that Russia first do actual investigation into the matter, and demands they stop mobilising on NBC and Slavic Confederation borders, especially for the sake of an assassination of a war criminal that might not even have happened.

 

In response to said mobilisation, the majority of the army moves east to prepare for possible Russian invasion. The rest is used to assist in keeping order throughout the NBC, though there is strict instruction for non-violence and just as strict penalties in any cases. The SAM turrets on the Great Walls begin updating to utilise the German AA system. ((2 pages))

 

A missive is sent to the Australasian Federation, suggesting for a collaborative project on a 2nd Generation REX Mech. 

 

The delay of the Titan expedition is very irritating to the NBC, however progress resumes and is expected to be done in a couple of years. ((6 more pages))

 

An acceptance of the Reclaimers' offer for payment for the lease for their Svalbard is accepted, on the condition that they take no harmful action against the NBC or any of its citizens.

 

A missive is sent to the Californian Dominion, and accepts their offer of closer ties. An offer of military alliance is returned to them, as well as trade and such.

 

The Union States are told they will not be allowed to claim any of the Arctic oil, however the NBC would be more than willing to accept a trade agreement for it.

The toll from the misguided war has been uplifted. The members of the Slavic Confederation agreed it was time to reveal the new armour for the troops to 'rebirth' the confederation.

The funding of the money will head towards into making all the countries under the Slavic Confederation balanced, discounts for new organisations to able to settle into the capitals with small fund to get them going. The quarter of their investment goes to the UEDI space program to push for the Slavic Confederation to go to space.

A open festival was held at Warsaw to represent Slavic Confederation recovery and military.

A squad of men in new armour suits marched out of the certains behind the President to form a line behind him. Where the current modern military troops of Poland were playfully suprised and knocked to the floor by the new suit troops which happened around the crowd. The soldiers perform the two-finger saulte.



This suit will take bit more damage than the past outfit as entire body is protected, not advantage like any other armours around the world but the helmet has wireless connection and eye senor so the troops may control the 'Bee' troops and target enemies for the Stealth tanks and HQ. They promote recruitment at this festival as police and army are merging as one.

"These new suits are the future of Slavic Confederation, they'll replace the police and military uniform. For full protection. You voted for me, for what I will promise to you and this is only a step of it."

The base functions at peak capacity, functioning as a model of British ingenuity in the final frontier. The efforts at translation move rather slowly. The more language they study, the less like Greek it becomes. The grammar especially proves tricky, and a lack of actual translators and a slow flow of data between Europa and Earth creates a greater challenge to any organization trying to crack the language. What is known though is that many of the letters are very similar to the language used in Ancient Greece, and that the meanings of many words are similar if not the same.

Technologically, nothing has been found that is able to be salvaged, especially in the realm of technology. Still, many dark sites sit unexplored. And many scientists that have recently arrived suggest exploring those sites for more answers.

The SPEAR expedition into the ancient city, headed by Reznov, would find a barren shell of a city. Ancient structures loomed over the Martian landscape as wind rattled through the empty hulks of what must have once been bustling centers of commerce. Signs hang in places in languages now illegible, lost to the sands of time.

As other expeditions move through the ruins, they cannot find much. Only desolate shells. No technology could be salvaged there, but many signs point towards something. What it was though, is unknown. There are several stairs in the street that lead to nowhere, implying that there was some sort of subway system. Or bomb shelters.

However, SPEAR does not find much on their expeditions. And they are costly at that. Many in SPEAR high command suggest abandoning the expeditions to preserve their investments in other aspects such as civilian colonization and scientific research.

The Japanese base also grows steadily, and digging begins in the ruins found near the Japanese zones of influence. While digging, more and more ruins are uncovered. Then, something incredible is found in the Martian dirt. Fossils. As of right now, the fossils are rather simple organisms such as insects and what even appears to be rats. One other thing of note is that the Japanese government finds a sign, a green traffic sign. And the sign could be read on site, because it was written in plain English.
