  1. 1. What would you like to see happen to our Bird/Messenger system?

    • Remove it and replace it with nothing. Force people to RP messengers themselves and carry letters between players.

    • Remove it and replace it with a rule based system involving GM approved aviary structures.

Define rulebreaking skype rallies. Do you mean skype rallies for warclaims and raids? Or skype rallies like: "DUNAMIS IN PETRUS!11!!"?

Personally, I find skype rallies for warclaims and raids is fine as it would be too difficult to manage in roleplay and even more difficult to enforce OOC'ly. However, rallying to metagame against such a raid should be bannable. If they caught you off guard because you don't have enough people on to defend a against a raid then you deserve to lose said raid, we have walls for a reason too.

Note: I also believe raids should be planned in RP a day before they occur with skype rallying being used as a reminder and nothing more.

Good points and reasonable, I don't disagree. What I disagree with however is the 'silent alarm'. Unless somethings said in rp like '/s "There's stuff going down guards, help!' there's literally zero warning and all of a sudden you're surrounded by a gaggle of guards from nowhere which is completely unrealistic. I don't think RP should be confined, and let's face it you're a perfect example of someone even if they made a rule you wouldn't follow it, to just ingame(no offense you quite literally said it multiple times, not trying to jab). Skype warnings or hails for guards IMHO is okay to an extent.

Adding a rule where you have to be logged in the city is a GREAT idea, however how can you enforce that @zaezae?

I've always thought of and rpd offline people as being either asleep

I don't think all too many people would sleep through a raid on their village/city/home.

Generally with birds, I do all the small RP to send the bird off, then send the actual message a couple hours later.

As for the rallying, I just second Leo for the most part.

Rallying, however: no. Just logging in to deal with someone, after being told about them on skype, in the city to immediately log off is not allowed as of this post. It's unfair on villainous role-players as it makes it near impossible to achieve anything.

Maybe villainous roleplayers should grow a brain and not attack people in a city square where guards should obviously find them acting like a criminal.

Well I mean I'm not sure other than 'caught red handed'. Still, it's possible to see someone walk in and call them out.

'We just came back from patrol.' 'I was coming here anyways.', just playing devils advocate.

You say that like that's not an uncommon thing that actually happens though. Just get a mod to check if a player abruptly ended rp or something to run to a fight in his logs if you suspect that.

What happens to your character in roleplay and sticking with lotc lore, when you log out?

I didn't insinuate it was uncommon or otherwise, in fact it's pretty common as far as I'm aware. I've tried the GM route of checking everyone and it only serves to further infuriate guards/players to target you whether they say it's IC or not. I can toss a few nation names out but we're all aware of the meme and the way these people treat this server as a pvp server.

It all comes back to the honor system, which quite frankly I don't trust a lot of the players I see. The reason I say that is the way people are talked to during oocly during rp fights, they take it personally to the point of calling people names oocly etc etc. It's disgusting and childish.

Yeah I understand. It would take a bit of personal integrity from the players and NL doing the call. I thought it was a good idea but without a way to enforce a rule kinda defeats it's purpose.

The way the poll is worded that way is because, as of right now, the previously 'allowed' practice of Skype rallying is now against the rules from this post going up, making it fall under rule breaking rather than the allowed form of it outlined in the post.

I get that its currently against the rules, but when you throw in phrases like this "rule-breaking" it leads the person answering the question to assume it's bad.
