I rather like this idea... I'd love to see them..

I believe this is simply unnecessary, we do not need more existing special snowflake creatures for people to play and potentially abuse. You will always get bad apples, and if there's a bad apple of these things then, **** me.

I personally like this lore idea, It'd carry a lot of roleplay possibility with it. +1

I didn't fully flesh out the system, but parts of the aranha are designed with internal regulation. It's designed for good roleplayers who will use it to its true purpose in a sensible manner. While the bad apples get punished.

I'm honestly failing to see how this will enrich others roleplay apart from the person with the curse. We've already many factions and evil people around atop random ET occurrences, I'm not noticing purpose in just adding a 'general antag' with the main concept being to kill everyone it sees. Because currently, it seems like it would hold the upper hand in any fight.

We have evil people around but do they create presence? No. They kept to themselves and their group. They rarely come out to recruit others. They rarely get a group and do evil things in capitals. This concept forces the player to go out and interact with people. They can't simply go out and wontonly kill everyone, because that's how they get killed themselves. In the hands of good roleplayers, they can provide roleplay to others that doesn't always involve constant killing.

While ET occurrences have been improving, the future remains uncertain. We don't have an antagonist right now. I want the Aranha to create the presence and fear of the night that other evil groups failed to do.

As for the upper hand, it's not necessarily very powerful. And if players are strategic, they can easily best it. The Aranha is something that requires basic calculated attacks in order to defeat, and people who draw a sword and mindlessly attacking it will find themselves punished for it. If there is any aspect that you find going overboard, let me know and I will take a look. The Aranha is an assassin that punishes mistakes(hence why it is difficult to roleplay.) and players need to know what to do. The same also goes for the Aranha player. They can't do well in a prolonged fight. You can't just pick a fight with someone and expect to win. Your attacks have to be equally as calculated as your opponents are required to be or you will die quickly.

The Aranha themselves aren't powerful and suited for combat, but her pets make up for it. Without her pets, or a way to ensnare her opponent quickly, she will be at a disadvantage.

I thought this was interesting and very cool how the spiders will do most of her combat with her being weaker which balances it out it seems. I just had thought it'd be cool for some physical changes such as a multiplied iris, as in multiple pupils forming on top of the single one which someone would have to lean in really close to see which would make them vulnerable to bright lights due to enhanced sight or maybe the extended growth of protruding spider legs from their spinal cord (maybe 4 since that'd make 8 limbs on the RPer like any arachnid) that must be a scrunched up and hidden (maybe even blend into their clothing choice) which may aid them or even weaken their chances of survival if one is cut since it would begin to damage the nerve and support of the entire skeletal structure. But anyways, I thought something more physical or something that enables a person to really see that they're different rather than them being totally pyshco ***** crazy when someone asks if they want an apple and they end up biting their arm being the only way to tell. I guess I hoped for something to weaken them more physically that they are challenged in dealing with. I give it a go, just rambling on with ideas I guess.

I think what she means Pandan (which you may hate me for trying to explain or contradict your statement, sorreh) is that she wants an enables form of evil RP that really makes these people /have/ to encourage murderous or thrilling RP around them and for others dealing with them in order to RP this role. I am not too sure about all the Dark Arts players whether they stay in secured locations and all or actually stay in very social areas but I think this is meant to enable RP that's trying to always be exciting I guess for those who utilize it and maybe even encourage another group of players to become friends through this in a populated region. I have also not seen any of the other magics really deal in poisons (other than taint from necros) and toxins in such a vivid way which I think would be exciting to RP; this also isn't just RPing of themselves but spider babies (awwweee) for combat that helps them encounter these creature and separate roles from their own which could lead to more effective RPers. I guess it sounds as if I am trying to spice it up to make it sound better but that's my opinion on it.

I like the idea, scared of spiders. But I'm wondering how the skin would look as in mc wise. If the server had more player models it would help the "roleplaying experience" if you are much the visual type. Good read cynd.

What can holy magic work on these creatures since they are kinda dark?

Or just tame a spider and feed people to it. Doesnt need lore approval and works just as well.

Can you elaborate on the last question?

Is holy magic super effective against them ? If they engaged combat?

Seems more event creature than actual players roleplaying them if they were to be accepted in my opinion.

We already have enough as it is, why add more?

Necros, Frost Witches, Random bandits/thieves/murderers/etc., Ghouls, Oren, High Elves, and many others that I would say give this server a 'shock' factor. The term seems overused as well, and it annoys me greatly when people just keep describing their 'super cool' and 'dark roleplay' idea just because it's supposed to scare characters. I just feel like at this point, it makes me feel like it's the trigger word to help accept lore that will most likely die out after a week or two when people stop caring and go all gun-ho on you for being this 'super dark' and 'bone chilling' character/race. What I mean by that is. the spook factor just ends there since people can just easily go to 'Big Brother Oren' to help get rid of the problem that will persist until you get bored and tired of being killed all the time.

Im not afraid of spiders. So does this make this race irrelevant?

Obviously your opinion has to be the same as the majority's it would seem. This is more of a creature/construct thing than a race, truthfully. Unless you're also stating that all constructs and or magical creatures have to be another entire race entirely.

Give constructive feedback like Meguzara rather than sit around **** talking and 'meme-ing.' It'd be more enjoyable to read and make this thread less cluttered. You and several of these people are rudely derailing a thread because of who the author is rather than actually trying to appreciate a well thought out written work above, and even if you do dislike it actually point it out in a constructive way instead of acting like children.
