‘You are not truly dead until the ripples you left behind fade away’

It was a morning like any other. The citizens were passing their day by working, talking or simply resting and enjoying the simple pleasures of life inside the city of San Adrian. The sun shone brightly up in the sky, the crystal water echoed audibly throughout the streets as the songs of birds filled the square with a soothing aura.

However, one moment is all it takes to ruin everything…

The sound of hooves galloping echoed through the streets as the citizens hurriedly made way for riders to pass. They arrived in front of the palace gates, where Demetrios was ordering workers during the process of the repairing of the portcullis. He looked at them, recognising a few like the famous mercenary Henry. He made a motion for the workers to leave, as he stepped forward to them.

Demetrios ignored most of their remarks and questions, only responding when necessary. His thoughts were to his wife, held by Lucienist and screaming towards him, tears running down her cheeks while her Lady in Waiting tried to pull her away. Even at this time of hour, he smiled at her and told her to go.

He expected they would bring him for questioning. He expected they would humiliate him. He expected an execution. He didn’t get what he expected. He got what he wanted though. Demetrios was raised as a soldier. And he wanted to die as one. Thus, the sound of Norlanders and Frost Beards coming to aid was what liberated him. He sprung forward, his blade clashing against one man’s axe, only to feel a warhammer smashing his side. He turned, only to feel an axe on his body, blood spattering through the air, as he collapsed to the ground, the reinforcements soon falling at the hands of the Orenians.

A few minutes later, inside the empty and bloody filled courtyard, Marie, Bishop Solomon, Mariane’a and Archbishop Jack stared at the bloody body of Demetrios. He held Marie’s hand, smiling at her.

“Take care of the children…”

Demetrios turned to Archbishop Jack, his haf

“Take care of my sister…”

He then turned to Mariane’a

“Tell Gonzalo...i had a good run with him… and take care of your daughter.

He looked at Solomon

“Thank you...for everything...Father.”

He then looked at his wife, before his eyes turned cold and his hand limp, gazing at the sky. His life passed through his eyes, as he remembered everything that had transpired in his life. There were good times… and bad… good people… and not good...yet he cherished them all. But he would miss them...his friends...his family...his loved ones.

Demetrios closed his eyes with his wife above him, kissing him one last time.

Demetrios Palaiologos of Santegia was now dead. But his legacy would survive.

(Yes, this is a PK post. Obviously this was from his side of view. So obviously these are his thoughts but I tried to make it as neutral as possible. So please try to be relevant to RP when you comment. Thank you.

I made him during August, a nine year old kid. I honestly didn’t expect to get where I did with him. I enjoyed every step of the way. To my friends and allies, I will miss rping with you dearly. To those who aren’t that, no hard feelings to any of you. I had fun roleplaying with you, even if it didn’t bring my character much joy.

With that said, I wish to every player of LOTC good luck with what they do and remember, as one chapter closes, another opens. The story is not over yet.)

"First my father, now my brother... death has ripped apart my kin!" A young boy said and looked up to the sky. He stood firm, nor happy nor sad and began singing a song for the losses of his brother and father.

Marie was clutching at the lifeless body of her husband. Screams of agony being heard from her as she sobbed. She tried to hold him as close as she could without doing any damage to her big baby bump. She whispered words like "Come back" "You are not dead" "Please don't leave me" Though it was of no use. She looked down on his body with empty eyes, taking in his face once more before leaning down to gently and longingly kiss his lips one last time.

"I love you... Farewell" were the last words she uttered.

An hour or two later...

Marie had gone and fetched her eldest daughter Rebekah. The little girl at 10 was crying as they walked back to Mystra, their home. For Marie had told her the news. Marie entered the manor only to be greeted by her youngest daughter Amelia and her eldest son Andronikos standing in the hall, waiting for them. Amelia ran towards her mother in a cheerful motion.

"Mama! You are home, but where is Papa?" She would ask. Marie fell to her knees as she started hulking. Stephanos whom had been watching from the shadows quickly went forward to bring the children away. Though Marie stopped him.

"N-no... they have to get told by me" She uttered as she looked up to greet all of her children. All her six children were now gathered, though two of them too young to understand as they were only two. Marie then told them the horrible news of their father. Most of them started crying, and due to the others crying so did the two year old twins. For grief, agony and sadness had now entered this great house. And for a long time it will stay so...

Quillian knelt at the grave with a devastated frown upon her visage, a horrid snarl escaped the woman's lungs whilst she glanced at the skies "I will avenge your death my beloved.. even if it means I join you within the skies." whilst the woman uttered these words, two separate hands rested upon her shoulders, the hands of her sons; Rion and Elias - sons of Demetrios, they too shared the mourning of their mother, over the loss of their father.

Prince Gonzalo de Castro, was in his bed just waking up from the previous night, still hungover a bird brought news of Demetrios' death. "I will avenge you Old friend, no matter the cost, those barbarian savages will go down." he'd clench his fist looking to the painting on his wall of Demetrios' holding the sword Gonzalo had made for him for his eighteenth birthday. "May you rest in peace Prince Demetrios." he'd walk down to his throne room and pop open a bottle of Cat-Daddy Bourbon, and pour him a heft glass, chugging it down, and passing out on the throne.

John would rest his arms on the railing of the balcony, overlooking his men training. His raven would land and perch next to him with the letter in it's beak. He would take the note and scan the words, "When I knew another would fall, I did not expect it to be you dear friend. May the Gods above have mercy on your soul brother, and shall we one day meet again." He sighs, hanging his head low.

Although the queen consort and now Sultana had not known Demetrios as well as she'd have liked, Soraya felt a genuine sorrow after hearing the news. "You were such a good godfather to my children. Too soon did you pass, dear friend. May Allah bring you to heaven, habibi."
