Small Map vs Big Map

  1. 1. Do you prefer a small map (Athera/Fringe size) or a massive map (Vailor size)?

I honestly think that Tahn would be a perfect sized map. Its unfortunate that we decided to go with this 3 island, 3 worlds thing.

This vote has been done so many times. We all asked for a map, between Athera and Vailor. Not to big, not to small. However we got Axios because they wanted to try the multi-server thing. So we got this huge map, that's literally been talked about having an entire island sink or whatever.

A small map would be nice, we're to spread out as it is.

I want a smaller map to be honest. A bit bigger than Athera but not as massive as Axios or Vailor. It not only makes doing events that get everyone involved easier but it makes it so everyone isn't spread out like butter on too much bread. These days you'd be lucky to go to most cities and find RP. 100 people online at 10PM PST (1AM EST), and nobody in any of the major cities, making finding rp very difficult. (Though that's probably because spooks attack major cities 24/7). That's just my two cents though, and take them as you will.

Just have a small map with a few minutes between nations (No more than 3), limit the amount of settlements so humans don't have ghost towns everywhere, and have Event Isles so ET doesn't run out of space to do events, and they can do whatever they please in terms of events, rather than scouring about the map for something interesting.

I rather enjoy large, high fantasy maps. As long as the upper staff lets the builders make things worth exploring, instead of having an aneurysm when something doesn't go their way.

I've heard of a certain... Historical server, and they seem to be able to get good map sizes, strange :I

Why not a medium sized map. Something Aegis sized but with less if no free build, and with nations/races a bit more spaced out.

A map that isnt a total island to start so it can be expanded via exploration rp to a suitable size if things get cramped

I'd opt for a medium sized map, but more than size needs to be done right to get a good map.

1) I liked the idea mentioned on the first page about unexplored territory. This is perfect; it can help condense roleplay in the 'discovered' locations, while hundreds, literally hundreds, of events could be done with adventuring out into the unknown.

2) The map should be heavily linked to the maps storyline, from start to finish. If it's some mumbo jumbo spooky stuff, for example, then there should be ruins and other oddities hidden throughout the map that can give hints and tell a little bit of the map's story.

3) Roads. A medium map with the minimal amounts of roads would help promote roadside RP.

4) Unique regions; have a group of karst tiles, have a group of desert tiles, snow tiles, plain tiles, etc, but try to keep them all bunched together and not repeated outside of their group. I feel like this would give parts of the map character and make them more memorable.

Anthos was perfectly sized, have a map that size with a main road leading around it and you're good

gimme them anthos-fringe sizes.

cozy, yet spread out with unclaimed areas in between cities and some premade event locations to gleefully discover.
